Marvel’s Ant-Man Celebrates World Premiere

The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California was the place to be on June 29th, when the cast and crew of Marvel’s latest hit “Ant-Man” celebrated the world premiere of the film.

Ant-Man coming to theatres near you on July 17th, brings us the story of Scott Lang and Dr. Hank Pym who join forces to protect the secret of the amazing Ant-Man suit which allows the wearer to shrink in size but increase their strength.

The action packed adventure full of edge of your seat scenes star Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Michael Douglas (Dr. Hank Pym), Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne), who along with Michael Peña (Luis), Tip “T.I.” Harris (Dave), David Dastmalchian (Kurt) join forces against Corey Stoll (Darren Cross/Yellowjacket) whose mission is to steal and gain control of the Ant-Man suit.

Also starring Bobby Cannavale (Paxton) Wood Harris (Gale) and Judy Greer (Maggie), Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige. Executive producers include Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Stan Lee, Edgar Wright. Screenplay written by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and Adam McKay & Paul Rudd.

Mickey Mouse Club & A Goofy Movie Anniversaries Will Be Celebrated At D23 Expo 2015

Members of the original Mickey Mouse Club will join the fun at D23 EXPO 2015 during a special presentation to commemorate the show’s 60th anniversary. Celebrating Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club — 60 Magical yEARS, hosted by author Lorraine Santoli (The Official Mickey Mouse Club Book), will take place Sunday, August 16 at 5 p.m. in Stage 23. The panel, featuring original Mouseketeers Sherry Alberoni, Sharon Baird, Bobby Burgess, Tommy Cole, Darlene Gillespie, Cubby O’Brien, and Doreen Tracey, along with actors Tim Considine (Spin Evans) and David Stollery (Marty Markham), will include a one-of-a-kind performance filled with memories, music, and magic. D23 EXPO 2015.

In addition to the panel, the Disney Dream Store will offer a small collection of 60th anniversary Mickey Mouse Club items to mark the occasion. Also, several of the Mouseketeers will be available for a signing opportunity at D23 Autograph Central on the EXPO show floor on Sunday from 2:30–3:30 p.m. Plus, guests will be able to see Mouseketeer Annette Funicello’s original Disney Legend handprints on display for the first time outside the Walt Disney Studios lot. The handprints, taken on October 21, 1992, when Funicello was inducted as a Disney Legend, will be presented in one of the show floor’s “photo spots.” There will also be a collection of props and costumes from Mickey Mouse Club Circus in Walt Disney Archives Presents—Disneyland: The Exhibit.

While Disneyland is one of the most photographed places on earth, this collection of one-of-a-kind footage and photography offers a unique viewpoint from another time. From the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Randy Haberkamp, Managing Director of Preservation and Foundation Programs; Lynne Kirste, Special Collections Curator; and surprise special guests will take guests on a journey from Walt’s inspirations for Disneyland to the park’s opening and evolution, as captured on film. Suzanne Lloyd joins the presentation to showcase her grandfather Harold Lloyd’s stunning photography of Disneyland taken the week before the opening and on opening day.

A Goofy Movie 20th Anniversary Reunion!

Fans of A Goofy Movie won’t want to miss this special commemoration of the beloved Disney animated feature, which turns 20 in 2015. The Making of American Experience: Walt Disney

This fall, PBS will premiere a new two-part, four-hour film exploring the life and legacy of Walt Disney as part of the American Experience series. Since 2010, D23 Destination D events have offered D23 Members the chance to celebrate their favorite Disney subjects with unique and in-depth presentations from Disney Legends, Imagineers, animators, and others who have made magic on film, at Disney theme parks, and beyond. At D23 EXPO 2015, D23 is bringing two popular presentations from prior Destination D events together for a celebration of Walt Disney World® Resort—including a look back to its construction, early development, and favorite attractions of the past with Disney Legend and Walt Disney Archives founder Dave Smith. Then, Imagineer Jason Grandt will provide a modern look at Disney Parks and offer a designer’s point of view of details and “Easter Eggs” found throughout different attractions.

Tickets for D23 EXPO 2015 are $74 for a one-day adult admission and $54 for children 3–12. Nintendo is Making a Huge Deal with Disney

Hello all my fellow Disney Addicts! I know what you are thinking, “Really it’s her again”. Why yes, it is me again. I have some gossip for my gamer buds out there. I love video games. I did have the first Nintendo. Not sure why I felt the need to point that out.

Rumors have been swirling and from some credible sources that Nintendo and Disney will be joining their amazing talents together. That would be SO AWESOME! Imagine the gaming possibilities. The deal might include videos as well as games and merchandise. I need to see Mario and Mickey in a game! Or an amazing Disney Infinity game that includes Mario and Princess Peach!

Can you think of any Nintendo and Disney characters that you would love to see in a game together?

Did you hear the news about Nintendo partnering with Universal Studios from last month? Seems like Nintendo is really getting around 😉

DisneyQuest Will be Closing to Make Room for The NBA Experience at Walt Disney World Resort

DisneyQuest will soon close it’s doors for good. It will be closing next year. The NBA Experience at Walt Disney World Resort will take over that location. DisneyQuest has open since June 19, 1998, so quite a long time. When it first opened it was ahead of it’s time in many ways. However now that technology has improved greatly many people feel this attraction is bit outdated and in need of updating.

DisneyQuest annual passes and the Water Park/DisneyQuest combo pass will no longer available.

The Cast Members that work there will be moved to new locations so no one will lose their job, which is a very good thing unlike the debacle last month.

Will you miss it or are you happy it will be gone?

Teen Beach 2 DVD Review!

Recently I was lucky enough to receive the Teen Beach 2 DVD for review and I must say this movie will more than likely blow you out of the water! (Pun intended!) From the super cool dance moves to the surprising range of emotions in the movie it definitely has something for everyone packed into it!

The one thing that stuck out the most to me in this movie was the girl power! All of the girls in the movie share a common goal of wanting more than their world is willing to give them which leads them to want to break free and shatter the glass ceiling made for women especially for Lela who’s used to the 1960’s. When she comes to Mack’s world she learns that she really can be anything she wants to be as she sings in one of the movie’s first songs “Right Where I Wanna Be”. Of course for Brady and Mack who are already going through issues of their own in their world it only adds to the turmoil. Even though they aren’t getting along they have to band together to get Lela and Tanner back where they belong even if Lela doesn’t really want to leave the 20th century!

Another one of my favorite things in this movie was the emphasis on believing in yourself and in knowing who you are should always be enough. This reign true for Tanner and Brady as they realize this in a cute scene in Brady’s workshop that’s my favorite scene in the movie. The actors who play Brady and Tanner, Ross Lynch (of Austin and Ally) and Garrett Clayton bring something to these characters that makes you truly believe that for as cool as they seem there’s a bit of insecurity that comes with it. Both these guys have always had it easy so when things go south they have to figure it out together which makes for quite the adorable bromance!

The movie was also of course jam packed with tons of new music and dances my favorite being “Gotta Be Me” which sends an awesome message of being yourself as well as the fun filled finale song “That’s How We Do” that’s filled with made up words and fun dance moves that make you want to get up and boogie! Also be on the lookout for a nod to some classic movies during the “Silver Screen” performance (which is my second favorite of the film).

Overall this film was admittedly better than I truly excepted and knocked the socks off the first movie and I give it a solid A- which would have been an A+ if it weren’t for a certain twist towards the end of the movie. (It’s a doozy!) So go pick up Teen Beach 2 and rock out to the music while learning valuable lessons about loving yourself! It doesn’t get much better than that!

Magic of Disney Animation will Close Soon

First let me say that our girl Anonymouse was right again! Sadly, the Magic of Disney Animation will close on July 12, 2015. The Animation Gallery next door will stay open till late August. My daughter loved taking the art classes there. They had a way of making even the worst artist seem like they could draw a Disney character.

This is another closure in a series of closures that has been happening at Hollywood Studios. They are going to be changing a lot in the park, along with the name. They seems to be going in more of a Star Wars direction, but we will see. Is Hollywood Studios prepping for a huge overhaul? Click the link to learn more.
