Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel

The Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel is just one among 54 Starwood hotels that have been affected by a recent data breach. They said they found malware in their systems that are used for processing payments at the hotel, this includes restaurants, shops, bars etc. However, the front desk payment processing was not affected by the breach.

The Walt Disney World Swan Hotel was not affected by this data breach.

The data breach at the Dolphin hotel happened between November 5, 2014 and April 13, 2015. They said the malware exposed card numbers, security codes, names and expiration dates from the cards. Contact info and pin numbers were not exposed. Their loyalty program was not affected. Starwood has said the malware has been removed.

Starwood is telling people to check their credit report if they have visited the affected hotels. If you have been affected Starwood will get All Clear ID to provide credit monitoring services and protection for one year.

If you have any questions or concerns please call Starwood at 1-855-270-9179, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central time. If you’re international, you can reach them at 1-512-201-2201.

Great Wolf Lodge coming to Walt Disney World Area?

Great Wolf Lodge
Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge

You may have heard about Great Wolf Lodge Resorts. They are based in Wisconsin and are a huge water park resort chain. They are planning another huge resort near Disney World. The plans are for an 800 unit hotel near Disney Springs. However, zoning allows for up to 1,400 unit hotel and timeshare units as well.

They are currently in negotiations to buy a property owned by Garrison Orlando LLC.

“Great Wolf Resorts is always interested in expanding and bringing our unique indoor water park resorts to new markets. We are currently reviewing several viable options across the country and the Orlando area remains an option,” said Susan Storey, communications director at Great Wolf.

Great Wolf Resorts is growing and expanding. They now have 14 locations, which are mainly in places where it is colder because indoor water parks are big business there, of course. In Florida, they are planning an indoor/outdoor park.

These resorts have a cabin look and rustic appeal. Kinda like the Wilderness Lodge at Disney World. They have 5 story water slides, huge multi level treehouses and wave pools. There are other attractions was well, they have restaurants, climbing, kids spa and , mini bowling.

Keep in mind that rooms here are not cheap, but nothing is today. Rooms cost an average of $200 to over $400 a night.

It is being said that the resort may only allow people staying at the resort to enjoy the water park.

Boy gets Autograph of His Real Hero at Disney World

Boy gets cops autograph at Disney World
Boy gets cops autograph at Disney World

A 6 year old boy, Shayne Welch of Massachusetts, visited Disney World with his family recently. Most kids want autographs of their favorite Disney hero or Princess. Shayne also wanted an autograph from his hero but his hero is not the typical Disney hero. He asked a Police Officer at Hollywood Studios for his autograph.

“It was our last park day in Disney, so we let each of the boys pick something from the gift store. Shayne selected the autograph book and pen,” says Shayne’s mother, Jennie Welch.

As soon as Shayne set his eyes on Deputy Rogers he asked if he could have his autograph. The Deputy got down to Shayne”s eye level and starting talking to him. He told me that he liked his haircut and once had the same haircut. So they thanked him and went on about their day at Disney. When they were leaving the Deputy was still there and Shayne just had to go out of the exit that was by him. The Deputy yelled Bye to Shayne. Shayne told his mom that he was going to miss him. How sweet is that? Out of all of the Disney magic he was more taken with the Police Officer.

Shayne might recognize the sacrifice and danger that goes into being a Police Officer a little more than most kids his age because his mother is also a Police Officer. His father is also a first responder, he is a Firefighter. I am sure Mom and Dad were so proud of Shayne.

Deputy Rogers has been at Disney for over 10 years and says this is a common occurrence for him. “I frequently take photos (many, many photos), shake hands, high-five, and, yes, sign autographs for kids all the time,” he says.

Next, the truck will bring sweet treats to Angelenos at the Americana at Brand mall in Glendale on Thursday, November 19th. ABC Family’s Pop Up Santa and Reddi-wip will surprise shoppers during the Americana at Brand’s 8th Annual Tree Lighting Spectacular with a special Pop Up performance hosted by ABC Family talent. The “Share The Joy” Food Truck will make its final stop to help Chicagoans get Reddi for Santa on Saturday, November 21st at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.

In keeping with the Pop Up Santa tradition of fun secrets and surprises, other holiday treats will include special moments for fans and two very special surprises in conjunction with “Good Morning America.” Network talent will also pay a special visit to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to share some joy with staff and patients recovering from traumatic injury or life-threatening illness in the hospital’s renowned Margie and Robert E. Petersen Foundation Rehabilitation Center.

As a soundtrack to the season, Atlantic Records multi-platinum singer, songwriter and actress, JoJo has lent her voice to a Pop Up Santa original song, debuting during “25 Days of Christmas.” UCLA’s signature a cappella group, the ScatterTones, accompany JoJo’s powerhouse vocals to create a one-of-a-kind musical experience. Cars Land Holiday
Cars Land Holiday

The holidays at the Disneyland Resort are extra special this year with the dazzling Diamond Celebration and thrilling Star Wars Season of the Force. There are lots of ways to celebrate the holidays at the resort from delicious treats, commemorative merchandise, beautiful themed decorations and special experiences. Here are 12 ways you can celebrate the holiday season at Disneyland this year:

  1. Experience the Dazzle of the Diamond Celebration: Each night at Disneyland park, the all-new “Paint the Night” parade sparkles with more than 1.5 million twinkling lights and the “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular illuminates the skies. There are three different viewing areas for the fireworks show- Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world”, and the Rivers of America. During the show, animated sequences are projected onto the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A.; the façade of “it’s a small world”; the mist screens of Rivers of America; and the Matterhorn. Commemorative Diamond Celebration merchandise and treats will continue to be available during the holidays.
  2. Join the Worldwide Celebration at “it’s a small world” Holiday: “it’s a small world” Holiday is decked out, both inside and outside, in decorations that honor cultures across the globe and how they unite to celebrate the holiday season.
  3. See Two Holidays Collide at Haunted Mansion Holiday: The Hatbox Ghost joins Jack Skellington and his frightful friends from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as they host a “spirited” Halloween and Christmas celebration at Haunted Mansion Holiday.
  4. Revel in the Merry Magic of “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade: This seasonal parade has been a holiday tradition at the Disneyland Resort for more than 20 years. You’ll witness the spirit of the season sweeping through Disneyland as Santa Claus and classic Disney characters merrily march down Main Street, U.S.A.
  5. Snap a Picture with Santa: Between preparing for Christmas Eve and leading his reindeer in “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, Santa Claus visits Critter Country at Disneyland and Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure Park. Be sure to visit jolly old Saint Nick and tell him your holiday wishes!
  6. Delight in Special Holiday Dishes and Treats: Dining locations across the Disneyland Resort add even more merriment with delicious food, beverages and desserts you can enjoy only during the holiday season. The classic peppermint bark and “snow-capped” dark chocolate peppermint gourmet apples may be found in the resort’s candy kitchens. And don’t forget about the handmade candy canes!
  7. Enjoy Two Different Shows at “World of Color”: This year, you can enjoy two versions of the amazing nighttime spectacular “World of Color,” at Disney California Adventure. “World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney” honors the Diamond Celebration and “World of Color – Winter Dreams” celebrates the holidays. Be sure to check the park calendar for show times.
  8. Dance and Dine at Disney “¡Viva Navidad!”: José Carioca and Panchito of “The Three Caballeros” team up with Donald Duck to host a lively seasonal celebration at Disney California Adventure. Experience traditional Latino holiday festivities and enjoy fun arts, crafts and storytelling, as well as a selection of unique merchandise.
  9. Have a Flurry of Fun at “Olaf’s Snow Fest”: Stage 17 at Disney California Adventure transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. You’ll experience lively music, “Frozen”-inspired treats and an expansive play area with real snow. After you build your own snowman you can share a warm hug with Olaf!
  10. Take the Family to Downtown Disney Winter Village and “Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink”: In the Downtown Disney District, the entire family may enjoy some wintertime fun skating at “Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink.” The charming chalets in the Downtown Disney Winter Village offer holiday shopping, each with its own selection of seasonal gifts or treats. Admission to “Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink,” including skate rental and helmets, is $17 for adults and $15 for children ages nine and under.
  11. Race Through the Star Wars Galaxy on Hyperspace Mountain: During Season of the Force the classic Space Mountain attraction in Tomorrowland is transformed into Hyperspace Mountain. You’ll be transported right onto the front lines of an exciting X-Wing battle and become part of the Star Wars universe.
  12. Become Immersed in the Star Wars Saga at Star Wars Launch Bay: Celebrate the Star Wars saga with fun interactive experiences, including encounters with Star Wars characters, at the Star Wars Launch Bay at the new Tomorrowland Expo Center in Disneyland.

What You Need to Know about Passports

passport
passport

passport

Passports… do you need one? If a passport is required at your port of entry and you don’t have one, you’re out of luck and your vacation will certainly be ruined. And while knowing whether or not a passport is required for your travel is incredibly important, it can be tricky to find the answers you’re looking for. So, let’s talk about when a passport might be required in ensure a smooth and magical vacation.

Entering the U.S. for Travel to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resorts:

If you are planning a trip to a Disney park in the United States, but will be traveling from somewhere outside of the U.S. or will be touching down somewhere outside of the U.S. a passport is required to enter the United States. (There are some exceptions.)

If you are a U.S. Citizen and will traveling from a U.S. Territory including Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and will not be landing in any other country a passport is not required.

Lastly, residents of some U.S. states may need a passport to fly within the U.S. soon. That’s right, five states are not currently in compliance with U.S laws for identification. Louisiana has been granted a waiver and residents will be able to continue to fly using their driver’s licenses as ID until October 10, 2016 or until new ID that meet the requirements are issued. The same applies for New Hampshire residents, but their extension only lasts until June 1, 2016. New York also has a waiver, for the time being. Residents of Minnesota should begin preparing – their states has not been granted an extension or waiver and could need a passport to fly as soon as January. New Mexico driver’s licenses are also not in compliance and the state was not granted an extension from Homeland Security – it has not been officially announced, however, that passports will be required for New Mexico residents. Better safe than sorry, though!

Disney Cruise Line:

If you are a U.S. citizen and will be sailing on a “closed-loop” cruise that departs from and arrives back at the same U.S. port but stops in Canada, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexico, or Bermuda you will be able to enter the back into the U.S. without a passport. You will however need other proof of citizenship: government issued birth certificate (raised seal and signature) and a laminated government issued picture ID (typically, driver’s license), Consular Report of Born Abroad Certificate, or a Certificate of Naturalization.

If you are a U.S. citizen you will be entering into another country to board you ship, will be ending your cruise in a country other than the U.S. or you are a citizen of another country and will be entering into the U.S. to board your ship you will need a passport.

Passports are not required for all cruises, but to be safe it is recommended that you have one just in case. Better safe than sorry!

For more information on passports or how to obtain one visit The U.S Passports and International Travel site.
