Baby it’s cold outside, even in Disney! During wintry weather like now, many of us are curled up inside watching our favorite Disney movies. Disney Springs has been adding new experiences, restaurants and more since it officially changed its name from Downtown Disney last year. Soon it will be getting a Tommy Bahama clothing store.
Tommy Bahama is a Seattle-based apparel maker and restaurant operator. Tommy Bahama apparel is sporty, fun, and casual at the same time. Their styles are great for sunny Orlando days spent visiting the parks at Walt Disney World Resort.
There are several Tommy Bahama stores and restaurants in Florida, including a restaurant at Pointe Orlando on International Drive. It’s unknown at this time whether the new Disney Springs location will have a restaurant component.
More additions will be coming to Disney Springs in the near future! Permits show Disney is working on additions like The Edison, Walt’s and the rumored Neverland Tunnel. Each will bring dining and entertainment options to the complex.
What do you think about these new additions to Disney Springs? Will you be shopping at Tommy Bahama?

In case you have not heard, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recently issued a travel alert for travelers to specific countries in the Caribbean (Barbados, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique and Saint Martin) and Latin America (Bolivia, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname and Venezuela) due to the Zika virus, a mosquito related illness.
Zika virus is spread primarily through mosquitoes, which mainly bite during daytime hours. It is not transmitted from person to person. Symptoms of Zika typically develop 3-12 days after being bitten and may include fever, headache, skin rash, joint pain and conjunctivitis (red eyes). Pregnant women should pay special attention to the travel alert and take necessary precaution to avoid mosquito bites. The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting from 2-7 days and most people who contract Zika experience no symptoms at all. The precautions recommended by the CDC are similar to those to prevent other mosquito borne illnesses like dengue fever, chikungunya, and West Nile virus and include wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants and using insect repellents containing DEET to avoid mosquito bites.
There is no vaccine to prevent Zika Fever however you can reduce your risk of contracting Zika and other mosquito-borne illnesses by following these steps prior to going ashore:
Apply insect repellent which contains one of the following active ingredients: DEET, picaridin (KBR 3023), Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus/PMD, or IR3535.
If both sunscreen and insect repellent is used, apply the sunscreen first and then the repellent.
Repellent is available for purchase from the shops on board.
Wear a loose, long-sleeved shirt and long pants, preferably of a light color to minimize the likelihood of being bitten.
As a result of this travel alert, Guests who are pregnant may wish to modify their cruise reservation. All affected Guests will receive an email with further information directly from Disney Cruise Line. If you wish to modify your reservation due to the Zika Virus, please call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center for assistance at 800-939-2784 or contact your World of Magic Travel Agent and we will be happy and ready to help!

Habit Heroes has been permanently closed at Epcot’s Innoventions. This recent closure leaves only three remaining exhibits in the building: Storm Struck, The Sum of All Thrills, and the newest addition Colortopia.
Habit Heroes was a health exhibit that had some trouble from the start. Originally opening in early 2012, it received negative feedback and quickly closed for refurbishment. When it reopened in 2013 the exhibit included the superheroes, Will Power and Callie Scenics. The superheroes fought against villains like Snacker and Lead Bottom.
Last year all of exhibits in the Innoventions West building were closed. What would you like to see replace Habit Heroes and the other closed Innoventions exhibits?
While Disney World is seeing some refurbishments and closures in early 2016, there have been lots of new additions that make this a great year to visit Walt Disney World. Right now you can take advantage of some great spring and summer promotions. If you would like more details or to take advantage of free vacation planning services please contact me at [email protected] or on facebook. 2016 is a great year for a little magic!

From the innovative minds of Disney•Pixar comes a hilariously heartwarming adventure about the power of confronting and overcoming your fears and discovering who you are meant to be. Reluctance quickly turns into awe-inspiring adventure as the boy embarks on an amazing journey, returning with a new perspective they can both embrace.
TRUE LIES ABOUT DINOSAURS – We know – it’s preposterous to think Apatosaurs spoke English. Learn more about what separates the fictional dinosaurs of “The Good Dinosaur“ from what scientists know about real dinosaurs.
RECYCLOSAURUS – Pixar takes creative competition seriously. Maybe a little too seriously. Watch as “The Good Dinosaur” crew competes to see which department can create the best dinosaur ever…using only discarded items from the studio’s “free table.”
THE FILMMAKERS’ JOURNEY – Finding your way from an idea to a film takes a lot of exploration. Director Peter Sohn and his fellow filmmakers talk about the challenging, inspiring, and unexpectedly emotional experience of making “The Good Dinosaur.”
EVERY PART OF THE DINOSAUR – The filmmakers talk about the special animation challenges of “The Good Dinosaur” – including figuring out how to animate a dinosaur who’s really a boy, and a boy who’s got the spirit of a dog.
FOLLOWING THE T-REX TRAIL – Follow the filmmakers as they travel to a working cattle ranch and meet the McKays, a close-knit family whose work ethic, generosity, and stories inspired the T-Rex ranchers of the film.
COMMENTARY – Commentary from director Peter Sohn, story supervisor Kelsey Mann, supervising animator Mike Venturini, director of photography/lighting Sharon Calahan, and supervising technical director Sanjay Bakshi.
DINO BITES – Montage of original animated pieces produced to promote “The Good Dinosaur.”
HIDE AND SEEK – A short animated clip produced to promote “The Good Dinosaur.”
Deleted Scenes:
The Attack – An idyllic introduction to the family farm is cut short when a savage predator attacks the newborn Arlo. With an introduction by Director Peter Sohn.
Building the Silo – An admiring Arlo is thrilled to follow along as his father builds a silo for the family farm. With an introduction by Director Peter Sohn.
Waiting for Poppa – Arlo awaits the return of his beloved father on a stormy night, only to be greeted with tragic news. With an introduction by Director Peter Sohn.
Earlier this month we talked about the possibility of Star Wars Tsum Tsums coming to join the rest of the stackable plush pals. The good news is, that dream is going to be a reality!
Photos of Tsum Tsum plush characters from the original and prequel trilogies have surfaced, and they are just too cute! No word on characters from the Force Awakens have emerged yet, I guess my birthday candle wish for a Kylo Ren or BB-8 Tsum Tsum hasn’t come true yet.
On top of pictures for the new Tsum Tsum collection, a promotional video from Japan for the newest addition to the game is also floating around. This video shows digital versions of the Star Wars Tsum Tsums in action.
Which Star Wars trilogy collection are you most excited for?
