Let it Go With The Olaf Toilet Seat Decal Sticker

Olaf Toilet Seat Decal

Sometimes potty humor can be hilarious and Disney themed! An Olaf Toilet Seat Decal StickerLet it Go With The Olaf Toilet Seat Decal Sticker will crack up anyone who uses your bathroom, or if they aren’t a fan of Frozen maybe make them begrudgingly smile a little.

Sure this decal would be great for a Frozen of Disney themed bathroom, but since it’s discreetly hidden I feel it works for any decor. It’s also sure to make potty time for for little ones who are still getting used to going like a big kid. The Olaf Toilet Seat Decal is approximately 12″ tall, and made from high quality vinyl, so it can be used not only in the bathroom, but anywhere you’d like to have a little extra Olaf magic. He’s all weather so he could even smile from your rear view window.  I don’t know how my husband would feel about Olaf on the potty, but it might be good for a few laughs the first time he sees it. For only $7.33 on Amazon he’s a steal!

Upset mom yells at American Airline employees over almost missing Disney Cruise

FullSizeRender

A mom of two young children waiting to board an American Airline flight from New York’s LaGuardia Airport to Miami had a serious meltdown on March 24th. Her flight, which was scheduled to take off at 9:00pm was repeatedly delayed, the flight didn’t leave until March 25th at 8:50 a.m. and arrived in Miami at 11:47 a.m., 11 ½ hours after its scheduled arrival. Her family was heading down to Miami to board a Disney Cruise and she was worried they would now miss the boarding.

“You lied to me! You lied to me!” the woman screams in the profanity-laced video. “You’re all gonna pay for my Disney cruise, and you’re going to pay for everything else here!”

According to American Airlines a few issues caused this delay.  First due to the wind the plane had to land in Philadelphia, then because of a ground stop issued by the FAA, the plane has to wait several hours before taking off from Philadelphia. Finally when it landed in New York the flight crew was nearing their work hour limited which requires them to take a 10 hour rest until they could fly again. FAA rules which could not be worked around.

A consumer advocate, Charlie Leocha of Travelers United claims people should plan ahead for instances just like this, weather and other uncontrolled events, by not flying at the last minute or purchasing travel insurance.

This is all good advice however the mom of the 13 and 9 year old who were waiting for hours for their vacation to begin obviously wasn’t aware of these suggestions prior to her cruise.

Disney said no one missed the cruise out of Miami which left more than five hours after it’s original scheduled departure, at 5:10 p.m.

Do you think this mom went a little overboard? Share your opinion below!

The Original Star Wars Trilogy is Returning to the Big Screen!

swot

Last December, millions of people got to see “Star Wars” make its big-screen comeback with the opening of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. And this summer, “Star Wars” will return to cinemas again with the incredibly rare screening of the original Star Wars trilogy.

The Alamo Drafthouse theater chain is sponsoring a nationwide roadshow of screenings, with “A New Hope”, “The Empire Strikes Back”, and “Return of the Jedi” being screened at cinemas in their 1997 re-release form. This is an event that doesn’t occur to often, and one that any movie buff and “Star Wars” fan should take advantage of. VP of special events at The Alamo Drafthouse Henri Mazza says, “Seeing the original trilogy on the big screen for the first time is a real life-altering event and just a supreme amount of fun. When the films became available to book for screenings like these, we jumped at the chance to do something big.”

The sale date for tickets haven’t been announced yet, but are projected to be on sale on May the 4th, and will be available for purchase at Returnofthetrilogy.com. More screenings will be added, but as of now the dates and cities of the tour are:

August 6 – San Francisco, CA / The Warfield
August 6 – Kansas City, MO / The Midland Theatre
August 6 – Washington, D.C. / Warner Theatre
August 6 – Los Angeles, CA / The Theatre at the Ace Hotel
August 6 – New York, NY / The Town Hall
August 6 – Miami, FL / Olympia Theatre
August 6 – San Antonio, TX  Majestic Theatre
August 7 – New York, NY / Kings Theatre
August 7 – Dallas, TX / Majestic Theatre
August 11 – 13 – Austin, TX / The Long Center for the Performing Arts
August 13 – Philadelphia, PA / The Keswick Theatre
August 13 – Louisville, KY / Brown Theatre
August 20 – Oakland, CA / Paramount Theatre
August 27 – Boston, MA / The Boston Opera House
Date TBD – Houston, TX / Venue  TBD
Date TBD – Denver, CO / Venue TBD

Not only will audiences get the treat of seeing the original trilogy in theaters again (or perhaps for the first time), but there will also be specially curated content before and after the screenings. I am going to try to get my tickets as soon as they’re available, that’s for sure! I especially can’t wait to see my personal favorite “Star Wars” film, “Return of the Jedi” on the big screen–the speeder bike scene is sure to look even more amazing! What film are you most excited to re-visit in theaters?

New boats for Frozen Ever After spotted being delivered to Epcot

As our anticipation for the new Frozen Ever After Ride to debut grows, so does the progress Disney is making on the ride. It appears the new boats, which look similar to the old Maelstrom boats, have been spotted on their way to Epcot. Can this mean we may actually see a late May opening of the newly renovated Norway Pavilion, loaded with Frozen fun? Well, we’re not sure about that, but we do know that once the boats are in place, there will have to be testing and practice runs before they deem it safe for guests to ride. We imagine it could be some time before it’s ready, but fingers still crossed it’s May 28!!

With the new Frozen Ever After ride and the Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet at the Royal Summerhus, Norway Pavilion in the World Showcase is shaping up to be a crowd pleaser!

Disney Find- Wooden I am a Disney Kid Sign

I am a Disney Kid
I am a Disney Kid

Disney Kid Sign

Today’s fun Disney find is a bit of a different twist on the poetic Disney signs we’ve all come to know and love. This sign from DesignsByErin13 on Etsy sings the tales of being a “Disney Kid”. The I am a Disney Kid sign is similar to the Disney House Rules, but I feel like this one is more of an affirmation, stating loud and proud that “I am a Disney kid” and I know it!

As Disney addicts, we’ve grown up loving the fairy tales spun with magical animation, and dashes of pixie dust. I know that not only do I hold many Disney memories close to my heart, but that I’m also making sure that my own children will hold their own Disney memories close too. This sign is an impressive 2 feet tall, and sure to let everyone know you’re a Disney Kid and proud. Since they are handmade each one will be a little different so that it can be uniquely yours. It comes in a variety of colors to match any home: Navy, Brown, Black and Teal. If you’re excited to show off your Disney pride, get your I am a Disney Kid Sign on Etsy here!

Are you a Disney kid and proud of it?

It has recently been brought to our attention that residents in the UK now have an additional snack credit added to their 2017 Disney Dining Plans, bringing their total to 2 snack credits instead of 1. While we’ve seen the proof on 2 different UK Disney travel sites, we haven’t heard word on whether or not this addition will be coming to US residents who purchase the Dining Plan in the future, but it sure would be nice, wouldn’t it?

UK residents also have had a Free Dining Announcement for 2017, while US residents are still waiting for 2016’s announcement still. We’re hoping to hear about a Free Dining Promotion for Fall 2016 very soon though, so stay tuned!

Currently the Dining Plans available for US Residents are as follows:

Quick Service Dining Plan

  • 2 counter service
  • 1 snack
  • 1 refillable mug
  • $44.13 per adult per night, $19.04 per child per night

Disney Dining Plus Plan

  • 1 counter service
  • 1 sit down
  • 1 snack
  • 1 refillable mug
  • $63.70 per adult per night, $22.85 per child per night

Disney Deluxe Dining Plan

  • 3 meals (any combination of sit down or counter-service)
  • 2 snacks
  • 1 refillable mug
  • $115.08 per adult per night, $35.49 per child per night

If you don’t usually purchase the dining plan, would you be more likely to if they offered another snack credit?

Top Ride Tips at Disney World… the inside track.

20150520 AK EVEREST
20150520 AK EVEREST

20150520 AK_EVEREST

Test Track, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, Soarin’…we all know what rides to hit when visiting Disney World but did you know there are some secret tips for these rides? Whether you are a Disney World veteran or a first-timer I think you will enjoy this information and hopefully learn something new.  From not waiting in the long standby line, to the best (or worst) seat on the ride, in my professional opinion as an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner with MickeyTravels these are some great strategies to enjoy your time at the parks even more.

  • RIDER SWITCH:  This is Disney’s way of making sure just because you are traveling with little ones you don’t have to miss out on riding the “Big” rides that have a height requirement. Here’s how it works… have all the members in your party see a Cast member at the ride entrance and ask for a “rider switch pass”. They will check the height of the littlest member of your party who is not eligible to ride and those waiting will receive a pass. It works just like a FastPass and one pass can be used for up to 3 people. Just remember that you do need to bring your entire group with you when asking for the pass and they need to see the child that isn’t tall enough for the ride. As soon as the first group finishes riding the ride, those waiting will enter with their pass through the FastPass lane with up to 3 people. So technically someone could re-ride the ride if they wanted to since only one adult needs to stay with the rider not eligible to ride.  One of the best things is that unlike FP+ the Rider Switch Pass doesn’t have a time on it so you can use it ANY TIME OF DAY! …it’s even good for up to a week so you can come back the next day and use it!
  • KILIMANJARO SAFARIS at Animal Kingdom is best in the early morning, so head there first! Animals are much more active in the morning on the reserve because as the day gets hotter they will just be lying around. There’s nothing quite like having to stop the safari vehicle for a giraffe or rhino to cross in front of your path.  The animals are also quite active in the rain, so don’t let the weather stop you from taking a Safari trip! They are also now offering Nocturnal Encounters where you can view the animals in their nighttime habitat which will also be a great time to ride. The best thing about this attraction is no matter how many times you do this experience, each safari ride will be different.
  • TOWER OF TERROR at Hollywood Studios is ride that’s a little more fun (& scary) to ride in the front row. It’s a 13 story drop and is my absolute favorite ride at Disney World.  Did you know that the drop sequence for each elevator car is selected at random by the attraction’s computer system?! So if you ride multiple times you will get a different experience!
  • The best way to experience SOARIN at Epcot is in the front row, as well. No dangling feet in your view and you feel that much more immersed in the ride. Just ask a cast member when you are being assigned your spot in the line up. You may have to wait one ride but it’s worth it. Also if you don’t have a FP+ for this ride go on it first right when the park opens because the line can get to be hours long during peak times. Don’t get sidetracked by walking into the park and seeing Spaceship Earth, keep your eye on the prize and head right to Soarin’.
  • BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN RAILROAD at Magic Kingdom has the best seat in the last car of the train. It’s the fastest (the front goes slowly down the hills and if you are in the back you get the full hill) and not blocked by the big engine at the front. A little bonus tip is if you can plan to ride during “Wishes” fireworks you are in for an amazing view.
  • SPLASH MOUNTAIN at Magic Kingdom is a ride where you may or may not get wet. Personally, I’ve never gotten soaked on this ride and if it’s hot out it’s actually a fun way to cool off (you can actually get much more wet standing on the bridge watching). But beware on the right side at the end of the ride, just when you thought the chances of getting wet were over, look out for the waterfall. If this ride has a long wait time during the day and you don’t have a FP+, try riding late at night when it’s much less crowded.
  • EXPEDITION EVEREST at Animal Kingdom offers a “Single Rider Option,” now that my kids are older this has been a great option for us since we just care about getting on the ride the fastest more than where we sit. Also the front row is a great seat and you can ask a Cast Member for the option to wait for the front cart. The single rider line is a little tricky find, it’s near the exit.
  • TEST TRACK at EPCOT is another great ride with the “Single Rider Option.” We have gotten through the ride SO much faster with this option and there are times we end up in the same car anyway….but that’s not guaranteed.  Also just be aware that you don’t get to design your own SimCar for your ride on Test Track in the single rider line but that’s just because the line moves so much faster, a fair trade-off if you ask me. If this is your first time riding you may want to do the normal line just to participate in that part of the experience.
  • HAUNTED MANSION at Magic Kingdom has a “stretching room” you enter before getting on the ride as part of the experience and story. When you enter the room go towards the painting that has the young woman holding the sun umbrella, this is where the door will open after the room stretches to enter the ride and you will be first in line to get on.
  • ROCK ‘N’ ROLLER COSTER at Hollywood Studios also offers a “Single Rider Option.” This is a great way to skip the long wait times AND it also is a perfect ride to use the Rider Switch Option.
  • BUZZ LIGHTYEAR’S SPACE RANGER SPIN  at Magic Kingdom is a ride and game in one where you shoot at the “Zs” for points. My family and I love to compete on this ride for highest points. In the first room aim for the left arm of the robot on the left for 100,000 points. When you see Zurg, hit the bottom target of his space scooter for 100,000 points. Also aim for the top of the volcano for big points.
  • KALI RIVER RAPIDS is at Animal Kingdom and just know that you are going to get WET. Very wet. If you have a poncho, wear it and heads up on protecting your camera and phones. Also if you want to protect your feet from getting soaked put them on the silver ring in the middle because no matter what the water comes crashing across the floor and wet socks and sneakers are not a fun mix for walking around the park.
  • MISSION SPACE at Epcot is pretty tight quarters so if you are claustrophobic at all you may not like this ride. If you do decide to do this experience, you will need to decide whether to be on the “Orange Team” or “Green Team”. The Green version of this attraction is much less intense mostly because you won’t spin. It also usually has a shorter wait time. The Orange version is very intense and riders sustain a force of 2.5Gs…..there are barf bags if needed. This ride also offers the Single Rider Option.

BONUS TIPS:

If there is a popular ride you really want to get on and the standby lines are very long and you didn’t get a FP+ for it, get in line a half hour before the park closes. Disney has a policy that anyone in line when the park closes gets to ride, even if they don’t get on until the after the park closes. Also there will be very few FP+ riders at this time so the wait time will actually be much shorter than the posted standby time.

When booking the hard to come by FP+ option (i.e. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom) get on My Disney Experience to book these popular options at midnight EST 60 days before your trip (for on-site guests) and don’t book your FP+ in the order of the days you are there but instead book the difficult ones first. Try booking on the website instead of the app, it’s a little easier to use. You can book your FP+ options for your entire stay. Here are the FP+ you should prioritize: Magic Kingdom; Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Meet Anna & Elsa. Epcot; Soarin’ and Test Track. Hollywood Studios; Toy Story Mania. If you don’t get the attraction you want, be sure to check back and try again, it could always open up, sometimes it’s just about timing.
