We recently got our first look at Toothless and Hiccup preparing to greet guests at How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and now, Universal Orlando has confirmed an additional meet and greet experience coming to the new land at Epic Universe. And yes, that means more dragons! 🔥

Get ready to meet Astrid and her loyal dragon, Stormfly, as they join the lineup of exciting character encounters in this highly anticipated land. Universal shared a first look at the duo, giving fans of the How to Train Your Dragon films another reason to be excited for the grand opening of Epic Universe on May 22, 2025.

A World of Dragons and Adventure

Set on a rocky island where Vikings and dragons coexist, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk promises fire-breathing fun for all ages. Sneak Peek at the Five Worlds Inside Universal Epic Universe

First Look Inside Universal’s Epic Universe – Stunning New Images Released!

With just two months to go until Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe officially opens its gates on May 22, 2025, Universal has unveiled brand-new images from inside the park—and they are nothing short of EPIC!

While Team Member previews have been underway for the past few weeks, strict no-photo policies meant that fans have been eagerly waiting for ground-level images of the completed lands. Now, for the first time, we’re getting an official look at the park’s breathtaking environments, and the details are absolutely incredible.

Celestial Park & Chronos Tower

The first image gives us a stunning look at Chronos Tower, the grand icon of Celestial Park. Guests will walk beneath this towering structure as they enter the park, with each of Epic Universe’s five themed lands represented on the tower itself. As the hub of Epic Universe, Celestial Park is not just an entryway—it’s a lush, immersive world of its own, filled with fountains, gardens, and cosmic-inspired architecture that set the stage for the adventures that await. Here guests will encounter Stardust Racers, a dueling coaster that many guests are relaying goes toe-to-toe with VelociCoaster!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

Next, we step into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, where we get our first official look at Wizarding Paris! The highlight here is Le Cirque Arcanus™, a magical spectacle where guests will encounter incredible beasts through live performers, puppetry, and cutting-edge special effects. Fans of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will recognize the legendary traveling wizarding circus, now brought to life in a jaw-dropping immersive experience.

Dark Universe – Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

From there, we dive into the eerie and foreboding world of Dark Universe, where Frankenstein Manor looms over the landscape. This sinister estate is home to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, an attraction that puts guests right in the middle of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s latest experiments. Things go terribly wrong when Dracula leads an uprising of classic Universal Monsters including The Wolf Man, The Mummy, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Early Team Member previews have been overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it one of Universal’s best dark rides ever—and we can’t wait to see it in action ourselves!

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

The next image takes us to the breathtaking world of How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. Towering entrance statues stand proudly, welcoming guests into a land that is a near-perfect recreation of the village from the films. The shot also captures boats resting in front of the mountain backdrop, making it feel like you’ve stepped straight into the Viking world of Hiccup and Toothless. The attention to detail is astounding, and it looks like this land will be an instant fan favorite.

Super Nintendo World – Yoshi’s Adventure

Finally, we get a bright and colorful look at Super Nintendo World, where the entrance to Yoshi’s Adventure sits at the base of Mount Beanpole. The area is bursting with classic Mario elements, including floating Prize Blocks, Thwomps, and lush green hills straight out of the Mushroom Kingdom. Fans who have visited Super Nintendo World in Japan or Hollywood will recognize familiar elements, but this version of the land promises to be bigger and more immersive than ever.

Counting Down to Opening Day

These newly released images are a thrilling preview of what’s to come, and with only two months left, anticipation for Epic Universe’s grand opening is at an all-time high. A Sky-High Preview of Universal’s Epic Universe from The Orlando Eye

We recently took a ride on The Orlando Eye at ICON Park, and while the panoramic views of Orlando’s skyline are always spectacular, the real highlight was catching a bird’s-eye view of Universal’s Epic Universe! With Team Member previews underway ahead of the park’s grand opening on May 22, 2025, we had the perfect vantage point to see just how far construction has come—and it’s looking truly epic.

From 400 feet above the city, some of the most visible elements of Epic Universe were hard to miss. Helios Grand Hotel, the park’s stunning celestial-themed resort, dominates the landscape, standing as a beacon at the heart of Celestial Park. Right next to it, we could clearly make out Stardust Racers, the park’s thrilling dueling roller coaster that will have riders racing through the stars.

Zooming in with our camera, we caught even more details of the park’s immersive lands. Super Nintendo World is unmistakable, with its vibrant colors and layered terrain bringing Mushroom Kingdom to life. The nearby Constellation Carousel, a dazzling centerpiece of Celestial Park, was also visible, adding a whimsical touch to the skyline. In the distance, we could spot How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, with its Viking-style architecture and lush landscapes taking shape.

A closer look revealed part of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, including the portal-style entrance and the massive show building for the much-anticipated Battle at the Ministry attraction. While a full view of Dark Universe was obscured, we still managed to see the top of Frankenstein Manor and part of the track for Curse of the Werewolf, hinting at the eerie thrills awaiting guests.

With Epic Universe nearing completion, now is the perfect time to catch a sneak peek from above. Whether you’re a theme park enthusiast eagerly awaiting the grand opening or just looking for a stunning aerial view of Orlando, a ride on The Orlando Eye offers an unforgettable perspective. Scrim Removed From Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom

The Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Nears Completion of Exterior Refurbishment

Refurbishment work is racing toward completion at The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom, as construction walls and scrims that once enveloped the left side of the restaurant near the entrance to Tomorrowland Terrace have come down. These barriers were installed last month to facilitate the next phase of the restaurant’s exterior updates.

While the removal of the construction walls signals significant progress, some finishing touches remain. The flower boxes adorning the second floor of the building are still empty, possibly in preparation for additional cleaning or maintenance. The black overhang roof beneath them appears to need some extra care, suggesting that power washing or other minor repairs might still be on the horizon.

Despite the refurbishment, the exterior of The Plaza Restaurant has not undergone any major changes. This is typical for projects of this nature, which primarily focus on general repairs and maintenance rather than drastic alterations to the building’s appearance.

A Classic Dining Spot on Main Street, U.S.A.

For those unfamiliar with The Plaza Restaurant, this charming eatery sits at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., offering a casual yet elegant dining experience reminiscent of the early 20th century. With the film set to grace theaters on March 21, 2025, these releases offer a tantalizing glimpse into the reimagined classic.

A special featurette, now available, provides an exclusive look behind the scenes of “Disney’s Snow White.” It delves into the creative process behind the film’s new musical numbers, featuring insightful commentary from director Marc Webb, the EGOT-winning songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and the film’s stars, Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. This featurette explores how the filmmakers breathed new life into the beloved story through music.

Adding to the excitement, Walt Disney Records has released the original soundtrack for “Disney’s Snow White.” The lead single, Rachel Zegler’s powerful rendition of “Waiting on a Wish,” has already captivated audiences, amassing over 50 million views across social media since its March 4th launch.

The soundtrack itself is a testament to the musical prowess of the team involved. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, renowned for their work on “La La Land” and “The Greatest Showman,” penned the original songs, with additional lyrics by Jack Feldman. The songs are brought to life by the talented cast, including Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, and the voices from the original 1937 animated film, creating a bridge between generations.
