Fourth of July Celebrations at the Disneyland Resort

Celebrate Independence Day this July 4th at the Disneyland Resort in California with special entertainment including a fireworks spectacular, parades and patriotic performances.

Disneyland park – Following the “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular at 9:30 p.m. will be a patriotic, pyrotechnic grand finale. And, be sure to catch the United States 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band earlier in the day at the following times and locations:

4:00 p.m. – Flag Retreat Ceremony in Town Square
4:20 p.m. – Pre-parade, immediately following the Flag Retreat Ceremony
7:00 p.m. – Fourth of July Concert at Fantasyland Theater

Disney California Adventure park – A Fourth of July-themed pyrotechnic water display will be featured before the 9:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. showings of “World of Color.”

Downtown Disney District – The breakout rock band of the United States 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band will perform on the Downtown Disney District main stage at 11:30 a.m.

In the local community, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney friends will participate in the Huntington Beach Fourth of July parade, also broadcast live locally on KABC. Disney characters will also take part in their local parade in Anaheim.

The Muppets are Possibly Coming to a New Attraction at Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square

According to WDW News Today, The Muppets will be coming soon to Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. The facade of the Heritage House has been undergoing a lengthy refurbishment and it is believed to have something to do with a new attraction that includes The Muppets. Characters will teach and interact with guests regarding U.S. history and appear on the second story windows. Testing is set to begin shortly.

I did it all for the wookie, the wookie pants that is. How epically awesome are these Chewbacca Leggings though, I mean brrwhhhaargh!!!

These officially licensed Star Wars women’s leggings feature a print of Chewie’s fur and costume. The are a super soft velvet material and perfect for everyday wear! Disney Springs welcomes Johnny Was clothing shop

Disney Springs welcomes Johnny Was, a California-based clothing shop to their list of ever growing retail locations.

Embrace a free-spirited lifestyle with the breezy bohemian looks this boutique has to offer. From Festival-ready maxi dresses to vibrantly patterned silk scarves—every item exudes feminine charm.

Upon entering the shop, Guests will encounter vibrant Moroccan rag rugs and find personalized mood boards in dressing rooms with photographs, artwork, and small found objects such as shells or feathers. Guests can browse through unique clothing, jewelry in handmade vintage ceramics and a curated selection of art and culture books.

The Disney Springs shop is Florida’s third Johnny Was location. The other two are located in Palm Beach Gardens and Naples. The company has 16 nationwide locations.

Disney Springs has been debuting many new retailers over the past year, including others still scheduled to open soon like the new Uniqlo store that is opening on July 15th.

Sandtastic Weekends at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin will host two Sandtastic Weekends this summer on August 26 – 28 and September 2 – 4 beginning at noon each day. Watch as world-class sculptors from “Team Sandtastic” create an intricate sand-sculpted art display.

Activities for all ages include:

Master Sand Sculpture Demonstrations
Sand Sculpting Classes
Speed Sand Demonstrations
DJ Dance in the Sand Party
Cinema on the Sand

Outdoor food trucks will offer traditional favorites such as hamburgers and hot dogs, along with frozen specialty cocktails and beer. The resort’s very own craft beer, Phins & Feathers, will also be available to purchase.

Upcoming Walt Disney World Merchandise Event in July

If you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in July, there are some special artist showcases and events you may enjoy. Today we have a look at the The Disney World Merchandise Event snapshot.

These events are an amazing way to meet the artists and designers behind some of our favorite character paintings, artistic designs and so much more. You can get signed pieces, and even limited edition items sometimes.

Disney Springs

July 6 – 9: Meet artist David E. Doss, who will be appearing at Art of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace from 1 – 9 p.m., each day.
July 8 – 10: Artist Sydney Hanson will be on hand for a special appearance and signing of some of her newest releases, July 8 – 9 from 5 – 8 p.m. each day, and July 10 from Noon – 3 p.m. in WonderGround Gallery at Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs Marketplace.
June 29 – July 5 and July 20 – 24: Artist Greg McCullough returns to Art of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace with special appearances and signings from 1 – 8 p.m., each day.
July 23: Meet Dooney & Bourke Creative Director, Ian Ray, who will be on hand for a special appearance and signing of two new spectacular collections, Love Birds and Small World, among other items from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Cherry Tree Lane at Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs Marketplace. (I have to admit, I really wish I could make it to this one!)

Epcot:

Renowned international artist Larry Dotson will be at Epcot each day at the following locations from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., and you can add some of his latest pieces to your collection.

July 12 – 15: Fragrance designer Geir Ness will be on hand for special appearances as he showcases the latest from his Laila fragrance and beauty collection. Meet Geir from Noon – 6 p.m., each day, at Puffin’s Roost in the Norway Pavilion.
July 13 – 16: As you travel around World Showcase, be sure to make a quick stop at La Signature in the France Pavilion where you’ll find the latest releases in fragrances and cosmetics from Guerlain.

ABC Announces Fall Premiere Dates for 2016-17 Season

With many ABC shows having just wrapped up their 2015-16 season, the fall premiere dates have now been announced! There will be many returning favorites to ABC’s 2016-2017 line-up, such as “Dancing with the Stars”, “Once Upon a Time“, and “Shark Tank” to name a few. There will also be five new shows:

“Designated Survivor” : A drama series starring Kiefer Sutherland

Disney Find- Unique Monorail Mouse Ears

One of my favorite things to do while at the Disney Parks Resorts is to wear mouse ears! It can be hard to be unique with your ears though. The HappilyEverHatter on Etsy has fixed that problem for us.

They have all kinds of amazing well crafted ears that I’ve never seen before! While checking out the cute Hats and Bands one thing that stood out are the illusion ears! They are lightweight ears with a “cutout” design featuring popular rides, characters and buildings! For the second year in a row Universal Studios’s Island of Adventure won top spot in Trip Advisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards for Amusement Parks and Water Parks. The winners were chosen by the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for parks worldwide over the period of 12 months.

If, you take a look at the list of top ten you will notice most of the theme parks are located in Florida, this is no surprise, we agree the best theme parks are located in the sunny state! Here are the top ten:

A Midnight Soirée at the Tower of Terror for D23 Members

D23 Members have the opportunity drop by Hollywood Studios for an after-hours Midnight Soirée at the Tower of Terror, behind-the-scenes experience, followed by a private midnight soirée with themed food, beverages, and entertainment recalling the legendary night in 1939.

Check in will be begin at 10:30 p.m. and transportation will begin at 11 p.m. Transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be provided from a Walt Disney World Resort location; details to come.

This intimate D23 Behind-the-Scenes experience is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. We invite you—if you dare—to join us on October 5 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where youare the star. Because this event travels directly to…The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Your evening will begin at the Hollywood Tower Hotel, which was once a beacon amid the glitz and glitter of a bustling, young movie town. There, you’ll discover the details and secrets that surround you during an after-hours, behind-the-scenes discussion of the legendary park attraction.
