Fake Bomb Threat at Walt Disney World Shuts Down Disney World Monorail System

Guest Arrested After False Bomb Threat at Disney’s Grand Floridian—But Prosecutors Decline to File Charges

A family vacation took a dramatic turn last November when a guest made a false bomb threat at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort, halting the entire monorail system and resulting in a swift arrest. Now, months later, newly released records reveal that the charges have been dropped and the case will not be prosecuted.

According to an Arrest Affidavit from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office filed with the Orange County Clerk of Courts, the incident occurred on November 23, 2024, when 31-year-old Adam Murphy of Deltona, Florida, was going through monorail security with his wife at the Grand Floridian Resort. Disney security flagged the couple for additional screening. During the inspection, Murphy told security that his wife had a gun in her bag. When she told him to stop, Murphy escalated things further, stating, “I have a bomb.”

Security officers and Murphy’s wife both urged him to stop making those statements, but Murphy reportedly insisted that it was his “constitutional right” to say whatever he wanted. Disney security immediately contacted their supervisor, who then alerted 911.

By the time deputies arrived, Murphy and his group had boarded the monorail, which was prevented from departing until the area could be cleared. Deputies removed Murphy from the monorail, placed him in handcuffs, and read him his Miranda Rights. Murphy admitted to making the bomb comment, later saying it was a joke and again asserting he believed he had the legal right to say it.

Disney security performed a sweep of both the monorail and a family member’s nearby vehicle with bomb-sniffing dogs. No weapons or explosives were found, and the monorail resumed operation once the scene was cleared.

Murphy was arrested and charged under Florida Statute 790.163(1) for making a false report concerning the planting of a bomb, explosive, or weapon of mass destruction, and was issued a trespass warning from Walt Disney World Resort. He was then transported to Orange County Jail without further incident.

However, in a court filing dated February 17, 2025, the State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida declined to pursue charges. The filing states, “From the investigation which has been made, it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution.” As a result, Murphy’s case was dropped and his record cleared of the charge.

Though no charges were ultimately filed, the incident caused widespread disruption and raised serious concerns about guest conduct and safety at one of the most heavily visited vacation destinations in the world. It also served as a reminder: even a joke made in poor taste can have real consequences—especially at Walt Disney World.

Disney Destiny Hits the Water for the First Time: Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Magical New Cruise Ship

A wave of excitement is building as the Disney Destiny—the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet—reached a major construction milestone last week at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany. The ship touched water for the very first time in a process known as a “float up,” where water from the Ems River was used to gently lift the massive vessel off the chamber floor. Now that Disney Destiny is afloat, testing of the onboard systems, including the powerful main engines, is underway as the team gears up for its magical maiden voyage.

Set to embark on its first sailing from Fort Lauderdale on November 20, 2025, Disney Destiny will offer 4- and 5-night itineraries to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean. The ship promises an unforgettable experience filled with iconic Disney storytelling, thrilling entertainment, and next-level dining.

Dining Destinies Worthy of Royalty (and Superheroes)

Each evening, guests will rotate through three immersive restaurants as part of Disney’s signature rotational dining. Step into Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, where Simba’s journey is retold in a live musical performance filled with unforgettable songs and flavors. At Worlds of Marvel, join Baby Groot as he throws a musical party of heroic proportions, complete with a menu that’s truly out of this world. And for a refined touch of nostalgia, 1923 pays homage to Disney’s roots with Golden Age glamour and California-inspired cuisine.

For those looking for something sweet, head to Edna À La Mode Sweets, where the stylish scene-stealer from The Incredibles serves up fabulously indulgent desserts. Or enjoy laid-back bites at Marceline Market, and themed walk-up cafés like Café Megara and Café Merida for a midday pick-me-up with a touch of Disney flair. On the upper decks, Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods dishes out fan-favorites like Daisy’s Pizza Pies and Donald’s Cantina.

Entertainment That Soars

The Disney Destiny sets a new standard for onboard entertainment. A brand-new Broadway-style show, Disney Hercules, brings the gods, monsters, and Muses to life with all-new visuals and even a never-before-heard ballad originally cut from the animated film. Also on board are Frozen, A Musical Spectacular and Disney Seas the Adventure, giving guests plenty of reasons to sing along at sea.

Meet the Heroes—and the Villains

Disney Destiny offers more than just glitz and glamour—expect bold face-to-face encounters with Disney, Pixar, and Marvel Characters. Pose with Spider-Man or share a sly grin with Loki. You might even catch Maleficent or Cruella De Vil causing some mischief on board. The ship’s Grand Hall, adorned with African-inspired décor and a bronze statue of Black Panther, sets the stage for these memorable meet-and-greets.

Water Slides, Hero Zones, and Movie Magic

When you’re not dining or catching a show, there’s still plenty to explore. The AquaMouse water coaster launches guests on a thrilling journey with Mickey, Minnie, and a host of classic Disney villains. The Hero Zone challenges families with high-energy competitions, while Saga offers live music and game shows by day and becomes an adults-only lounge by night.

Up on deck, cool off in one of 10 pools and splash zones, including the whimsical Toy Story Splash Zone and Slide-a-saurus Rex family slide. And for movie buffs, twin theaters—Wonderland Cinema and Never Land Cinema—screen everything from beloved classics to the latest blockbusters.

As anticipation builds for Disney Destiny’s inaugural season, one thing’s clear: this ship is more than just a cruise—it’s a floating world of imagination where heroes and villains, adventure and elegance, all sail together on the high seas.

Star Wars Day Reaches Capacity for Annual Passholders at Hollywood Studios

Star Wars Day Reaches Capacity for Annual Passholders at Hollywood Studios

May the Force Be Fully Booked? Hollywood Studios Reaches Capacity for Star Wars Day 2025

It’s official, rebels and rogues — May the 4th is off the reservation grid… at least for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. According to the park reservation calendar, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has reached capacity for Passholders on May 4, 2025, and the Force is definitely strong with this one.

While guests with standard tickets or Disney Resort hotel reservations can still snag a spot, Passholders (as well as others with tickets that are not date based) hoping to celebrate Star Wars Day will need to plot a new course through the galaxy — or, you know, park hop after 2 PM.

This Is the Way… To Savi’s

Even though Disney hasn’t officially announced the full lineup of Star Wars Day festivities yet (hello, mysterious they are), we do know one thing for sure: a brand-new lightsaber experience is landing at Savi’s Workshop.

Introducing: “Reclaimed and Reforged” — a next-level build-your-own lightsaber storyline straight from the lore-rich corners of the galaxy. Inspired by ancient conflicts and long-lost legends, this experience lets guests channel their inner Jedi, Sith, or somewhere-in-between and forge a saber with a history as unique as their destiny. Originally introduced at Disneyland’s Season of the Force, this storyline makes its Walt Disney World debut on May the 4th. Supplies will be limited, so if you’re hoping to build a blade, make like hyperspace and be fast.

Limited Snacks, Legendary Hype

In recent years, May the 4th at Hollywood Studios has been more about limited-edition merchandise drops and Star Wars-themed snacks than full-blown galactic battles. (No Ewok parades or impromptu Jedi duels, sadly.) But if history tells us anything, there’s always a surprise or two in store — and Disney does love to keep things close to the chest… like a Mandalorian with a beskar secret.

Can’t Nab a Reservation? Don’t Go Full Sith Just Yet.

If you didn’t secure a reservation to Hollywood Studios before the shields went up, don’t panic like a protocol droid. You can still:

  • Park hop to Hollywood Studios after 2 PM (with an eligible ticket and reservation at another park).
  • Check the reservation calendar frequently — Disney often releases extra capacity closer to the date.
  • Use the Force (of patience and good timing).

And remember: if you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or have regular park tickets, you’re still clear to land at Hollywood Studios on May the 4th (provided you used credits to purchase a park ticket that is valid on that day).

In the Meantime…

Keep your comlink tuned for updates. With “Reclaimed and Reforged” ready to ignite and the park at capacity well in advance, Disney is clearly gearing up for something special this year.

So get your robes dry-cleaned, brush up on your Wookiee growls, and polish those droid companion protocols — because Star Wars Day 2025 is shaping up to be a celebration worthy of the Jedi Archives.

Until then, may the snacks be sweet, the merch be exclusive, and the Force be with you… always.

EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion to Host First In-Park DVC Welcome Home Center

If you’ve walked through EPCOT’s World Showcase recently and glanced over at the Canada Pavilion, you’ve likely noticed something different — and we’re not just talking about routine touch-ups. Ongoing construction on the upper level of the Hotel du Canada facade has taken a curious turn, and the latest development has sparked fresh speculation: new windows are being installed.

New DVC Welcome Home Center

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has just announced the purpose of recent construction activity within EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion: the development of the first in-park Welcome Home Center at Walt Disney World. Scheduled to open this spring, the new location, named Château de Voyage, will offer guests a dedicated space to explore DVC Membership options.

Château de Voyage, situated within the Hotel du Canada building, will feature a model room from the newly opened Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This marks a significant milestone for DVC, as it represents the first time a Welcome Home Center has been established within a Walt Disney World theme park.

The initiative aims to provide prospective DVC members with convenient access to information and a tangible experience of DVC accommodations, all while they are enjoying their time at EPCOT. The detailed model room will allow guests to visualize the DVC experience firsthand.

Beyond a Simple Refurbishment

For years, the upper levels of the Hotel du Canada have been mostly unused. Aside from Le Cellier Steakhouse operating in the basement, the rest of the structure has remained closed to guests since the closure of Le Boutique des Provinces, a former shop that sold perfume and jewelry.

That’s why this level of construction, especially the addition and replacement of actual structural elements like windows, feels significant. We’re not just seeing new paint or refreshed stonework. We’re seeing what looks like functional modifications being made to a long-dormant space.

Users Can Now Clear Disney+ “Continue Watching” List

A highly requested update is now live on Disney+, giving users the ability to clear titles from the “Continue Watching” section. This new feature provides a simple way to manage your viewing list, addressing accidental additions, completed series, and general preference for a clean slate.

Disney+ Now Allow Users to Remove Titles from their “Continue Watching”

Here’s what you need to know on how to remove titles from the “Continue Watching” row:

How can I remove something I’ve already watched from the “Continue Watching” row on my TV?

This depends on where you’re removing it from. Within the “Continue Watching” row itself, you’ll need to navigate to the title you want, press and hold the button on your remote to remove, and then select Remove.

However, if you are on the title’s Details page, simply navigate to the Remove icon on the right side and select Remove. Rest assured though, your watch progress will not be deleted, even if removed from the “Continue Watching” row.

What if I’m on a mobile device or on the web?

The experience on both mobile and web are similar. From the “Continue Watching” row on mobile, navigate to the tile and tap the three dots, then select Remove. On the web, place your cursor over the tile and click the Remove icon from the top right corner to clear a title from “Continue Watching.”

Disney+ Now Allow Users to Remove Titles from their “Continue Watching”

Why am I not seeing this feature on my device?

This update will be available on the web, Apple TV, and iOS devices starting March 24, with a rollout to additional platforms in the coming weeks.

Why am I seeing titles in my “Continue Watching” row that I’ve never watched?

This often happens when other members of your household stream on your profile. The easiest way to keep this row organized with the titles most relevant to you is by ensuring that everyone has their own profile. Creating and switching profiles on Disney+ is easy — check out these simple instructions! Each Disney+ account can have up to seven profiles, so everyone in your household can have a Disney+ experience that’s all theirs.

Interested in sharing your account with someone outside your household? With Paid Sharing on Disney+, you can add one Extra Member to your account for an additional fee. Alternatively, you can transfer an eligible profile to someone that wants to create their own account.

Is there anything else I should know?

Keep in mind that live events are not available to be removed from the “Continue Watching” row. Live events will automatically disappear from the set after they conclude. For more details, including specific step-by-step instructions, visit the Disney+ Help Center in your region.

“World of Color Happiness!” at Disney California Adventure Park

The all-new “World of Color” show is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day park dedication from seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”

This nighttime spectacular will explore “happy” through a kaleidoscope of emotions, hosted by Joy and the other Emotions from the hit Pixar Animation Studios films “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” Along the way, the Emotions manifest music and moments from other favorite Pixar Animation Studios’ stories, including “Turning Red” and “The Incredibles,” as well as Walt Disney Animation Studios’ stories, including “A Goofy Movie,” “Tangled,” “Encanto” and so many more.

“World of Color Happiness!” will transform Paradise Bay with a brilliant array of signature fountains, dynamic lighting, colorful lasers, fog and dramatic flame effects, painting musical memories with all the wonder that only “World of Color” can create.

The show is an interactive joyride where guests are encouraged to sing and dance along. In addition to featuring classic Disney songs and other iconic favorites, Boyz II Men will lend their legendary R&B vocals in a rendition of “Rainbow Connection,” and FITZ — frontman and namesake of multi-platinum hitmakers Fitz and the Tantrums — will debut a new original song just for “World of Color” titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”

By journey’s end, you’ll discover that happiness is made up of many different emotional colors, and Disneyland Resort is the magical place at the end of the rainbow where all those colors come together.

But that’s not all … the fun starts even before “World of Color” begins with a special message from some familiar faces. With the guidance of Joe the Legal Weasel, more than a dozen of The Muppets will deliver their message through vivid projections and expressive fountains ahead of the show.

"Paint the Night" Parade, Disneyland Park

This fan-favorite, dazzling nighttime parade will make its grand return to Disneyland for the 70th celebration, lighting up Main Street, U.S.A., with stunning color and more than a million brilliant LED lights.

The “Paint the Night” parade features innovative floats, vibrant costumes, incredible special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances. Plus, Anna and Elsa will rejoin the parade on the fan-favorite float inspired by Disney Animation’s “Frozen” when it makes its return to Main Street, U.S.A., for the first time since its initial run.

The show features state-of-the-art projection effects that transform Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America. On select nights, the show will be enhanced with fireworks.

“Tapestry of Happiness” at Disneyland Park

At Disneyland, the facade of “it’s a small world” will come to life each night through light, music and projection effects. “Tapestry of Happiness” will create an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments and memories brought to life in a unique style inspired by the work of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair. It will feature the original 70th celebration theme song “Celebrate Happy,” along with nods to recognizable Disneyland tunes from across the decades.

“Tapestry of Happiness” will be a visual love letter to Disneyland, bringing all of us together through memories of The Happiest Place on Earth. 🔥 Sauce Showdown at Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue Ditches Signature Sauces for Pre-Packaged Ken’s BBQ Sauce! 😳

Cue the smoky drama at Disney’s Animal Kingdom—Flame Tree Barbecue, known for its mouthwatering meats and signature sauces, has made a saucy switch that’s got guests raising their ribs in protest.

🚨 BBQ ALERT: The self-serve signature sauce stations are gone, and in their place? Ken’s Barbecue Sauce—yes, the same bottled stuff you might find at your local grocery store. Say it ain’t so!

For years, Flame Tree Barbecue has been the go-to spot on Discovery Island for delicious slow-smoked chicken, savory pulled pork, and fall-off-the-bone ribs—all perfectly paired with a variety of tangy, spicy, and sweet in-house sauces. But now, guests are being handed a packet or cup of Ken’s BBQ Sauce instead of choosing from the beloved sauce lineup at their leisure.

While Ken’s may be fine in a pinch, many loyal Flame Tree fans are feeling the sting (and not from the spice). The switch is sparking debate across social media, with some wondering if this is a temporary supply change, a cost-saving measure, or a permanent downgrade in Disney dining tradition. We are also left wondering-were the signature BBQ sauces actually signature sauces, or where they just Ken’s in disguise all along?

Luckily, the rest of the Flame Tree Barbecue experience is still smokin’ hot. Guests can still sink their teeth into fan-favorite entrées like the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler, the Baked Mac & Cheese with Pulled Pork, or the zesty Smokehouse Chicken Salad. And if you’re looking to cool off after the barbecue bombshell, try the Frozen Mango or Raspberry Slushies—or go all in with the boozy Island Breeze or fiery Rotten Apple (complete with gummy worms and a glow cube!).

But we want to hear from YOU—
👉 Are you missing the sauce stations already?
👉 Do you think Ken’s cuts it, or is it a hard pass?
