Calorie Contents being listed on some Walt Disney World Quick Service Menus

If you’ve ever been curious to see how many calories your meal at Walt Disney World actually contains, then you’ll be excited to hear that WDW News Today reports that calorie counts have been added to the menus and menu boards at Columbia Harbour House and Backlot Express.

No word on whether or not Disney is working to add the calorie counts to all quick service menus, but we can assume this is definitely a step towards all counter service restaurants adding the content to their menus as well.

Does the addition of the calorie content change the way you’ll eat at Quick Service locations at the parks?

Signs Are Up For Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza Opening This Summer at Disney Springs

The signs are now up for Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza opening this summer at Disney Springs. Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza promises a pizza experience like no other with its build-your-own pizza assembly line featuring artisanal ingredients. From its scratch-made pizza dough and the fresh ingredients, to the open-flame oven, and picnic-style seating, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza will certainly provide great food served in a fun and interactive atmosphere.

Blaze Fast-Fire’d pizza is known for it’s fun and interactive pizza assembly line that allows you to build-your-own pizza. As you move along the assembly line you choose all the amazing toppings you want to build your pizza. Signature pizzas such as “Green Stripe”, featuring pesto drizzle over chicken, or the “White Top”, featuring white cream sauce and bacon, are sure to please even the most discerning pizza aficionado. Both the build-your-own pizzas and the signature pizzas will run for $9.65. You will also have the option to upgrade your dough to high-rise dough, or gluten-free dough, for $2.00 more.

The pizza dough is made fresh daily on site. Their wide variety of toppings are also fresh and ready to be added to your pizza. Along with their fresh ingredients, added by your choosing, you are sure to end up with a pizza that is flavorful and specific to your tastes.

The blazing open-flame oven allows you to see your pizza as it cooks. After your pizza has been built, a pizzasmith will place it into the oven where it will cook for only 180 seconds! That is certainly fast-cooked pizza that boasts fresh flavor.

The restaurant will having seating for 200 people. I am particularly interested in the outdoor patio picnic-style seating. Like many of the new Disney Springs restaurants, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza will have a covered outdoor patio facing the beautiful Disney Springs.

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza is set to open later this summer. If you love pizza then this will be the restaurant to visit. Whether you wish to build-your-own pizza or choose one of their signature pizzas, Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza will be a welcome addition to the Disney Springs area of the Walt Disney World Resort.

New Paramount theme park opening in London for BBC shows

The year 2021 will bring a new theme park to London for all the fans of the BBC properties such as Top Gear, Doctor Who and Sherlock called London Paramount.

There are rumors currently circulating that London Resort Company Holdings (which signed the development agreement with BBC Worldwide) will have be able to us all of the Paramount film library, which includes classical movies such as The Godfather and Mission Impossible.

The park will offer exciting areas for fans, there will be Starfleet Command for all the Tekkies (Star Trek fans) and Whovians (Doctor Who fans) out there. Other areas will include Land of Legends, Paramount Port Bay, Adventure Isle, Myths & Legends Castle, Cartoon Circus. There will also be live comedy and concerts being offered at park’s opening. Down the line they will be adding additional rides and shows.

Sneak Peek of the All new Marvel shows coming to Netflix

In case you haven’t noticed Marvel and Netflix have developed a plan. Starting with Daredevil and then with Jessica Jones, it’s a series of super hero shows that take place in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen. Soon to join the first two series will be Luke Cage and Iron Fist. These will all culminate into one awesome show – The Defenders. Here’s the teaser trailer, fresh from ComicCon.

Netflix and Marvel released this sizzle reel from Daredevil and Jessica Jones, reintroducing us to Luke Cage

Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter in the title role, premieres on September 30th. And in true Netflix fashion drops all 30 episodes at once, for your binging pleasure.

Let’s not forget Iron Fist, starring Finn Jones.

If you have already been watching Daredevil and Jessica Jones, you know this is a dark series, filled with flawed characters and gritty realism. It’s an absolute treat and I’m looking forward to all the upcoming series. If you haven’t been watching, get yourself a Netflix subscription and get on it.

“Paint the Night” Parade Streaming Live from Disneyland Park on July 25th

Watch a live stream of Disneyland Park’s “Paint the Night” parade on Monday, July 25th beginning at 8:50pm PT. Disney Parks Blog will post a link to the streaming event tomorrow. Be sure to tune in a few minutes early to learn about this dazzling parade from the creative team behind the scenes.

“Paint the Night” parade brings some of the most innovative floats, vibrant costumes, dazzling special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances ever presented at Disneyland Resort. This state-of-the-art nighttime parade floods Main Street, U.S.A., with stunning color, fun surprises and more than 1.5 million brilliant LED lights. It was created for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, which continues through September 5.

The streaming event is part of the #DisneyParksLIVE series, which streamed live events from the Disney Parks each Monday during the month of July.

We happened to give you a sneak peek a few days ago into AbracadaBar at Disney’s Boardwalk, the newest lounge to be planned for opening at the Walt Disney World Resort. Today WDW News Today released a sneak peek at the new drink menus, which we’ve all been waiting for!

The menu showcases drinks that all have a “magic” feel to them, and plenty of them have references to Disney movies…can you spot them?

The drinks are categorized into Baffling Beers, Curious Cocktails, and Worldly Wines.

The AbracadaBar soft opened yesterday at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, so I would expect it would be open any day now.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Coming to Disney California Adventure in Summer 2017

We have breaking news from the San Diego Comic-Con where Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, announced to a packed house of fans that the Guardians of the Galaxy are coming to Disney California Adventure park!

Beginning in summer 2017, the outrageous and irreverent gang will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! – a comically high-energy, rocking new adventure. Guests will be right in the mix with characters from the blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

Deep inside his fortress-like collection, the mysterious Taneleer Tivan (aka The Collector) is displaying his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are trapped in customized display cases, suspended over a vast abyss. Unbeknownst to their unscrupulous captor, the intrepid Rocket has escaped and is enlisting the Collector’s VIP guests for help. Guests board a gantry lift, which launches them into a chaotic and hilarious adventure as they join Rocket in an attempt to break his fellow Guardians out of captivity.

The new attraction will anchor a broader universe of Super Heroes that will grow over time at Disney California Adventure park. This exciting new presence will transform the structure currently housing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ (scheduled to close in early 2017) into an epic new adventure, enhancing the breathtaking free fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects to create a variety of ride experiences. Guests will experience multiple random, unique ride profiles in which the rise and fall of the gantry lift will rock to the beat of music inspired by the film’s popular soundtrack.

Will Walt Disney’s first home be demolished?

The first home that Walt Disney rented in Los Angeles was sold and is now in danger of being demolished.

The home is a small two-bedroom bungalow located at 4406 Kingswell Ave. It has been around for more than 100 years.

In 1923 Walt Disney rented the home from his uncle and set up a little studio in the garage. Most of the homes old woodwork is largely intact from Disney’s era, it has been a rental for the last few years and seems to have been sold in a private sale.

The homeowner’s representative, Hyunbae Kim said the home was never listed, the former owner Jeannie Ha has been very ill and a friend of the family made the sale.

When asked about the home Kim said:

“My sister and brother-in-law want to build a single family residence. The one there is quite old. When we bought it we didn’t know until the tenant told us that this is where the Disney studio started. The Valley Relics museum in the San Fernando Valley just called, and they’re interested in moving the property. I’d like to know what Disneyland thinks. Anything is possible. At this point, anything is possible.”

Some local are refusing to let the home be demolished, they are claiming historical significance and asking for an emergency nomination into the Historical Cultural Monument. The nomination came from the new city planning director, Vince Bertoni. If the home does become a Historic Cultural Monument, there will be a property tax reduction, the historical building code can be used for renovations and it cannot be demolished. The Los Angeles Office of Historical Resources put a 45-day hold on the home on Wednesday which say no type of demolition can be done until a final decision is made.

However not all locals agree, since this former Disney home does not have any historical status some locals feel like demolishing it would be fine.

Communications director from Council District 4, Estevan Montemayor said;

“Councilmember Ryu feels very strongly that this property is significant. Today we have reviewed all the options and asked for an emergency [Historic Cultural Monument] nomination. That designation initiates a 75-day stay and will allow the city’s Cultural Heritage Commission to consider its significance.”

The Cultural Heritage Commission and the L.A. City Council will now have the final decision on this Disney piece of history.

Villains Tsum Tsum Collection to Debut in September

I am so excited for the newest Tsum Tsum announcement. The Villains Tsum Tsum collection combines 2 of my biggest Disney loves. These wicked cute little stackables will make their debut September 6th.

The new Villains Tsum Tsum Collection will include: Jafar Genie, Cruella de Vil, Evil Queen, Ursula, Lady Tremaine, Maleficent, Maleficent Dragon and Dr. Facilier. A couple of these villains have made their appearance in previous collections. This however is the first time we’ve had all of these popular deviants together. I was hoping for a Chernabog from Fantasia Tsum Tsum, but the Maleficent dragon is still cute too. These will be available at the Disney Store, Disney Store Online, and select Disney Parks stores on september 6th, and I for one can not wait!
