Florida Man Arrested Over Alleged Bus Line Cutting at Disney World

Disney Bus Line Dispute Ends in Arrest at Yacht Club Resort

A disagreement over a bus line at Walt Disney World’s Yacht Club Resort took a physical turn earlier this year, leading to the arrest of a guest and a court case that concluded just last month.

According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the incident occurred on Saturday, January 4, 2025, around 7:20 p.m. at the Yacht Club’s bus loop. Deputies responded to a call involving a battery between two guests—Matheus Assuncao, the reported victim, and Leonardo Oliveira, the alleged aggressor.

Assuncao told deputies that he had mistakenly exited a Disney Springs-bound bus before realizing it was the wrong stop. Upon the bus driver’s instruction, he and his family began reboarding the bus. That’s when Oliveira, who had been waiting to board, reportedly became angry, believing Assuncao was skipping the line. Assuncao stated that Oliveira forcibly grabbed him by the back of the neck and yanked him backward in retaliation.

A bus driver, witness Avery Williams, confirmed the sequence of events, telling authorities he observed Oliveira yelling, swinging a closed fist at Assuncao’s neck, and then grabbing him from behind and pulling him backwards.

Assuncao, while not physically injured, told deputies he felt ashamed, nervous, and embarrassed following the encounter. Emergency responders treated him at the scene, and he requested his personal information be kept confidential under Marsy’s Law.

Oliveira, a Portuguese speaker, communicated with law enforcement through Disney Security Officer Anna Soto, who translated his statements. He admitted to grabbing the back of Assuncao’s jacket but denied grabbing his neck.

Authorities ultimately arrested Oliveira and transported him to the Orange County Booking and Release Center (BRC). On February 20, 2025, he entered a plea agreement, paid $474 in fines and court costs, and resolved the misdemeanor battery charge.

Even in a place known for magic and joy, this incident serves as a reminder that patience and understanding go a long way—especially in crowded spaces like theme park transportation hubs.

Tennessee Man Charged with Felony Battery After Altercation at Magic Kingdom

A family vacation took a serious turn for one Tennessee man during a visit to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. According to records filed with the Orange County Clerk of Courts, Brandon Lynn Hill has been charged with battery on a uniformed/licensed security officer, a felony under Florida law, following an incident on the night of November 25, 2024.

The altercation occurred during the nightly fireworks celebration, when Hill and his family were approached by Disney Security regarding a safety concern. According to the official report filed by Deputy Rizzo of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Security Host Monica Ross asked Hill’s family to move, as they were reportedly blocking a guest walkway. Ross, who was clearly identified as security by her uniform and Disney-issued credentials, informed the family she was responsible for maintaining clear access during the event.

Ross stated that Hill and his wife became argumentative, claiming they had no space to move due to the crowd. Tensions escalated when Hill requested to see Ross’s nameplate. Although Ross verbally provided her name, she declined to reveal her nameplate, which was covered by her security jacket. According to Ross, Hill then grabbed her coat in an attempt to uncover the nameplate, prompting her to yank it away and firmly tell him not to touch her. She has since exercised her rights under Marsy’s Law and has chosen to keep her personal information confidential. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported.

Deputies later met with Hill and his family near the park’s front entrance. Hill acknowledged the verbal argument and confirmed he had asked for the officer’s name, but denied ever physically touching Ross. Disney Security reported that Hill had also been involved in a separate argument with another cast member earlier that same day, though he was not positively identified in that incident.

Following the investigation and Ross’s sworn statement, Hill was issued a trespass warning from Walt Disney World and placed under arrest. Authorities cited probable cause for the arrest based on the victim’s testimony, the nature of her uniformed role, and Hill’s out-of-state residency in Enville, Tennessee. He was transported without incident to the Orange County Booking and Release Center.

During an initial court appearance, a judge found probable cause for the charge. Hill has since been granted pretrial release and allowed to return to Tennessee while awaiting further court proceedings.

The Sanderson Sisters Are Summoning Spooky Season Once Again at Disney World!

While Disney has yet to cast its spell and reveal the full details of this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, one wickedly exciting update has just floated in on a broomstick—the Sanderson Sisters are returning to Magic Kingdom! That’s right, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is officially back for 2025, and Disney Live Entertainment has begun the search for singers and dancers to join the hauntingly fun production.

According to a new casting notice posted on the Disney Auditions website, vocalists and dancers local to Central Florida are being sought for roles in the fan-favorite show, which brings the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus back to the mortal world for one spellbinding night of mischief and music. The stage show will once again be performed exclusively during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which takes place on select nights from August through October at Magic Kingdom Park.

The auditions are being held via online submission, with a deadline of April 11, 2025, at 11:30 PM ET. Dancers should be versatile, with strong jazz technique and experience in styles like hip hop and Fosse. Acting chops are also a plus, especially since dancers will interact directly with the Sisters on stage.

Vocalists are being cast in the roles of Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson, and Disney is on the lookout for performers who can channel the personalities—and voices—of Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker. Candidates should have strong comic timing, great harmony skills, and the ability to move well while performing.

Callbacks for selected performers are scheduled for mid-May in Orlando, and rehearsals for the show are expected to begin in July. Those interested must be 18 or older and eligible to work in the U.S.

As for the party itself, we’re still waiting for Disney to officially announce the dates and ticket information for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Last year, tickets went on sale on May 8, so we’re likely just weeks away from more frightfully fun details.

Each year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party transforms Magic Kingdom into a ghoulishly delightful celebration. Guests can enjoy rare character meet-and-greets, lower wait times for popular attractions, exclusive entertainment, and even Trick-or-Treating throughout the park. But for many fans, it’s the return of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular that truly casts a spell on the night.
