A Tale as Old as Time is coming to theaters soon in an all new live action version. In anticipation for this event, many books inspired by the movie have arrived on the scene. It only makes sense, considering how much Belle loves books, the Beauty and the Beast Novelization takes us on a journey that follows the movie.

Belle has dreamed of adventures like the ones she reads in her books, and of traveling the world outside her small town. But when Belle’s father is taken prisoner by a beast in an enchanted castle, her path is forever changed. Enjoy this tale as old as time about adventure and love, about looking past first appearances, and about the inner Beauty and Beast in all of us in this beautiful novelization of the upcoming star-studded film!

Disneyland Resort Honors Oscar Martinez As He Celebrates 60th Service Anniversary

Oscar Martinez, the longest-tenured cast member at the Disneyland Resort, recently celebrated his 60th year working at the resort – the last 50 of them working at the café on Main Street, U.S.A. Originally, Oscar worked in Fantasyland quick-service locations, and over the years, trained many new cast members, including grill cooks from Tokyo Disneyland.

After years spent whipping up breakfasts and lunches for guests, Oscar now spends a lot of his time greeting guests at Carnation Café, where his breakfast potatoes are featured in a menu item named in his honor.

On Jan. 17, a couple of weeks after his Dec. 29 service anniversary, Oscar was presented with a one-of-a-kind award created just for him at Walt Disney Imagineering. The inspiration was “Cinderella”, a movie that has never been used to help design a service anniversary award.

Celine Dion To Perform Original Song For Live-Action “Beauty And The Beast”

Five-time Grammy winning and best-selling recording artist Celine Dion will perform an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” for Disney’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast.” The song will also be included on the film’s soundtrack.

Written by eight-time Oscar®-winning composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin”) and veteran lyricist and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (“The Lion King,” “Evita”), “How Does A Moment Last Forever” is an emotional ballad about holding onto life’s precious moments. Portions of the song are performed throughout the film and interpolated into the underscore before Dion’s full-length version debuts in the film’s custom main-on-end title design.

Says Dion, “Being a part of the original ‘Beauty and the Beast’ was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again.”
President of Music for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production, Mitchell Leib, approached the artist on behalf of the project with the idea of recording one of the three new songs written for the film. “Celine was the unanimous choice of the filmmakers and studio to perform this song,” says Leib, “And everyone involved with the film is thrilled she agreed to be part of this new live-action adaptation.”

Dion originally performed the duet “Beauty and the Beast” – featuring Menken’s haunting melody and two-time Oscar-winner Howard Ashman’s unforgettable lyrics – with Peabo Bryson for the animated film. The song became an instant classic and went on to receive an Academy Award®, Golden Globe® and three GRAMMY Awards.
Menken also provides the film score along with new recordings of the classic songs from the animated film written by himself and Ashman. The original motion picture soundtrack will be released by Walt Disney Records on March 10, 2017. You can pre-order it here.

Owen Wilson Voice of Lightning McQueen Named Grand Marshal For 59th Annual DAYTONA 500

Actor Owen Wilson, the voice of the animated character Lightning McQueen in Disney•Pixar’s upcoming movie “Cars 3,” will serve as Grand Marshal for the 59th annual DAYTONA 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race on Feb. 26 at Daytona International Speedway.

The DAYTONA 500, the season-opening race for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, will begin at 2 p.m. (TV – FOX, FOX Deportes; Radio – MRN Radio, SiriusXM) following Wilson delivering the famous “Drivers, start your engines” command to the 40-car field. In addition to giving the command, Wilson will ride in one of the Grand Marshal cars during pace laps prior to the green flag of the 200-lap, 500-mile race and attend the drivers meeting.

“Cars 3” opens nationwide on June 16. Wilson, who voiced Lightning McQueen in “Cars” (2006) and “Cars 2” (2011), is also known for starring roles in a variety of hit comedy films including “Wedding Crashers,” “Meet the Parents,” ”Zoolander” and “The Royal Tenenbaums.” Wilson stars in the upcoming “Wonder” and the Woody Harrelson-directed live film “Lost in London.”

“Owen Wilson is one of America’s most beloved comedic actors and his voice has brought Lightning McQueen to life for millions of movie-goers over the last 10 years,” said Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile. “His star-power, and of course his personality, are perfect fits for ‘The Great American Race.’”

Planet Hollywood Observatory Delays Opening

We had mentioned recently that rumor had it that Planet Hollywood Observatory in Disney Springs was taking reservations for January 22nd and on. Even though there was no official announcement of an opening date from Disney, we hoped this meant it was a for sure thing that the newly renovated restaurant was opening next week.

However ,we hear today that our friend Kenny The Pirate had his January 23rd reservation cancelled by the restaurant and received a phone call stating that the new opening Date is January 27th.

We also had a Chip & Co. writer scheduled to attend an event today with a meet and greet with Guy Fieri at the restaurant, and that was cancelled as well. We were told they would get back to us with any rescheduling information.

Disney Store Reveals an all new 30th Anniversary Pin Set and backpack

Disney Cruise Line’s Remy has been honored by Porthole Cruise Magazine’s 2017 Editor-in-Chief Award for Best Specialty Restaurant. The award recognizes “favorite travel experiences” that left “amazing impressions in terms of service, quality, and memorable moments” in the opinion of Editor-in-Chief Chief Bill Panoff.

The French-inspired fine dining restaurant is adult-exclusive and can be found onboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. It is named after the tiny star and master chef of the Disney Pixar film “Ratatouille”. Remy transports guests to an authentic fine-dining restaurant in the City of Lights. The elegant dining room is softly lit and designed in a timeless Art Nouveau style with tasteful nods to the film, including artful appearances of Remy.

The gourmet selection was masterfully crafted by Chef Arnaud Lallement of l’Assiette Champenoise—a Michelin 3-star restaurant just outside Reims, France—and Chef Scott Hunnel from award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World Resort. The menu features decadent offerings such as smoked bison with fennel and blood oranges from Chef Scott Hunnel and langoustines royale (Norway Lobster with Caesar sauce) from Chef Arnaud Lallement.
