In a move that marks the end of a high-profile chapter in Hollywood history, the House of Mouse will vacate the storied studio space by the end of this year, ahead of its lease expiration in March 2026.

According to reporting by Deadline, the decision comes six years after Disney’s $71.3 billion mega-merger with 21st Century Fox, a deal that shook the entertainment world like a blockbuster plot twist. Since then, Disney has occupied a major footprint on the lot, with FX and 20th Television continuing to call the place home. Now, the remaining teams—under the leadership of John Landgraf and Karey Burke—will be heading for the hills. Specifically, the Burbank hills, as Disney consolidates operations at its original creative headquarters.

While Disney’s exit might feel like the closing of a curtain, Fox is hardly packing up the popcorn. The studio lot, a Hollywood heavyweight since 1915, is still considered prime real estate—“second to none” according to a Fox spokesperson. Surprise! The Live-Action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Already Has a Sequel on the Way

The dragons haven’t even taken flight on the big screen yet, but Universal Pictures just dropped a fiery surprise: a sequel to the upcoming live-action How to Train Your Dragon remake is already in the works!

Announced during Universal’s panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, fans were caught off guard (in the best way possible) when a short, 13-second video revealed the title How to Train Your Dragon 2 — confirming its theatrical release date as June 11, 2027. That’s two years after the first film, which is scheduled to soar into theaters on June 13, 2025.

The teaser clip is brief but bold, simply showing off a sleek silver logo for the sequel, leaving us with more questions than answers. Will the sequel be a faithful live-action remake of the animated How to Train Your Dragon 2? Will it take a brand-new flight path? Universal is keeping those details under wraps for now — but the hype is already sky-high.

Disney is resuming its luggage delivery service for guests staying at select Disney Resort hotels starting TODAY!

This service allows guests to check their luggage directly at the resort for their Southwest Airlines flights departing from Orlando International Airport (MCO), eliminating the need to check bags at the airport and streamlining the departure process. This service was previously available before the COVID-19 pandemic and is now being reintroduced for guests’ convenience.

Here are the details:

How It Works

Save time at the airport by sending your bags ahead to Southwest Airlines. Simply follow these steps:

At the beginning of your stay, check in at your Disney Value Resort hotel and call or visit Luggage Assistance to take advantage of this service. For a smoother experience, leave your inbound Southwest Airlines tags on your bags.
The day before your departure, check in for your Southwest Airlines flight online.
Drop off your bags at Luggage Assistance in the Resort hotel lobby area by the required drop off time. Please be aware that you will need to provide a valid form of photo identification in order to drop off your bags. You can also call Luggage Assistance from your in-room telephone to ask for help with your bags.
Head to the airport, skip the check-in line, enjoy your flight and pick up your bags at baggage claim when you arrive at your destination.

This service is subject to change or cancellation without notice or liability.

When to Drop Off Your Bags

It is strongly encouraged that you drop off your bags the night before your scheduled departure. However, if you need some extra time, you can do the following:

When Flying Before 1:00 PM: Drop your bags off by 1:00 AM the night before your flight.
When Flying After 1:00 PM: Drop your bags off at least 4 hours before departure or no later than 1:00 PM—whichever comes first.

Disney Files Permit for Re-Roofing of Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle Getting a Royal Roof Refresh at Magic Kingdom

Big changes are coming to the heart of Magic Kingdom—Walt Disney World has filed a Notice of Commencement for re-roofing Cinderella Castle! While the iconic structure will remain the picture-perfect backdrop for your family photos, eagle-eyed guests may notice a bit of behind-the-scenes magic unfolding over the coming months.

According to the newly filed permit, the roofing company Tecta America Southeast has been contracted for the project. Approved on April 1, the permit remains active through March 27, 2026—but don’t be surprised if the work begins much sooner than that. After all, even fairy tale castles need a little TLC every now and then!

The castle last received a magical makeover in 2020 ahead of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration. That transformation brought a striking “EARidescent” color scheme to the beloved landmark, giving it a shimmering pale pink hue, royal blue rooftops, and elegant gold accents. Prior to that, Cinderella Castle had a more muted gray-and-teal look—but Disney fans quickly fell in love with its new regal glow.

As roof work begins, guests may see scaffolding or construction activity around the castle. While we don’t yet know if the re-roofing will change the look of the castle in any noticeable way, it’s likely part of routine upkeep to ensure this royal residence remains as stunning as ever.

So if your next visit includes a glimpse of a hardhat or two near the turrets, just know: it’s all part of keeping the magic alive.

Disney has added additional Good To Go Days for Annual Passholders For April 2025

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, get ready to pack those park bags—three new Good-to-Go Days have just been added for April 2025! Disney has officially announced that April 7, April 9, and April 10 will be Good-to-Go Days, meaning Passholders can visit any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks without needing a park reservation.

These dates join today, April 2, as the currently announced Good-to-Go Days for the month, continuing a trend of Disney revealing these dates roughly a week at a time. The move offers more flexibility for Passholders eager to visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom without locking in plans far in advance.

What Are Good-to-Go Days?

For those new to the concept, Good-to-Go Days are select days when Annual Passholders can enter the parks without a theme park reservation—subject to blockout dates and park capacity limits. It’s part of Disney’s evolving approach to bring added spontaneity and convenience to the Annual Pass experience.

Passholders can find out which days are designated as Good-to-Go by checking:

The Annual Passholder Admissions Calendar
The home screen of the My Disney Experience app (if their pass is linked)

If a Passholder has a park reservation for a date that later becomes a Good-to-Go Day, the reservation will be automatically removed, though it will still appear under My Plans. Importantly, it will no longer count against the Passholder’s maximum number of reservations held.

With April now offering four reservation-free days (and likely more to come), Disney is making it easier than ever for Passholders to enjoy some spur-of-the-moment magic.
