Disney takes Number Three Spot as one of the Most Reputable Companies in the World

There is no denying Disney is a household name. And according to Forbes, The Walt Disney Company has a claimed the 3rd spot on this year’s list of the 100 most reputable companies in the world. Bringing Disney down from the number two spot they held last year.

The list is put together every year by The Reputation Institute. The ranking is based on several things including thoughts on products & services, innovation, workplace, governance, citizenship, leadership, and performance during the first quarter of the year. Feedback was given by 170,000 respondents, who gave Disney’s highest marks in the area of performance.

Although I’m a bit sad to see Disney move down from the number two spot, I’m not surprised to still see them high on this list. Are you surprised to see that Disney takes Number Three?

Twenty One Pilots Drummer Josh Dun enjoyed a magical day at Walt Disney World. Dun was all smiles flying high aboard Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland. Dun took a break and headed over to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for some fun while in town on tour, Dun and the rest of Twenty One Pilots were in Tampa for a concert.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Closed Due To Cold Weather

It looks like Disney fans will have a new way to cool off at Disney very soon. A new family-style raft attraction, ‘Miss Adventure Falls’ is coming to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park this spring. And with no height requirement it can be enjoyed by the whole family. Construction is almost complete on ‘Miss Adventure Falls’ and it has been announced that the attraction will open March 12!

Get ready for your own adventure as you hop aboard the four person raft as thrills and excitement await you at every turn. From your raft you will see the many precious treasures collected by Captain Mary Oceaneer – a sea-faring treasure hunter whose haul was caught in a rogue typhoon. The final touches to Miss Adventure Falls are being added during the next few weeks so it can be ready when Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon reopens March 12th.

While browsing on Amazon this past week for backpacks to wear at Disney I stumbled across these very cool silver and gold Mickey Mouse Drawstrings Backpacks and matching lanyards.

They were very neat and something anyone could carry at the parks. They actually come in a a variety of bundles:

So what do you think? I think this is a great lightweight option to carry into the parks. The lanyard is nice as I can store my ID, Gift Cards, and Disney Visa into the parks with me.

New Avatar Collectible Pins Release in Anticipation of Pandora Opening

With the anticipation of the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar opening this summer growing, a new limited edition Avatar Pin collection has been announced! The new Avatar Collectible Pins begin arriving today, March 2nd at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park!

This limited edition pin collection will be the first of many new and unique merchandise products launching as part of Pandora, that will captivate guests with an in-park experience like never before, and immerse them in this new and exotic world.

Steven Miller from Disney Parks Blog talked with Eric Herbst, the merchandiser for Disney Pins, to learn more about this countdown collection.

“With the addition of this new land to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we wanted a way to continue the excitement leading up to the grand opening,” explained Erin. “This countdown pin collection features the beautiful travel posters created by Alpha Centauri Expeditions, the exclusive provider of tours to Pandora. We thought guests would love collecting these posters as they prepare to journey to another world.”

A new pin will be released each month from March till the grand opening in May. The first pin in the collection, showing the dark forest filled with bio luminescence lighting will be released March 2. The next pin in the countdown will arrive in April and is seen in the middle above. The last pin, which shows a family walking through Pandora, will launch on May 4. Each individual pin will have an edition size of 1,250, and will be released at Discovery Trading Company in the park.

The limited edition Avatar Collectible Pins are inspired by the travel posters designed by Artist Dylan Cole. Dylan provided design work on Disney’s “Maleficent,” and is currently Co-Production Designer for the upcoming “Avatar” motion picture sequels. If you missed the debut of the posters at D-23, you can check them out now near Tiffins restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

There are two “completer pins” available for this collection, but they will only be found in the five-pin boxed set. This set will contain all five travel posters as collectible pins, and have an edition size of 250. This full collection set will be released during the opening of the new Avatar land on May 27.

Unlike many special merchandise items that have been released lately, these pins will not be available via Shop Disney Parks app or the Disney Parks online store.

Adventures by Disney will offer new themed European river cruises in 2018 along with an additional food and wine themed sailing along the Rhine. Bookings for 2018 river cruise vacations open on March 2, 2017. Guests can save $500 per person on select river cruises between June 17, 2018 and October 8, 2018 when their trip is booked by May 1, 2017.

Beauty and the Beast Themed Experiences

New activity options for summer 2018 include all-new “Beauty and the Beast” themed experiences on Rhine river sailings. Be immersed in a tale as old as time during a special themed dinner, as well as other unique culinary experiences inspired by the film. “Trolls 2” Announced By DreamWorks Animation and Universal

DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures announced that “Trolls 2” is coming to theaters on April 10, 2020.

With the announcement they mentioned that stars Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake will reprise the roles of Poppy and Branch in the new musical. No word yet on whether or not Timberlake will contribute music, but it seems likely, as he produced the soundtrack for the first film. He performed his Academy Award-nominated Trolls song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” to open the Oscars broadcast this past Sunday.

“Trolls” was directed by Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrm, from a script by Erica Rivinoja. The film, which earned $340 million worldwide, also features the voices of Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Quvenzhané Wallis and John Cleese.
