Disney’s Grand Californian Resort Closing Kids Club

It appears that Pinocchio’s Workshop at Disney’s Grand Californian is closing. We hear from The DIS that due to the fact that guests don’t take advantage of the kid’s club/babysitting service, that they are closing the location. Pinocchio’s Workshop is a childcare center/kids club where kids aged 5-12 can spend the evening for a small fee, while their parents go out to dinner or enjoy the parks for a little adults-only fun.

The DIS states the final day is March 11th, and we confirmed that by checking the hours on Disneyland’s website, where we saw the last day with operating hours listed is indeed March 11th. This is unfortunate for any guests who were planning on utilizing this wonderful service on their future Disneyland Vacation. What do you think of the fact that Pinocchio’s Workshop is closing?

“Star Wars Rebels” Gets A Season Four!

Calling all rebels.. And all Star Wars fans for that matter. “Star Wars Rebels” has been renewed for a fourth season. There are still some episodes remaining in what has been a fantastic third season, and I’ve heard there are big surprises still ahead. Last night’s episode took us right up to the creation of the Rebel Alliance. Season four is likely to take us all the way up to the start of Rogue One, or pretty close. If you haven’t been watching, there’s no better time than now to start.

Star Wars Rebels tells the story of how the rebellion came together between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope and so far has done an excellent job of bridging the two eras in the Star Wars saga by bringing together characters from the prequel trilogy era like Darth Maul, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex and the original trilogy like Princess Leia, Lando Calrission and Darth Vader as well as fan favorites from the now labeled “Legends” (the old “expanded universe” of Star Wars stories) of the Star Wars galaxy like Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Star Wars Rebels stars Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb, Tiya Sircar as Sabine, Taylor Gray as Ezra, Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex, Captain Gregor and Commander Wolffe, Sam Witwer as Darth Maul, David Oyelowo as Agent Kallus and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Season four should premiere sometime in the Fall.

Walt Disney World Introduces Disney Nail Designs by Jamberry

One thing I’ve been saying that the Walt Disney World Resort needs, is Disney inspired manicures! Now guests can enjoy a touch of Disney magic for their nails, with the new Disney Nail Designs by Jamberry! These nail designs are now available at locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

You can choose from over 50 Disney character designs, including Cinderella, Pocahontas, Lion King and more! Where oh where can you find these magical nail enhancements? The Disney Nail Designs by Jamberry can be added as an enhancement to any nail service at Senses Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as well as at Walt Disney World salons for $2.50 per nail.

Maximizing Your Disney Dining Plan Snack Credits at Animal Kingdom Food Kiosks

We see our fans post all the time about having extra snack credits at the end of their trip. Another topic that comes up is how to stretch out the meals when you have a Signature Meal, or Dinner Show Meal, booked under your Disney Dining Plan. Here is some great information for maximizing your snack credits at the Animal Kingdom Food Kiosks.

The Eight Spoon Cafe, an Animal Kingdom Food Kiosk, has a menu with every single item being a snack credit covered under the Disney Dining Plan. The Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Shrimp and Sweet Chili Sauce, at $6.49, is a great deal for the use of a snack credit. We love the portion size of the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork and, at $6.29, this is also a good option. If you are traveling with little ones, the plain Baked Macaroni & Cheese, at $4.29, is still a decent use of a snack credit. We recommend grabbing a free iced water or purchasing a beverage so as not to use a snack credit on a $3.00 item. This kiosk is a great option for a light lunch when your meal credits are running low.

The Smiling Crocodile , another Animal Kingdom Food Kiosk, offers snack-sized open-faced sandwiches. At $5.29-$5.49, these little toasted ciabatta bread sandwiches, while not the best use of a snack credit, will work as a snack choice during the day. The Turkey BLT offers a decent portion of turkey providing a bit of protein to fill you up. The Salmon BLT is quite salty and if you are not a fan of Smoked Salmon, this one is not for you.

Caravan Road food kiosk offers some interesting snack choices. Edamame is a good option for feeling full on pure protein, but at $3.99, it is not really the best use of a snack credit. The Teriyaki Beef Slider is very flavorful even though the portion size is quite small. The best option here is the Asian Noodle Salad. At $6.99, this filling salad is a good use of a snack credit.

Mr. Kamal’s offers snack-sized food options. As portion sizes go, this food kiosk does not turn out to be a good choice for a replacement meal. However, if you order the Samosa, along with something else from another food kiosk, you can make a small meal out of it.

Terra Treats offers Buffalo Chicken Wings for $5.99, which is a pretty good use of a snack credit. For an allergy-friendly option, the flavored Chirps Chips and Rice Chips, at $6.69 each, provide a great snack option for allergy conscious individuals.

Cast Member Zayda was incredibly sweet and very helpful. Terra Treats, an Animal Kingdom Food Kiosk, used to be the only kiosk you could find allergy-friendly snack options. The popular allergy-friendly doughnuts and bagels, that used to be available at Terra Treats, can now be found directly across the walkway at Starbucks. You can also find allergy-friendly muffins and bagels at Harambe Marketplace. These changes took place about 6 weeks ago so that folks with allergies would have snack options spread out around the Animal Kingdom, rather than just at one location. All restaurants have allergy-friendly menus as well. Guests are encouraged to ask about these options at each location as they are not necessarily listed on the posted menus.

When you are utilizing the Disney Dining Plan on a tight budget, it is great to know that you can choose snacks that go beyond the standard ice cream, popcorn, and pretzels. Using your snack credits wisely allows you to obtain the best use of your money spent on your Walt Disney World vacation. Maximizing your Disney Dining Plan Snack Credits at the Animal Kingdom Food Kiosks is certainly one way to get the best bang for your buck while creating a meal out of a snack option.

Disney’s Magical Express Adds a New Pick-Up and Drop-Off Location at Bay Lake Tower

Disney’s Magical Express Service has added a new pick-up and drop-off location at the entrance to Bay Lake Tower. The previous location required guests to walk to and from Disney’s Contemporary Resort next door. The new location will certainly make the service more convenient for guests staying at Bay Lake Tower, which is the Disney Vacation Club Resort at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Disney’s Magical Express services provides complimentary motor-coach transportation and luggage delivery between Orlando International Airport and select Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Animal Kingdom’s Glowing Lotus Blossom Specialty Popcorn Bucket Has Limited Time Refills

Specialty Popcorn Buckets make fun Disney vacation souvenirs. Prior to the new Rivers of Light show opening, the Lotus Blossom became the symbol for the Specialty Popcorn Bucket on offer at Animal Kingdom. A recent purchase of an Animal Kingdom Glowing Lotus Blossom Specialty Popcorn Bucket for $15.99 led to the discovery that, for a limited time, this bucket can be refilled, only at Animal Kingdom, for the standard $1.39!

We purchased our Lotus Blossom Specialty Popcorn Bucket at The Feeding Ground kiosk. While not a Glow-with-the-Show option, this specialty bucket has a battery-powered button that allows the it to glow in a variety of colors. Since this bucket is refillable for a limited time, at Animal Kingdom only, you can refill it to enjoy during the Rivers of Light Show in the evening. You also have the option to purchase the standard Animal Kingdom refillable bucket for $9.39. For budget conscious guests, this is a great option and can be refilled at any of the Walt Disney World Parks.

Cast Members were not sure how long the Animal Kingdom’s Glowing Lotus Blossom Specialty Popcorn Bucket will be refillable. This option is not advertised on any signs, so be sure to ask before purchasing.

Poolside ‘Salon by the Springs’ Opening at Wilderness Lodge

Indulging in poolside manicures sound like a slice of heaven to you? Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will soon be offering guests poolside manicures, pedicures, and hair services at Salon by the Springs. This brand new salon will be located at the former Trout Pass Pool Bar.

With the opening of Geyser Point Bar & Grill, Trout Pass Pool Bar has been closed to make way for the new salon. An opening date has not been announced for Salon by the Springs, but we will be sure to let you know when you can begin to schedule your poolside pampering.

Many of you know Disneyland Paris is just days away from celebrating 25 years of magic. It’s a huge milestone that began with an agreement between The Walt Disney Company and French authorities 30 years ago.

To mark the signing of the “Main Agreement” in 1987 that led to creation of Euro Disneyland and then Disneyland Paris, French President François Hollande paid a special visit to Disneyland Paris and spent time with cast members who make magic for guests every day. Hollande also spoke about the enormous role Disneyland Paris has played in contributing to the French economy.

Disneyland Paris is the leading tourist destination in Europe with nearly 14 million visitors each year. Over the past 25 years, Disneyland Paris has welcomed more than 320 million visitors, created €68 billion in added value for the French economy, and generated an average of 56,000 jobs each year. The resort is one of the largest employers in France with 15,000 cast members in more than 500 roles, representing 100 nationalities and speaking 20 different languages.

I’m so excited about this enchanting new Disney inspired nail polish from Etsy indie polish designer KSeaGalesNails! This nail polish is inspired by none other than, that peculiar mademoiselle Belle!

This golden hued beauty and an antiqued colored polish called “A Tale as Old as Time” are the newest inspirations to decorate our nails with. As with all of their polishes they are completely homemade, hand mixed and blended. Full-size bottles come in a new bottle that is 15mL in volume with a new flat wide brush and black cap.
