Epcot’s EGGstravaganza Takes You On A Easter Egg Hunt Around The World

Epcot's EGGstravaganza Takes You On A Easter Egg Hunt Around The World

Spring Egg Hunting brings back fond childhood memories for many of us.  Even if you do not celebrate Easter, an egg hunt is so much fun to do as a family.  Epcot’s EGGstravaganza will take you on a spectacular Disney-style egg hunt around the World Showcase.

Maps can be purchased from Pin Traders in Epcot’s Future World, or at the Disney Traders shop, in the Port of Entry area for Epcot’s World Showcase.  The cost for the map is $5.99 plus tax.  The object of the hunt is to visit each country around the World Showcase in search of a giant Disney Character Egg, placed strategically, somewhere within that country.  Some eggs are indoors and some are outdoors.  We can assure you that it was a bit challenging in a few of the countries this year!  We were also told that it is possible for the eggs to “move” from one week to the next.  Once you have identified the hidden egg for that country, place the appropriate sticker in the designated space on your map for that country.

Once you have identified all of the hidden eggs, bring your completed map to the Redemption Location, inside Disney Traders, to claim your prize.  You can choose from a variety of Character Eggs.  One egg choice for each completed map.

Are you ready for an Egg Hunt around the World?  We cannot think of a better place for an egg hunt than the Walt Disney World Resort.  Epcot’s EGGstravaganza is a great way to explore the World Showcase and learn something about other countries while enjoying some quality time with family and friends.

Will you be experiencing Epcot’s EGGstravaganza this Spring?  Please leave our comments in the box below.

Enchanting Review – the Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland

Enchanting Review - the Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland

Last week I headed over to the parks to partake more in California Adventures Food & Wine festival, but also to give the Red Rose Taverne a shot. I do love it when new things pop up in Disneyland, and I always have to try!

First things, yes the rumors are true, the line is crazy-town long. I popped over around 2:30 or 3pm hoping to have missed the lunch crowd, but alas that wasn’t the case. It was a Sunday, so maybe that had something to do with it. They were also very much out of the rose cups, but I didn’t expect there to be any at that time of day. To be honest, I didn’t see anyone in the parks with one either – so maybe they started the day without them.

Enchanting Review - the Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland

The branding of the Red Rose Taverne is spot on, but I am not surprised, it’s Disney! They don’t do anything halfway. It’s mildly reminiscent of the Village Haus (which it was before), but all the décor is “Beauty and the Beast” – from the stained glass door (which I wasn’t able to see because the line had it propped open), to the art on the walls.

To the menu! I am one of those people who usually has to ask for an alternative menu, because I’m a vegetarian. But even before I set foot in the restaurant I checked out the menu online and was completely overjoyed that there was a good vegetarian option. Not just a typical “veggie patty” but actually vegetables. It’s the Enchanted Cauli-Flower Sandwich. A thick cut of cauliflower, battered green beans, lettuce and tomato – let me tell you it’s a mouth full. I highly recommend it, for any of you non-meat eaters out there. (Sorry I didn’t get pics of the food… We ate it).

Enchanting Review - the Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland

The complete opposite of any vegetarian choice is Beast’s Burger. It’s a good-sized patty, with slow cooked meat atop that – then the caramelized onions, cheese and lettuce. I got full just looking at it. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy it, as it was gone before too long!

Enchanting Review - the Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland

After the meal, there is an exit right into a Beauty and the Beast gift shop. Which is anymore, usual Disney style. It’s not very big, but it’s a nice place if you’re looking for anything B&tB specific.

The Red Rose Taverne is a pop-up, and as much as I enjoyed The Village Haus, I kinda hope this one sticks around for a while. I like the new options and am hoping to try the salads and the flatbreads. Since this location is the only eatery in Fantasyland, maybe they could find a place to fit Red Rose along with Village Haus – we could also use more breakfast places in Disneyland (hint hint!).

End result – go try Red Rose Taverne! For a grab and go, counter service restaurant it’s worth the visit!! Have you tried The Red Rose Taverne? What did you think?

Bonus pic!! While in California Adventure we spotted these rose cake pops at Trolley Treats. I thought this would be a good place to share them with you!

Another Restaurant to Undergo Major Refurbishment at Disney Springs

Disney Springs

Disney Springs

Paddlefish, formerly Fulton’s Crab House, just reopened from a major refurbishment and now it’s Portobello’s turn. News coming out of Walt Disney World is that Portobello will be closing after dinner service on April 23rd, 2017 and will not reopen until Fall 2017.

When the updated restaurant reopens, it will feature an authentic Italian concept, including a family-style menu along with craft beers and wines. The new menu will be developed by James Beard Award-winner Chef, Tony Mantuano. Mantuano currently owns several dining establishments in Chicago, Illinois.

Portobello and Paddlefish are both owned by Levy Restaurants and are side-by-side in The Landing at Disney Springs.

“You’re Welcome” Music Video Featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda And Jordan Fisher

"You're Welcome" Music Video Featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda And Jordan Fisher

Oscar®-nominated, Tony®-, Emmy®- and Grammy®-winning songwriter/composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hollywood Records artist Jordan Fisher are featured in the music video for “You’re Welcome.” Shot on location in New York City and London, the clip was directed by Declan Whitebloom (James Blunt, Taylor Swift, Leona Lewis, One Direction). The video debuted on VEVO today.

Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and performed by Dwayne Johnson in the film, “You’re Welcome” showcases the colorful personality of the demigod Maui. Hollywood Records artist Jordan Fisher teamed up with Miranda for the end-credit version of the track. After a breakout performance in the Emmy Award-winning production of Grease: Live, Jordan Fisher released his debut single last year, “All About Us,” which soared to the top of the Billboard Pop charts. Fisher, who opened for Alicia Keys at last year’s Apple Music Festival, just wrapped his run in the Broadway cast of “Hamilton.” Fisher is set to release his full-length album later this year.

Sixteen weeks after its release, the “Moana” soundtrack has spent 12 weeks in the Billboard 200’s Top 10, and has been certified gold by the R.I.A.A. The soundtrack is No. 5 this week on the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, “Moana” videos have exceeded 500 million views worldwide.

Last week, Disney’s “Moana” crossed the $600 million mark at the global box office. “Moana” was nominated for two Oscars and two Golden Globes, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“How Far I’ll Go”).

The in-home release of “Moana” is currently available for purchase on Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD/3D. The release is packaged with fun-filled extras showcasing an all-new mini-movie, the charismatic cast, famed filmmakers, dynamic musical team, the beautiful people and cultures of the Pacific Islands, a deleted song, deleted scenes, and more!

Autopia at Disneyland officially gets New Look and Story

Autopia at Disneyland officially gets New Look and Story

We had mentioned last year that Autopia at Disneyland was going to be getting a new look during its most recent  lengthy refurbishment. The refurbishment was due in part to the classic Disneyland attraction getting a new sponsor, the auto giant Honda. The cars have been repainted in Honda colors and also have a new storyline as well.

Autopia at Disneyland officially gets New Look and Story

The attraction now features Honda’s ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) humanoid robot and its new robotic friend, Bird – the first character created especially for this attraction – as they embark on the ultimate road trip. These new scenes feature ASIMO and Bird as they plan their trip, load up their Honda vehicle and experience adventures that take them from a campground to the sky beyond.

“Moana” As Told By Lego!

“Moana” As Told By Lego!

Today Disney unveiled the first episode of its newest digital series, “As Told By Lego” a spinoff of the popular “As Told By Emoji

Made in collaboration with LEGO, the stop-motion animation video goes inside the mind of a young girl at the helm of her own make-believe adventure with Moana and Maui, in which they navigate a “blue jean” ocean and fight off a tribe of familiar coconut pirates called the Kakamora.

Kicking off with an adorable retelling of Moana and her spirit of adventure, the series will continue with innovative retelling of some of Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm’s stories.

The series encourages imagination by helping kids create worlds and bring to life their own stories. I’m always excited about new series introduced by Disney, what do you think of this entertaining collaboration?

Is Apple Considering Buying Disney?

Disney

Disney

Apple currently has the largest cash reserve of any private company in history- over $200 billion. This cash pile is the topic of investors, bloggers, and traders everywhere.

The question is: What does Apple plan on doing with that money?

The answer to that question may be to purchase Disney, according to RBC analyst, Steven Cahall.

“Bulls think it portends well for a swan song exit via a sale to a giant like AAPL,” Cahall wrote in a note sent out to clients on Friday.

After all, we are living in a world where “content is king.” Currently, there is a battle raging among content providers for your eyeballs. Content providers, want you hooked and ready to consume more of your favorite content and all of the other licensed products that go along with it.

When analysts and investors think of content, Disney is the first name that comes to mind.

Disney’s “Frozen” is the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

Additionally, five of the 10 highest grossing films of 2016 were Disney movies: “Captain America: Civil War” was the highest grossing film of 2016 with 1.153 billion in revenue, also included were, “Finding Dory“, “Zootopia“, “The Jungle Book”, and “Star Wars: Rogue One.”

RBC is not the only one speculating an Apple takeout of Disney is a possibility.

In her fourth-quarter investor letter for 2016, Samantha Greenberg, founder of hedge fund Margate Capital, raised the same possibility, describing the company as a “logical acquisition target” for Apple:

Apple has talked about the benefit Apple sees when it owns exclusive content, and owning Disney would reduce Apple’s exposure to product cycles, expanding AAPL’s valuation multiple…It would also be an accretive use of Apple’s cash and even more so if Apple’s $200Bn of offshore cash can be repatriated favorably.

Additionally, in November 2016, Liberty Media Chairman John Malone predicted that if Disney were to spin-off ESPN, Apple could buy it.

“Fundamentally, Tim Cook is a global player, and fundamentally, ESPN is a domestic service,” Malone said, that Apple and Disney would be a better fit without ESPN because then they would both be global players without domestic ESPN holding them back.

This a story that won’t be dying down anytime soon.

Disney is up 7.75% so far this year.

Disney VoluntEARS New Disney-Sponsored KaBoom! Playground Officially Open

Disney VoluntEARS New Disney-Sponsored KaBoom! Playground Officially Open

Once again Disney has created magic!  The Disney VoluntEARS joined forces with the Central Florida residential community of Golden Oaks in Winter Park, Florida to create the 75th nationwide KaBOOM! playground.  For those of you that don’t know much about Disney VoluntEARS, this group is comprised of Resort Cast Members and their families.  They contribute their own personal time to make an impact on the community all the while keeping the vision and ideals of the Walt Disney Company.  They work on meaningful projects around the globe and most recently, right here in Central Florida.

The latest KaBOOM! playground in Winter Park has everything a magical playground should including swings, new slides and even rock walls!  Much like how the Disney Imagineers of the Walt Disney World Resort bring their vision to life in the parks, the Disney VoluntEARS brought their vision to life transforming an empty lot into a beautiful playground.  This new place for families to gather gives hundreds of local children a safe place to play.  The idea is to create a fun and save environment to cultivate healthy lifestyles right where Disney Cast Members live, work…and now play!

Through the collaboration with Central Florida, Disney has now funded 11 KaBOOM! Playgrounds in the area.  But it doesn’t stop there.  Disney strives to work with communities around the world.  One of Walt Disney‘s most famous quotes reads, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”  I personally love that this doesn’t just apply to his theme parks, but to anything Disney can collaborate with to make then entire world just a little more magical!  It is definitely something to celebrate!
