Universal Orlando Launches New Social Pages for Annual Passholders—Old Facebook Group to Be Deactivated
Big changes are coming for Universal Orlando Resort Annual Passholders on social media. Universal has officially launched new Instagram and Facebook pages dedicated to UOAPs, replacing the long-running Facebook Group that has served as a central hub for passholder news and community interaction.
In a post shared to the Facebook Group on Monday morning, Universal announced that the group would be deactivated in the near future due to changes in Facebook’s platform policies for Groups. The new official Facebook Page can be found at facebook.com/UOAnnualPassholders, while the Instagram handle is @UOAnnualPassholders.
The first post on both platforms features a welcome video introducing the new pages as the go-to spot for UOAP news, exclusive perks, giveaways, and event updates. While these Pages will offer the latest details and continue the celebration of all things #UOAP, some features will be different. Most notably, passholders will no longer be able to create their own posts on the Page, as was possible in the Group format.
However, Universal encourages passholders to stay interactive by commenting on posts, tagging @UOAnnualPassholders in public social posts, and using the hashtag #AskUniversal on X (formerly Twitter) for questions. Current passholder perks and benefits can still be reviewed anytime on the Passholder homepage of the Universal Orlando Resort website.
What do you think about this new approach for passholder interaction by Universal Orlando? Leave us a comment to let us know!

A heartwarming addition has joined the Kilimanjaro Safaris family at Disney’s Animal Kingdom: a male Masai giraffe calf named Tucker. Born to mother Mara, Tucker’s arrival marks a significant milestone as the first giraffe calf birth at Walt Disney World Resort since 2021.
The birth is a cause for celebration and a testament to Disney’s ongoing commitment to wildlife conservation. Mara, who has resided on the Animal Kingdom savanna since 2015, has now given birth to three calves, including Jabari in 2019. The recent sighting of Mara and Tucker venturing onto the savanna has delighted both park guests and animal care teams.
Tucker’s birth holds particular importance due to the Masai giraffe’s endangered status. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies the species as endangered, with an estimated global population of only 30,000. Habitat loss and poaching pose significant threats to these majestic animals in their natural habitats.
“Tucker’s birth is really important for us,” emphasized Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment. “It’s a testament to Disney’s leadership in animal care and conservation and our incredible partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Species Survival Plan. This plan focuses on maintaining genetic diversity of the giraffe population and helping to prevent giraffes from becoming extinct.”
Disney’s team of dedicated animal care professionals and veterinarians have provided round-the-clock care for Mara and Tucker, ensuring their well-being. This successful birth underscores the exceptional expertise and dedication of the Animal Kingdom team.
Tucker’s presence contributes to the genetic diversity of the Masai giraffe population, safeguarding the species for future generations. His arrival offers a tangible reminder of the importance of conservation efforts and the awe-inspiring experience of witnessing these magnificent animals in their simulated natural habitat.
The Disney Conservation Fund Celebrates 30 Years of Wildlife Protection
Recognizing the urgency to protect rapidly vanishing wildlife and habitats around the world, the Disney Conservation Fund provides support to respected conservation organizations already at the forefront of critical conservation efforts.
This year, the Disney Conservation Fund (DCF) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since its inception in 1995, the Disney Conservation Fund has directed more than $132 million to community conservation programs to support organizations working with communities to protect wildlife, inspire action, and promote environmental resilience.
NYC Fire Museum in Crisis After Neighboring Disney HQ Construction Causes Nearly $6M in Damage
A beloved piece of New York City history is in jeopardy, and the cause, according to city officials, isn’t fairy dust—it’s construction work next door. The New York Post reports that the New York City Fire Museum, housed in a historic 120-year-old firehouse on Spring Street, has been closed to the public for nearly a year after suffering almost $6 million in structural damage tied to the construction of Disney’s new headquarters in Hudson Square.
The damage didn’t come from Disney itself, though. In a legal filing made by the city, blame is placed squarely on Hudson Square Realty, along with construction firms Skanska Inc. and Lendlease US Construction Inc. The city alleges their work caused “excessive vibrations” that led to the evacuation and closure of the museum, which is housed in a former Engine Co. 30 firehouse and has served as a public institution since 1987.

The museum’s executive director, Patti Murphy, recalled the harrowing day in May 2024 when staff preparing to host a children’s birthday party called her in a panic. They reported loud banging, shaking walls, and a softening floor. Within hours, the building was evacuated, and the museum was forced to shut its doors to visitors indefinitely.

Now, nearly a year later, the damage has not only shaken the structure—it’s threatened the museum’s very future. The museum took in just $571,000 in revenue in fiscal year 2023–2024, well below its target of over $772,000. Murphy says the closure has left the small nonprofit in crisis, and a public fundraising campaign is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

“We need immediate support,” said Murphy. “We’re a very small nonprofit, and our operations are pretty much in a dire position because we’ve been closed so long.”
Although the building is now considered “structurally sound,” access remains restricted. Only a limited number of staff are allowed inside, and the public remains barred while plans for remediation are evaluated. Murphy has been working to protect the museum’s 30,000 artifacts—including a 1901 coal-fired steam engine, antique firefighting gear, and a memorial to the 343 FDNY firefighters lost on 9/11—but says the process is both costly and complex.
The museum had hoped the opening of Disney’s new 1.2 million-square-foot headquarters next door in December 2024 would drive increased foot traffic. Instead, it now finds itself in the shadow of a legal battle. While Disney is not named in the city’s lawsuit, a company spokesperson said Disney has been working with the city to address any potential damage and noted that the filing was “part of the legal process to ensure those conversations can continue.”
For now, the Fire Museum’s future hangs in the balance, dependent on community support and the outcome of ongoing litigation. A cultural institution that has preserved New York’s firefighting legacy for nearly four decades may soon face its toughest battle yet—one to survive.
Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy Sign Removed as Disney Villains Prepare to Take Over
Change is speeding down the road at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Following the recent announcement that Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever Afterwill debut on May 27, 2025, the sign for the now-closed Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy has officially been removed from the Sunset Showcase Theater.
On a recent visit to the park, remnants of the attraction could still be seen. The backstage gate and surrounding courtyard walls are still decked out in Lightning McQueen’s signature style, including a mural of the racing legend and his iconic number.
Permits for general construction at the Sunset Showcase were first filed back in October 2024, with a follow-up filed in January 2025, paving the way for the new villainous production. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy officially crossed the finish line on October 7, 2024, bringing an end to its high-octane run.
Now, the spotlight shifts to the Disney Villains, who are set to take center stage in Unfairly Ever After. The new show will feature appearances from a rogues’ gallery of iconic villains including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. Guests will watch as these characters enter our world through the Magic Mirror, offering their own side of the story—and letting the audience decide which villain has been treated the most unfairly.
With the stage being set for the darker side of Disney to shine, we’re counting down the days to May 27. Stay tuned for more updates as the transformation of Sunset Showcase continues!

Disney Donates Red Car Trolley for Steam Education
A rare piece of Disney California Adventure history, one of only two Red Car Trolley vehicles from the now-defunct attraction, has been generously donated by Disney to a new owner in California.
The Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure concluded its final journey down Buena Vista Street on February 8, 2025. This permanent closure was necessitated by the upcoming expansion of Avengers Campus, which will occupy the trolley’s storage barn. Following its last run, vehicle 717, one of only two in operation at the time, was positioned near the park entrance as a stationary photo opportunity for guests.
The second Red Car Trolley, vehicle 623, has been donated to The Garner Holt Foundation, as announced in a recent Facebook post. The foundation is named after Garner Holt, a prominent American entrepreneur renowned for his significant contributions to animatronics, particularly in entertainment. Holt founded Garner Holt Productions, Inc. in 1977, which has become a leading global manufacturer of animatronics and special effects, credited with producing more animatronic figures for theme parks than any other company worldwide.
The Garner Holt Foundation and Disney have a history of collaboration, notably with the Jack Skellington animatronic for Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Holiday in 2001, marking Disney’s first outsourcing of a classic attraction’s animatronic. Their partnerships also include the Maleficent dragon for Fantasmic! in 2009 and numerous animatronics for Radiator Springs Racers in 2012.
The Garner Holt Foundation posted on Social Media about the donation:
“Extra Extra! Read all about it!
Straight from the tracks of Buena Vista Street and into the future of inspiring innovation—the iconic Red Car Trolley has found a new home at the Garner Holt Foundation! Thanks to this generous donation from our friends at the Disneyland Resort, this piece of theme park history can continue to inspire the next generation of dreamers and doers to discover potential careers in STEM and STEAM.
Let’s keep moving forward down the tracks to the future for aspiring designers, engineers, and other visionaries who participate in Garner Holt Foundation events and keep the wheels of imagination turning!”
Epic Universe First Impressions: A Portal-Powered Home Run from Universal Orlando
Yesterday, we had the absolute honor of being hosted by Universal Orlando for a VIP Media Day, and were among the first guests to fully explore the dazzling new theme park set to open its gates to the public on May 22, 2025—Epic Universe. And let’s just say… the name fits.
This park doesn’t just raise the bar—it launches it into the cosmos.
From the moment we stepped under the shimmering Chronos tower into Celestial Park, we knew this wasn’t just another theme park expansion or new land add-on. This is an entirely new way to experience immersive lands, thrilling rides, and storytelling on a grand, cinematic scale. Over the course of the day, we explored all five lands—each connected by shimmering, immersive portals—and we’re still picking our jaws up off the floor.
Each land in Epic Universe is so thoughtfully crafted that it feels like you’re stepping into a living storybook—or a feature film set. From the crackle of electricity as you enter Dark Universe to the soft ticking of the Time-Turner portal that leads to the Wizarding World, every detail is designed to transport you.
The only small knock here—and we do mean small—is that in some spots, you can catch glimpses of other lands in the distance. While it doesn’t ruin the experience, it does slightly chip away at the illusion of being fully sealed in a separate world. That said, the scale and artistry in each area will absolutely bring you back again and again just to uncover new details you didn’t catch the first (or fifth) time.
🌀 Thematics & Storytelling: 10/10
The central concept of Celestial Park powering the portals to each land via the Chronos Tower is nothing short of genius. It ties the entire park together while giving each land the space to shine with its own unique narrative. The transition from one area to the next never feels abrupt—instead, you’re re-anchored in Celestial Park between each visit, reinforcing the idea that you’re traversing distinct worlds powered by one cosmic force.
Each land feels like its own park, complete with rides, shows, food, characters, and atmosphere to match. The theming is so strong that you’ll want to spend full days in each land just soaking in the magic.
📖 Storyline: 10/10
This is where Epic Universe truly lives up to its name. Universal has figured out how to create a park with overarching lore and self-contained stories in each land. Whether you’re unraveling the Ministry’s secrets in Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, escaping Dracula in Dark Universe, or soaring over Berk with Hiccup and Toothless, the narrative depth of each experience feels like you’re stepping into a new chapter of an epic novel.
Returning to Celestial Park between lands reinforces this structure—each land becomes a “book” on your grand, portal-hopping adventure.
🎢 Attractions: 10/10
There is truly something for everyone here—and every ride goes beyond what you expect. Here are a few standouts:
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry – A groundbreaking dark ride mixing animatronics, screen effects, and a powerful story (no 3D glasses needed!).
Stardust Racers – A double-launch coaster through space, complete with a dazzling Celestial Spin.
Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment – A thrilling, monster-packed journey into chaos and creation in the Dark Universe.
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders in Isle of Berk offers soaring excitement and story-driven thrills.
Mine-Cart Madness in Donkey Kong Country delivers fast turns and eye-popping “track jump” effects that are straight out of the video game.
And let’s not forget the shows and character interactions—from a flying Toothless in The Untrainable Dragon, to the spellbinding Le Cirque Arcanus show in the Wizarding World, every performance adds to the park’s rich storytelling.
Universal didn’t just build another theme park—they changed the game.
Epic Universe is a fully immersive, story-driven, technologically advanced playground of imagination, and we couldn’t be more impressed. The creative risks paid off, the theming is spectacular, and the rides are unforgettable.
We’ll be visiting again and again for years to come—not just because of the attractions, but because the worlds here are worth returning to. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a fantasy fan, a casual guest, or a deep-diving lore lover, there’s something in this universe for everyone.
Epic Universe is a home run—and Universal Orlando just knocked it clear out of the park.

Disney+ Unveils Trailer for “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld”
The dark side is calling! Just in time for the galaxy’s favorite holiday, May the 4th, Disney+ has dropped the trailer, key art, and first stills for “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld,” the highly anticipated third installment in Lucasfilm Animation’s acclaimed anthology series. Created by the visionary Dave Filoni, this new collection of animated shorts will plunge viewers into the gritty criminal underbelly of the Star Wars universe, focusing on the compelling narratives of two iconic villains.
Following the success of “Tales of the Jedi” in 2022 and “Tales of the Empire” in 2024, “Tales of the Underworld” promises a darker and more morally ambiguous exploration of the galaxy far, far away. This time around, the spotlight shines on Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane, offering fresh perspectives on these fan-favorite antagonists.
The trailer hints at compelling storylines for both characters. Former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress finds herself with an unexpected second chance at life, forcing her to go on the run with an unlikely new ally. This intriguing premise suggests a potential for growth and transformation for a character often defined by her past.
Meanwhile, the notorious outlaw Cad Bane is set to confront his past when he crosses paths with an old friend who has now become a Marshal on the opposite side of the law. This confrontation promises a tense and potentially heartbreaking exploration of loyalty, choices, and the ever-shifting landscape of the criminal world.
Dave Filoni, the creative force behind beloved animated series like “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels,” returns as creator and supervising director, ensuring a continuation of the high-quality storytelling and visual style fans have come to expect. He also serves as executive producer alongside Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck. Josh Rimes is co-executive producer, Alex Spotswood is the senior producer, and Matt Michnovetz is the writer, rounding out a talented team dedicated to bringing these shadowy tales to life.
The voice cast is equally impressive, featuring a mix of familiar and new talent. Nika Futterman returns to voice Asajj Ventress, while Corey Burton likely reprises his role as Cad Bane. They are joined by Artt Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez, promising a rich and nuanced vocal landscape for the series.
“Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld” is poised to be a must-watch for Star Wars enthusiasts, offering a unique glimpse into the lives and motivations of characters who often operate in the shadows. Its premiere just in time for May the 4th makes it the perfect addition to any Star Wars Day celebration.
Get ready to delve into the darker corners of the galaxy when “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld” premieres exclusively on Disney+, joining the platform’s already expansive collection of Star Wars films and series. May the 4th be with you, and may the shadows reveal their secrets!

Our largely spoiler-free review of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into the Wizarding World and watching justice finally catch up with one of its most notorious villains, then get ready—Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministryis the ride you’ve been waiting for. Located within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe, this new attraction is not only a triumph in storytelling and ride design—it’s a long-overdue reckoning for a character many fans love to hate: Dolores Umbridge. We were afforded the ability to check out the Battle at the Ministry as part of a hosted VIP tour during a Universal Orlando media day yesterday, and let me tell you it was worth the wait!
Before we even get to the ride itself, we need to talk about the queue. And I use that word lightly because this isn’t just a line—it’s a journey.
✨ A Queue So Good, It Deserves Its Own Chocolate Frog Card
Your adventure begins in the magical streets of 1920s Paris, where you enter through the wizarding world’s version of public transportation: the Metro-Floo. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like—part subway, part Floo Network—and it transports you straight into the British Ministry of Magic during the 1990s.
The transition is seamless and jaw-dropping. One moment, you’re surrounded by art deco storefronts; the next, you’re walking into a massive atrium bathed in green tile, gold accents, and magical energy. The Ministry is HUGE, and the attention to detail is incredible—it honestly feels like you’re stepping onto a film set. Everywhere you look there are moving portraits, enchanted objects, and whispers of wizarding business being conducted around you.
And then, you enter Dolores Umbridge’s office.
Yes, that office. The nauseating pinks. The decorative plates. The oppressive sweetness hiding something far more sinister. And there, amidst the chaos of her fall from power, we meet Higgledy—Umbridge’s former house-elf, who’s now stuck cleaning up her mess (literally). It’s a brilliant touch that adds emotional depth and narrative richness, especially for longtime fans.
For context: Dolores Umbridge is the Ministry official who famously tormented Hogwarts students during Harry’s fifth year. She banned magic in classrooms, forced Harry to write lines using his own blood, and sent countless Muggle-borns to Azkaban under the guise of “order.” So yes—seeing her finally face trial for her many, many crimes is deeply satisfying.
🧙♂️ The Ride Experience: Magic, Mayhem, and One Epic Lift
Once you board your ride vehicle—designed to mimic a magical Ministry lift—you’re whisked away on an adventure that’s both whimsical and intense. The motion is a little jarring at times, but that’s part of the fun. After all, you’re flying through the magical bureaucracy of the wizarding world… and no one ever said wizard elevators were OSHA-compliant.
The storyline? Fantastic. Without giving too much away, you’ll find yourself deep in the heart of the Ministry alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione, battling chaos and creatures that lurk behind the pristine Ministry walls. It’s a dark ride, yes—but filled with heart, humor, and just the right amount of danger.
What sets this attraction apart is the blend of animatronics and screen-based storytelling, all done without 3D glasses. This creates a crystal-clear, fully immersive experience that feels more real than reality. And there are moments—several of them—where the lines between screen and set disappear completely.
⚖️ Verdict: A Must-Ride for Muggles and Magic Folk Alike
Whether you’re a casual fan or someone who’s read the books and watched the films more times than you can count, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry delivers something special. It captures the feeling of being in the Wizarding World like never before—and gives fans the long-awaited moment of catharsis in watching Umbridge finally squirm.
The ride is thrilling, the queue is an experience all its own, and the magic? Let’s just say it’s Ministry-approved.
This is one dark ride you’ll want to ride again… and again… and again.
