Exciting New Additions for Tokyo Disney Resort

Excitement and adventure awaits visitors to the Tokyo Disney Resort this summer and into 2018. Disney recently shared some highlights of new summer offerings at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Also, we are getting a sneak peek of activities that will begin in 2018 as part of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 35th Anniversary ‘Happiest Celebration!’

Beginning July 11, guests can enjoy Tokyo DisneySea for “Disney Pirates Summer,” a brand new event inspired by the world of the Pirates of the Caribbean films. The new “Pirates Summer Battle ‘Get Wet!’” show at Mediterranean Harbor brings you in on the action, training to be a pirate under the tutelage of Captain Barbossa and witnessing an epic showdown between Captain Barbossa and everyone’s favorite scallywag, Captain Jack Sparrow. Enjoy a vast array of treasures, including special merchandise and food, plus atmosphere entertainment, decorations and a “Pirates Cantina Fiesta.”

This summer StellaLou, Duffy’s new friend, will be the star of her own “Steps to Shine” show in American Waterfront. Mickey and Duffy have prepared the stage to help StellaLou chase her dream of becoming a Broadway dancer.

Tokyo Disneyland will feature Disney Natsu Matsuri, a colorful Japanese summer festival including new entertainment in “Sansui! Summer Beat” as favorite Disney characters play a Japanese arrangement of popular Disney songs. At night, the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights makes a sparkling return with five new floats, the parade debut of Anna and Elsa atop their icy castle, and the return of a special Beauty and the Beast-inspired float.

Starting in 2018, as part of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 35th Anniversary ‘Happiest Celebration!’, you can look forward to a new daytime parade at Tokyo Disneyland featuring Mickey and his pals, the reopening of “it’s a small world” with the addition of 40 classic Disney characters, and a nighttime transformation of Cinderella Castle as Mickey creates a fantastic spectacle just for you.

New ‘Guardians’ Meet and Greets and Moana’s New Location at Walt Disney World Announced

We just learned on Twitter that two new meet and greets are coming to Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. The new meet and greet opportunities will feature Starlord and Baby Groot of Guardians of the Galaxy fame.

We have also learned that Moana will be finding a new home in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom.

Until recently, Moana could be found in One Man’s Dream at Hollywood Studios. We cannot confirm where we will be able to find Starlord and Baby Groot at Hollywood Studios but would assume they will be taking up Moana’s old residence at One Man’s Dream.

A New Destination is Coming to Star Tours Adventure at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There is so much amazing Star Wars news coming out of Disney, I feel like it’s Christmas in April!

Last week during Star Wars Celebration in Orlando fans got their first glance at the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Fans attending a special panel discussion entitled Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making also learned that a new destination will be coming to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at both Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this year. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will feature some of the iconic actions and locations from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

This new Star Tours adventure was announced by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek last fall. It will transport guests to an epic battle on the planet of Crait and will no doubt be an out of this world experience. Have you seen the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Check it out below.

All New Walt Disney Archives Exhibit “A Pirate’s Life For Me” to Open at D23 Expo 2017

The Walt Disney Archives returns to D23 Expo with an all-new exhibit, “Walt Disney Archives Presents––A Pirate’s Life for Me:

Disney’s Rascals, Scoundrels and Really Bad Eggs.” Disney’s most memorable marauders, from Peter Pan’s Captain Hook to Pirates of the Caribbean’s Captain Jack Sparrow, will be on display July 14–16 at the Anaheim Convention Center during the biennial event, presented by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club.

The 12,000-square- foot exhibit, located on the Expo show floor, will honor Disney’s treasured pirates from film, television, and the beloved Disney parks attraction that has thrilled guests from Anaheim to Shanghai. Hundreds of iconic and never-before- seen items will be on display.

Objects featured in the exhibit include Audio-Animatronics ® figures from the original Disneyland attraction, a ride vehicle from Peter Pan’s Flight, and artwork and imagery from Treasure Island, Peter Pan, as well as an unproduced Donald Duck animated short, featuring the irascible duck searching for swashbuckler gold. The action-packed film franchise is represented with original costumes worn by the star-studded cast, Davy Jones’ pipe organ, a 23-foot- tall set model of the Black Pearl ship, the Dead Men’s chest, and more original props and set pieces, including items from the new film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Also on the show floor, the Archives will present “Fantastical Fashions,” a dazzling selection of dresses worn by beloved heroines and sinister villainesses. Costumes from six of Disney’s live-action fantasy films will be showcased including Enchanted (2007), Maleficent (2014), and Beauty and the Beast (2017).

Tickets for D23 Expo 2017 are available for $81 for one-day adult admission, $59 for children 3–9. Marvel Launches #GrootDancebomb Challenge to Plant a Quarter Million Trees

As tree-like creature Groot dances back into theaters in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2 on May 5, Marvel today announced the global #GrootDancebomb challenge. An intergalactic twist on the social photobomb phenomenon, the #GrootDancebomb challenge blends surprise and dance to spread Groot-will during Earth Month working with the Disney Conservation Fund to support forest restoration through The Nature Conservancy.

Marvel gave YouTube superstar Dominic “D-trix” Sandoval an early look at Groot and his new dancing toy line, and challenged him to create a Groot inspired dance move to surprise and delight unsuspecting fans – the #GrootDancebomb was born. D-trix choreographed the ultimate “Groot move” to pull off the prank, before bringing it to the unsuspecting streets of Los Angeles.

Marvel is now calling for fans to support the #GrootDancebomb Earth Month challenge by busting out a signature Groot move at an expected moment, using a dancing Groot toy to surprise someone, or even just liking or sharing Marvel’s video starring D-trix.

From April 18-May 5, like or share this video on YouTube or Facebook or post your own using #GrootDancebomb on Instagram or Twitter, and help plant up to a quarter of a million trees! Marvel and the Disney Conservation Fund will direct a $1 donation to The Nature Conservancy to plant 1 tree for each action, for a minimum donation of $50,000 and a maximum of $250,000.

“Groot was one of the break-out characters from Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, and has quickly become a fan favorite,” said Josh Silverman, Executive Vice President, Global Licensing, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “As we launch the toy line for the new movie, we’re excited to share the #GrootDancebomb challenge combining a little bit of fun and a little bit of doing good— just like the Guardians themselves.”

Fans watching Marvel’s #GrootDancebomb video will also be treated to D-trix’s signature dance style interspersed with Easter egg Groot toy cameos from Funko, Jakks Pacific, Hasbro and KIDdesigns—all of which can be utilized as perfect props for the unsuspicious dance set-up. These along with other exciting Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2 merchandise are available now at major retailers and Disney Store and DisneyStore.com for fans of all ages to enjoy.

Everyone will want to tune in to FreeForm for its latest special “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings”. Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins from “The Bachelor” will give guests a behind the scenes look at some truly magical weddings. This 90 minute special will air Sunday May 7, from 8:00 to 9:30 pm Eastern.

Getting married is one of the most special days of your life and one you will never forget. Taylor and Tyler spend their magical day at Epcot in Florida. Melanie and Greg from Peoria, Illinois

Melanie thinks her boyfriend Greg is taking her on a fun vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to get away from the stresses of their life. The couple heads out on a sunrise safari ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, but unbeknownst to her, Melanie is in for the surprise of her life as Greg has prepared an unforgettable wedding proposal.

Is Disney Secretly Working on a Star Wars themed Resort?

Hey y’all! It’s Anonymouse here back with some extra juicy Disney World Gossip!

We are hearing from our friends over at WDW News Today that Disney is starting to look into the possibility of building a new resort at Walt Disney World. And what is the theme of this new resort you might ask? How about a Star Wars-themed resort on an “actual” Star Wars Starship!

Yes, you read that right….a Star Wars-themed resort may be an option for lodging at Disney World! You and your family can sleep on a Starship!

Apparently, Disney has contacted Swagbucks to gauge interest in this new resort. The survey includes renderings of what a stay on the Starship would be like.

The resort would offer an all-inclusive resort experience with the following magical touches:

Full immersion into a 2-day/night story set somewhere in the Star Wars universe. Guests will be treated to a non-stop, story-driven interactive entertainment experience as it plays out over the course of your stay.
Star Wars characters will appear throughout the Starship giving guests the ability to have personal interactions with them. Guests will have the choice to experience the story first-hand or just observe the action.
The experience will offer such programs as flight training, ship exploration, lightsaber training, and secret missions tailored to each guest.
The 2-day experience will not just be confined to the Starship. Guests will be able to interact throughout the Star Wars-themed planet at as well.

Guests will be treated to the full-experience in luxury accommodations. The all-inclusive options offered will be:

All meals for your stay will be included. This includes buffet breakfasts, lunch, and signature dining for dinner

Disney Is Showing Off This Summer With New Attractions and Shows

This summer Disney World is pulling out all the stops to bring first class entertainment, attractions and shows to all of it’s guests. Animal Kingdom will be showing off it’s brand new land along side it’s breath-taking new nighttime show. Magic Kingdom is answering back with it’s own state-of-the-art nighttime fireworks spectacular. Hollywood Studios is still dropping jaws with its legendary entertainment and Disney Springs is setting the bar with new dining, featuring celebrated chefs from around the world.

Animal Kingdom

On May 27 Animal Kingdom guests are transported to the moon of Pandora. A world featuring floating mountains, alien wildlife, and rain forest home to bioluminescent plants. Created in partnership with director James Cameron and Lightstorm entertainment, this 12 acre land will hold multiple attractions, entertainment, audio-animatronics, 3-D holograms as well as retail, food and beverage options.

Visitors to Pandora will experience two new attractions. Avatar Flight of Passage allows guests to fly with a real mountain Banshee and soar over the floating mountains. Na’vi River Journey takes passengers on a boat ride along the Kasvapan River through a bioluminescent landscape.

Satu’li Canteen, the main dining location, offers guests the opportunity to personalize their meal options. Pongu Pongu, which translated means “Party Party” will surely serve drinks worthy of its namesake. Visitors wanting to bring home keepsakes can visit Windtraders for science kits, toys, and Na’vi cultural items.

Once the sun goes down visitors to Animal Kingdom can experience Rivers of Light, the new nighttime show. Using an original score, this visually striking show shows the connections between humans and the animals around us. This celebration of nature uses its elements, water and fire, to tell its choreographed story.

Magic Kingdom Park

May will also be an exciting time in the Magic Kingdom. Guests are treated to a brand new nighttime fireworks display, “Happily Ever After“. This show will use the latest technology in projection mapping to bring its newest story to life. For 18 minute Disney will take guests through a story filled with love and laughter featuring beloved moments from iconic Disney films like “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladin”, “Moana”, and “Zootopia”. Fireworks, pyrotechnics, and an original score will only enhance this production that uses Cinderella castle as it’s canvas.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

“The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters” is introduced three times nightly inside the Theater of the Stars. This new 40 minute nighttime presentation will showcase unforgettable scores from Pixar films presented by a full orchestra. Beloved Pixar characters like Woody, Jessie, Mike, and Sulley, and the Incredibles will be on hand to entertain the audience while guests enjoy songs from our favorite Pixar movies like “Cars” and “Toy Story”

Star Wars is still a major player in Hollywood Studios offering amazing experiences throughout the day. BB-8 from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is now appearing at Star Wars Launch Bay to greet guests. Authentic movie props from the latest in the Star Wars epic “Rogue One” will also be on display at Star Wars Launch Bay and the new daytime stage show “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far, Away” will feature the new AWR Troopers from that movie as well.

Disney’s Water Parks

After a hot day in the parks, guests can now cool down on the new family-friendly water attraction “Miss Adventure Falls“. Families will be following the story of Captain Mary Oceaneer, a treasure hunter who ended up on Typhoon Lagoon after a huge storm marooned her. Guests are transported in their “treasure rafts” to experience this two-minute adventure, the longest attraction at Typhoon Lagoon.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, the “Frozen” Summer Games return from May 26 – Aug. 13. Kristoff and Olaf will be available for a special character greeting and photo opportunity, making Blizzard Beach the only place where guests can meet Kristoff at Walt Disney World Resort. During the friendly competition, guests will be able to take part in ice-pail relays, a snowball toss and much more snowy fun.

Disney Springs
The culinary scene at Disney Springs continues to evolve with more exciting food and beverage locales, including The Polite Pig and Paddlefish, both opened recently.

Featuring modern barbecue cuisine prepared in an open kitchen, The Polite Pig serves up Southern sides like mac-and-cheese and smoked corn and a hearty selection of craft beers and cocktails. There’s also a bourbon bar offering more than 50 selections. The Polite Pig is the newest concept from award-winning Orlando Chefs James and Julie Petrakis who own local favorite restaurants The Ravenous Pig and Swine & Sons.

Guests can also step aboard Paddlefish, Disney Springs’ iconic 1800’s paddleboat that’s been reimagined into a modern yacht experience. Paddlefish offers guests a delectable menu of fresh seafood, steaks and chops for lunch and dinner, as well as a delectable Sunday brunch. A new rooftop lounge serves up a late-night menu as well as fantastic views of the water and Disney Springs.

Disney Resort Hotels
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort opens as the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort on July 17. Inspired by the legendary mining and railroad history of the Pacific Northwest, guests will come “home” to rustic elegance with these new studios, villas and waterfront cabins.

At Disney’s BoardWalk, there’s an enchanting new dining experience at Trattoria al Forno, the Bon Voyage Breakfast, featuring beloved Disney characters including Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel and Prince Eric. James Gunn confirms there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!

James Gunn announced via Facebook yesterday that he will be returning to write and direct the third installment in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie franchise.

Gunn released a statement that said:

So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine, and I feel they have more adventures to go on and things to learn about themselves and the wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we all inhabit. And, like in both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect.”

Gunn also ventured to say that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” would help set up the next decade of storytelling in the universe of Marvel and that he endeavored to make sure the future of Marvel would be as “special and authentic and magical” as its past.

I can’t wait for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and even more excited knowing there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as well!

‘Pandora – The World of Avatar’ Comes Alive With Plants & Animals

There are so many exciting details being released about the design and plans for the much anticipated opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Today we are hearing how Walt Disney Imagineering and Lightstorm Entertainment aimed to create an entirely new world for guests to explore including designing an ecosystem of plants and animals.

This week Walt Disney Imagineering shared this video, in which members of the project team reveal the first detailed look at the land’s interactive plants, tell us how you’ll be able to hear and sense different animals throughout the land, and interact with bioluminescence at night.

Pandora – The World of Avatar is set to open on May 27, 2017.
