Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” Trailer Is Here

Though the series won’t be premiering for another year, Freeform has debuted the first trailer for their series Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” from their Upfronts presentation.

Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger” is a series based on the favorite comic characters. Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) come from very different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. The series is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball) is set to direct the first episode.

The series also stars Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods), Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot), Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar), Carl Lundstedt (Grey’s Anatomy, Conviction) James Saito (Life of Pi, The Devil’s Advocate), and J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead).

The 10 one-hour series is slated to debut early 2018.

The conversion of Tower of Terror over at Disney California Adventure to a new Guardian’s of the Galaxy-themed attraction called Mission BREAKOUT! has divided Disney fans. Though some argued that the ride was perfect the way it was, others are happy to see this Marvel franchise become more of a presence at the theme parks. Regardless of what side of the camp you’re in, you have to admit, with the new images we are about to share with you, that the Tower is looking mighty impressive these days.

As you can see the Tower of Terror has now been transformed into the home of Taneleer Tivian’s extensive collection of intergalactic rarities including his newest acquisitions, the Guardians of the Galaxy. A close look at the exterior reveals out-of-this-world details with shimmering pipes climbing the exterior, rising and falling gantry lifts and signs that the building may have taken a laser hit or two.

Opening on May 27, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! sees you boarding a gantry lift to ascend The Collector’s towering citadel where you join Rocket on a mission to free the Guardians of the Galaxy from the Collectors nefarious clutches. The mission will take you from the depths of tower to nearly 200 feet in the air all while listening to the amazing tracks including on one of Star-lord’s mix tapes.

Visitors to Disney California Adventure Park this Summer should be prepared to be blown away by the amazing special effects, popular characters, sensational music and that feeling that comes with a giant free fall! All these elements combine to make this an adventure you won’t soon forget.

‘Captain Marvel’ Finds Its Directors With Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck

Marvel has selected Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to direct the upcoming Marvel/Disney film “Captain Marvel”.

Since announcing that Brie Larson, the Oscar winner, would be playing the titular superhero, the studio has taken its time in finding the film’s director, initially courting several women to take the helm.

The studio met with multiple contenders for the directing job, and sources say that Marvel not only wanted to make sure that the search was thorough, but that the script was in the right shape before signing a director.

Florida Lawmaker Advocating for a Statue of Walt Disney to Be Erected at U.S. Capitol

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that a Florida lawmaker has recently put a halt to plans to replace the statue of a Confederate General in the U.S. Capitol with a new piece honoring Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, an environmentalist who played a key role in the preservation of the Florida Everglades. Instead, Rep. Scott Plakon, R-Longwood is making the case that a statue of Walt Disney should serve as the replacement.

Every state gets to place two statues in the U.S. Capitol building honoring important historical figures in that State’s history. Currently Florida’s statues are John Gorrie who pioneered the technology the brought refrigerators into American households and Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith. The issue of whether to replace Gen. Kirby with Walt Disney will need to be put to the 161 legislators in Florida as well as the governor.

The bill to approve the statue is currently on hold for the remainder of this year with a decision unlikely until some point in 2018.

This development will be the second of the Disney Vacation Club properties that call Disney’s Wilderness Lodge home. With its sleek design, The Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, expands upon the backstory of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and its rustic elegance. The Disney Wilderness Lodge opened in 1994 and later welcomed its first Disney Vacation Club Member home to the Boulder Ridge Villas in 2000.

All three of these unique resorts will tell three equally distinct stories about the Transcontinental Railroad, from it’s beginning in the late 1800’s(Boulder Ridge), the evolution of the early 1900’s (Wilderness Lodge), and its re-imagining through the years (Copper Creek). Visiting these three resort properties will give guests a sense of traveling through time and showcases the natural wonders that brought those first travelers West. This new resort is going to be a welcome edition to the Magic Kingdom area with its spacious villas and luxurious waterfront cabins with wraparound screened-in porches!

Johnny Depp Surprises Guests on Pirates of the Caribbean Ride at Disneyland

The passengers on The Pirates of the Caribbean Ride at Disneyland tonight got more than they bargained for when the real Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) stepped out from the shadows of the attraction. The ride was reported temporarily closed for a period of time, once it reopened Jack was there to welcome fellow pirates and persuade them to let him board their vessels!

A notice of filming was posted outside the attraction’s entrance. This might be a good clue that this is part of a promotion for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

I always have the most magical feeling wash over me as I walk through the entrance of the Magic Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom Plaque when you walk through the entryway, is truly a part of that feeling. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a replica of the Magic Kingdom Entrance Plaque in our own homes, like this one from MovieProps2000 on Etsy?

When you walk through the train tunnel to enter Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom you pass under this greeting: “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.” This stunning resin prop casting measures approx 9″ in diameter by 1/2″ thick. L.A. Chargers to Host Draft Party at Disneyland

The Los Angeles Chargers will be celebrating this year’s draft picks with a little help from Disneyland where they will be hosting a draft party on Thursday April 27th, 2017.

According to ESPN, the chargers announced that tickets for the event sold out within two hours with the party only open to season ticket members. The event will be held at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney. There are also some great perks as part of this event including twilight pack passes for those wanting to pay a visit to the theme parks on the same day. Parking and admission to the event is free of charge for those that managed to RSVP. The party will run from 9am to 1pm PST.

Season ticket holders who weren’t able to score a reservation for this coveted event will still be offered complimentary twilight passes to Disneyland for opening night of the draft which should result in wonderful show of support for the Chargers across Disneyland’s theme parks.

Expected to attend this event are receivers Anthony Mill and Kassim Osgood.

Everyone is Still Anxiously Awaiting Disney’s Free Dining Offer

Disney’s Free Dining is about to POP darlings! The big Question is WHEN? Rumors have been swirling for months about when Disney will release their Free Dining Offer. And unfortunately we are still waiting.

This time of year I wish I had a crystal ball, I would no doubt be everyone’s new BFF. I don’t have a crystal ball, but I do keep my ears open just in case I might hear something extra magical. Up until today many have been speculating that April 24th is the big day, and it may be.

Keep in mind folks this is in no way an official announcement of any kind, and totally a rumor right now. But, I would most definitely keep April 24th on your Free Dining radar.

Chip created a Free Dining email list that will notify you when and if any special Disney Offers are released.

New Amazing Nighttime Photos of Pandora Released

Today Bloomberg has released some amazing new nighttime photos of Pandora – The World of Avatar. We can now see what this land will look like when the sun goes down. And it is stunning!

Pandora has been designed by Disney Imagineers to give guests two unique visual experiences, depending on when they visit this new land. Animal Kingdom is no longer only a daytime park. Pandora comes alive once the sun sets inside its glowing bioluminescent jungle.

Many doubted that settings from the movie “Avatar“, which were entirely generated by computer , could be brought to life in a fully dimensional land for guests to experience. Even Joe Rohde, a veteran executive in Disney’s Imagineering division, didn’t think it could be done.

But in true Disney fashion, they found a way to make the impossible, possible.

Pandora – The World of Avatar will begin amazing it’s guests, both in the daytime and at night, starting May 27.
