Fan Event “Spooky Day In The Parks” Is Coming To Walt Disney World

Grim grinning ghosts are coming out to socialize this September at Walt Disney World. Spooky Empire, the promoter of one of the the biggest and most popular horror conventions in the nation, will be bringing us a Disney-themed event called “Spooky Day in the Parks”.

From their website…

Spooky Day in the Parks is a two day meet up event for fans that have a “villainous” side. A mixture of Theme Park gatherings, Special VIP events, a “Bizarre” full of merchandise to fulfill your dark side, and much more! Our goal is to see you all dressed in your best wicked attire. Be it dark or fun, we are dying to see your personal style as we step out for this wicked weekend.

“Spooky Days in the Parks” invites participants to dress as their favorite Disney villain and join in on special planned events at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, inside the Magic Kingdom, and even at the Hollywood Studios Tower of Terror. Additional details to be announced soon via notifications from Spooky Empire. Here is the e-mail list where you can sign up to be in the loop.

Anyone interested in this event should know that this is an unofficial Disney fan meet-up. This is an event created by fans, for fans and not organized by Walt Disney World.

Unofficial Disney fan events can be some of the best days to visit Disney World. They bring an extra feeling of magic to the parks. Just beware of hitchhiking ghosts!

Specials Announced at the Magic Kingdom for Dapper Day Guests

Dapper Day is back again this year and the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World has announced some special offerings for all guests in attendance. This year Dapper Day (or should I say “Days”?) will take place from April 28th to April 30th. Organizers of Dapper Day encourage all participants to “Dress up a little or a lot! We welcome all sophisticated fashions from vintage classics to chic, contemporary looks.”

Here are a few offerings for the official Dapper Day weekend:

Picnic in the Park

Guests are invited to take part in a picnic hosted in the The East Garden Plaza. The picnic will take place on April 29th from 11 am to 2:30 pm.

Offerings for the picnic will include a choice of: fried chicken, chicken Cesar salad, BBQ pulled pork sandwich, or a Greek salad wrap. All lunches will also include chips, a fruit cup, choice of fountain beverage, and a Dapper Rose cupcakes. Children will have the option to chose chicken strip or an Uncrustables peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Lunches for the kiddos will include chips, Go-Go Squeez, a mini Dapper Rose cupcake and a kid’s size fountain beverage.

These boxed lunches will be available for purchase at Tomorrowland Terrace and will cost $14.99 for adults and $9.99 for children

Specialty Cupcakes

What’s a party without some cupcakes? The Magic Kingdom will offer two different Dapper-Day themed cupcakes to celebrate! The first cupcake offered is called the “Hats Off to Spring Cupcake.” This is a vanilla cupcake with either your choice of vanilla buttercream or mocha buttercream frosting. A white chocolate coated sandwich cookie filled with vanilla cream tops it off.

Also being offered is four mini cupcakes called the “Dapper Quartet.” In this quartet, you will receive two vanilla and two chocolate cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream and a “bow-tie” that matches the Dapper Dans on Main Street, USA! How adorable…. and delicious!

Guys and gals! Listen up to this one: To go along with your date’s Dapper Day look, rose wands and corsages will be available for purchase on Main Street, USA near Uptown Jewelers.

Special Dapper Day Merchandise

Of course, the most important part of Dapper Day is the clothes! If you do not have your perfect outfit together yet, The Emporium on Main Street, USA has you covered! Dresses from The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane at Disney Springs will be offered right in The Emporium. These adorable vintage-style dresses feature your favorite Disney character and attractions.

Driving in Style with a Minnie Mouse Steering Wheel Cover

Trying to find Minnie Mouse car accessories is so much easier today than it used to be. However I don’t find many steering wheel covers that are more than red and while polka-dots. This BONFORM Minnie Mouse Steering Wheel Cover has all the Minnie details we love!

What I think I love the most about this cover, is that it has Minnie’s signature bow! I just can’t have something Minnie, if there isn’t a bow tucked in somewhere. The side grips show off her signature red and white polka-dot pattern we all know and love. I like how the black off sets it to give it contrast with the bow, and that it’s completed with Minnie’s signature at the bottom. The little white gloves are a nice bonus detail! This would be the perfect steering wheel cover for a Minnie Mouse themed car.

A First Listen of the Amazing Score Featured In Magic Kingdom’s “Happily Ever After” Fireworks Spectacular

We are less than a month away from the debut of Walt Disney World’s newest nighttime spectacular. Magic Kingdom’s ‘Happily Ever After” promises to be a state-of-the-art fireworks display like no other. This amazing nightly event, opening on May 12th, will feature pyrotechnics, special effects, castle projections and an amazing story that spins a magical narrative about the power of following your dreams. The show also features a delightful mix of Disney movies including scenes from “Moana,” “Brave,” “Big Hero 6”, “Zootopia, ” “Aladdin” and “The Princess and the Frog.”

However, none of these wonderful elements would spring to life if it wasn’t for the amazing score. We are delighted to provide you with a first listen of the evocative music that will tie this fantastic new production together:

This specially written score is designed to take guests on an emotional journey. To this end, specific pieces of the piece were written to inspire a myriad of different feelings from excitement and love to triumph and trepidation. Interwoven with this magical soundtrack are much-loved tunes from the Disney films that area featured.

2017 runDisney Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side returns to Walt Disney World Resort this weekend, April 20-23. Here is a look at all the awesome the “Dark Side” merchandise available now.

Look for fan favorites like car magnets and pins that look like miniature medals from the races. New this year is an overall event weekend shirt that has a silver chrome treatment used on the lettering and graphics.

This year includes some of the most iconic Star Wars characters including Darth Vader, stormtroopers, or Kylo Ren. Select items are available for guests participating in the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side, Star Wars 10K, Star Wars 5K, and the runDisney Kids Races. Guests will also find event merchandise for those participating in the Star Wars Dark Side Challenge (combining the Star Wars 10K and Half Marathon), or the Kessel Run Challenge for runners who ran both the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Light Side and the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side.

Guests will find a quotes from Han Solo on select Kessel Run Challenge items, running pants with a Luke Skywalker-inspired tagline, ‘The Force runs in my family.’ These products are a fun way for guests to share their passion for Star Wars beyond race weekend.”

Finally, saving the best for last, three new Dooney & Bourke handbags created especially for this event. The combination of the red and black Star Wars character graphics is stunning to see in person. Two of the handbags will include a commemorative logo hangtag.

Look for these and other commemorative products during the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Expo will be open during the following times:

New Limited Edition Wishes Merchandise being offered at the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom

Disney is offering New Limited Edition ‘Wishes’ Merchandise at the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom before it’s departure on May 11th, 2017. They are selling shirts, cd’s, tervis mugs, ornaments and more.

The photo above is the Navy Blue Annual Passholder t-shirt that is for sale behind the counter. You will have to show your Passholder Card and ID to pick one up.

Also they have special annual passholder ornaments behind the register as well.

If you are not an annual passholder don’t worry they have the black t-shirt and tervis cups for sale when you walk into the Emporium from Main Street USA. There is a little display with all their items available.

No park trip planned before May 11th?

“Born in China“, the new Disneynature film, will be released to theaters April 21 to coincide with Earth Day. This visually stunning film takes viewers on an epic journey into the wilderness of China, following three different animal families. You’ll find a special Disney PhotoPass Photographer when you enter Asia. Just ask them to set up the special “Born In China” Magic Shot.

Earth Day Digital Sticker

D23 Sip & Stroll Event returns on October 3rd to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort!

On Tuesday October 3rd, 2017 D23 Members can commemorate the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival with the return of the D23 foodie favorite event: Sip and Stroll! This year’s experience includes D23-exclusive culinary and beverage demonstrations, sizzling entertainment, time to sip and stroll with fellow members, and a dessert reception along the banks of the World Showcase. Exclusive to this year, the day’s activities will pay homage to 35 years of Epcot!

Cost is $125 per person, plus a $5 per person processing fee.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 4, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. EST).

Available to Gold and Gold Family Members. You will be required to show a photo ID. Members will be required to show their D23 Membership Cards.

Check-in will be from 10:30 – 11 a.m. near the entrance of the World Showcase. After enjoying free time, attendees will meet at the Festival Center at 2 p.m. with culinary demonstrations and tastings from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Guests will have VIP viewing to Eat to the Beat performance at 5 p.m., followed later in the evening with a VIP Dessert Reception while watching IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

All guests will receive a $25 Disney Gift Card to enjoy food and beverages of their choice during free time.

Our fan-favorite D23 event returns October 3 to celebrate the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort! Exclusive to this year, D23’s Sip & Stroll will honor the 35th anniversary of this beloved theme park with iconic food and drinks from yesteryear.

The event will kick off with each guest receiving a $25 Disney Gift Card to taste some of the delicious offerings at the Food & Wine Festival throughout both the World Showcase and Future World.

Attendees will then gather at the Festival Center for two hours of D23-exclusive culinary and beverage demonstrations! These one-of-a-kind experiences will showcase fan-favorite foods, as well as both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage items from Epcot over the past 35 years.

We’ll then head over to the America Gardens Theatre for reserved seating at the 5 p.m. Eat to the Beat concert!

The event culminates in a delightful dessert reception at the Isle de France. D23 Members will mix and mingle in the moonlight while enjoying a variety of specialty desserts—the perfect setting to enjoy VIP viewing of Epcot’s stunning nighttime spectacular, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth!

Continuing the tradition, this D23 event wouldn’t be complete without an exclusive gift—created just for you!

NOTE

D23 Gold and Gold Family Members may reserve a ticket for themselves and one (1) guest.
Due to the nature of this experience, all attendees must be at least 21 years of age or older to partake in this D23 event. ID will be required upon check-in.
This event does not include admission to Epcot. Guests will need to have or purchase admission to Epcot to attend. If planning to use a Walt Disney World Annual Pass to attend, each guest should check blockout dates to verify that the pass is valid for admission on Tuesday, October 3.
There is a very limited number of tickets available. D23 Members will be required to provide their membership number when reserving tickets. Tickets may be picked up only with a valid photo ID AND D23 MEMBERSHIP CARD. D23 Members who do not bring their membership card may not be admitted to the event. Ticketed Members who do not attend the event forfeit their place, as well as all experiences, benefits, and gifts associated with the event.

Classic Space Mountain Is Returning to Disneyland Park This Summer

Just a few short days after the 40th anniversary of Space Mountain, Disneyland will mark the occasion by bringing back the classic version of this beloved ride. On June 1st space travelers will once again be launched on an intergalactic journey through the cosmos.

Walt Disney himself developed the concept of Space Mountain in the 1960s. A variation of which, first opened in Walt Disney World inside its Magic Kingdom Park in 1975. It became such a popular ride that construction started soon after in Disneyland. Space Mountain has become so popular in fact that Disney has given guests special themed versions of this ride such as Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Hyperspace Mountain.

So mark your galactic calendars for June 1st for the return of Space Mountain to Disneyland!
