Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange,” the story of Dr. Stephen Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts, has fascinated both audiences and critics, pulling in more than $658.3 million at the worldwide box office to date and earning a 90% critics consensus on Rotten Tomatoes. The biggest single-character introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it also carries on Marvel Studios’ winning streak as the 14th consecutive MCU film to debut at #1 at the domestic box office.

On Feb. 14, “Doctor Strange” fans can bring home the critically acclaimed blockbuster early on Digital HD/3D and Disney Movies Anywhere, or on Blu-ray 3D™, Blu-ray, Digital SD, DVD and On-Demand on Feb. 28. These Adorable Sized Disney Inspired Candles are Too Cute!

I love Disney candles, and I also love collecting cute mini things like Tsum Tsums! Imagine my surprise when I discovered these Adorable Sized Disney Inspired Candles by DioCandleCompany.

When they call these “adorable size” they are not joking, they are too cute for words! Although tiny, they are still mighty and have a fragrance that instantly fills the room when you crack open one of their tiny charming lids! These hold one ounce of delicious Disney inspired wax, and burn for about 11-15 hours. They even come in themed sets like the Beauty and the Beast set! The sets include small inserts describing the inspiration and fragrance notes of each candle in the collection. There are so many to choose from, but being so delightfully teeny, it’s easy to get a bunch when I have trouble making up my mind.

Sea World’s killer whale Tilikum has died

According to a post shared on SeaWorld’s Facebook page Tikikum the killer whale has died.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of Tilikum, one of SeaWorld Orlando’s most well-known orcas.

Tilikum has been a beloved member of the SeaWorld Family for 25 years and has touched the lives of millions. He will be missed greatly by the SeaWorld family, as well as the many people he inspired.

Tilikum is estimated to be 36 years old and died early Friday at SeaWorld Orlando from an apparent bacterial lung infection.

Tilikum was featured in the controversial documentary “Blackfish,” which swayed popular opinion against keeping killer whales in captivity at SeaWorld.

‘Sharing the Magic’ Bench removed for Refurbishment

It’s not only the rides and resorts at Disney Parks that need to be freshened up every once in a while. Even the beautiful statues at the parks often need to be removed to receive a little TLC.

We hear from our friends at WDW Info that the iconic “Sharing The Magic” statue of Minnie sitting on a bench with Roy Disney will be removed for refurbishment for a few months. But no worries, it will be back in place by March!

Magic Kingdom To Begin Testing Single Day Quick Service Dining Plans Starting January 12th.

For guests who will be doing most of their dining at the parks, but that aren’t staying on-site or don’t want to commit to purchasing one of Disney’s bulkier dining plans, Walt Disney World will begin to offer single day Quick Service dining packages available for purchase when guests arrive at the parks.

The new “Disney-Dine-on-the-Go” plans will allow guests at the Magic Kingdom to pre-pay for a daily meal plan that includes:

One lunch quick-service meal that includes 1 entrée and 1 non-alcoholic single-serving beverage that must be used before 4pm
One dinner quick-service meal that includes 1 entrée and 1 non-alcoholic single-serving beverage to be used from 4pm until closing time.

Though no pricing is available as of yet, we do know that there will be both adult and child options and that those purchasing the plans from Guest Relations will be offered certificates for each meal which can be redeemed at the following locations:

Casey’s Corner
Columbia Harbour House
Pinocchio Village Haus
Pecos Bill’s Tale Tale Inn and Cafe
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant

The new on-the-go plan will only be available for a limited trial run from January 12th – February 22, 2017. There is no news yet as to whether the plan will be trialed at other theme parks or whether it will become a permanent fixture at Walt Disney World. Readers are encouraged to watch this space for further developments.

Magic Bands 2.0 are Officially on their Way to Walt Disney World Resort Guests

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort are now officially being shipped the new Magic Bands 2.0!

With Annual Passholders officially getting them last month, we knew it was getting close, but we’re very excited to see that all guests are now receiving them.

The inner puck is removable with a special screwdriver that is shipped with the Magic Bands, and the puck can be removed and inserted into other new Magic Bands, as well as accessories such as lanyards , keychains and more. We hear the accesories should also be available very soon for guests to purchase.

Leadership changes taking place at SeaWorld Parks in Tampa and Orlando

There will be a leadership change at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Tampa and Orlando, which was announced today. Jim Dean, President of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island, has been named park president of the company’s Orlando parks, SeaWorld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove.

Stewart Clark, Vice President of Discovery Cove, has been named park president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island. The changes will be effective January 16, 2017.

“Jim is an outstanding theme park leader who has led excellence, performance and growth in Tampa. I am pleased to now have him at the helm of our flagship operations in Orlando,” said Joel Manby, President and Chief Executive Officer of SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. “The Busch Gardens Tampa Bay parks will gain a proven and innovative leader, as Stewart’s operations and zoological expertise has contributed to more than a decade of acclaimed guest experience at Discovery Cove.”

Jim Dean started his career as a financial analyst in the corporate headquarters of Anheuser-Busch (A-B) in St. Louis, Mo. He transferred to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as finance manager in 1990 and Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa. in 1993 as finance vice president. Dean accepted the head of finance position with A-B’s European trade office in London in 2000 before returning to the U.S. five years later as vice president of accounting for the U.S. brewing division of A-B. He moved back to the company’s theme parks in 2008 as head of corporate finance before accepting the role of park president for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island in 2010. Dean holds an engineering degree from Memphis State University and an MBA from St. Louis University.

Stewart Clark started his career with SeaWorld in 1983 and brings more than 30 years of zoological and theme park leadership experience. During his career, Clark served in five parks including Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Most recently, Clark served as the Vice President of Discovery Cove and was instrumental in developing Discovery Cove’s interactive programs, animal exhibits, and culture of customer service excellence. Clark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in applied behavior and organizational management from National-Louis University and currently serves as the Chair of the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums.

Donnie Mills, current park president of the Orlando parks has announced his retirement after 42 years of dedicated service with the company.

“Donnie has made a lasting contribution to our parks and our people by serving as park president in three of our six markets, leading the operations team and instilling a culture committed to the highest levels of operational execution across this great company,” Manby said.

Donnie began his career at Busch Gardens Tampa in 1974 in the Park Operations department, and served as both the Vice President of Park Operations at Busch Gardens and General Manager of Adventure Island during his initial time in Tampa. He subsequently served as Vice President of Operations at SeaWorld San Diego and then at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Donnie was promoted to Park President of Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2003 and then Busch Gardens Tampa in 2007. In February 2010, Donnie was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the Busch Gardens and Sesame branded parks. In 2015, Donnie took on the role of Orlando Parks President.

It’s no secret that I absolutely ADORE the handmade Mickey polishes by KSeaGalesNails on Etsy! I had totally forgotten Valentine’s Day was around the corner until I saw her newest collection! Three beautiful Valentines Mickey Polishes are now available for pre-order!

Valentine’s Mouse, Love Mice and Sweethearts are Mickey inspired polishes filled with lots of love, and of course hearts! Each polish has it’s own flair and color scheme, and look great over other polishes, or by themselves! In addition to those, two new pastel polishes perfect for Spring are also available for pre-order too!

My favorite of the 3 Valentines polishes is “Valentine’s Mouse“. It has a clear polish base with red, light pink, and pink hearts, bows, circles, hexes, and Mouse head shaped glitters! The picture above shows it layered over her new glitter polish “Love” a holographic pink nail polish. The second heart day polish available is “Love Mice“. This is also a clear polish base and has red, white, and black hearts, bows, circles, hexes, and Mouse head shaped glitters! Disney Vacation Club is throwing exciting after-hours celebrations in 2017 called Moonlight Magic at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Park. These parties are complimentary for DVC Members and their special guests.

Dates for select events have been announced but the time and booking details for some have yet to be revealed. Registration for these events are very limited and will go quickly once they become available to book.
