Wishes Being Replaced by ‘Happily Ever After’ Nighttime Spectacular

Wishes will be closing later this spring to make way for the all new “Happily Ever After” nighttime spectacular. This new evening offering will combine the magic of Disney storytelling beloved Disney characters and fireworks and will make its debut at Magic Kingdom theme park on May 12, 2017.

The spectacular will inspire guests to seek out and find their own “Happily Ever After” by showcasing some of the greatest adventures Disney characters have taken to achieve their dreams. The show will feature the latest fireworks and pyrotechnics, original animation, and a heart-tugging original score. And thanks to the inclusion of state-of-the-art projection mapping technology, more Disney characters than ever before will be featured in the show, including moments from “Moana,” “Brave,” “Big Hero 6,” “Zootopia,” “The Princess & The Frog,” “Aladdin” and many others.

The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace will continue to offer up a scrumptious way to view the nighttime fun as “Happily Ever After” makes its debut.

In case you missed the news Rivers of Light is opening on February 17th and to go along with the news Disney is also offering us all new Rivers of Light Dining Packages!

Under the package guests can indulge in a mouthwatering meal and score premium seats to the riveting Rivers of Light show!

Pick your pleasure! Enjoy a delicious feast at one of two participating restaurants in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park and experience the beauty of this dazzling light and water show celebrating the magic of nature.

Included in Each Rivers of Light Dining Package:

An entree plus a non-alcoholic beverage
Premium seating for a Rivers of Light performance

Tusker House Restaurant – Graze on a bountiful buffet brimming with African flavors at Tusker House Restaurant located in Harambe Market. The dining package is available to book for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Costs are $39.00 per adult and $23.00 per child for breakfast and $52.00 per adult and $32 per child for lunch and dinner. The Rivers of Light Dining Package at Tusker House will take up one table service credit for those on the Disney Dining Plan. Guests should also be advised that they must arrive to dine no later than 2 hours and 3o minutes before the Rivers of Light performance to qualify for the package.

Tiffins – Savor your choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert from at Animal Kingdom’s only Signature/Fine Dining location. Tiffins is offering the Rivers of Light Dining Package for both lunch and dinner with prices at $67 per adult and $26 per child. For those on a Disney Dining Plan, booking the dining package at Tiffins will set guests back 2 dining credits. Also, please note that guests must arrive to dine no later than 3 hours prior to showtime to qualify for the Rivers of Light tickets.

The costs outlined in both packages excludes taxes, gratuity and alcohol. A valid Animal Kingdom theme park ticket is required. The preferred viewing section for Rivers of Light is separate from the dining location. At your meal, your server will provide you with dining package tickets that will allow you to gain access to the special seating area.

Demand for both packages is expected to be high so advanced booking is highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days before your visit.

Rivers of Light will officially open on February 17th!

According to the Disney website Rivers of Light will officially open on February 17th, 2017 in the Animal Kingdom!

Showtimes are being reported at 7:15pm every other day till March then the times get moved back to 8:45pm time slot.

As an added bonus in the month of April it looks like there will be 2 nightly shows at 8:30pm and 9:45pm!

Shanghai Disneyland ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Attraction Receives Industry Award

As the newest of the Disney Resorts, Shanghai Disneyland is home to some wonderfully innovative and immersive experiences for guests; Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure being one of them.

It’s no surprise that Disney announced today that yesterday the Visual Effects Society (VES) announced the winners of their annual VES Awards, honoring outstanding visual effects in motion pictures, television and other media. Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure won the award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project.

Disney describes the attraction as “an all-new, innovative ride experience developed specifically for Shanghai Disneyland. The spectacle experienced on the ride is on a grand scale and involves technology that has never been used before in a theme park attraction. It includes a highly advanced propulsion system that provides unprecedented control over the position and rotation of boats carrying guests through large, dimensional set pieces combined with large-scale media screens. Integrating media produced in collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Industrial Light & Magic with advanced animated figures and newly developed special effects creates a highly immersive experience.”

Exciting LORAC Pirates of the Caribbean Makeup Collection

It’s a pirate’s life for me, with this sensational sneak peek from LORAC’s twitter and instagram! Earlier this week the first look at the LORAC Pirates of the Caribbean Makeup collaboration sailed in.

The first image posted by LORAC looks to be a makeup pallet inspired by the new Pirates of the Caribbean Movie. LORAC also hinted that there was more to come! The Treasure in the Stars box looks so alluring that I can’t wait to see what’s inside. This product tease was almost as exiting as the full trailer launched during the Super Bowl!

Star Lord Look-Alike Character Auditions Being Held at Walt Disney World Resort

It looks as though Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy is coming to Walt Disney World Resort within the next two months for a special limited time engagement. Disney Auditions recently posted the following Male Character Look-alike opportunity on their website. Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 beginning at 4:00pm at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Wardrobe/Rehearsal Facility.

Disney Creative Entertainment is seeking Male Look-alike performers to help portray Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord from the film, Guardians of the Galaxy, at an upcoming special limited engagement at the Walt Disney World® Resort, near Orlando, FL. Performers should be local to the Central Florida area, and should be available to begin work within the next two months.

Performers hired into this role will also have the opportunity to bring to life the world-famous Disney Characters, in Character greeting experiences at our Parks and Resorts.

Seeking the following role:

Peter Quill/Star-Lord: Male, 6’ – 6’3”, with an athletic/muscular build. Peter Quill is an interstellar adventurer who must rally an unlikely team of cosmic misfits to prevent a powerful villain from destroying the galaxy. He is quick-witted, roguish, adventurous, and charming. Type Cast.

Open to all Cast Members from all lines of business, including Entertainment.
Open to current WDW Domestic College Program students.
Performers should be local to the Central Florida area and available to begin work within the next two months.
Open to the general public.
Advanced registration is not required.

GRAMMY-Nominated Mariachi Divas will Perform February 9th on Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage at Disneyland Resort

The Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea have been nominated for a GRAMMY Award in the Best Regional Mexican Album category for the seventh time. The group performs regularly in Disney California Adventure park and at Tortilla Jo’s in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.

The Divas have been performing at Disneyland Resort for the last 17 years, including 7 at Tortilla Jo’s. To celebrate the nomination, and in recognition of their loyal followers, the Mariachi Divas will present a concert at noon Thursday, Feb. 9, on the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage.

This year’s nomination is for the Divas’ 12th album, “Tributo a Joan Sebastian & Rigoberto Alfaro.” The album honors the music of Mexican singer-songwriter Joan Sebastian, himself a GRAMMY winner, and marks the first collaboration between Mariachi Divas founder Cindy Shea and legendary composer and mariachi musician Rigoberto Alfaro.

In 2014, the Mariachi Divas became the first mariachi group in history to receive a second GRAMMY, for their album “A Mi Manera.” Their first GRAMMY, for the 2009 album “Canciones De Amor,” marked the first time in history that an all-female mariachi group had been a nominee and a winner.

The 59th GRAMMY Awards ceremony will take place this Sunday, Feb. 12.

Doc McStuffins To Start Meeting Guests at Animal Kingdom

The Doc is in! To celebrate her fifth season on Disney Junior, Doc McStuffins will begin greeting guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this month. The location for this new daily meet and greet will be outside the veterinarian clinic at Rafiki’s Planet Watch where the Doc will be available to pose for photos and sign autographs.

While there, your little ones can also learn more about conservation and find out how the vets care for the animals that live in the park. There’s also a delightful train ride out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch which tends to be a favorite with young visitors to the Animal Kingdom.

Doc McStuffins will also continue greeting guests outside of Disney Junior Live On Stage over at Hollywood Studios.

I love sparkly things, especially when they are Disney themed, and I can never have to many Disney necklaces to keep a little Disney close to my heart no matter where I go. This Minnie Mouse Shaker Pendant is a perfect piece that’s not to flashy, but still full of sparkle!

New Website for Pandora Experience at Animal Kingdom Launches

Following the news that Pandora- World of Avatar Land will open this May, a new website has been launched that allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the backstory of the new attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

In true Disney fashion, the website fully immerses guests in the world of Pandora, and leads the guest to believe that they are on an expedition tour with Alpha Centauri Expeditions where they can explore the Valley of Mo’ara, ride a raft down the Kaspavan River, and even take flight on the back of a mountain banshee.
