A Galaxy Far, Far Away Show Adds Rey to Cast of Characters

This week the Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away returned to Hollywood Studios with the addition of Rey to the cast of beloved characters. Rey from The Force Awakens first debuted a couple of months ago at Star Wars Galactic Nights.

Here’s a video of Rey’s surprise appearance in April.

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away temporarily closed earlier this month. Hollywood Studios had planned to replace the permanent show stage in front of the Chinese Theatre with a mobile structure that could be moved prior to the evening fireworks show. It looks like for some reason that plan has been delayed which allowed for the early return of this performance. A variety of show times are offered throughout the day and the schedule can be found at www.disneyworld.com.

“Do you know who Maui is? Only the greatest demigod in all the pacific islands!” Thanks to @disneynews55 on Instagram it appears that Maui has ventured westward and is now appearing at the Summerblast Castle show at Shanghai Disney. Unfortunately, no official details have been released by Disney that our favorite demigod will be appearing at either Disney World or Disneyland. But, this little piece of info gives us hope that he might be coming…..fingers crossed!

Five Unique Disney Inspired Shower Curtains We Love

As a Disney Addict, I’m always looking for new ways to incorporate Disney items into my regular home decor. Shower curtains have always been a really easy way to do that. Unique Disney Inspired Shower Curtains add a pop of character to a bathroom!

Unique Disney inspired shower curtains don’t have to be paired with cartoonish accessories either! Finding accessories in coordinating colors, or complimenting patterns is a great way to accent a bold statement curtain. I usually draw from a few major colors in the curtain, and match towels, rugs, and other bathroom accessories from there. Here are a few of my favorite, and more unique curtains inspired by Disney.

Tangled Floating Lanterns Shower Curtain

This water color painting style curtain depicts the scene of Rapunzel and Flynn watching the floating lanterns from the boat. The colors are smokey and jeweled toned, and there’s a lot of fun elements to play on for decorating with this curtain.

The Little Mermaid Thomas Kinkade Shower Curtain

This shower curtain features a very well known and loved Thomas Kinkade painting of The Little Mermaid. This would even fit well in a nautical inspired bathroom!

Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride Inspired Shower Curtain

It’s a whole new world, with this beautiful and unique Disney shower curtain. Another painted style, which I think really tones down the cartoon aspect of the curtains. The shining crescent moon gleams down upon Aladdin and Jasmine as they skim over a river. Bold purple and gold accents would look amazing with this one!

Finding Dory Shower Curtain

This curtain is a bit more bold, but it’s playful and has vibrant colors. Again, this would look good in a nautical style bathroom, or even an underwater coral reef theme!

UP! Carl’s House Shower Curtain

Last but not least we go up, Up, UP, and away with the UP! inspired shower curtain. This is a painted style image of Carl’s house floating away on balloons. The decorating possibilities are really quite endless for this one. You could go with a multitude of themes, and of course there are tons of colors to choose from!

Roaring Fork Serving Breakfast This Morning In Soft Opening

We have good news for guests staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! Roaring Fork, the resort’s quick service option, has been closed for refurbishment since February. We have discovered that it was serving up breakfast this morning ahead of schedule! Disney’s site says it is still closed for refurbishment and the original date that was given for the re-opening was July 17. But we have photos that say different!

Until Disney gives the official word on this, it should be assumed that this is a soft opening and can change without notice. A big thank you to Chip and Co reader Phillip Halfacre for sharing his pictures!

Located on the ground floor of the main lodge guests can find grab-and-go or buffet options.

Drink stations, beer and wine are also available.

Continental and hot breakfast served in the morning and gourmet sandwiches, grill items and pizza later in the day.

Guests are given a number stand to place at their table. When your order is ready, a cast member will bring the food directly to your table.

I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to having another Roast beef and blue cheese sandwich!

Crews are Testing the New Disneyland Railroad Track Opening July 29th

To make way for the construction of the new Star Wars Land, early last year Disneyland Railroad along with five other attractions, shut down for major changes. According to Orange County Register, the Railroad has begun testing their new route in preparation of this summer’s reopening.

Testing will take place during the late afternoon and evenings. Crews will be checking to make sure all engines and rail cars are in working condition, as well as testing the new signals along the track. With such a major change to the route (the train now follows along Rivers of America and Big Thunder Trail, before making a sharp left towards Mickey’s Toontown in Fantasyland) Disney wants to guarantee the safety of its guests by ensuring its conductors are familiar with the new track.

The Disneyland Railroad is scheduled to reopen to guests on July 29th, 2017.

New Disney Junior Animated Series “Vampirina” Casts James Van Der Beek and Lauren Graham

Vampirina is a new animated series coming to Disney Junior this fall inspired by Disney Publishing’s popular children’s book series “Vampirina Ballerina”. Disney has announced that the lovable vampire cutie’s parents Boris and Oxana Hauntley will be played by James Van Der Beek from Dawson’s Creek and Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls.

James Van Der Beek and Lauren Graham will be joining Isabella Crovetti who will voice the star or the show Vee. The show will center around the lovable young Vampirina, aka Vee, as she faces the ups and downs of being the new vampire kid in town when she and her family move from Transylvania to Pennsylvania. How different could two places be, they both end in “vania” after all right?

Check out how adorable this vampire family is on and off screen!

The recurring guest voice cast will also include Tony-award winning Broadway performers Patti LuPone and Brian Stokes Mitchell as Vee’s grandparents, Nanpire and Grandpop. Wanda Sykes will be Vampirina’s gargoyle sidekick, Gregoria. The show’s music is by Broadway composers Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond. The theme song will be performed by the vampy family Van Der Beek, Graham, and Crovetti!

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away to Re-Open Tomorrow

Disney Hollywood Studios’ Star Wars -themed outdoor stage show Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away closed earlier this month as Disney was hoping to remove the permanent stage in front of the Chinese Theater used for the production and replace it with a mobile structure that could be moved out of the way to expand the viewing location for the evening fireworks performances. However technical difficulties have meant the stage show was dark longer than expected with the production slated to re-open in early July.

In what is good news for Star Wars fans heading to Hollywood Studios this weekend, it would appear that show will be up and running a bit ahead of schedule with performances resuming tomorrow June 28th. During this time, Disney is apparently abandoning the mobile stage for the re-opening and reverting back to the regular stage while kinks get worked out with the mobile structures.

Showtimes are currently showing up online at disneyworld.com.

Disney hasn’t released any information as of yet in terms of whether the show will go dark again this Summer to make way for the mobile stage but keep following along with us at Chip and Co and we promise to keep you posted!

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is a must-do for Star Wars fans both young and old. During this production Chewbacca, BB-8, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul and more take to the stage to recreate some of your favorite Star Wars scenes. There’s even a few familiar faces from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Disney Releases Official Statement on Donald Trump and The Hall of Presidents in Walt Disney World

Much controversy has been surrounded President Donald Trump being added to the Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. There was much speculation on if he was or wasn’t going to have a speaking role. Disney Parks has confirmed that President Trump will indeed have a speaking role and previewed some additional enhancements that will be coming to this historical exhibit.

Here is the full official statement from Disney:

“Since the Magic Kingdom Park opened in 1971, The Hall of Presidents has brought together a one-of-a-kind look at the office of the President of the United States through film and the magic of Disney’s Audio-Animatronics technology. Despite some media reports to the contrary, President Trump will have a speaking role in The Hall of Presidents, like every president since 1993. We have been working closely with the current White House — just as we have with previous administrations — and the president’s recording session has been scheduled. The attraction will re-open in late 2017.

Whenever we refurbish one of our attractions, we take the opportunity to consider a broad range of enhancements. In this case, The Hall of Presidents is getting a new show, and a complete theater upgrade including a new sound system, lighting and high-definition projection system. The multi-screen viewing experience you may have seen in prior versions of the attraction is returning with an even wider vantage point of our country’s history.”

The Hall of Presidents was scheduled to open sometime this week. However, the opening day has been pushed back and no new date has been announced.
