Disney Announces Date For Release Of Indiana Jones 5

Last year Bob Iger made the announcement that Indiana Jones 5 would be made. Disney has just announced that the film will be released on July 19, 2019.

Disney’s chairman Alan Horn said in a statement:

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

Harrison Ford will return to his title role and Steven Spielberg will direct.

This duo last worked together on 2008’s Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will both serve as producers. Steven Spielberg was quoted as saying that “George Lucas will be involved as an executive producer.”

Disney’s Moana As Told By Emoji

Disney today launched it’s 3rd season of its popular digital series, As Told by Emoji. The season premiere retells the story of the newest Disney animated film, Moana – with emoji-fied versions of Moana and Maui, as they navigate the ocean without GPS and play “Tekamon Go!” to restore the heart of Te Fiti.

Moana As Told By Emoji is the 14th episode to debut in the series, which is created in collaboration with the original filmmakers, who are excited to see their movies retold for a mobile-loving audience.

Director John Musker says, “Moana as Told By Emoji is a funny, playful and entertaining way of telling our story, but distilled down to its essence, finding clever ways of communicating certain ideas, whether it’s a boat sinking or whatever it might be. In a way, it’s like seeing an alternate reality version of our movie.”

The series has been translated into 25 languages and has reached more than 125 million views across platforms since debuting last year.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at Disneyland Resort is currently being refreshed and we have some new details to share with you. All guest rooms, pool areas and the concierge-level Craftsman Club as well as lobby furniture will be re-imagined with a modern approach to the Arts & Crafts design style.

Guest rooms will be completely redesigned to create a fresh sense of luxury. Every single element will be new—from the floors and walls to the furnishings, bedding and linens as well as upgraded bathrooms. Upon entry, you’ll notice hardwood flooring transition into soft, bright-toned carpeting. The room decor is a contemporary take on the Arts & Crafts style featuring all-new furniture made of natural oak, specially designed for each room, as well as California-inspired artwork created by artists and Imagineers, including beautiful headboard walls with wood inlay designs featuring orange trees and Chip ‘n Dale!

Guests with a sharp eye will catch other uniquely Disney details throughout these newly refreshed rooms. The first phase of refurbished rooms will be available to guests soon with an expected completion date by the end of 2017.

Yacht Club Resort Expanding Retail Shop and Food Offerings Starting in May

Changes are afoot over at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort with the property seeing refurbishments being made to both its retail outlet Fittings & Fairings Clothes & Notions as well as the opening of a new dining area where guests can snatch up grab and go items.

Over at Fittings & Fairings, a section of the retail outlet is currently closed making the shop noticeably smaller to returning Yacht Club guests. According to staff at this location, the entire shop will be closing down in April so that work can finish and then the fully expanded version will open to guests some time in May.

In addition, the Ale and Compass Lounge has emerged at Yacht Club as a location to grab some quick grub on the go. Here’s a look at the counter and seating areas.

This set-up is only temporary as included in the remodeling of Fittings & Fairings is re-imagined eatery to grab those food items on the go. Here’s a picture of the concept art current on display at Yacht Club.

Live Action Beauty and the Beast Cogsworth Clock Replica

I have to admit the new Live Action Cogsworth makes me do a double take to find his face! This Cogsworth Clock Replica is one of the many incredibly detailed collectibles inspired by the new Live Action Beauty and the Beast movie.

The Live Action Cogsworth is so incredibly ornate and detailed. It’s hard to even notice it’s an “alive” character until you look closely at the clock face. Cogsworth is a limited edition of 2000 resin figurine. The details inside the clock base are just breathtaking to me! I also love how they’ve disguised “arms and legs” as different parts of the clock as well. Cogsworth and Lumiere would look quite dashing on a shelf together!

Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Adds Second Nightly Performance

Animal Kingdom’s new evening show, Rivers of Light, is proving to be a favorite among guests. Walt Disney World has responded to the popularity of Rivers of Light by adding a second nightly performance.

Starting this Saturday, March 11, Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be offered twice a night on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. On March 11th, an 8:30pm show has been added to the schedule. Daylight savings time takes effect the following day and show times will be 8:45pm and 10:00pm on the selected dates. Park hours on these nights have been extended until 9:30PM.

Joffrey’s Revive Kiosk Officially Opens at Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland

Its a fantastic day for Disney-bound coffee lovers as Joffrey’s Coffee newest kiosk dubbed Revive officially opened its doors in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland.

Here’s your first look at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

And if all that celebrating isn’t enough, Joffrey’s will also be introducing a new signature drink exclusive to this Tomorrowland location.

Its called the S’mores Latte and combines espresso, chocolate, marshmallow cream sauce, whipped cream, marshmallows and graham cracker crumbles to re-create (with a bit of a caffeine kick) that famous treat from your childhood.

No visit to Walt Disney World would be complete without a walk down Main Street USA to fetch one of the amazing hot dogs available at Quick Service eatery Casey’s Corner. What makes this culinary adventure even more exciting is that starting this year, Casey’s will offer diners a bit of surprise every month with their specialty dog. March is certainly no exception with a creation that delightfully fuses together the much-loved American hot dog with some Asian-inspired touches.

As you can see from the picture above this month’s Feature Hot Dog features an Asian style coleslaw, sweet chili sauce and crispy eggroll strips. Here’s another look:

Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival Returns to Ragland Road at Disney Springs

Irish eyes will certainly be smiling at this year’s Raglan Road Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival at Disney Springs. Billed as the ‘mightiest of mighty Irish festivals’, Raglan Road’s Mighty Festival kicks off on Thursday, March 16 and runs through Sunday, March 19.

New to the Raglan Road’s Mighty Festival, the Young Dubliners will bring their hearty rock and Irish-infused tunes to the celebration.

The Byrne Brothers are also joining the line up for the first time, featuring brothers Luca, 12, Finn, 10, and Dempsey, 7. Their show combines exciting traditional Irish tunes with modern dance beats, and they’re known for fun audience interaction.

Rounding out the entertainment schedule are HanaLena Band, The Raglan Roots Coalition, Swingin’ On the Gate, Rollickin’ Rua, Jennifer Lyons and the Raglan Road Irish Dancers. Here is the full entertainment schedule.

On the food and beverage front, guests can order from popular brunch, lunch, bar and dinner menus, including loin of bacon and cabbage, the authentic Irish dish of St. Patrick’s Day. The pub’s specialty, fish and chips, will be available throughout the weekend in the main dining room as well as at the nearby Cooke’s of Dublin Counter-service eatery. Pair your selection with Guinness, the new Mighty Festival brew (a collaboration with the local Orange Blossom Brewing Co.) or a Bailey’s Shake for the perfect combo.

Irish holiday attire is encouraged, but for those who need an extra dose of shamrock flair, complimentary face painting will be available from noon – 8 p.m. daily during the festival.

Please note: On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis with a cover charge of $10 for each guest age 18 and older. To make reservations for other festival days, call 407-938-0300.

The festivities take place from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. March 16-19, 2017.

Michael Kenneth Williams Joins Young Han Solo Cast

Even though the Han Solo film (“Red Cup” is the official shooting title) is currently filming they are still continuing to cast top notch actors. Michael Kenneth Williams has officially signed on. Williams is most known in both TV and film, including Omar Little in The Wire and Albert “Chalky” White in Boardwalk Empire, bringing charisma, humanity, and nobility to all his performances.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing the untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, with a cast that includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Thandie Newton, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.

The movie will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, Simon Emanuel, and co-produced by Kiri Hart, Susan Towner, and Will Allegra. Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin will executive produce.

The untitled Han Solo movie, set prior to the events of the original Star Wars trilogy, is slated for release on May 25, 2018.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Location in Disney Springs Now Open

There have been many new additions to Disney Springs in the last year or so, and now we can add one more beauty and skincare boutique to the list. We hear that Kiehl’s Since 1851 has opened their 6th Florida location at Disney Springs as of Friday March 3rd.

According to their website, Kiehl’s began 165 years ago as an Old World Apothecary, starting as a single pharmacy in Manhattan at Third Avenue and East 13th Street in 1851. Over the years it slowly evolved into a cosmetics brand retailer that specializes in premium skin, hair, and body care products.

Royal Tea Garden Tour Charms Visitors at Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

A perfect morning pursuit for any Anglophiles visiting during the 2017 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, the Royal Tea Garden Tour will be delighting guests with its quaint garden tea time running at 9:30 am each morning through until May 29, 2017.

Guests check into the Rose and Crown Dining Room located at the United Kingdom Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. The tour takes place in the Tea Garden and lasts approximately 45 minutes. During this time guests get to indulge in a traditional British Cream Tea that includes scones with Earl Grey butter, clotted cream, jam and Twinings Tea. Guests will also find out a bit more about the history surrounding Twinings tea-makers who have been in operation since 1706 as well as a bit of background about the different teas they offer.

The cost of the tour is $15 per person. A valid Epcot theme park ticket is also essential. Guests interested in participating should contact Disney at 407-WDW-TOUR.
