Is Disney Secretly Working on a Star Wars themed Resort?

Hey y’all! It’s Anonymouse here back with some extra juicy Disney World Gossip!

We are hearing from our friends over at WDW News Today that Disney is starting to look into the possibility of building a new resort at Walt Disney World. And what is the theme of this new resort you might ask? How about a Star Wars-themed resort on an “actual” Star Wars Starship!

Yes, you read that right….a Star Wars-themed resort may be an option for lodging at Disney World! You and your family can sleep on a Starship!

Apparently, Disney has contacted Swagbucks to gauge interest in this new resort. The survey includes renderings of what a stay on the Starship would be like.

The resort would offer an all-inclusive resort experience with the following magical touches:

Full immersion into a 2-day/night story set somewhere in the Star Wars universe. Guests will be treated to a non-stop, story-driven interactive entertainment experience as it plays out over the course of your stay.
Star Wars characters will appear throughout the Starship giving guests the ability to have personal interactions with them. Guests will have the choice to experience the story first-hand or just observe the action.
The experience will offer such programs as flight training, ship exploration, lightsaber training, and secret missions tailored to each guest.
The 2-day experience will not just be confined to the Starship. Guests will be able to interact throughout the Star Wars-themed planet at as well.

Guests will be treated to the full-experience in luxury accommodations. The all-inclusive options offered will be:

All meals for your stay will be included. This includes buffet breakfasts, lunch, and signature dining for dinner
Daily entertainment and dinner shows
Admission to the new Star Warts land opening at Disney World in Hollywood Studios in 2019
Starship amenities will include a pool, water garden, fitness center, cantina, and even robotic droid butlers

Overall, for the price of $900 to $1000 a person, you will be receiving the following:

2 nights in a luxury Starship
A guest room that will accommodate up to 4 people including an interactive “view” of the galaxy or pool/atrium
All meals included from check-in to check-out
A 1-day ticket to Hollywood Studios to visit Star Wars Land

Can you imagine! This is just too much excitement for any Star Wars fan! I can’t wait to see that robotic droid butler first-hand.

As always, nothing is official until Disney confirms it. However, these details seem to match up pretty well with the details coming out of the Star Wars Disney panel held over this past weekend at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.

Disney Is Showing Off This Summer With New Attractions and Shows

This summer Disney World is pulling out all the stops to bring first class entertainment, attractions and shows to all of it’s guests. Animal Kingdom will be showing off it’s brand new land along side it’s breath-taking new nighttime show. Magic Kingdom is answering back with it’s own state-of-the-art nighttime fireworks spectacular. Hollywood Studios is still dropping jaws with its legendary entertainment and Disney Springs is setting the bar with new dining, featuring celebrated chefs from around the world.

Animal Kingdom

On May 27 Animal Kingdom guests are transported to the moon of Pandora. A world featuring floating mountains, alien wildlife, and rain forest home to bioluminescent plants. Created in partnership with director James Cameron and Lightstorm entertainment, this 12 acre land will hold multiple attractions, entertainment, audio-animatronics, 3-D holograms as well as retail, food and beverage options.

Visitors to Pandora will experience two new attractions. Avatar Flight of Passage allows guests to fly with a real mountain Banshee and soar over the floating mountains. Na’vi River Journey takes passengers on a boat ride along the Kasvapan River through a bioluminescent landscape.

Satu’li Canteen, the main dining location, offers guests the opportunity to personalize their meal options. Pongu Pongu, which translated means “Party Party” will surely serve drinks worthy of its namesake. Visitors wanting to bring home keepsakes can visit Windtraders for science kits, toys, and Na’vi cultural items.

Once the sun goes down visitors to Animal Kingdom can experience Rivers of Light, the new nighttime show. Using an original score, this visually striking show shows the connections between humans and the animals around us. This celebration of nature uses its elements, water and fire, to tell its choreographed story.

Magic Kingdom Park

May will also be an exciting time in the Magic Kingdom. Guests are treated to a brand new nighttime fireworks display, “Happily Ever After“. This show will use the latest technology in projection mapping to bring its newest story to life. For 18 minute Disney will take guests through a story filled with love and laughter featuring beloved moments from iconic Disney films like “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladin”, “Moana”, and “Zootopia”. Fireworks, pyrotechnics, and an original score will only enhance this production that uses Cinderella castle as it’s canvas.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

“The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters” is introduced three times nightly inside the Theater of the Stars. This new 40 minute nighttime presentation will showcase unforgettable scores from Pixar films presented by a full orchestra. Beloved Pixar characters like Woody, Jessie, Mike, and Sulley, and the Incredibles will be on hand to entertain the audience while guests enjoy songs from our favorite Pixar movies like “Cars” and “Toy Story”

Star Wars is still a major player in Hollywood Studios offering amazing experiences throughout the day. BB-8 from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is now appearing at Star Wars Launch Bay to greet guests. Authentic movie props from the latest in the Star Wars epic “Rogue One” will also be on display at Star Wars Launch Bay and the new daytime stage show “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far, Away” will feature the new AWR Troopers from that movie as well.

Disney’s Water Parks

After a hot day in the parks, guests can now cool down on the new family-friendly water attraction “Miss Adventure Falls“. Families will be following the story of Captain Mary Oceaneer, a treasure hunter who ended up on Typhoon Lagoon after a huge storm marooned her. Guests are transported in their “treasure rafts” to experience this two-minute adventure, the longest attraction at Typhoon Lagoon.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, the “Frozen” Summer Games return from May 26 – Aug. 13. Kristoff and Olaf will be available for a special character greeting and photo opportunity, making Blizzard Beach the only place where guests can meet Kristoff at Walt Disney World Resort. During the friendly competition, guests will be able to take part in ice-pail relays, a snowball toss and much more snowy fun.

Disney Springs
The culinary scene at Disney Springs continues to evolve with more exciting food and beverage locales, including The Polite Pig and Paddlefish, both opened recently.

Featuring modern barbecue cuisine prepared in an open kitchen, The Polite Pig serves up Southern sides like mac-and-cheese and smoked corn and a hearty selection of craft beers and cocktails. There’s also a bourbon bar offering more than 50 selections. The Polite Pig is the newest concept from award-winning Orlando Chefs James and Julie Petrakis who own local favorite restaurants The Ravenous Pig and Swine & Sons.

Guests can also step aboard Paddlefish, Disney Springs’ iconic 1800’s paddleboat that’s been reimagined into a modern yacht experience. Paddlefish offers guests a delectable menu of fresh seafood, steaks and chops for lunch and dinner, as well as a delectable Sunday brunch. A new rooftop lounge serves up a late-night menu as well as fantastic views of the water and Disney Springs.

Disney Resort Hotels
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort opens as the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort on July 17. Inspired by the legendary mining and railroad history of the Pacific Northwest, guests will come “home” to rustic elegance with these new studios, villas and waterfront cabins.

At Disney’s BoardWalk, there’s an enchanting new dining experience at Trattoria al Forno, the Bon Voyage Breakfast, featuring beloved Disney characters including Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel and Prince Eric. Guests can make reservations by visiting DisneyWorld.com/dining or by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Cost is $34 for adults and $20 for children.

James Gunn confirms there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!

James Gunn announced via Facebook yesterday that he will be returning to write and direct the third installment in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie franchise.

Gunn released a statement that said:

“I could save this answer for the first, random interviewer to ask me during the press junket but instead I thought I’d share it with the most important people in the Guardiansverse – you, the fans, who have been so incredibly supportive and enthusiastic over the past five years, it has moved me to tears on a regular basis. So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine, and I feel they have more adventures to go on and things to learn about themselves and the wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we all inhabit. And, like in both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect.”

Gunn also ventured to say that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” would help set up the next decade of storytelling in the universe of Marvel and that he endeavored to make sure the future of Marvel would be as “special and authentic and magical” as its past.

I can’t wait for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and even more excited knowing there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as well!

‘Pandora – The World of Avatar’ Comes Alive With Plants & Animals

There are so many exciting details being released about the design and plans for the much anticipated opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Today we are hearing how Walt Disney Imagineering and Lightstorm Entertainment aimed to create an entirely new world for guests to explore including designing an ecosystem of plants and animals.

This week Walt Disney Imagineering shared this video, in which members of the project team reveal the first detailed look at the land’s interactive plants, tell us how you’ll be able to hear and sense different animals throughout the land, and interact with bioluminescence at night.

The Cast for Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical Has Been Announced

“Frozen” is coming to Broadway, and the cast has just been announced. Disney’s favorite sister duo Anna and Elsa will be played by Patti Murin (Anna) and Caissie Levy (Elsa). Murin and Levy are no strangers to Broadway, Levy has starred on Broadway in “Ghost,” ”Wicked” and the 2014 revival of “Les Miserables.” Murin starred on the Great White Way in “Lysistrata Jones” and “Xanadu.” The pair will be joined by Jelani Alladin as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth as Olaf, John Riddle as Hans and Robert Creighton as the Duke of Weselton. Rob Ashford will be replacing Christopher Gattellias as choreographer.

The husband-and-wife songwriting team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote music for the film, are returning to work on the stage show, and Jennifer Lee, co-director and screenwriter of the film, is writing the story. Michael Grandage is directing.

With Spring Break and cooler weather behind us, I’m sure I am not the only one who is starting to think of summer vacation! Just in time for your summer visits, Disneyland has released details on exciting events going on at both parks and announces it’s going to be a “Summer of Heroes” at Disney California Adventure.

We can confirm that the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction will be opening at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland on May 27th. The highly anticipated new attraction takes guests into a chaotic and hilarious adventure that combines a breathtaking free-fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects. The action jumps to the beat of the attraction’s “awesome mix tape” of music, inspired by the films soundtracks. Guests will discover multiple ride experiences as they help the unique hero Rocket in a daring plan to free the Guardians–a band of extraterrestrial misfits–from the fortress of The Collector, Taneleer Tivan.

Join in the fun of the Guardinans’ opening with the “Summer of Heroes” celebration going on at Disney California Adventure. During this celebration, lasting from May 27th to September 10th, 2017, you can meet Heroes from the Guardian of the Galaxy film (some appearing for the first time in a Disney park!) along with other iconic Super Heroes. The “Summer of Heroes” also introduces an ever-expanding universe of Super Hero stories at Disney California Adventure that will become even bigger over time. In addition, guests in the park’s Hollywood Land will join some favorite Super Heroes for epic, new experiences for a limited time.

Some Super Hero experiences that Disney California Adventure will be able to experience year-round:

Super Hero Encounters: For the first time, citizens of Terra (Earth) will come face-to-face with Groot. They also may encounter the First Avenger, Captain America, and everyone’s favorite web slinger, the friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man.
“Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!”: Star-Lord fires up his old-school boom box to get a party started. Everyone, including tree-of-few-words Groot, is bound to get in the groove and show off their moves during this awesome rock ‘n’ roll bash.

These adventures will only be available for guests to enjoy during the “Summer of Heroes” (May 27th to September 10th, 2017):

“Avengers Training Initiative”: Black Widow and Hawkeye assemble young recruits for a series of tests to see if they have what it takes to join the ranks of the Avengers.
Heroic Encounter: Black Widow: Black Widow arrives on the scene several times throughout the day in an armored Avengers vehicle for her heroic encounter with park guests.
Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action: Special themed merchandise, plus food and beverage items, will be available throughout Hollywood Land.

Disneyland Park

As previously reported, over in Disneyland Park, guests will have the opportunity to view the Main Street Electrical Parade for an extended period of time. Due to popular demand, the parade has been extended until August 20th, 2017. The nighttime parade features beloved Disney characters and stories, half a million twinkling lights, the synthesized music of “Baroque Hoedown” and the heartwarming joy of nostalgia. Nightly performances feature favorites like Cinderella’s ball, Elliot, the smoke-breathing, tail-waggin “Pete’s Dragon” and the glittering “To Honor America” finale.

A new event that will be debuting in Disneyland Park this summer is the “Disney Junior Dance Party.” Debuting Friday, May 26th, this fun concert experience invites adults and kids to dance and sing along to the music. Popular Disney Junior characters from Disney Junior TV shows “Doc McStuffins,” “Sofia the First” and “The Lion Guard” are joined by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from the new series “Mickey and the Roadster Racers.”

Along with the Main Street Electrical Parade and the Disney Junior Dance Party, some classic guest favorites have been enhanced and are set to return in Summer 2017. Dates of these events will be announced soon.

The popular nighttime spectacular “Fantasmic!” is set to re-open this summer on the Rivers of America, enhanced with new scenes and features. Guests will find Mickey Mouse in more scenes than ever before, and they’ll discover new roles for Genie from “Aladdin,” “Rapunzel,” “The Lion King” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
As work continues on a new Star Wars-themed land, set to open in 2019, the iconic Disneyland Railroad is preparing to return this summer to take guests on a tour of the park. They’ll enjoy a new look along the Rivers of America, with a spectacular new vista of a waterfall, rocky cliffs and a dramatic gorge below.
Also returning later this summer are the Rivers of America attractions: the Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes and Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.
In Tomorrowland, Star Wars and Disney fans will step into out-of-this-galaxy experiences at Star Wars Launch Bay, meeting some Star Wars characters and getting an up-close look at replica props and models from Star Wars movies, including the latest “Rogue One: A Star Wars”

‘Frozen’ Summer Games are Back This Summer at Blizzard Beach!

We are excited to confirm that the “Frozen” Summer Games will be back for another year at Blizzard Beach in Walt Disney World! The Summer Games offer Blizzard Beach guests the chance to play on Team Kristoff or Team Olaf and compete in a variety of activities at the water park. Following the success of the inaugural “Frozen” Summer Games last year, everything from Ice Pail Relays and a Snowball Toss to Ski Pole Limbo and Slide Races, will be back for guests to enjoy.

For the first time in forever, you will be able to meet and take photos with Kristoff and Olaf at Blizzard Beach! Either Kristoff or Olaf will be at a designated character greeting location at the park, where you can snap photos of each “Frozen” star and let them know which team you chose to play for.

In addition to all the water competition events offered, guests will be able to participate in crafts, games, and enjoy a DJ spinning the hottest beats throughout the day.

The games will commence on May 26th with “closing ceremonies” on August 13th, 2017.

Tangled Before Ever After DVD Review

Fans of the Disney Movie Tangled are going to love this all new DVD that is out now, Tangled Before Ever After. Tangled ‘Before Ever After’ bridges the gap between the Disney Movie and the all new Disney Channel Series. My daughters and I had a chance to check out this DVD over Easter and fell in love! All your favorite characters returned for not only this DVD but also in the Tangled Series, in case you haven’t been watching.

After all those years stuck in a tower, everyone’s favorite long haired Princess Mandy Moore yearns to make up for lost time. With the help of her one true love Eugene played by Zachary Levi, pals Pascal and Maximus and daring new friend Cassandra, Rapunzel postpones her wedding and royal duties to defy danger and boldly explore life beyond Corona’s walls.

Not only does Tangled Before Ever After have an awesome cast it also features music from the legendary Alan Menken!

For those who let little ones watch it in the car this movie auto-plays in your mobile dvd player. I wish all DVD’s did this but thankfully almost all of Disney DVD’s do. So turn it on and start driving after the previews it starts playing automatically.

My girls have been watching Tangled Before Ever After over and over for the past week and I asked them what they thought and I got 2 big thumbs up. My only complaint is that I wish the movie would have been a little longer but if you have been watching the series you can continue on with the story line while filling in things like how her hair grew back.

I won’t give away any more of the movie and highly recommend fans of Rapunzel pick up this DVD. Pricing for the DVD will run you between $12 on Amazon to around $14 at Target. So run out and get yours today, I promise you won’t be disappointed…

The video game is set to premiere the first of five episodes on April 18th for $4.99 USD or equivalent on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One®, Windows PC, and Mac, as well as available to download on the App Store® and Google Play™. The series will also be available as a special ‘Season Pass Disc’ on May 2nd at retailers across North America for an MSRP of $29.99 USD, and on May 5th at retailers elsewhere across the globe. The special ‘Season Pass Disc’ will include Episode One: Tangled Up in Blue, and will grant access to download the subsequent four episodes via online updates as they are released in the coming months of 2017. Additional platforms for release are yet to be announced.

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series” is a brand new story of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. New Groundbreaking Experiences Premiere During Blockbuster Summer of Fun at Disney Parks

Anchored by two amazing new experiences – one an alien planet where mountains float and Banshees fly, the other an epic adventure inviting a breathtaking drop into the world of Super Heroes – Disney parks on both coasts are poised to make summer 2017 a season like none other. It all begins May 27, with the debuts of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Walt Disney World Resort and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at the Disneyland Resort.

With a supporting cast of even more new events and great attractions at both resorts, there’s plenty of fun in the sun for Disney Parks guests in California and Florida.

Starting this summer they will be able to step into the worlds of their favorite stories and characters like never before.”

Throughout the season, guests at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts will experience the kind of sensational adventures only Disney can create.

At Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, opening May 27: Pandora – The World of Avatar, an all-new land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will transport guests to a mystical world of bioluminescent rainforests, floating mountains and soaring banshees. In collaboration with filmmaker James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment, Disney is bringing to life the fantasy world of Pandora, inspired by Cameron’s epic film AVATAR. Guests will fly above the jungles of Pandora while riding on a mountain banshee on the thrilling Avatar Flight of Passage. And they’ll board reed boats for Na’vi River Journey, a family-friendly excursion down a rainforest river to see the Na’vi Shaman of Songs.

At Disneyland Resort in California, opening May 27: Outrageous and irreverent characters from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, comics and animated series lead guests on a high-energy adventure in Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure Park. The chaotic and hilarious adventure combines a breathtaking free-fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects, plus the attraction’s “awesome mix tape” of music inspired by the films’ soundtracks. Guests will board a gantry lift for multiple, random ride experiences in a pulse-pounding rise and fall as they join Rocket, one of the most unusual heroes a guest will encounter, in a daring plan to free the captive Guardians from The Collector’s Fortress. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is the cornerstone of the summertime celebration, Summer of Heroes, where guests will enjoy Super Hero encounters; an awesome dance-off featuring Star-Lord and Gamora; and, for a limited time, a challenging “Avengers Training Initiative” for young recruits.

AT DISNEYLAND RESORT

As Disney California Adventure unveils the sensational new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and Summer of Heroes, exciting experiences will be found all across the Disneyland Resort this summer. Specific dates for some will be announced soon.

Guests have a chance to be dazzled by the beloved and iconic “Main Street Electrical Parade,” with an extended run through Aug. 20.
The spectacular nighttime “Fantasmic!” show re-opens at Disneyland this summer, and the classic Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America attractions return to delight park guests.
Also in Disneyland, Star Wars and Disney fans will step into out-of-this-galaxy adventures at Star Wars Launch Bay, meeting some Star Wars characters and getting an up-close look at replica props and models from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
Across both parks, guests will meet characters familiar and new – from Moana and Chewbacca to the stars of Summer of Heroes, including Groot, Captain America and Spider-Man. Photos with Groot are sure to be a big hit as he makes his first appearance in a Disney park.
“Disney Junior Dance Party” debuts Friday, May 26, at Disney California Adventure, creating a fun concert experience where adults and kids can sing and dance along to the music. Popular Disney Junior characters from Disney Junior TV shows “Doc McStuffins,” “Sofia the First” and “The Lion Guard” will be joined by characters from the new series “Mickey and the Roadster Racers.”

AT WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT

The stunning world of Pandora headlines a full lineup of new attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. From theme parks to water parks to resorts to Disney Springs, there’s something new in every corner of this world.

A dazzling new after-dark show, Rivers of Light, treats Disney’s Animal Kingdom guests to a celebration of nature in an experience that features water, floats, projections, fire and light choreographed to an original musical score.
A new nighttime experience premieres at Disney’s Hollywood Studios May 26. A full orchestra will provide the soundtrack for a 40-minute visual journey into The Music of Pixar LIVE!
Additional movie replicas from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story welcome guests to Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
A new family-friendly raft adventure, Miss Adventure Falls, recently debuted at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.
