Military Discounts Available for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Military personnel can take advantage of greatly discounted tickets to select dates of this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Active and Retired U.S. Military, including members of the U.S. Coast Guard and participating members of the National Guard and Reserve, may purchase discounted party tickets for themselves and up to five additional tickets for family members and friends.

Where Can You Purchase These Specially Priced Tickets?

Direct From Walt Disney World: These special tickets must be purchased in person (with proper military ID) from Walt Disney World ticket or Guest Relations locations! They can not be pre-purchased over the phone or internet.
From Shades of Green:You may also purchase these special tickets in person at Shades of Green’s Ticket Office. New this year, Shades of Green will ship these tickets for a fee. You can call them at : (407) 824-1403 and they will email you the forms that you need to fill out. There is a fee ($10) to FedEx the tickets to you.

Please note that tickets cannot be purchased at Base Ticket Offices, DisneyWorld.com or over the phone.

Military Discounted Prices are offered on the following nights:

August 25 & 29
September 1, 7, 10, 12, 17 & 24

Party Hours: 7:00 pm – midnight (note that guests can arrive as early at 4:00pm with a MNSSHP ticket)

Special Military Discount MNSSHP Ticket Prices are:

Adult – $53.25 plus tax
Child (3-9) – $49.75 plus tax

What if the event sells out in advance?

These events often sell out. However, Military personnel can still purchase party tickets for sold out events, both military discounted nights and regular priced party nights. For sold out nights, Military discounted tickets for “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party” will be available ONLY at the Magic Kingdom Front Gate Guest Relations windows (to the right of the park entrance) on the day of the event.

New Dancing With The Stars Celebrity Cast Revealed Live On Good Morning America

Mark your calendars and set your DVRs! This Wednesday, September 6th, the exciting new cast of the 25^th season of “Dancing with the Stars” will be revealed live exclusively on “Good Morning America” (7:00-9:00 a.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. The competition begins with an all-new cast of celebrities who will be paired up with the show’s pro dancers and brave the dance floor for the very first time. Each week these celebrities will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of grueling rehearsals to master new dance styles and technical choreography to perform a dance, which will be judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts as well as voted upon by viewers. New Park Maps Coming to Hollywood Studios this Weekend

As you may have heard, The Great Movie Ride recently closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, to make way for the new attraction Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. With the closing of the original park ride, and end to the summer, comes new guidemaps.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios last changed their maps coming into the summer, the cover theme switched from Star Wars to a picture featuring their popular Toy Story Midway Mania attraction (above left) no doubt to tie in with the addition of The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters. The limited running summer show is coming to an end, and along with The Great Movie Ride, will not appear in the new park maps. The cover art will keep with the current theme, using another photo of Toy Story Midway Mania (above right.) This is not surprising, considering the announced opening date of Toy Story Land next summer.

The updated park maps will be available Sunday, August 27th

Restroom Renovation Planned For Disney Cruise Line Terminal At Port Canaveral

Yesterday the Port Canaveral Board of Commissioners approved the motion to begin a restroom renovation project inside Disney Cruise Line’s Terminal #8. Disney’s senior management had previously brought up concerns regarding the dated restroom facilities which are now about 20 years old.

Four bids for the project were considered and the lowest responsive bidder, The Watauga Company from Titusville, was awarded the contract. The bid to complete the project to “re-Disneyfy” the eight restrooms at cruise terminal 8 is $453,265.00.

Work is expected to be done during days when Disney Cruise Line is not in port and no passengers are in the terminal. Only one restroom will be worked on at a time. Disney did request that every day when work was finished the facility must be “white glove” clean by the time they leave so that the next group of passengers would not be effected.

Actress Claire Danes took a break from her busy acting schedule to hang out with Goofy and pals at the Magic Kingdom this Wednesday. It looks like she took a spin on my son’s favorite ride, The Barnstormer!

Danes is best known for her role in the popular series, Homeland, and has won two Emmys and two Golden Globes from her portrayal of Carrie Mathison on the show. She has also won other Emmys and Golden Globes for her acting in Temple Grandin and her breakout role as Angela Chase in My So Called Life.

In addition to her TV accolades, she has also preformed in various movies such as Little Women, Romeo + Juliette, and The Family Stone.

Mobile Order Feature Now Includes 15 Restaurants On My Disney Experience App

My Disney Experience has become an invaluable tool that provides guests an easier way to plan and enjoy their Disney World vacation. The Mobile Order allows guests to purchase quick-service meals on-demand, saving valuable park hopping time. And, it’s not the only new feature of My Disney Experience, which is making vacation personalization easier than ever. Online Mobile Check In at Disney Resort hotels, online ticket purchasing, FastPass+, Disney PhotoPass and more are all available at the touch of a button.

The roll out of the Mobile Order service has been received by park visitors with such success that it is now officially available at 15 different locations throughout Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. It allows guests to order on demand at quick-service restaurants, pay in advance, and skip the line. That way time can be better spent enjoying the attractions and experiences throughout the resort.

To use Mobile Order, sign in to the My Disney Experience app and tap the “Order Food” button, which lists restaurants that offer the service. Browse restaurant menus, select items, customize your order and prepay, all right through the app. Then, when you arrive at the restaurant, just tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” in the app, which notifies the kitchen to prepare your meal. When it’s ready, a notification will alert you to pick up your meal from the “Mobile Order Pick Up” area in the restaurant. There is also a video at the end of this article that walks you through this process.

“Find the Force” An Augmented Reality Event Announced For “Force Friday II”

Two years ago a global phenomenon called Force Friday swept through Star Wars fans everywhere. Yesterday Disney and Lucasfilm announced Find the Force, a global augmented reality (AR) event rolling out on Force Friday II (September 1) to commemorate the worldwide launch of new products inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The pop-up AR treasure hunt aims to unite fans around the world in the battle against the dark side in a unique three-day event at over 20,000 retail locations across 30 countries. As fans turn up to take home new Star Wars: The Last Jedi products, they will have the opportunity to activate a unique augmented reality experience featuring Star Wars characters, including fan-favorites and new surprise additions from the film.

“Force Friday II is a major milestone in the countdown to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Star Wars has always championed new technology, and we are excited that augmented reality will allow fans to experience the universe in a whole new way,” says Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm.

From September 1-3, retailers around the world will invite fans to Find the Force by taking part in an AR treasure hunt. Here’s how it works: first, download the Star Wars App, which is your one-stop-shop for all things Star Wars (those who already have the app will need to download the latest version). Then, visit any one of 20,000 participating retail locations to find a graphic that contains the Find the Force logo. When you scan the graphic using the Star Wars App, you’ll reveal a character, who through augmented reality, will appear in the room with you. You can then take photos, record videos, and share the experience on social media. Come back each day to reveal new characters (15 in total across the program’s three-day run).
