Winter Summerland Golf Course to Close For Refurbishment Starting October 23rd

Fan’s of Disney World’s miniature golf course should take note that Winter Summerland Miniature Golf (the one just outside of Blizzard Beach) will be closed for refurbishment starting on October 23rd.

There are two courses at Winter Summerland, the Winter Course and the Summer Course. As part of the closure, the Summer course is currently closed. Guests visiting over the next two weeks can enjoy the Winter Course but only until October 23rd, when the entire course closes.

Winter Summerland will remain closed until November 11, 2017.  Guests interested in playing mini golf during this time are still able to do so at the Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf Course located near the Swan and Dolphin which will remain open throughout this period.

Hi there Chip and Company friends! It has been whole month (before Hurricane Irma) since we had our last check-in with @bioreconstruct. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to get the latest bird’s eye view to see how construction progress is going at Hollywood Studios. It looks like more theming has been added to Toy Story Land and exterior walls are appearing over at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Let’s take a look….

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Framing is up around two of the ride circles with the roof being installed too.

Here is an image of the front of the Millennium Falcon attraction. There is still speculation on the ride system being used. You can read about our theory here.

The walls are going up now! Say good bye to the AT-AT walkers until the land officially opens,

Toy Story Land

You can see that the Slinky Dog Dash attraction takes up a good portion of Toy Story Land.

As we reported earlier, Slinky Dog was officially welcomed to Toy Story Land and now sits on the track that Andy built for him.

This acceleration section of the track looks awesome!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Premiere Event To Take Place Tomorrow at Downtown Disney in Disneyland

Anticipation is definitely building for the latest Star Wars installment, The Last Jedi which will be opening in theatres on December 15, 2017.  With a little over two months to go, Disneyland will be holding a special event tomorrow (October 9th)  at Downtown Disney in Disneyland that promises to provide guests with a sneak peek of the upcoming film, via a soon-to-be released trailer.

The trailer will be played on a giant screen outside the AMC Downtown Disney 12 Theatres.  The event starts at 5 pm and will include a live DJ, trivia and giveaways. Following the premiere, Star Wars: The Last Jedi tickets will be on sale online and at the AMC Downtown Disney 12 Theatres Box office.

If you can’t make it to the premiere party, the trailer will also be running during “Monday Night Football” the details of which you can find here.

The New Disneyland ‘You Are Here’ Mug is a Must For Your Collection

As I reported earlier today, the new Starbucks “You Are Here” mugs are all the rage for coffee-loving Disney fans. Now, let me introduce you to the last one to complete your collection: Introducing the Disneyland “You Are Here” mug.

The 2017 edition of the mug has received a colorful update and features shades of pastel pinks and purples and a more whimsical design. Guests can find the mug at Market House on Main Street inside of Disneyland Park. Each one costs $17.

With the introduction of the 2017 edition, the original mug will unfortunately no longer be offered. We have heard reports that there are still some of the originals available for purchase but inventory is extremely low. Even though the new mugs are also flying off the shelves, we have heard they are constantly being restocked and will continue to do so.

As I was scrolling through Instagram today, I came across the much-anticipated Starbucks and Disney’s California Adventure mug! If you have been following along with us the past few weeks, you will know that these “You Are Here” limited edition mugs are the newest hot item to arrive in Disney World. I definitely had to make sure our fans know that the Disneyland editions are now out and ready to add to your collection.

The mug can be found at Starbucks at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café on Buena Vista Street inside Disney’s California Adventure Park. The mug costs $17 plus tax and features the highlights of California Adventure Park’s attractions including the World of Color on the back.

The festivities begin on your way into the celebration with plenty of Pluto-inspired decorations. To honor the Year of the Dog, the customary kadomatsu decoration at the entrance to World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland will feature Pluto and the entrance to Passaggio MiraCosta in Tokyo DisneySea will display banners.

Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and more favorite Disney characters will wish everyone a happy “New Year’s Greeting” during a special parade at Tokyo Disneyland and a harbor show at Tokyo DisneySea every day of the celebration. Mickey and Minnie will be dressed in their finest kimono to honor the occasion.

More than 50 new merchandise items will be on sale starting November 17, including kimono-clad Disney character plush badges and Pluto motif daruma, a Japanese good luck doll. Other items include New Year’s greeting cards and stamp sets featuring Mickey and his friends dressed in kimono.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, try a few delicious Pluto-themed treats or enjoy dessert from souvenir Japanese tea cups. Beginning December 26, the Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will also offer limited-time New Year’s menus.

There’s a new Marvel Original series coming to Hulu, featuring a band of teenage heroes. The Marvel’s Runaways Teaser Trailer debuted this week, and it’s full of mystery and intrigue that has us wanting more!

Marvel’s Runaways follows a group of teenagers who band together after they discover their parents are super-villains in disguise. They unite together in order to atone for their parents’ actions and to discover the secrets of their origins. The new series debuts only on Hulu this fall, Tuesday, November 21. The trailer had a lot of action, and sneak peeks that not only have you curious and wanting to know more, but also appeals to future super-hero fans.

MagicBand Puck Keeper Slider

One of the things that I’m always doing when I wear a MagicBand, is looking at my wrist to check the time. I know there isn’t a watch there, but it still doesn’t stop me from checking. With the versatility of the new “puck” of the MagicBand 2 though, that might not be a problem anymore! My Design Accessories on Etsy came up with this clever little MagicBand Puck Keeper Slider, that allows you to slide your puck onto a watch!

I really love the ingenuity that people have come up with for new ways to wear the MagicBand 2 pucks, it helps Disney lovers show off their own unique personalities more. This keeper slider is designed to hold a Walt Disney World Magic Band 2 Puck on a wristband. The designer has tried it out with many different bands, including the Apple Watch. This on my FitBit would be the best of 3 worlds for me. It’s usually annoying trying to put both hands on the same wrist, or having one on each wrist, so with this I’d have my activity tracker, time, and MagicBand all in one. Seriously, this is just such a clever idea, and I love it!
