These Disney Stethoscope Covers are Perfect for Any Disney Addict Nurse

It’s no secret that nurses are heroes to me, their love, dedication, and caring is truly inspiring. When ever I see adorable nursing accessories, especially Disney ones, I’m reminded of some of the people in my life I look up to most. I might have awed, and squealed a little when I saw these incredibly Disney Stethoscope Covers by DDSewHappyScrubs on Etsy!

Since becoming a mom, I’ve always loved when I see nurses wearing fun scrubs with characters, cute badge scrolls, and colorful lanyards. I haven’t seen a lot of stethoscope covers, but I’m always delighted when I see them! Stethoscope covers are also welcoming to nervous patients by giving them something to look at, and adding an element of fun. The designers also says that they add comfort when wearing around your neck, and nurses can use any extra comfort they can get on those long shifts!  The covers are easy to take on and off stethoscopes by sliding over the elastic and easily securing with a Velcro fastening on top.

They have quite a few to choose from, but I picked out a some of my favorites to share with everyone.

Who doesn’t love sinking their teeth into a juicy slice of Watermelon on a hot summer day? Disneyland has dished out fun snacks all summer, and now California Adventure park has put its own twist on the flavors from this classic summer snack, releasing a Watermelon Cherry Cotton Candy!

The fluffy pink and green pieces of cotton candy combine to remind guests of a fresh slice of summer watermelon. This sweet treat can be found in Disney’s California Adventure Park on Buena Vista Street, near the Carthay Circle Restaurant. Grab yourself one while you can, there’s no telling how long the tasty treat will be available!

UberX Is Now Officially Picking Up Passengers From Orlando Airport

Two weeks ago I shared news that a new law had been passed that would allow ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft to pick up passengers from the Orlando International Airport. That new law went into effect this weekend and included a $5.80 airport fee. This fee is part of the fare ride-sharing passengers must pay for the service.

Before this law, only taxis and Uber’s Premium Services (Uber SELECT and Uber SELECTXL) could pick up passengers at the airport. UberX drivers could only drop off passengers.

Even adding in the additional airport fee, Uber will still be about half the cost of other transportation options to get to major Orlando destinations. Take a look at some the example prices below. These numbers do include the $5.80 airport fee.

Disney does provide complimentary transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport for its on-site resort guests through the Magical Express service. Uber will still be a great option for Disney guests wanting a more direct option or for guests staying off property.

Captain’s Grille Has Re-Located and is Open for Business

As we reported earlier this Summer, the Captain’s Grille table service restaurant at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club is currently closed for a lengthy refurbishment.  Not slated to open until later this Fall, the restaurant has been relocated over to Ariel’s restaurant at it’s sister resort the Beach Club.

Visitors to the original Yacht Club location will find that the restaurant has been partitioned off completely while work is carried out.

Captains Grille

The signage directs visitors to the new Beach Club location.  Ariel’s, which sits just next to Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club,  has typically been used in the past as a venue for weddings and private functions.  Though the original signage remains you can see it ready to welcome visitors as the makeshift Captain’s Grille.

Dinner is served from this new location from 5pm – 9pm nightly and on offer is a nice assortment of options including Crab Cakes, Prime Rib and Spare Ribs.

The children’s menu keeps with the nautical theme of the Yacht Club and includes fun activities brought to you by Jack Sparrow and friends.

Disney has not released official word as of yet as to when Captain’s Grille will return to its original location.  However, there is a rendering of the changes that can be expected hanging on the wall at its original location.  Here’s a sneak peek of  what diners can expect when Captain’s Grille re-opens later this year!

Mobile Ordering Broadens Its Reach at Walt Disney World

With the official opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, six weeks ago, Disney also unveiled a new bit of technology that was welcomed by Disney foodies- the ability to order your quick service meals from your mobile phones.  Guests no longer have to brave the lines of hungry tourists and can instead use their My Disney Experience App to pre-pay for a meal, let the restaurant know when you’re ready to pick it up and when you arrive at your eatery of choice your order will be waiting for you at the pick-up window.

Disney World’s new Mobile Order option, was tested at Disney’s Satu’li Canteen earlier this Summer and is already winning over visitors.  So much so that Disney has already added three additional Animal Kingdom eateries to the mix: Restaurantosaurus, Pizzafari and Flame Tree Barbecue.   These locations are just the first in a phased roll-out that should see the Mobile Order options extended to the following locations across all four theme parks and Disney Springs:

  • Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House, Pinocchio Village Haus, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Tortuga Tavern, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant.
  • Epcot: Liberty Inn and Electric Umbrella
  • Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary and Backlot Express
  • Animal Kingdom –  Satu’li Canteen, Flame Tree Barbecue, Restaurantosaurus and Pizzafari
  • Disney Springs: D-Luxe Burger

Visitor should note that the Mobile Order option is not currently available for guests with special dietary restrictions, guests wanting to pay in cash or those on the Disney Dining Plan.

All Four Disney Ships Receive Perfect Scores on CDC Sanitation Report

For the first time, all four Disney Cruise Line ships received prefects scores of 100 on The Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP). The VSP is a program ran by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) in an effort to assist the ship industry to “prevent and control the control the introduction, transmission, and spread of gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses on cruise ships. ”

During biannually and unannounced inspections, inspectors inspect these eight major areas on ships:

  • Medical facilities
  • Potable water systems
  • Swimming pools and whirlpools spas
  • Galleys and dining rooms
  • Child activity enters
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Ventilation systems
  • Common areas

Within these eight areas, inspectors are looking at everything from ensuring the proper filtration and disinfection procedures are being used in the swimming pools and whirlpools while all ventilation systems are checked for proper maintenance and cleanings. Epcot's Taste Track Offers Specialty Summer Sundaes

Summer brings thoughts of warm sunny days.  Nothing evokes the idea of a refreshing treat, on a hot summer day, more than ice cream.  Epcot’s Taste Track options will take you on a magical journey with their Specialty Summer Sundae offerings.

Taste Track may not look like much, but as soon as they open, a line forms at this location.  I was sitting off to the side waiting for this venue to open and there was nobody around.  I saw a few people passing by heading towards MouseGear, and a few walking in the other direction towards Test Track.  When they opened, I gathered my backpack, stood up, and there was this line!  I honestly have absolutely no idea where the people came from.

The most requested items at Taste Track, during my visit, were the Strawberry Explosion Sundae, The Hot Fudge Sundae, and the Chocolaty Churro Sundae.  They all look amazing don’t they?

I decided to try the Strawberry Explosion Sundae.  This delicious Sundae features Vanilla Ice Cream, Berries, Pound Cake, Strawberry Sauce, Whipped Cream, Strawberry Pearls, and is topped with a fresh Strawberry and a bit of Blue Cotton Candy. The combination of flavors is really good.  I was skeptical of the Strawberry Pearls, but they were tasty and added a bit of crunch to an already awesome Sundae.

During my visit, the most popular item appeared to be the Chocolaty Churro Sundae.  Can you blame them?  I mean Vanilla Ice Cream, Churros and Chocolate?  You cannot go wrong with a combination like this!

Cast Members Andreas and Jasmine were working that day.  They were so much fun to interact with.  Jasmine prepared my Strawberry Explosion Sundae for me.

There is a 3rd Specialty Sundae; the Apple Pie Sundae.  While I am sure people are ordering this in general, not one person ordered this option while I was there.  Apple Pie just makes me think of Autumn, although I am certain this particular offering must be very good.  I may just have to try it next time.

Taste Track is certainly on the right track this summer for offering some wonderful Specialty Summer Sundaes.  Many folks were upset that the grilled cheese and tomato soup are no longer offered at this location.  While we may see this option back in the Fall, for now we are very happy with ice cream for summer!

Tokyo Disneyland Is Serving Up Toy Story's Alien Desserts

Have you heard about these adorable mochi dumpling desserts at Tokyo Disneyland? Toy Story’s Aliens are now being served at both Tokyo Disney Sea and Tokyo Disneyland. The official name for these custard filled desserts are “Little Green Dumplings” but they have also been referred to as Alien Dumplings and Toy Story Alien Mochi.

Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice. The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape. Each order has 3 dumplings and includes filling flavors of chocolate, custard cream, and strawberry. Little Green Dumplings can also be purchased in a cute souvenir alien snack case.

When it comes to early morning dining at Disneyland there is no shortage of fantastic eateries.  From grabbing a Starbucks latte at the Market House on Main Street USA to tucking into some Mickey Waffles at Plaza Inn guests are absolutely spoiled for choice.   But there’s one breakfast dish in particular that caught our attention earlier this week thanks to a tweet sent out by Disneyland Today.

Behold, the delectable French Toast Sticks on offer over at Tomorrowland’s Galactic Grill!

 

The Galactic Grill has long been a favorite for Disney families looking to fuel up for the day ahead. Families can order at the Quick Service window, grab their goodies and head to the nearby tables to enjoy a delicious breakfast Disney-style before heading out for a fun-filled day at the park.

The French Toast will set visitors back $7.99. Other breakfast options available at Galactic Grill include breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches with “the works” and breakfast sliders for the kids.  There’s also an assortment of hot and cold beverages.

June did not only bring us a new season but also some delicious new food and dining options to Walt Disney World. Let’s take a closer look at all the new options that became available in June!

There’s a new breakfast item at Westward Ho! in Frontierland, sure to keep your little doggies movin’ along! The breakfast sandwich features bacon, egg, cheddar and pepper jack cheese top a delicious multigrain croissant.

The Jalapeño-Cheddar Pretzel has landed at The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland! It won’t be around forever, so be sure to get one before it returns to orbit.

You don’t have to choose between a hotdog or hamburger with June’s specialty hotdog at Casey’s Corner at the end of Main Street U.S.A. The Cheeseburger Hotdog features an all-beef hotdog topped with ground beef caramelized onions, bacon and cheese sauce.

Looking for a royal feast perfect for satisfying your need for a snack? Be sure to try the new Pretzel Royale at Prince Eric’s Village Market – you’ll find it’s the perfect size for sharing!

Reservations are now available for Minnie’s Halloween Dine at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’re sure to have a scary good time with this frightfully festive feast! Minnie’s Halloween Dine runs September 4, to November 5, 2017. Also, beginning September 4, Minnie’s Seasonal Dine will be available at both lunch and dinner! Rey Joins Cast of ‘Star Wars’ Show at Hollywood Studios

Rey from Star Wars will be joining the cast of “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” at Hollywood Studios. The show has been on a brief hiatus for the past few weeks and just reopened this week.

This show, presented several times daily in the park’s Center Stage area, brings to life iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with compelling film clips and appearances by favorite Star Wars characters from Darth Vader to Chewbacca.

“Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” celebrates our love of all things Star Wars with unforgettable memories from the entire galactic saga. Now, Rey has officially joined the lineup, appearing on stage alongside lovable Resistance droid BB-8 and clenching a lightsaber in her outstretched arm, just as she did at the conclusion of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

And that’s not all that’s new! The incomparable nighttime show “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” was also recently updated, incorporating sequences that put you right in the middle of thrilling moments from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

If you didn’t already know, Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World is THE place for everything Star Wars! Star Wars Land is expected to open at Hollywood Studios in 2019.

The Little Mermaid‘s “Part of Your World” was just released by Disney but with an unexpected twist. It was remixed live in 7 different musical styles including 80’s hip hop, country, metal, and reggae.

A YouTube musician with 141 million views under his belt, AJ Rafael lent his voice for the performance for an episode of The Oh My Disney Show, transforming Ariel’s iconic ballad into a version unlike any other a Disney fan has ever heard.
