First stop is picking up the Halloween at Disney Springs brochures that list out the 13 ways to celebrate. You can find them at the top of the escalators or at many registers of Disney Springs shopping locations.

You can find the perfect costume for your princess or super hero at World of Disney.

Of course you need a little face painting to finish the look!

Sprinkles has some yummy Halloween inspired cupcakes. Their Boo Box is available until the end of the month while their Pumpkin Cupcake with cream cheese icing is sticking around until the end of November.

After that of course you’ll need to stop at Starbucks for one of their Halloween specialty drinks. Who could say no to a Mummy Frappuccino or a Swamp Thing Tea?

Disney Springs is not short on tasty Fall treats. The Daily Poutine has an Octoberfest offering created with fries topped with cheddar curds, Beer Stout, bratwurst, and sauerkraut gravy. I think I might need some bigger Lederhosen!

Of course we saved room for the Aristocrepes Salted Caramel Bubble Waffle and a Poison Apple Slushy Mug.

Disney Springs has also put up a couple of fun photo ops to show off your spooky side.

Hear Their Side of the Story with the Disney Villains Book Series

Disney Villains Book Series

The Disney Villains have always been the baddest baddies, but how did they get so bad? Some even started out as villains but became heroes like the Beast. What made these poor unfortunate souls turn to the darkness? The Disney Villains Book Series by Serena Valentino explores what makes these characters tick.

There are four books in the series, and they all flow nicely into one another. The books star the Evil Queen, Beast, Ursula, and Maleficent. Although Beast turned out to be a good guy after all, we do know he shrouded himself in darkness and anger for quite awhile. The cover art for these books is just incredible too.

Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen: A Tale of the Wicked QueenHear Their Side of the Story with the Disney Villains Book Series

Why exactly is the wicked Queen so nasty, particularly to Snow White? Perhaps it has something to do with the creepy-looking man in the magic mirror who’s not just some random spooky visage…

Beast Within, The: A Tale of Beauty’s PrinceHear Their Side of the Story with the Disney Villains Book Series

A cursed prince sits alone in a secluded castle. Few have seen him, but those who claim they have say his hair is wild and nails are sharp–like a beast’s! But how did this prince, once jovial and beloved by the people, come to be a reclusive and bitter monster? And is it possible that he can ever find true love and break the curse that has been placed upon him?

Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale of the Sea WitchHear Their Side of the Story with the Disney Villains Book Series

The tale of the sea king’s daughter Ariel is a beloved one of losing-and then finding-one’s own voice. The story has been told many times and in many ways. But always the mergirl wants more than her world can offer, and her father demands that she live within the confines of his domain. Her rebelliousness costs the little mermaid her voice and nearly her soul. But the power of good prevails, and Ariel emerges proud and unchanged.

And yet this is only half the story. So what of Ariel’s nemesis, Ursula, the sea witch? What led to her becoming so twisted, scorned, and filled with hatred? Many tales have tried to explain her motives. Here is one account of what might have shaped the sea witch into a detestable and poor unfortunate soul.

Mistress of All Evil: A Tale of the Dark FairyHear Their Side of the Story with the Disney Villains Book Series

The tale is told as if it’s happening once upon a dream: the lovely maiden meets her handsome prince in the woods. The story has been told many times and in many ways. But always the maiden finds out that she is a princess – a princess who has been cursed by a dark fairy to prick her finger on a spindle and fall into an eternal sleep. Though her three good fairies try to protect her, the princess succumbs to the curse. But the power of good endures, as her true love defeats the fire-breathing dragon and awakens the princess with true love’s first kiss. The two live happily ever after.

And yet this is only half the story. So what of the dark fairy, Maleficent? Why does she curse the innocent princess? What led to her becoming so filled with malice, anger, and hatred? Many tales have tried to explain her motives. Here is one account, pulled down from the many passed down through the ages. It is a tale of love and betrayal, of magic and reveries. It is a tale of the mistress of all evil.

These young adult novels are really a fantastic read. Serena Valentino weaves wicked tales that tell the other sides of the stories.

Would you curls up with a cup of hot cocoa and the Disney Villains Book Series for a reading adventure this fall?

Take a Ride This Awesome Aladdin Magic Carpet Towel

Aladdin Magic Carpet Towel

It may sound silly, but one of my favorite characters from Aladdin was Carpet, I loved the way Disney added a personality to the Magic Carpet. Not only is this amazing Aladdin Magic Carpet Towel a fun replica to use at the park or beach, but it would be great for redecorating a bathroom!

Take a Ride This Awesome Aladdin Magic Carpet Towel

You’ll be in a whole new world with this Magic Carpet towel inspired by Disney’s Aladdin! You can pretend like you’re visiting Agrabah the next time you hit the beach, water park, or pool while lounging on this towel. It would also make a great prop for an Aladdin or Jasmine Halloween costume, or even to decorate an Aladdin inspired room. You can even get it with, or without the tassels! The towel is made from a microsuede so it’s very soft, very high quality, absorbent, and quick drying! It doesn’t collect sand or dirt, so it’s ideal for taking to the beach, camping, and traveling.

Would you decorate with or use this incredible Aladdin Magic Carpet Towel?

New Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party MagicBand Spotted

Halloween Party MagicBand

There’s been an exciting, and surprising debut for MagicBand fans at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. According to magicbandcollectors.com a second limited edition Halloween Party MagicBand has been released!

The new band has a  limited edition of 2500, and has a sleek black color. The theme for this one is totally all about the candy corn and features Chip and Dale. When I first saw this new band I was hoping it would smell like candy corn, since the original band was scented with a chocolate scent, but it has no special scent. The cost for this new band is a bit higher than the first party band at $39.99. The Chip and Dale band hasn’t replaced the original, so if you were hoping to get that one you’re still in luck.

What do you think of the second Halloween Party MagicBand now available?

Take a Look Behind the Curtain of Disney’s Cruise Line’s Broadway-style Productions

Disney Cruise Line

With “Beauty and the Beast about ready to make its debut performance aboard the Disney Dream in November, Disney Cruise Line is inviting us behind the curtain to see all that goes into one of their elaborate Broadway-style productions. As you will learn, it takes lots pixie dust and creative minds to bring these productions to life on the high seas.

From “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” to “Tangled: The Musical” and now “Beauty and the Beast,” Disney Cruise Line brings some of Disney’s most beloved stories to life in the grand Walt Disney Theatre. Disney’s creative team transforms renowned songs into spectacular, show-stopping numbers, and lavish costumes and puppetry bring a fresh perspective to characters you know and love.

Disney Cruise Line

The process of bringing the magic to the stage starts up to two years before a show premieres. Disney Cruise Line Entertainment begins by brainstorming and deciding on a concept. Once that concept is nailed down they develop the treatment, which is essentially a blueprint for the production. Then comes the time to assemble the show’s creative team, full of acclaimed and award-winning artists including a director, writer, composer, and choreographer.

Over the course of many months, this team is joined by talented artists and designers who specialize in costuming, puppetry, scenery, projections, and lighting. From the gleaming, floating lanterns in “Tangled” to the provincial French town in “Beauty and the Beast,” no detail is overlooked.

Workshops are then conducted to test and adjust the show. These workshops allow the creative team to solidify the show and make sure all of the artistic elements are seamlessly combined and ready to entertain guests for years to come.

Disney Cruise Line

Leading up to the musical’s premiere on the Walt Disney Theatre stage, physical elements of the show are constructed, including elaborate scenery, larger-than-life props, and stunning costumes. Not even Cinderella’s mouse friends could keep up with the work of the costuming team. A single production may include 500 garments, 250 pairs of shoes and 50 wigs.

As mentioned, “Beauty and the Beast” begins much-anticipated performances aboard the Disney Dream in November.  I can’t wait!

I would love to start planning your next visit for you and your dog to Disney World! Star Wars: Force For Change and Starlight Children’s Foundation Give Star Wars Hospital Gowns To Pediatric Patients

(PRNewsfoto/Starlight Children’s Foundation)

Star Wars: Force for Change has joined forces with Starlight Children’s Foundation to deliver more than 65,000 new Star Wars-themed Starlight Brave Gowns to kids at hospitals and healthcare facilities across the US. The new gowns bring joy and comfort to children and replace traditional children’s hospital gowns with high-quality, comfortable and brightly colored ones. The best part is  that they depict pediatric patients’ favorite Star Wars characters!

The new line of Starlight Brave Gowns are part of the collaboration between Starlight, Star Wars: Force for Change, Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company which was announced in April 2017. Through a generous $1 million grant from Star Wars: Force for Change and Disney, this collaboration supports Starlight’s core programs including Starlight Brave Gowns and the launch of Starlight Virtual Reality in 2018 as the program’s Founding Sponsor. Additional funding for the gowns was provided by individual donations raised from Star Wars fans who participated in the Star Wars: Force for Change fundraising campaign this past spring.

“We hope that these gowns will allow kids in hospitals to draw a bit of strength from the Force,” says Lynwen Brennan, General Manager at Lucasfilm. “We are so grateful that Starlight and our generous fans have helped make it possible to pull off such an amazing effort through Force for Change.”

The deliveries officially kicked off with a special event at CHOC Children’s Hospital on October 5. In celebration of the new Starlight Brave Gowns featuring the iconic characters of Darth Vader, Chewbacca and R2-D2, there were room-to-room visits with Star Wars characters as well as fun activities such as Force training for young Jedi, an interactive reading corner in celebration of “Star Wars Reads” month, gift giveaways and arts and crafts.

“We’re excited to see the smiles on thousands of hospitalized kids’ faces as they experience the joy and comfort that these new Star Wars-themed Starlight Brave Gowns will bring them,” said Chris Helfrich, CEO of Starlight Children’s Foundation. “We are honored to have the support of Star Wars: Force for Change to help transform these sick kids into their favorite Star Wars character.”

The Walt Disney Company, Lucasfilm’s parent organization, is a longtime supporter of children’s hospitals and of Starlight Children’s Foundation. Visit starlight.org to learn more about Starlight Brave Gowns and donate $25 to give a gown to a hospitalized child in need today.
