Everything to Know About the 2018 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

Everything to Know About the 2018 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

We’ve received lots of questions recently about the 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. So, we decided to share with our fans the information we know so far.

Back again at the annual festival will be some of it’s most popular attractions. Everything from outdoor kitchens, how-to demonstrations, and of course the breathtaking gardens and topiaries will all be back for 2018.

Let’s take a closer look at will be in store for next year’s festival-goers:

Outdoor Kitchens

Sample a wide variety of tasty dishes, desserts and specialty sips at 13 enticing stations sprinkled throughout World Showcase.

Garden Rocks – Concert Series

Gather with friends and family to rekindle your love of classic hits—all while taking in the waterfront view from a spacious outdoor venue. These events are only offered on the weekends.

Flower and Garden Maps

Topiary Displays, Gardens, and Exhibits

Stroll through a creative collection of gardens and gaze upon an incredible array of living sculptures shaped as beloved Disney characters.

Dig deeper into the magic of nature by signing up for a guided tour—pick from Gardens of the World, English Tea Garden and Behind the Seeds.

Fun for Kids

Connect with nature, as you and your family wander through a wide variety of play areas, gardens and exhibits geared especially for children.

Now you are probably wondering, “When will the festival begin.” While official dates have not been released yet, we anticipate next year’s festival to begin on or around March 1, 2018. That is right when the festival has begun the past several years. However, if this year’s Food & Wine Festival is any indication, we may see an earlier start date for the 2018 Flower & Garden Festival. Memorial Day is historically the last day the festival is held. We will definitely let you know as soon as we hear the official dates from Disney.

It may be hot right now but winter will be here before you know it. No better way to escape the cold of the winter than a trip to the 2018 Flower & Garden Festival. There are more than 100 Orlando area restaurants participating this year and best of all, 17 of them are at Walt Disney World! This is the first time in the program’s 12 years that they are able to help two organizations. Just ask your server for the “Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month” menu to enjoy a fantastic meal and help two amazing Florida based charities.

The program takes place every night from August 25 through October 1, 2017 during the restaurant’s normal dinner hours. The restaurant features a 3-course prix fixe dinner at an amazing price of $35 per person (tax and gratuity not included). One dollar from each meal sold will benefit Freedom Ride and BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Below are the Disney World dining locations participating in this year’s Magical Dining Month. Clicking on the restaurant name will bring up their menu for the event.

Warning I May Spontaneously Burst Into Disney Songs Travel Mug

Disney Songs Travel Mug

Disney Songs are totally my jam, and I may burst into song at ANY moment. So it’s no surprise that this I May Spontaneously Burst into Disney Songs Travel Mug, speaks to my heart!

As a gal who loves her coffee, and is always on the go, travel mugs are almost like an accessory for me. Of course fun designs and beautiful colors are a must for me, and adding Disney to the mix makes it even better. This mug reads “WARNING! I may spontaneously burst into Disney songs at any moment”. It’s really quite a fact about me, I’ve been known to start humming “Belle” in the middle of a meeting.

This perfectly perfect travel mug is made with high quality double walled stainless steel and a spill proof lid. The design is permanently printed into the surface of the mug, and will not fade, scratch or wear off. For those of us with a Kuerig machine, rest assured it will fit under it. The mug also comes with personalization if you would like, and comes in a regular ceramic coffee mug if you aren’t one to take your coffee on the run. You can get your own Disney songs mug here!

Does the I May Spontaneously Burst into Disney Songs Travel Mug speak to your heart too?

Update to Petitions Created to “Keep the Redhead” on Pirates of the Caribbean Attractions

Save the Reddhead

Several online petitions popped up in the last week urging Disney to keep the redheaded wench auction scene in the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean rides. Last week, Disney announced that this scene would be removed from all of the Pirates rides at parks around the globe as early as 2018.

When this decision was originally announced by Disney, much backlash was received by fans of the ride. Some of these fans took to online petition sites to keep the fate of their favorite Disney attraction intact.

Chip & Co fan, James DeMoy, created the petition entitled “We Wants to Keep the Redhead.” Currently this petition is approaching 26,000 signatures and counting. To sign the petition, CLICK HERE.

Now we will all just have to wait and see if Disney changes their mind about altering the ride or even if they will release a public statement addressing these petitions.

What are your thoughts on this scene being removed from the popular ride? Have you signed a petition to keep it?

Let’s start planning your next ride on Pirates of the Caribbean… with or without the wench auct! CLICK HERE or send an email for a FREE, no obligation quote with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

The ‘Characters in Flight’ Balloon at Disney Springs Renamed

Aerophile Disney Springs

Today we have learned the popular Characters in Flight attraction at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World will be changing it’s name. The new name will be “Aerophile – The World Leader in Balloon Flight.” Aerophile is the name of the French company that manufactured and operates the Disney Springs attraction.

A name change was imminent after the balloon was repainted earlier this year removing the characters from it’s design.

The official name change is reflected on the Disney World website along with Disney Springs maps.

What do you think about this name change? Do you ever ride the attraction when you are visiting Disney Springs?

Let’s start planning your visit to Walt Disney World so you can ride the renamed “Aerophile!” CLICK HERE or send an email for a FREE, no obligation quote with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

Magic Kingdom’s First Aid Location Will Begin Refurbishment July 11

Magic Kingdom's First Aid Location Will Begin Refurbishment July 11

Magic Kingdom’s First Aid Station, located between Casey’s Corner and Crystal Palace, will undergo refurbishment beginning July 11. The work is expected to be completed by August 17. During this time the First Aid area will be relocated to Tomorrowland, adjacent to Space Mountain. The temporary location will be reflected in updated Park Guide maps, Times Guide and on your My Disney Experience App.

The Baby Care Center will not be impacted by the refurbishment. The Wish Lounge, an area for families visiting as a part of the Make A Wish Program, will temporarily relocate to the exit lobby at Hall of Presidents.

First Aid Stations are located at each of the four parks as well as at both water parks. Nurses are available during normal park operating hours to offer over-the-counter medications, bandages and other quick remedies so that you can begin enjoying your vacation again.
