We’ve all seen the online videos of elaborately dressed children meeting their favorite Disney characters at the parks in matching outfits. They are incredibly adorable but you know that their mom either spent a million hours hunched over a sewing machine or a million dollars paying someone else to be hunched over a sewing machine. Lori Blumenstock, creator of Your Fairy Godmother, gave some background on her inspiration for the company. “While searching for costumes to wear, everything I was drawn to for my daughter cost hundreds of dollars. There was one dress in particular that I fell in love with, but with a price tag of over $300, I couldn’t imagine paying so much for a children’s costume that she would likely only wear one time.”

Rental prices start at $30. A few of the costumes for little girls include Belle, Cinderella, Anna, Mary Poppins, and Elsa. The boys aren’t left out and can choose from The Beast, Bert, Kristoff, Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, and Prince Charming.

Disneyland Engineers Celebrate the Return of the Much-loved Disneyland Railroad

After a lengthy refurbishment, the Disneyland Railroad is back in business and ready to whisk riders around Disneyland theme park. Disney fans both young and old have been anxiously awaiting the return of this iconic attraction and to experience firsthand the new updates along Rivers of America and the waterfront.

There are also a few Disney Cast Members who have cause to celebrate – the engineers who care for these historic steam engines. Their work is pivotal in keeping Walt’s vision and his love of trains alive and well at Disneyland today. According to Robert Rodriguez, one of the engineers, “Any way we as a cast can inspire the guests to have a passion for these trains like Walt did is fantastic.”

Both Robert and fellow Cast Member Craig Ludwick have been working hard the past few months to prepare the Disneyland Railroad to return to it’s 365 day a year operating schedule. Both are pleased that it is back and better than ever with recent additions that include a new trestle bridge that extends out along the Rivers of America. Craig had this to say about the updated experience, “Once our guests see those new waterfalls, lighting and the amazing stone work … you’re going to hear people say, ‘Oh, wow! Look at that!’”

According to Craig, other highlights of the refurbishments include new breathtaking views of Walt Disney’s Dioramas of the Grand Canyon and the Primeval World which have been carefully restored.

Artist Point located at Wilderness Lodge is one of Disney’s Signature Dining locations. Today is a big day for DuckTales fans! Almost a 30 years after it made its debut in September 1987, Disney’s reboot premieres today. The cast of DuckTales gathered to talk about the exciting reboot of one of Disney’s most beloved series – from a life-size recreation of Scrooge McDuck’s gold coin-filled money pit.

LucasFilm and Marvel Movies, Programming May Remain on Netflix

As we previously reported, Disney announced that they will be pulling all of their material from Netflix and starting their own streaming service. Not much more information has been released but reports state that Netflix and Disney are in discussion to leave LucasFilm and Marvel movies on the popular streaming service. This would mean that while the upcoming Frozen 2 and Toy Story 4 movies would not be available on Netflix, Star Wars and Marvel films would remain.

When Disney announced this week that they would be removing their material, Netflix stocks dropped five percent in a two-day period. They have rebounded slightly since but an agreement to keep the rights to LucasFilm and Marvel would help them significantly.

Other reports have stated that the original Marvel content such as The Defenders and Jessica Jones will remain on Netflix. While, original Disney programming from Disney Jr., Disney XD, and the Disney Channel will solely be on the new Disney streaming service.

Disney’s new streaming service is not supposed to be up and running until 2019. We can expect that Disney content will remain on Netflix until about this time.

‘Frozen the Broadway Musical’ Tickets Go on Sale Monday

Frozen the Broadway Musical is scheduled to make it’s Broadway debut at The St. James Theatre on February 22, 2018 with an official opening about a month later. Tickets for the much-anticipated show will begin to go on sale this Monday, August 14. A pre-sale is currently underway.

You can purchase your tickets by visiting FrozenTheMusical.com. Tickets will go on sale at The St. James Theatre Box Office on Monday, November 14.

In an effort to combat fraud, Disney will use certified re-sellers like the Ticketmaster resale market. Ticketmaster’s mobile delivery entry service technology will also be in use in place instead of a print-at-home option.

Good news Minnie Ears fans! The highly anticipated Customizable Minnie Mouse Ears have finally arrived! Disney style fans everywhere where excited to see the debut of these Minnie Ears at D23, and now they are starting to show up!

The Disney Springs twitter posted yesterday about new apparel items available at the D-Living store. Much to my happiness, the interchangeable bow ears were one of the new items featured in the post! The new ears were pictured with 5 of the new interchangeable bows. These new bows will allow you to show off your royal or villainous side, and change it up when ever you like. There is supposed to be new bows releasing in the coming months as well, that were not previewed at the D23 expo, so I’m sure we have some exciting surprises ahead! I’m hoping with this new release, we’ll be seeing them on the Shop Disney Parks App soon too!
