REVIEW: Dole Whip Topped Pineapple Upside Down Cake at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom

REVIEW: Dole Whip Topped Pineapple Upside Down Cake at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom

Just when you thought the Dole Whip soft serve ice cream was the height of perfection, Aloha Isle raised the bar with the addition of the Pineapple Upside Down Cake topped with Dole Whip. This popular refreshment destination, Aloha Isle inside Magic Kingdom, actually added the Pineapple Upside Down Cake a couple of months ago. Though we were a little slow to introduce ourselves to this refreshing snack, once we met it was definitely love at first bite!

REVIEW: Dole Whip Topped Pineapple Upside Down Cake at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom

This tasty treat features a mini-pineapple upside down cake topped (or should I say heaped) with the amazing Pineapple Dole Whip ice cream Disney Addicts love. The cake is moist, definitely sweet and topped with bite-size chunks of pineapple.

Of course, no pineapple upside-down cake is complete without the addition of a few Maraschino cherries which we found hiding under the Dole Whip ice cream.

REVIEW: Dole Whip Topped Pineapple Upside Down Cake at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom

Wondering whether this refreshing treat is big enough to share? As my friends in the south like to say, there was “gracious-plenty” of this tasty snack. Our three spoons attacked our bowl like we had not eaten in days and we still had a bite or two left after our sweet tooths were fully satisfied.

Figment’s Brush with the Masters 2018 Scavenger Hunt

Figment's Brush with the Masters 2018 Scavenger Hunt

Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts event is just around the corner, and there’s so many exciting things to look forward to! With each festival it seems Epcot is really enjoying the themed scavenger hunts, and this year’s Festival of the Arts is no exception. The Figment’s Brush with the Masters 2018 Scavenger Hunt is confirmed, and we can’t wait!

Figment needs help, so grab a friend, or group, or even make it a solo mission, and get ready to hunt! You’ll help Figment learn about art on this scavenger hunt around World Showcase. To get started, purchase your map and stickers at Pin Central, Disney Traders, or World Traveler. Then, search for Figment hiding inside famous works of art at each World Showcase pavilion—just look for the Figment-themed picture frame. Every time you find Figment, add the corresponding sticker to the pavilion on your map. Once your journey is complete, return your map to Disney Traders for an artful surprise! The cost of this activity is $8.99 this year, and the surprise has not yet been revealed. Last year the prize at the end was a magnet, I’ve got my fingers crossed for pins this year!

You can join in the fun, and join Figment’s Brush with the Masters 2018 Scavenger Hunt at Epcot during the International Festival of the Arts event that starts Friday January 12th!

Artist Will Gay will be one of the featured artists at this year’s festival. Once a month, Will heads into a Disney theme park to draw, sketch or paint a unique piece of artwork on the spot. Disney recently followed along as he headed out to the Japan Pavilion at Epcot for an early morning oils painting.

If you’ve got kids or tweens in love with Descendants or Descendants 2, get ready for their new obsession when Zombie mania hits on February 16th. In the same vein as the Descendents films, this music- and dance-filled story takes viewers to Seabrook High School.  Seabrook is your standard suburban town preoccupied with uniformity, traditions and school spirt.  That is until they receive a transfer students from Zombietown.  As the zombies are integrated into the new school one of the Seabrook’s most popular cheerleaders and a Zombie football star, Addison and Zed, fall in love.  Sending the town into a tailspin, the couple teaches their community a thing or two about acceptance.

Check out the trailer recently released by Disney:

The film stars Meg Donnelly (from ABC’s “American Housewife”) as Addison and Milo Manheim (“Ghost Whisperer”) as Zed.  The film also stars Trever Tordjman as Addison’s cousin and head cheerleader and Kylee Russell as Zed’s zombie best friend.

Four-year old Boy’s Touching Tribute to Sister from Disney Pixar’s Coco

Boy Sings Coco Song for Sister

In Disney Pixar’s “Coco” aspiring musician, Miguel, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.

The song, “Remember Me,” from the movie is sure to tug on your heartstrings, but hearing this sweet little 4-year old boy sing it to his little sister, who passed away in May, may have you reaching for a box of tissues.

The Deais family, parents Samir and Stephanie and son Alex, lost their daughter and sister, Ava Lyn, after a hydronephrosis diagnosis – which is a kidney condition – in May of 2017. According to Samir watching the film, “Coco”, has helped Alex deal with his sister’s death.

In this touching video Alex is singing to his sister for her first birthday.  The lyrics he’s singing are:

Remember me / Though I have to travel far / Remember me / Don’t let it make you cry / For even if I’m far away I hold you in my heart / I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart / Though I have to travel far / Remember me

The video has gone viral and, at this point, has had over 1.85M views. The family has said they are floored and brought to tears by the outpouring of support the video has received.
