Actress Claire Danes took a break from her busy acting schedule to hang out with Goofy and pals at the Magic Kingdom this Wednesday. It looks like she took a spin on my son’s favorite ride, The Barnstormer!

Danes is best known for her role in the popular series, Homeland, and has won two Emmys and two Golden Globes from her portrayal of Carrie Mathison on the show. She has also won other Emmys and Golden Globes for her acting in Temple Grandin and her breakout role as Angela Chase in My So Called Life.

In addition to her TV accolades, she has also preformed in various movies such as Little Women, Romeo + Juliette, and The Family Stone.

Mobile Order Feature Now Includes 15 Restaurants On My Disney Experience App

My Disney Experience has become an invaluable tool that provides guests an easier way to plan and enjoy their Disney World vacation. The Mobile Order allows guests to purchase quick-service meals on-demand, saving valuable park hopping time. And, it’s not the only new feature of My Disney Experience, which is making vacation personalization easier than ever. Online Mobile Check In at Disney Resort hotels, online ticket purchasing, FastPass+, Disney PhotoPass and more are all available at the touch of a button.

The roll out of the Mobile Order service has been received by park visitors with such success that it is now officially available at 15 different locations throughout Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. It allows guests to order on demand at quick-service restaurants, pay in advance, and skip the line. That way time can be better spent enjoying the attractions and experiences throughout the resort.

To use Mobile Order, sign in to the My Disney Experience app and tap the “Order Food” button, which lists restaurants that offer the service. Browse restaurant menus, select items, customize your order and prepay, all right through the app. Then, when you arrive at the restaurant, just tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” in the app, which notifies the kitchen to prepare your meal. When it’s ready, a notification will alert you to pick up your meal from the “Mobile Order Pick Up” area in the restaurant. There is also a video at the end of this article that walks you through this process.

“Find the Force” An Augmented Reality Event Announced For “Force Friday II”

Two years ago a global phenomenon called Force Friday swept through Star Wars fans everywhere. Yesterday Disney and Lucasfilm announced Find the Force, a global augmented reality (AR) event rolling out on Force Friday II (September 1) to commemorate the worldwide launch of new products inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The pop-up AR treasure hunt aims to unite fans around the world in the battle against the dark side in a unique three-day event at over 20,000 retail locations across 30 countries. As fans turn up to take home new Star Wars: The Last Jedi products, they will have the opportunity to activate a unique augmented reality experience featuring Star Wars characters, including fan-favorites and new surprise additions from the film.

“Force Friday II is a major milestone in the countdown to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Star Wars has always championed new technology, and we are excited that augmented reality will allow fans to experience the universe in a whole new way,” says Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm.

From September 1-3, retailers around the world will invite fans to Find the Force by taking part in an AR treasure hunt. Here’s how it works: first, download the Star Wars App, which is your one-stop-shop for all things Star Wars (those who already have the app will need to download the latest version). Then, visit any one of 20,000 participating retail locations to find a graphic that contains the Find the Force logo. When you scan the graphic using the Star Wars App, you’ll reveal a character, who through augmented reality, will appear in the room with you. You can then take photos, record videos, and share the experience on social media. Come back each day to reveal new characters (15 in total across the program’s three-day run). The US Department of State has issued a travel warning for two popular Disney Cruise Line ports-of-call: Baja California Sur including Los Cabos and La Paz and Cancun.

It’s important to note that travel warnings for Mexico have been active for several years and this is more of an update from previous warnings issued in 2016.

Petition Formed to Leave Disney Programming on Netflix

Many Netflix subscribers were disappointed when Disney announced they would be pulling their original programming and movies from the popular streaming service. Several were disappointed that they would have to subscribe to another streaming service in addition to their beloved Netflix. The petition addresses the fact that many have “cut the cord” to cable to save money and having to subscribe to various streaming services is starting to defeat the purposes of opting out of cable.

Some fans decided to take their disappointment to the masses and create a petition to keep their favorite Disney shows and movies on Netflix. The creators of the petition are looking for 13,000 signatures. As I am going to publish this article, the total signatures already received is at 12,577. The Washington Post has called Disney out to address the petition.

Disney has just announced Force Friday II scheduled to take place at Disney World and Disneyland. During this event, new Star Wars themed merchandise and more will land in our galaxy on September 1 at 12:01 am.

The Force Friday II event is FREE and your opportunity to be among the first to purchase new Star Wars and Star Wars: The Last Jedi themed merchandise, including unique products found only at Disney Parks.

Here are the details for the event at each park:

Disneyland Resort – World of Disney Store, Downtown Disney District 
Pre-registration for the Force Friday II event is required for guests attending the event in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.

Registration will be accepted only on DisneyParksMerchandise.com beginning August 24 at 11:00 a.m. (Pacific) / 2:00 p.m. (Eastern).

Once registered, guests will receive additional instructions via email. Doors open at 12:01 a.m. on September 1.

Walt Disney World Resort – World of Disney, Disney Springs 
For guests attending the event at Disney Springs, registration for Force Friday II will take place outside the World of Disney store entrance across from Basin on August 31 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Guests will be given a numbered wristband on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once a wristband is received, guests are invited to return to World of Disney by 11:30 p.m. where they will be lined up in sequential order. Doors open at 12:01 a.m. on September 1.

Please park in the Lime Parking Garage at Disney Springs for shopping convenience.

Set your hyperspace coordinates for this merchandise event in preparation of the highly anticipated film release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 16.

Disney recently announced plans to begin pulling their movies from Netflix and launch their own streaming service. With the new Disney streaming service reported to begin sometime in 2019, Disney is keeping with its distribution agreement with Netflix and will continue streaming new releases through the end of the year.

The next Disney release to Netflix, is a big one. Disney’s live-action Beatuy and the Beast will be available for streaming September 19th, 2017. This stunning remake of Disney’s animated Beauty and the Beast was released in theaters March 17th, 2017, and is the 10th highest-grossing film of all time.
