Mobile Ordering Launches at Another Animal Kingdom Restaurant

We are happy to announce Mobile Ordering launched at Harambe Market in Animal Kingdom today! This marks the 16th location on Disney World property that guests have the option to use mobile ordering.

The roll out of the Mobile Order service has been received by park visitors with much success. It allows guests to order on demand via their My Disney Experience app at quick-service restaurants, pay in advance, and skip the line. That way time can be better spent enjoying the attractions and experiences throughout the resort.

Currently the only form of payment accepted through the Mobile Order service are credit cards. Guests can look forward to additional payment options to be added soon. If you have concerns about dietary restrictions or wish to use discounts or utilize a Disney Disney Plan then you will need to place your order with a cashier.

Disney and ABC To Host “Day Of Giving” To Support Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort

Today The Walt Disney Company and its ABC owned station in Houston, KTRK, announced a $1 million pledge to the American Red Cross to assist those most impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

In addition, on Thursday, Disney|ABC Television Group will hold a “Day of Giving.” Starting in the morning with their ABC affiliates and Good Morning America, throughout the day on ABC, Freeform, Radio Disney and their Disney and ABC social media platforms, there will be a call-to-action to donate to the American Red Cross. They will be using the hashtag #DayOfGiving on social media.

“Our hearts go out to everyone in the devastating path of this historic storm,” said Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer, The Walt Disney Company. “It’s hard to fully appreciate the impact, in part because it isn’t over yet. But we know thousands of people have lost everything and now face the daunting challenge of putting their lives and communities back together, and we’re using our unique resources and reach to help those in need.”

Plus, eligible Disney employee donations to the American Red Cross and other qualified organizations involved in the Hurricane Harvey relief effort will be matched dollar for dollar by Disney Employee Matching Gifts: A Program of The Walt Disney Company Foundation.

World Showcase to Host New and Returning Acts as Part of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

If you’re heading to this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, no doubt you’ve heard about all of the amazing acts participating in this year’s Eat to the Beat Concert Series. But that’s not the only place you’ll find amazing musical talent at this year’s festival. Each year the World Showcase plays host to an dialectic mix of amazing acts that you won’t want to miss. Here’s just a taste at some of the additional entertainment options you’ll be able to enjoy during your Epcot visit.

Bodh’aktan – (pictured) A crowd favorite, Bodh’aktan mixes Quebecois, folk and polka to make fantastic rock and dance music. Back from a recent world tour, this much loved band will be performing daily at the Canada Pavilion from October 2 – 22nd.

Suroît – Another musical offering found at the Canada Pavilion, this renowned band is from Canada’s Magdalen Islands in Eastern Quebec. Their sound is a combination of Cajun, Celtic, bluegrass and rock. You’ll be able to catch them on the Mill Stage from August 31 – October 1st.

Margret Almer & The Bavarian Band – World-famous yodeler Margret Almer returns to Epcot this Fall with The Bavarian Band. You’ll be able to catch her at the Germany Pavilion beginning on August 31 and continuing throughout the Festival and then into the holiday season.

Musique Aramenco – Another returning act, Musique Aramenco will bring to the Morocco Pavilion its amazing fusion of traditional and modern Moroccan music from September 1st and running throughout the Festival and will continue performing into the beginning of December.

Raffy – Yet another fantastic musical act over at the Canadian Pavilion, Raffy will be performing from October 23 – November 26th on the Mill Stage. A band known for their infectious energy, they have just completed a Canadian tour including numerous radio and TV appearances.

So make sure you include a bit of free time in your Epcot plans to enjoy a few of the amazing musical acts you’ll find performing during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

Roaring Fork at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Gets a Makeover

The Roaring Fork is definitely a favorite for guests of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This quick service location has recently reopened after receiving a few updates and improvements. Located in the main building with patio seating near Copper Creek Springs pool area, it’s a convenient stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner, with spacious seating inside – or get your food to go and head outdoors as the weather cools.

Banana Foster’s French Toast and 10-hour Pulled Pork Cheese Grits with a poached egg are a couple of the new additions that guests can enjoy for breakfast. The popular Breakfast Flatbread returns, this one with sausage gravy, ham, eggs and Cheddar.

Also now available on the breakfast menu is specialty beverages like the Gold Rush Latte (vanilla latte with caramel). These drinks were previously served at the Territory Lounge but are now available at Roaring Fork.

Lunch and dinner selections are served from 11:00am to midnight each day. The new menu features Chef Michael Bersell’s Brisket Burger with cheddar, cranberry barbecue sauce, cast-iron onions and frisée served on a sweet brioche bun. Other lunch favorites include Grilled Chicken on Focaccia with roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella and Gourmet Grilled Cheese featuring cheddar, arugula, tomato and onion jam on multi-grain bread.

The popular Flatbreads are back at Roaring Fork and two new options have been added to the menu. Guests can choose between Fennel Sausage and Pepperoni with caramelized onion and goat cheese or an Asiago Grilled Chicken topped with peppers and onions.

Grab and go options like the popular Wilderness Salad with chicken, walnuts, apples and cheddar are still available in the grab ‘n go area or they can be made to order.

Walt Disney World Resorts Provide Complimentary Life Vests Poolside

Did you know that Walt Disney World provides complimentary life vests poolside at all of their Resorts? The life vests come in a variety of sizes for children and adults. If you or your little ones are not strong swimmers, be sure to grab one in your size as you enter the pool area.

The lifeguards at the Walt Disney World are second to none. They are diligently watching and keeping everybody safe.

The problem we witnessed was that children are left in the water without adult supervision! We get it; folks are on vacation. However, in two hours, we witnessed two rescues. One was a child who had gotten too far from the wall and was over their head. The parent was sitting in a lounge chair and did not realize that the lifeguard was using her long red flotation device to pull the 3 year old in closer to the wall. After the parent realized, she got into the water with her child to help him out. We kindly pointed out to the parent that life vests were just at the edge of the pool area and that they are complimentary. A few minutes later, the child was back in the water without the parent again, and not wearing a life vest. A little while later, the lifeguard whistles blew, a lifeguard jumped in, swam to the middle of the pool and brought a young girl up who was trying to float along on top of a beach ball. She had gotten stuck and could not get back to the edge of the pool on her own. The child was supervising a younger sibling, who was wearing a life vest. The parents were at the back side of the pool and never even knew what happened.

Disney takes water safety precautions very seriously. Some time ago, you had to check out a life vest for your length of stay, from the Arcades, when staying at a Value Resort. For quite some time now, the life vests have been prominently on display along the poolsides of each resort hotel. We stayed at the All Star Movies Resort and the Fantasia Pool had life vest racks at four separate locations around the pool.

Four Interconnected Themed Dining Locations Planned For Disney Springs

The Patina Restaurant Group, who operates multiple dining locations around The Walt Disney World Property, has posted job opportunities on its website for their upcoming dining location called “The Edison”. The description of these opportunities also hint at some surprises in store for the Patina Group’s dining complex located at Disney Springs.

The Patina group currently oversees Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs and Tutto Italia and Via Napoli in Epcot. Their next venture “The Edison” is scheduled to open at Disney Springs later this year. Two weeks ago it was also announced that another Patina group dining location called “Maria & Enzo’s” would be opening at Disney Springs later this year or early 2019. But now it looks like there might be even more dining venues in their future.

The Patina Restaurant Group has the following posted on their website:

Patina Restaurant Group will bring world-class cuisine to the Disney Springs outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment complex at the Walt Disney Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida near Orlando. Four new concepts that will be connected as part of one large complex and will be introduced to Disney Springs in the Fall of 2017. Each of the concepts is housed in key locations that play an integral role in the Disney Springs origin story, such as the former airline terminal, an underground rum running tunnel, and the former electrical power plant, providing rich territory for story-telling. The Edison – with an estimated opening of November 2017, is a lavish “Industrial Gothic” restaurant, bar, and nighttime destination with live entertainment. It presents cabaret, burlesque and music, craft cocktails, and classic American dishes. As it is an extension of our Downtown Los Angeles location, the concept continues as “where science meets industry” and the venue is rooted in creativity, imagination, and innovation. Patina is looking for experienced and dedicated leaders to join our team and lead this brand new adventure.

It appears that four interconnected dining concepts all located in one complex is on the Disney Springs horizon. We already know that “The Edison” is the former electrical power plant and “Maria & Enzo’s” is expected to feature a speakeasy bar element, which will be part of the underground rum running tunnel. What we don’t know yet is the “former airline terminal” or the fourth location with no description.

Such a creative undertaking is very intriguing and we can’t wait to learn more. Stay tuned to Chip and Company for more details as they are revealed!

Hakuna Matata everyone! I have exciting news. “The Lion King” will be released tomorrow as part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection. Fans will be able to experience this magnificent coming-of-age masterpiece on Blu-ray starting tomorrow, August 29th, 2017. I just received my early copy and I’m loving experiencing this Disney classic movie with my kiddos! Plus, the Lion King Signature Collection also includes amazing special features that have never been released before that only add to the experience.
