Hurricane Irma ripped through the Caribbean and Florida leaving billions and billions dollars worth of devastation and destruction in its aftermath. Some of the islands hit most hard are ports-of-call for Disney Cruises. Four of these ports-of-call have been closed indefinitely and may not reopen for weeks or even months.

The four ports are:

Key West
St. Marteen
St. Thomas
Tortola

Other Disney Cruise Line Caribbean ports either experienced no impact from the storm or just a little damage and remain open. Disney has adjusted the Disney Fantasy’s Eastern Caribbean sailings for September 23 and October 7 to now visit Western Caribbean ports. All other scheduled cruises will go on as planned with no adjustments to their itineraries.

This morning, Hollywood Studios debuted some amazing new displays at Walt Disney Presents (the re-imagined version of the One Man’s Dream attraction). Guests can now view elaborate depictions of Disney Parks past, present, and future!

Toy Story Land Models Now On Display At Hollywood Studios

One of the most exciting things on display is the brand new model of the Toy Story Land expansion happening at Hollywood Studios. It is being showcased for guests to view starting today.

Opening Summer of 2018, Toy Story Land will shrink guests to the size of a toy and explore all of the fun in Andy’s backyard. The pictures in this article show how detailed and creative the Imagineers have been developing the familiar toys and sights from the “Toy Story” films. The two new major attractions, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers, look amazing!

Toy Story Land Models Now On Display At Hollywood Studios

The Imagineers tell us that the Slinky Dog Dash attraction was themed as if Andy himself used his Mega Coaster Paly Kit to build the ultimate coaster for Slinky. The new attraction will be a coaster that the whole family can enjoy. The second attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers, will have Aliens flying around in their toy flying saucers and trying to capture guests’ rocket toy vehicles with “The Claw”. It was designed as toy play set that Andy brought home from Pizza Planet.

Walt Disney Presents doesn’t just have models for the future Toy Story Land to show off. It also has some amazing displays of Walt Disney’s history including his beginning sketches, photos and storyboards, the attraction celebrates milestones in Disney film and theme park history up through today and beyond.

Stay tuned as more models, maquettes, sketches, artist renderings, a portion of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge model, concept art for the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction will be on display soon too!

Last year, I had the chance to stop by Disney Springs during the holiday season. It was simply a truly magical experience. Between the decorations, Christmas trees, shopping, and eating, it was definitely a memorable day. It was also the perfect way to create new traditions with my family as there was something for everyone to do.

The secret is out. Disney Springs has the most complete collection of Disney-inspired products anywhere! Because of that, it’s where I’ll be starting my holiday shopping this year. From the awesome collections at the LEGO store or Star Wars Outpost, to the perfect plush toys at World of Disney – with over 50,000 items, it’s the world’s largest assortment of Disney merchandise. Family and friends will love one-of-a-kind gifts from Sugarboo & Co., and jewelry from PANDORA is always a hit. For the fashionistas in your life, UNIQLO and Francesca’s delight without breaking the bank. (And I think we can all agree that these fantastic finds are sure to have earned you a cupcake from Sprinkles, right?)

As we previously reported, the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is getting a temporary overhaul for Halloween Time at California Adventure. Once the sun goes down, the ride will magically turn into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark!

Here’s a little more about the temporary nighttime adventure on the Guardians ride:

While escaping The Collector’s Fortress, the Guardians have accidentally left Groot behind, so Rocket needs your help to find and rescue his little buddy. But along with the creatures that have been accidentally released inside The Collector’s Fortress, one terrifying monster you will encounter is Surtur’s Fire Dragon, seen in the artist’s rendering above from Walt Disney Imagineering. This terrifying monster will also appear in the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok” in theaters on November 3.

VIDEO: Ellen Wants Her Universe of Energy Robot Back!

Ellen was the star of the now-closed Universe of Energy attraction at Epcot. We all know that ride closed last month to pave the way for the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. When the ride was closed, Ellen’s dinosaur-fighting animatronic was removed. Well, Ellen is on a mission to get that animatronic!

She said on her show this week that she would love for the robot to host her show “when she ins’t feeling well and when she is feeling well.” She is hoping someone at Disney can track down her animatronic twin and get it back into her hands ASAP.

Disneyland Circle D Horses Participate In Annual Norco Labor Day Parade

The Circle D horses from the Disneyland Resort got to strut their stuff during the annual Labor Day parade in Norco, California. Although participating in the parade is nothing new for the Disneyland Resort horses, this year they set a new record for themselves. The Circle D team put together the largest group of horses and cast members ever to participate in a community parade.

The participating cast members included Disneyland Resort Ambassador Alexa Garcia and Circle D Ranch Manager Roy Hungerford. But the real stars of the show were Dallas, Chief, Bug and Finn! Watch the video below to see them in action.

Freeform Channel Announces Genre Lineup For Comic Con

As the network doubles down on genre programming, Freeform, Disney’s young adult television and streaming network, announced that it will be presenting an unprecedented three hours of genre programming panels and screenings with cast and executive producers from several original series including “Shadowhunters,” “Beyond” and new original drama “Siren” at New York Comic Con on Saturday, October 7.

Returning hit series “Shadowhunters” and “Beyond” will debut exclusive, never-before-seen action-packed footage from the upcoming new seasons during back-to-back panels featuring executive producers and cast starting at 12:00 p.m. at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. New original series “Siren” will present its first episode in its entirety to the crowd, followed by a Q&A with cast and executive producers starting at 4:00 p.m. in Room 1A06.

Fans will also get a chance to experience “Shadowhunters,” “Beyond” and “Siren, as well as the highly anticipated series, “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,” by visiting the Freeform activation zone located right across from the Javits Center. The Freeform activation center will be open October 5–8 and located at the corner of 11^th and 37^th street. Additional details will be announced at a later date.

What if there was something sinister swimming beneath the sea’s surface? In Freeform’s new original drama “Siren,” the coastal town of Bristol Cove, known for its legend of once being home to mermaids, is turned upside down when a mysterious girl (Eline Powell) appears and begins wreaking havoc upon the quaint village. Using their resources, marine biologists Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) must work together to find out who and what drove this mermaid out of her home, and are there more like her out there?

The panel will include the world premiere screening of the first episode, followed by a Q&A with cast members Eline Powell, Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun, and executive producers Emily Whitesell and Eric Wald. The panel will be moderated by TBD. Exclusive “Siren” NYCC poster designed by Marvel artists will be given out at the panel.

There's Even More to Celebrate This Holiday Season at Hollywood Studios!

We all know that Disney knows how to put you into the holiday spirit! Well, this year the holidays officially kick on November 9 at Hollywood Studios with a new nighttime experience, magical new decorations, the return of the fan-favorite from last year “Jingle Jam, Jingle BAM!“, and much more!

Our newest holiday nighttime experience – Sunset Seasons Greetings – will feature spectacular projections of Mickey, Minnie and other beloved Disney characters sharing their favorite Christmas stories as a snowy Sunset Boulevard twinkles with holiday decorations. Billboards will come to life and the famous Hollywood Tower Hotel will transform into a pile of Christmas gifts, a gingerbread house and a frozen winter wonderland throughout the night. A summer-loving snowman might even make an appearance.

This season, you’ll also notice enhanced holiday decor around Echo Lake at the park. Colorful garlands and a giant Christmas tree centered on the water will make Echo Lake the merriest of places this holiday season. Even its famous Dinosaur will be dressed for the occasion with a dino-Santa hat.

And the hit holiday show, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” is also returning and sending Disney animated characters on a spirited yuletide adventure to get Santa back to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve. As many of you know, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” combines state-of-the-art projections, fireworks, special effects and Christmas music to create a dazzling, one-of-a-kind holiday experience for guests – capped by a special message from Santa himself.

Santa Claus will return to the Once Upon a Time shop on November 9 through December 24 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well. Santa Goofy will step in after Old Saint Nick he returns to the North Pole December 25 – 31.

Details On The EPCOT International Festival Of The Holidays Event Starting November

Last week I brought you the news that EPCOT was changing up its Holiday plans. Previously known as “Holidays Around the World”, this year the event will be called “EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays”. But what does that mean for you? Don’t worry, the incredibly popular Candlelight Processional will be returning. Guests will also enjoy new Holiday Kitchens, entertainment additions and more!

The holiday highlight for most people is experiencing the Candlelight Processional. It features a retelling of the traditional Christmas story by a celebrity narrator and music from a 50-piece orchestra and mass choir. Some new narrators have been added to this year’s lineup, including Matt Bomer, CCH Pounder and Pat Sajak. Returning favorites Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg and Jaci Velasquez will also make an appearance. The Candlelight Processional is performed three times each evening, 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. at America Gardens Theatre from November 24 through December 30. Candlelight dinner packages can be reserved now by visiting Disneyworld.com/holiday.

Holiday entertainment can also be enjoyed around the World Showcase. Each pavilion will share their traditions through music and time-honored traditions. Mostly Kosher, a new act this year, will perform holiday classics celebrating Hanukkah in the America Pavilion. Returning favorites also include JOYFUL! A Gospel Celebration of the Season and Canadian Holiday Voyageurs.

15 Holiday Kitchens will be featured this year around EPCOT. They will be serving up yummy treats like holiday cookies and sweet seasonal treats. For example, the Odyssey will ready with snowflake sugar cookies and warm apple fritters with cinnamon ice cream. The Canada Pavilion will have their own treats like Maple Buche de Noel.

And as a special treat, you can finish your holiday visit at Epcot by watching “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” fireworks, which will feature a special holiday finale.
