When 2017 comes to an end, the party will just be starting at Tokyo Disney Resort. This January, you’re invited to a five-day celebration to ring in the Year of the Dog with Mickey, Minnie, and everyone’s favorite dog Pluto!

The festivities begin on your way into the celebration with plenty of Pluto-inspired decorations. To honor the Year of the Dog, the customary kadomatsu decoration at the entrance to World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland will feature Pluto and the entrance to Passaggio MiraCosta in Tokyo DisneySea will display banners.

Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and more favorite Disney characters will wish everyone a happy “New Year’s Greeting” during a special parade at Tokyo Disneyland and a harbor show at Tokyo DisneySea every day of the celebration. Mickey and Minnie will be dressed in their finest kimono to honor the occasion.

More than 50 new merchandise items will be on sale starting November 17, including kimono-clad Disney character plush badges and Pluto motif daruma, a Japanese good luck doll. Other items include New Year’s greeting cards and stamp sets featuring Mickey and his friends dressed in kimono.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, try a few delicious Pluto-themed treats or enjoy dessert from souvenir Japanese tea cups. Beginning December 26, the Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will also offer limited-time New Year’s menus.

There’s a new Marvel Original series coming to Hulu, featuring a band of teenage heroes. The Marvel’s Runaways Teaser Trailer debuted this week, and it’s full of mystery and intrigue that has us wanting more!

Marvel’s Runaways follows a group of teenagers who band together after they discover their parents are super-villains in disguise. They unite together in order to atone for their parents’ actions and to discover the secrets of their origins. The new series debuts only on Hulu this fall, Tuesday, November 21. The trailer had a lot of action, and sneak peeks that not only have you curious and wanting to know more, but also appeals to future super-hero fans.

MagicBand Puck Keeper Slider

One of the things that I’m always doing when I wear a MagicBand, is looking at my wrist to check the time. I know there isn’t a watch there, but it still doesn’t stop me from checking. With the versatility of the new “puck” of the MagicBand 2 though, that might not be a problem anymore! My Design Accessories on Etsy came up with this clever little MagicBand Puck Keeper Slider, that allows you to slide your puck onto a watch!

I really love the ingenuity that people have come up with for new ways to wear the MagicBand 2 pucks, it helps Disney lovers show off their own unique personalities more. This keeper slider is designed to hold a Walt Disney World Magic Band 2 Puck on a wristband. The designer has tried it out with many different bands, including the Apple Watch. This on my FitBit would be the best of 3 worlds for me. It’s usually annoying trying to put both hands on the same wrist, or having one on each wrist, so with this I’d have my activity tracker, time, and MagicBand all in one. Seriously, this is just such a clever idea, and I love it!

New trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuts tomorrow

Lucasfilm announced today that the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 9, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears in Chicago.

The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT.

Following the trailer launch, tickets to the highly anticipated cinematic event will be on sale everywhere movie tickets are sold.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in U.S. theaters on December 15.

Walt Disney Company Submits Ride Patent for New Theme Park Experience

The latest Disney patent was filed on Thursday October 5th, and the patent description hints at the possibility of a Spider-man themed attraction. The new patent, referred to as a Track-based Swing Ride with Long Arm Pendulum, seems to move guests through a track based ride, while hanging, similar to Magic Kingdom’s Peter Pan attraction, but with the additional element of swinging while moving along the track.

Below is a description of the patent:

“One goal in designing the ride system was to deliver an experience similar to what it would feel like to be with Tarzan or a similar character swinging between trees of a jungle on a vine or with Spider-Man or a similar character swinging on webs between buildings as you move down streets of a city. [The ride is] intended to have swinging sensation provided while also having forward travel along a ride path in a direction of travel and for the swinging sensation to feel thrilling and fun.”

Of course as of now any character themes behind the ride, or even which park it will appear in, is all speculation. With the D23 announcement of the future Super Hero Universe coming to Disney California Adventure Park, it wouldn’t surprise me if the hints within the patent’s description hold true. Although, it was recently confirmed that the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction coming to Epcot will be a roller coaster; so it’s possible that this patent could be the track system for the new attraction.

Nothing is official until Disney says, but it is certainly fun to guess at what they have in store for their theme parks.

We are constantly in awe of the amazing creative treats making the rounds and Disneyland each season but today’s offering has to be one of our favorites.  Found at Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream located at Disney’s California Adventure the “Spider Silk” macaron is almost too frightfully fun to eat.  Take a closer look at this delicious ice cream sandwich posted by disneylifewithbaymax on Instagram:

This delectable treat is made up of two massive black macarons, charcoal-cherry ice cream, and raspberry sauce.  There’s also a bit of popping candy to give it a bit of extra bite. So if you’re heading to Disneyland this Fall the be sure to pick yours up for $7.00.  Indulgent? Yes. Totally worth it? You bet!

I love it when two things I love get combined into one! These vibrant and adorable Mystery Costume Stitch Minnie Ears have done that brilliantly too! Not only are they Minnie Ears, which I can never have enough of, there’s also a mystery aspect to them! I love blind boxes, and mystery picks, so this sounded to exciting to me.

What’s the mystery you ask? Well, each set of ears will feature Stitch, Scrump, or both… BUT, you won’t know which adorable costume they will be dressed in!
