AP Event For Toy Story Land Pre-Registration Details

The Toy Story Land Annual Passholder event for September was recently announced and we now have details on how to register! AP holders can head over to the Annual Passholder Special Offers and Events section of the Disney website and scroll down to find “Enjoy Exclusive Access to Toy Story Land on Select Dates This September” and “Be Sure To Register!” You must be logged in with your AP account to proceed. Once you have successfully signed up to receive AP emails, you’ll see this message:

“Advance registration is required – so be on the lookout for an event invitation with registration details in your email. If an eligible Passholder would like to register a Guest to accompany them, that Guest must also have a valid Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus or Premier annual pass, be listed on your Family & Friends list and have opted to share “All My Plans” with you. Event capacity is limited and is subject to availability.”

Disney Recipe: Make Guava-Stuffed French Toast!

Disney Recipe: “Guava-Stuffed French Toast” just like the one they serve at Spyglass Grill in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. If you have ever stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort you know there are amazing pools and beautiful Caribbean inspired decor. There is a new casual quick service location serving up American/Caribbean fusion foods! The “Cream Cheese and Guava-stuffed French Toast” is out of this world and we have the recipe to try it at home direct from Disney!

Cream Cheese and Guava-stuffed French Toast

Serves 4

CREAM CHEESE ICING
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream

CREAM CHEESE FILLING
1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar

GUAVA SAUCE
1 cup guava paste, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3/4 cup water

EGG CUSTARD
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla paste

FRENCH TOAST
1 tablespoon butter
8 slices, brioche, cut into 3/4-inch thick slices
8 slices guava paste, cut into 1/4-inch thick strips
1 pint strawberries, sliced

FOR CREAM CHEESE ICING:

Whip cream cheese in a bowl of electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add powdered sugar and whip until fluffy.
Add heavy cream and beat until mixed. Set aside.
FOR CREAM CHEESE FILLING:

Place cream cheese in bowl of electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment. Whip until smooth.
Add powdered sugar and mix until fluffy. Set aside.
FOR GUAVA SAUCE:

Combine guava paste and water in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes, until thick syrup forms.
Keep warm until ready to serve.
FOR EGG CUSTARD:

Combine milk, cream, eggs, and vanilla paste in medium bowl. Whisk until smooth.
Set aside.
FOR FRENCH TOAST:

Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat, until butter is melted.
Dip 2 slices of brioche in egg custard, making sure to coat both sides of bread. Remove from custard and place on hot skillet.
Cook for 2 minutes, until golden brown. Turn brioche over. Place 1/4 of the cream cheese filling on one piece of bread and 2 slices of guava paste on the other. Cook for one minute. Reduce heat to low and press guava paste and cream cheese filling sides together. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until fillings begin to melt.
Place on a plate and top with guava sauce, cream cheese icing, and strawberries.
Repeat with remaining slices of brioche.

90th Anniversary Mickey Coffee Blend

Coffee lovers at Disney have come to know and love Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company. They’re the official specialty of the Disney Parks, Resorts and Vacation Club. Now they have teamed up to release three new blends of coffee, that will be available at grocery stores. Come this August you will be able to find a 90th Anniversary Mickey Coffee Blend, and two others at stores nationwide, and online!

The 90th Anniversary blend was created to honor the big-screen debut of Mickey in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928. The blend will be a smooth, medium-roasted coffee that is as classic as our favorite mouse, Mickey. This limited-edition blend will be available towards the end of August.

The additional specialty coffees include Disney French Bistro, and Disney Organic Peru Alto Mayois. Disney French Bistro is a full-bodied dark roast that is currently offered to Walt Disney World Resort guests. The Disney Organic Peru Alto Mayois is a USDA Organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee that is farmed using sustainable methods in a protected area of San Martin, located in the Amazon rainforest. Joffrey’s has worked with Disney and Conservation International to support the Alto Mayo Protected Forest Project in Peru.

Who doesn’t love a whimsical bubble wand? Especially a Disney one that lights up with beautiful colors! The new Cinderella Bubble Wand from Disneyland does not disappoint! Although I may be a grownup, I kind of want one for myself.

The newest bubble wand features Cindy’s iconic pumpkin carriage, and has a silver toned handle that makes this wand look like a regal scepter. It lights up in a few different colors, and looks stunning in the dark. The details on this wand are so intricate, I love it! I can just picture wielding this bubble want while munching on popcorn from the Cinderella Popcorn Bucket too.

This one doesn’t sing like the Ariel bubble wand, but us mom’s might kind of like that idea. You can find these at select locations through out the Disneyland Theme Parks, and Downtown Disney for $25.00. They have not popped up at Walt Disney World yet, but we’re crossing our fingers in hopes that they will soon! There is the Buzz Lightyear bubble wand coming soon to Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World though.

Tamar and Toni Braxton Vist Walt Disney World

Watch Tamar and Toni Braxton take you along as they visit Walt Disney World! TV personalities Tamar and Toni Braxton recently visited the Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate Tamar’s sons 5th birthday and make some magical memories.

The Braxtons enjoyed the food and rides throughout the park and even took Toni on her first roller coaster, Big Thunder Mountain. “Being at a Walt Disney World vacation with my entire family has been nothing short of a miracle and a dream,” said Tamar Braxton. The family was able to spend some time with WDW’s leading lady, Minnie Mouse! The Braxtons wore matching red bow Minnie ears and shirts that say “Logan” with the number 5 on it to celebrate his birthday while they were there. Watch the video below to see more!

I am Groot Cupcake? Well, whatever it is, we think it looks delicious! Thanks to our friend, Mary M., we have photos of the new Galaxy Cupcake available starting today! This treat is available at Fife & Drum Tavern!

This chocolate cupcake is topped with buttercream and a white chocolate piece featuring Groot! It is available for $5.75 – or one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan!

This is one of the many treats you’ll find at Epcot in celebration of the new “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Live!” that opened today at America Gardens Theatre at Epcot! This new show is running five time a day through August 19th and is free with park admission.

This is just one of the many things happening during the Walt Disney World Resort’s Incredible Summer that kicked off a few weeks ago!

Who’s not excited about the openings of Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios? I know I am anxiously counting down the days to take my first spin on Slinky Dog Dash at Toy Story Land and see an actual AT-AT at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

As you are probably aware, Toy Story Land will have it’s official opening this month on June 30. While there will not be an Annual Passholder preview, Disney just announced this week that special events will be held in Toy Story Land in the month of September for Annual Passholders.

An official opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has not been announced but we have been told it will be in late Fall 2019. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is expected to open at Disneyland in the Summer of 2019.

Disney Announces Imaginations Design Competition at Shanghai Disney

Exciting news coming out of Shanghai Disney! just announced plans to launch Disney Imaginations Shanghai, a design competition based on Walt Disney Imagineering’s renowned Imaginations Design Competition, in Shanghai for the first time this summer. The Disney Imaginations Shanghai seeks and nurtures the next generation of diverse dreamers and doers who combine storytelling with the latest technologies to create immersive experiences for Disney theme parks, resorts, and attractions.

Students from select universities across Shanghai will be invited to participate in the competition where they will use their technical, artistic and creative skills to propose hypothetical concepts for an entertainment-focused experience or product. These projects are not intended to be built by Disney but serve as a creative exercise for the participating students and an opportunity for Shanghai Disney Resort to look for future theme park designers. The finalist teams will compete for the first place award during the final competition hosted at Shanghai Disney Resort, and the winning team will be eligible to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience at Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) in Glendale, California, fully sponsored by Shanghai Disney Resort. Members of the winning team will also be offered an internship at Shanghai Disney Resort, where they can gain unique educational and professional industry experience.

Shanghai Disney Resort is a magical destination filled with creativity and happiness, creating memories for millions of guests from China and around the world. Since the resort’s April 2011 groundbreaking, the cultivation of local talent and the collaborative teamwork of local and international professionals have been essential in developing, designing and creating a Shanghai Disney Resort that is “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.”

The resort continues to bring the best of Disney’s creative practices to China, and also recruits and trains local talent to join Disney’s creative force. The introduction of Disney Imaginations Shanghai is an example of the resort’s commitment to nurturing, cultivating and inspiring young talent through creativity and imagination. The competition also represents a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their talent for integrating innovative and globally diverse ideas.

Started in 1991 by Disney Legend and Imagineering executive, the late Marty Sklar, the annual Imaginations Design Competition is renowned for seeking out the next generation of Disney Imagineers. Some participants even go on to internships or full-time positions at Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative force that imagines, designs and builds all Disney theme parks and resorts worldwide. Inspired by the idea of this acclaimed design competition, the Disney Imaginations Hong Kong was launched by Hong Kong Disneyland Resort in 2011. Now, Shanghai Disney Resort is launching Disney Imaginations Shanghai, a program that invites passionate students to showcase their talents in creative entertainment and win opportunities to work with leading experts in the theme park industry.

The first Disney Imaginations Shanghai design competition will pilot at select universities across Shanghai, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Theatre Academy, East China University of Science and Technology, Donghua University and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, with support from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. Starting next week, Shanghai Disney Resort will launch a roadshow at these select universities to introduce more details and call for applications.

A Magical Photo Walking Tour of Disneyland Resort

Joshua Sudock from Disney Parks Blog takes a weekly walk through Disneyland Resort to document current events and keep the photographic archive fresh while also making some art. (What a cool job, by the way!) He has shared some photos from recent walks and they are for sure magical!

Take a look for yourself:

Sudock’s day usually begins at Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park. Sudock says of this picture, ” One of the great joys of this gig is figuring out new, fresh ways to photograph the resort’s many iconic locations. I thought the sun rising behind this cartoon fish talk/gas pump looked interesting and it’s a picture I can’t remember seeing before.”

Sudock was able to catch the new “The Incredibles”-themed Pixar Fest Monorail Orange while walking along the old Fantasyland Motor Boat Cruise dock. He thought it looked gorgeous against the pinkish clouds, blue sky, and green foliage. I have to agree!

The Tabebuia Impetiginosa tree blossoms are breathtaking when they are in bloom. Sudock was able to capture them with the Matterhorn in the background for this shot.

As you know, there is magic everywhere at Disneyland Resort! Sudock took this photo to document the way the lit signage reflects against the new Main Street U.S.A. brickwork after an early-morning steam cleaning.

Sudock was able to catch this incredible photo at Disney California Adventure Park just as the sun was rising.

For Sudock’s last stop, he caught the exquisite rock work of Cadillac Ridge at Radiator Springs Racers as the sun sets on Cars Land. Amazing!

Registration Open and Dates Announced for 15th Annual Festival Disney Competition

2019 marks the 15th anniversary of Festival Disney at Walt Disney Wold. Festival Disney is the annual music competition that features choirs, bands, and orchestras from around the world. For the past 14 years, this event has featured over 7,000 performance groups! We are happy to announce that the 2019 festival will be held on select weekends from March 1 to May 4, 2019.

The competition allows directors to choose between competitive and non-competitive performance opportunities and will also receive educational adjudication from nationally-recognized music educators. Each weekend during Festival Disney culminates with an upbeat awards ceremony where groups can will be awarded “Best in Class,” as well as gold, silver, or bronze awards for their talents.
