More Exterior Work Set for Disney’s Beach Club Resort This Summer and Fall
Looks like the construction parade isn’t quite ready to roll out just yet at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! Fresh off the heels of a splashy refurbishment at Stormalong Bay, even more exterior enhancements are coming to this beloved seaside-themed resort beginning in early June and continuing through September 2025.
If you’re dreaming of a late-summer or early-fall stay at Beach Club, here’s what you need to know before you pack those flip-flops and mouse ears.
What’s Changing?
From June through September 2025, Disney will be conducting additional exterior maintenance around the resort. The most noticeable impact? The temporary closure of the porte cocheres—the covered drive-up entrances used for guest drop-offs and pickups.
But don’t worry—Disney has confirmed that valet parking, luggage assistance, and transportation services will all continue without interruption. You just might have to walk a few extra steps to get your beach day started.
What to Expect During Your Stay
Construction crews will be working during daytime hours, and while they’ll do their best to keep the magic going, guests should expect to see scaffolding, workers, and—yep—hear a bit of construction noise. Mickey might be on vacation, but the jackhammers aren’t.
This next wave of work closely follows the renovation of Stormalong Bay, the sprawling, shipwreck-themed pool complex shared with Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. That project is scheduled to wrap up in June, meaning pool lovers can still float away in the lazy river or take the plunge down that epic waterslide while the new exterior work gets underway nearby.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort will remain open and fully operational during the project, with all core amenities—including transportation, dining, and recreation—available to guests. So while the entrance may look a little different and you might hear a buzz or two in the background, you’ll still be enjoying that breezy Atlantic Boardwalk charm in full Disney style.
Whether you’re grabbing a scoop at Beaches & Cream or heading to EPCOT through the International Gateway, you’ll still find plenty of reasons to say “Wish you were here!”

Disney World Changing Annual Passholder Park Reservation Rules for ‘Disney Starlight’ Parade Debut
Walt Disney World Annual Passholders planning to visit Magic Kingdom this summer will need to adjust their park-hopping strategy. In anticipation of the highly-awaited debut of the new nighttime parade, “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away,” the resort announced it will require Annual Passholders to hold a theme park reservation to enter Magic Kingdom at any time of day, effective July 20, 2025.
The change coincides with the premiere of “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away,” which marks the first new, year-round nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom in nearly ten years, following the final run of the Main Street Electrical Parade in 2016. The introduction of this major new entertainment offering is expected to draw significant crowds, prompting the policy adjustment to manage park capacity.
This move modifies the current system, introduced in January 2023, which allows Annual Passholders to enter any of the four theme parks after 2:00 PM without needing a park reservation, with the exception of Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays. Starting July 20th, while Passholders can still visit EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom after 2:00 PM without a reservation (subject to blockout dates), Magic Kingdom will now require a reservation for entry every day, all day.
Until the new parade debuts on July 20th, the existing rules remain in effect, meaning Passholders can still visit Magic Kingdom without a reservation after 2:00 PM on weekdays. Additionally, Disney World confirmed that the “Good-to-Go” days system will continue, offering select dates where Passholders can visit designated parks without a reservation. Annual Passholders are encouraged to check the My Disney Experience app and the WDW Passholder website for reservation availability and “Good-to-Go” dates when planning their visits, especially during the busy summer season.
Pixar’s Elio Tickets Now On Sale at El Capitan Theatre!
Disney and Pixar’s newest animated feature, Elio, is coming to the El Capitan Theatre from June 20 through July 20. Before the film, guests can enjoy an all-new Light and Projection Experience and capture memories at the photo op and mural wall.
Guests can be among the first to see “Elio” with our early access screenings on Wednesday June 18 with screenings at 4pm in 3D and 7pm in 2D.
A Fan Event screening for Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” will take place at 7:00pm on Friday, June 20. Tickets are $50 and include a reusable water bottle, popcorn, fountain beverage, and event credential.
A special Intergalactic Pack is available for $125 and includes four tickets, four 84oz popcorn bags, and four 24oz fountain beverages.
Specialty concession items will be available for purchase for ticketed guests, while supplies last.
Daily showtimes for Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” June 20 through July 20 in 2D are 10:00am, 4:00pm, 7:00pm, and 9:55pm. 3D screenings are available daily at 1pm. Tickets are $22 for adults and $19 for children and seniors.
Sensory Inclusive Screenings are available Saturday July 12 at 1pm in 3D and Thursday July 17 at 7pm in 2D. Open Caption screenings are available Sunday July 13 at 4pm and Wednesday July 16 at 7pm. Spanish Dubbed screenings are available Tuesday July 15 at 7pm and Saturday July 19 at 4pm.
Military Appreciation Month: How Disney Honors Our Heroes
Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, is a solemn day to honor and mourn military service members who made the ultimate sacrifice. Disney recognizes these fallen heroes at its parks and various locations by setting up tables of remembrance. These tables symbolize and honor brave service members who never returned home. Each year, Disney places these tributes at locations like Disneyland Resort, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and backstage at Walt Disney World, to respectfully remember their service and sacrifice.
Here are just a few of the aspects of the Missing Hero tables:
A slice of lemon on the bread plate reminds us of the bitter fate of those who will never return.
A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those who have sacrificed all.
An inverted glass is symbolic of those who cannot toast with us at this time.
The chair is empty, the seat that remains unclaimed at the table.
“The Missing Hero Tables we display at this time are meant to be a strong visual symbol of those who are no longer with us, that those who see them may stop for a moment to reflect and hopefully show appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy due to the great sacrifice that these many heroes have given for us,” explained U.S. Navy veteran and Disneyland Resort main entrance operations manager, Nick Filippone.
May is National Military Appreciation Month, and Disney is honored to salute military service—whether they be guests or cast members—in many ways. Here are a few of the ways Disney has recognized military heroes and their families throughout this past month.
Magical Sail-abrations at Disneyland for LA Fleet Week 2025
Disney had the opportunity to once again host Sailors and Marines in port for Los Angeles Fleet Week—a salute to members of the U.S. Sea Services held over Memorial Day weekend each year—by surprising 100 service members with a day at Disneyland Resort!
The Sailors and Marines had the chance to “celebrate happy” during the Disneyland 70th Celebration by enjoying time inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Mickey’s Toontown and even experience reserved viewing for the “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular!
Most notably, cast members and guests alike had the chance to honor their valiant service with a special Flag Retreat ceremony in Town Square, accompanied by the Disneyland Band and The Dapper Dans.
Military Spouse Appreciation Day
At Disney, the unwavering strength and support that military families provide to their loved ones in the U.S. Armed Forces is recognized. For Military Spouse Appreciation Day on May 9, Disney highlighted military spouse and planDisney panelist, Carrie.
Carrie was able to discover the joy of Disney vacations with her family thanks to the various discounts and promotions offered at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort for eligible U.S. military members.
“Disneyland Resort has truly become a home away from home for me and our kids. Obviously, we love coming to celebrate—making up for lost time when Dad’s here—but it’s also a place we choose to go when we’re having a hard time, and we just want to get away for a little bit,” explained Carrie.
Nods to Service Across The Parks
The parks are full of small details, rich history and hidden nods to service, including former President George W. Bush’s Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors exhibit in EPCOT.
Beyond the portraits, there are also nods to veterans who helped build the parks, such as Disney Legend and U.S. Navy veteran, Rear Admiral Joe Fowler, who is among nearly 25 Disney Legends who helped shape the parks as we know them today.
You can find his name at “Fowler’s Harbor” along the Rivers of America in Disneyland park or even ride the Admiral Joe Fowler ferry across the Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World.

Flag Retreats have become a proud tradition at the parks on both coasts. Every day, as the flag is lowered on Main Street, U.S.A., we take time to salute the heroes who stand up for our country. Disney has continuously honored countless service members, veterans and their families throughout the years and it will continue to be a representation of our enduring salute to service.
These ceremonies have created incredibly special moments where we have and continue to honor and recognize our military service members in both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom–something Disney has been doing since Disneyland park first opened almost 70 years ago.
Creating Happiness Year Round
There are so many ways Disney brings joy to guests, and Disney takes pride in over 100 years of enduring salute to service. Disney is grateful to not only recognize heroes within its parks but also through charitable giving and relationships with organizations like the USO, Blue Star Families, Fisher House, and Student Veterans of America.
