Disney To Hold Auditions For New Dapper Dans

It’s time to warm up your vocal cords! Disney will be holding auditions for male vocalists to perform at The Magic Kingdom as part of The Dapper Dans.

The Dapper Dans are a traditional male barbershop quartet who can be found performing throughout Town Square and along Main Street, U.S.A. This talented bunch performs traditional barbershop songs such as “Mr. Sandman” and “Yankee Doodle Dandy” as well as versions of Disney songs such as “Cruella DeVil” and “Zip A Dee Doo Dah”.

In addition to crooning in perfect harmony, the talented quartet can be found playing chimes and performing a bit of tap dancing for guests.

Disney is seeking Dapper Dans who are males in their 20’s – 30’s to perform as part of a traditional Barbershop Quartet, for possible full-time contracts. Experience with tap dancing is a plus.

The following vocal requirements apply:

TENOR: Must be able to sing to high B flat and have great vocal stamina

LEAD: Great lead vocalist, with strong leading man persona

BARITONE: Great parts singer

BASS: True bass, must be able to sing low E flat or lower

Auditions will be held April 6th at 10:00AM at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Rehearsal Facility in Kissimee, FL and April 17th at 10:00AM at Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, MD.

The Downtown Disney District at Disneyland has some of the best places to satisfy even the sweetest of teeth. Even better, a couple of those amazing places have Fruity Pebbles inspired sweets!

Kayla’s Cake, located on Downtown Drive near World of Disney and the Lego Store, is featuring Fruity Pebbles macaroons. These unbelievably delicate treats are the perfect combination of flavors with sprinkles of the wildly popular cereal. You can snag a dozen of these delicious macaroons for $28.

Another fantastic location to get a Fruity Pebbles inspired delight is the California Churro Company (Churro Cart) located in numerous areas of Disneyland. Their menu includes churros of all flavors, including Oreo, Fruity Pebbles and pumpkin however, that menu rotates. It’s hard to know just when they will have which flavors on hand at any given time. If you do happen upon the tasty Fruity Pebbles churro, it can be yours for just under $5.

Netflix's Smash Hit Stranger Things is Coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios this Fall

Fans of Netflix’s critically acclaimed and bone-chilling show Stranger Things are in for a special treat as it was announced today that the Stranger Things will be coming to Halloween Horror Nights this year.

According to a piece in Variety, the small town of Hawkins, Ind. will be recreated at Universal Studios’ Hollywood, Orlando and Singapore where guests will want to be on the lookout for the formidable Demogorgon from Season 1 of the series.

In a statement, Universal had this to say of the eerie collaboration, “From the menacing Hawkins National Laboratory, under the U.S. Department of Energy, to the Byers home adorned with an erratic display of flashing Christmas lights and the eerie Upside Down woods oozing a shower of floating orb-like spores, the chilling new mazes will offer surprising twists and unexpected turns around every corner.

I am happy to announce that the moment we have all been waiting for his finally here – Millennial Pink “Ears” are now on sale at Walt Disney World! Per the Tweet below, Guests can now purchase at the Main Street Emporium in the Magic Kingdom.

The Millennial Pink Ears were not supposed to go on sale at Walt Disney World until mid-April but it looks like they decided to follow Disneyland’s lead and put them out even sooner! I know I am not complaining!

We will update you as soon as we hear of other locations where the  Millennial Pink Ears are also available.

Try These Unique Beers to Celebrate National Beer Day at Disney World

Did you know April 7th is National Beer Day?!  There are several unique beers at the Walt Disney World Resort that are PERFECT for celebrating!  From the Italian Birra Fragante to the Florida-brewed Violet Lemonade Ale, there is something for every beer lover at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Here are some of the most unique beers you’ll find at Disney World:

Birra Frangante, Birrificio Del Ducato, served at Maria & Enzo’s, Disney Springs: Translated as “fragrant beer” in Italian, this brew from Parma Italy borders on a Belgian pale ale style, but much more fragrant and aromatic. Paired beautifully with 24 month-aged prosciutto di Parma.

Cantillion served at The Edison, Disney Springs: One of the most highly regarded and coveted beers in the world, this Belgium-based brew specializes in the the (almost) lost style of Lambics.  Lambics are particularly interesting as they really are the “terroir” of beer.  Brewed only 5 months a year, this beer is cooled off and inoculated with wild yeast that floats in from the open windows, settling in the Koelschip, which uses the cool fall and spring air to cool the wort and to give the yeast it’s local flavor and terroir – a true adventure for the nose and the palate. The Edison’s current selection special is the rare version Fou’ Foune or a Lambic aged on apricots.

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout served at Enzo’s Hideaway, Disney Springs: The original bourbon barrel aged stout with rich, luscious notes of chocolate, vanilla and a nice roasted barley note. This brew is a perfect fit to this speakeasy bar that rotates its “smuggled selections” regularly.

Mo’ara High Country Ale served at Satu’li Canteen, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Features an herbal spice hop aroma and notes of caramel, toffee and nuts. A perfect refreshment after riding a banshee on Pandora’s Flight of Passage.

Monarch Milk Stout served at Florida Fresh, Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival: This brew from First Magnitude brewing Co. in Gainesville Florida is smooth with a hint of sweetness. Rich and dark in color, this milk stout is the like cream added to your morning coffee…with a little kick.

Sakura Kolsch, Crooked Can Brewing Co., served at Morimoto Asia, Disney Springs: A true collaboration between Morimoto Asia and Crooked Can brewing, the Sakura Kolsch or Cherry Blossom Kolsch is dry hopped with Cherry Blossom tea. It is a unique and one of a kind beer that complements so many of Chef Morimoto’s dishes including sushi.

Violet Lemonade Ale served at Pineapple Promenade, Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival: This Playalinda Brewing Company beer from Titusville Florida is refreshingly sweet and sour, a perfect complement to bright Florida sun.

I don’t know about you, but all of these sound amazing!  The Violet Lemonade Ale is a favorite and a MUST TRY if you’re hitting up Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival! Which are you most excited to try?!

Is Vampirina Coming to Disney World?

Do you have Vampirina fans in your house like me? Then, I have exciting news for you! Per WDWMagic.com, it sounds like Vampirina will be making appearances at Disney World in the near future!

The location of where Vampirina will appear is unknown at this time. Likely places for her to show up are at one of three locations in Hollywood Studios. 

The first likely place for Vampirina at Hollywood Studios would be at the Disney Jr Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine. Another likely place for her to land is at the meet and greet area inside of Walt Disney Presents. Currently, Guests can meet and greet with Star-lord and Groot inside Walt Disney Presents but rumor is that they will be leaving sometime this Summer. Finally, Vampirina might make her debut at the character interaction area outside of the Disney Jr attraction.

We have a new look at the 2nd floor Wine Bar George, opening this Spring located in The Landings neighborhood near Raglan Road.  Master Sommelier George Miliotes brings his expert pairings as one of 230 people certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers.

“With an international wine list that’s both approachable and adventurous, my hope is that Wine Bar George will cater to wine connoisseurs and novices alike,” Miliotes said in a news release. “The wine menu will feature a range of varietals, vintages, and prices. Guests will be able to experience sips from acclaimed and well-known wineries as well as growing regions and wineries that are up-and-coming.”

With these Epicurean Port Adventures, eating your meal is only half the fun! Guests sailing on an Alaskan itinerary are invited to dine on seafood you just caught on a fishing adventure off the coast of the scenic Tongass National Forest. Guests sailing on a Meditteranean Cruise to Italy can compete in a cooking challenge at a local farm right after exploring the ruins of Pompei and the beautiful Sorrento Coast.

And for my favorite… the Wine and Dessert Port Adventures! Guests on Bahamian sailings can tour an 18th-century wine cellar followed by a 4-course meal paired with the perfect wine. A Walt Disney World vacation doesn’t have to be just for the kiddos! Now that the temperatures are rising it’s the perfect time to head over to Disney Springs and experience some of their dynamic, late night entertainment, fresh dining experiences, and stylish new stores.

Make sure to check out my previous article on the new Pixar-themed kids club experience that allows kids ages 4-12 a fun supervised evening while the adults enjoy a night out on their own.

Late Night Fun

You won’t turn into a pumpkin once the clock strikes midnight here! After 10 pm every Thursday through Saturday, Disney Springs comes alive with late-night offerings until 2 a.m. Cocktails and cabaret are waiting for you to enjoy!

There’s no need for sensible footwear when all the action is within a few steps of each other. Guests can mix and match their options to design the perfect night at the Landing neighborhood in Disney Springs. Plus the complimentary parking doesn’t hurt either.

Enjoy the cabaret at The Edison with flapper-style dancers. You’ll feel like you stepped into another world with the lavish “Industrial Gothic” decor while enjoying handcrafted cocktails. Late Night Entertainment and Trend-Setting Styles At Disney Springs

The highly-anticipated Wine Bar George will open its doors later this spring, bringing the expertise of Master Sommelier George Miliotes to Disney Springs. The two-story space of Wine Bar George draws design inspiration from a winemaker’s home estate and features more than 135 wines available by the bottle and glass, along with a selection of small plates, cheese and charcuterie boards, family-style plates and desserts. Guests will learn about food and wine pairing while enjoying stunning views of Disney Springs.

WDW Terralina

Also opening this spring is Terralina Crafted Italian. The new dining experience, curated by celebrity and James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano, will transport guests to the splendor of the Italian countryside with cuisine combining authentic Italian flavors and an unparalleled ambiance.

Disney Springs is open every day of the year from 11:00 a.m. to midnight, with select restaurants, lounges, and entertainment locations open late-night hours until 2:00 a.m. on select nights.
