Disney Destiny to Feature Giant Titan Puppets in New ‘Hercules’ Show

As the Disney Destiny prepares for its maiden voyage this November, Disney Imagineering has unveiled a sneak peek at the massive Titan puppets. These incredible creations will be featured in the cruise ship’s brand-new, Broadway-style production of Hercules.

These colossal puppets leverage the same exoskeleton technology previously used for the Hulk character at Disney California Adventure, bringing them to life with remarkable realism. This innovative endeavor is a collaborative effort between Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Live Entertainment.

The Hercules stage show will treat audiences to all the beloved songs from the film, including “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love,” alongside exciting new compositions. Fans will also be thrilled by the theatrical debut of “Shooting Star,” a beautiful ballad by Alan Menken and David Zippel that was originally cut from the animated movie.

Disney previously hinted at groundbreaking technology to bring the Titans to life, and now we know why: a recent video reveals performers will literally wear the colossal Titan suits, a theatrical first.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Is Going Full Puppet in Season 4—With Help from the Jim Henson Company

Strange New Worlds is boldly going where only the fluffiest have gone before. During the Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount+ dropped a delightful bombshell: Season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will feature a full-on puppet episode—crafted by none other than Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

According to reporting by The Nerdist, Captain Pike and crew are getting the fuzzy treatment in an episode directed by Jordan Canning, who previously worked on Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. While we don’t yet know how or why the U.S.S. Enterprise crew ends up in puppet form, we do know one thing: it’s going to be glorious.

Puppet Pike Takes Command

Fans got their first taste of the madness via a teaser from “Puppet Pike” himself, hinting at the episode’s tone and style. If the reaction in Hall H was anything to go by, audiences are fully onboard with this wacky warp-speed detour.

Season 4 has already wrapped filming, even though Season 3 just started airing last week on Paramount+. The upcoming puppet episode seems to build on the show’s recent legacy of playful experimentation. Remember last season’s full-blown musical episode? This crew clearly took a page from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer playbook—and we’re not mad about it.

Trek + Henson = Galactic Gold

This collaboration between Star Trek and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop feels like a match made in nerd heaven. Henson puppets have long been a staple of imaginative storytelling, from The Dark Crystal to Sesame Street, and now they’re suiting up for Starfleet.

At the panel, executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman were joined by cast members Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, and Paul Wesley. Fans were also treated to an exclusive early screening of a third season episode titled “A Space Adventure Hour,” a holodeck romp paying tribute to the entire Star Trek franchise.

And yes, there’s even a dazzling new poster for that episode—because no Trek tribute is complete without something to hang on your ready room wall.

Strange New Worlds: The Final Frontier (Eventually)

Sadly, Paramount+ has already confirmed that Strange New Worlds will end with a shortened fifth season. But don’t set phasers to sad just yet—we’ve still got plenty of episodes (and one very fuzzy detour) to enjoy before then.

As one of the best-reviewed Trek series in years, Strange New Worlds continues to push boundaries while honoring the heart and hope of the franchise. Puppet versions of Spock and Chapel? A bar full of felt Klingons? A Gorn made entirely of googly eyes and green yarn? We can only dream.

Whatever the context, the puppet episode promises to be another bold—and utterly charming—entry in the show’s ever-growing legacy of risk-taking fun.

Season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is currently streaming on Paramount+. Puppet chaos awaits next season!

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Reaches New Heights with A-Frame Cabins and Roof Framing in Progress

There’s a new chapter being written along the shores once graced by River Country, and it’s looking like a stunner! Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort nestled beside Fort Wilderness, is steadily rising from the ground, and the latest construction photos show some serious progress on this lakeside escape.

Thanks to the eagle-eyed aerial views from @bioreconstruct on X, we’ve got a bird’s-eye peek at how far things have come. From the sky, you can see all three wings of the resort starting to take shape, with the central courtyard area becoming more defined. The tallest structure on-site is now reaching its ninth floor, with cranes lifting steel trusses into place, and door frames and future balconies are beginning to appear like magic.

The pièce de résistance for many DVC fans might just be the A-frame cabins, reminiscent of the design teased in the once-cancelled Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge project. While Reflections may have been scrapped, it seems Disney is recycling some of that nature-inspired vision for Lakeshore Lodge. Four of these charming cabin frames are already in place near Clementine Beach, and seven more are in progress on the opposite side of the resort, with space potentially cleared for an eighth. Whether these future stays will come with lakefront or woodland views, one thing’s for sure; they’re going to be dreamy!

Around the main lodge, construction is moving quickly. The wing closest to the cabins now has sheathing on the first floor, and prep work has started for wrapping the second and third. Windows and sliding glass doors are also being installed across several levels. From nearby Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Arcade, you can even spot wall frames forming through the openings.

While Disney has filed permits for a 10-story build, some of the structure may be tiered, especially the wing facing Clementine Beach, where roofing frames are now being added.

The site itself holds a bit of nostalgic Disney history, as Lakeshore Lodge is being built where the old River Country water park once stood. Initially announced in 2018 as Reflections, construction was halted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, the dream is alive again; refreshed, renamed, and back on track for a grand opening in 2027.

Inspired by the majesty of nature and the timeless stories it’s sparked, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is poised to become a serene and stylish new addition to the DVC family. Whether you’re looking for rustic luxury, peaceful views, or simply want to wake up near the wilds of Fort Wilderness, this is one project to keep your eye on.

Liberty Belle Sets Sail for… Uncertainty? Riverboat & Rafts Relocated Behind Magic Kingdom Construction

A nostalgic piece of Magic Kingdom history has just floated a little farther downstream, literally. The Liberty Belle Riverboat and the Tom Sawyer Island rafts have officially been relocated along the Magic Kingdom service canal, edging closer to Seven Seas Lagoon. While their exact fate remains foggy, one thing is clear: they’re not headed to Yesterland just yet.

Related: Site Preparation Underway in Hollywood Studios for Monsters Inc Coaster

Thanks to aerial photography shared by @bioreconstruct on X, we now know that the Liberty Belle and her trusty Tom Sawyer companions were recently towed away from their previous backstage location near the Big Thunder Mountain construction zone. That original spot would’ve been tough to manage during the planned draining of the Rivers of America, so the move makes sense from a logistical point of view.

Now docked in a more navigable position, with water barriers keeping them afloat, the riverboat and rafts are literally in limbo, surrounded by just enough water to keep them stable. And yes, this new location opens up the possibility (however slim) of using Seven Seas Lagoon for future relocation or repurposing.

So what does this mean for fans still mourning the July 7 closure of both Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island? While demolition doesn’t appear to be imminent, Disney has confirmed that Imagineering is “trying to find a use” for the iconic vessel. Whether she gets a second life as a dining venue, themed bar, or showpiece? Well, that chapter’s yet to be written.

Got an idea for the Liberty Belle’s encore? Let us know over on socials, because even though the engine’s off, the nostalgia’s still running full steam.

Injury Report for Universal Orlando: Second Quarter 2025 Shows Mix of Minor Medical Incidents Across Parks

The Florida Department of Agriculture has released its MOU Exempt Facilities Report for Q2 2025, and Universal Orlando Resort logged six guest incidents that required hospital transport between April and June. While none of these appear to involve major trauma, they serve as a reminder that even in a land of superheroes and dragons, it’s important to keep an eye on your health.

Here’s a rundown of the Universal Orlando-related incidents:

  • April 26, 2025 – One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (Islands of Adventure): A 60-year-old woman reported wrist pain while riding this kid-friendly spinner. It’s usually a splashy and silly time, but even the gentler attractions can lead to unexpected discomfort.
  • May 5, 2025 – Hiccup’s Wing Gliders (Epic Universe): A 32-year-old man experienced chest pain while on this thrilling new addition in How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. As one of Epic Universe’s signature family thrill rides, it’s a reminder that flying with dragons isn’t for the faint of heart—literally.
  • May 25, 2025 – Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon (Universal Studios Florida): A 72-year-old woman experienced weakness and dizziness during this simulator-based ride. The mix of motion and 3D visuals can sometimes be overwhelming, especially in the Florida heat.
  • June 16, 2025 – The Incredible Hulk Coaster (Islands of Adventure): A 77-year-old man experienced chest pain after riding one of the park’s most intense roller coasters. With its launch lift hill and wild inversions, this ride packs a serious adrenaline punch.
  • June 22, 2025 – Stardust Racers (Epic Universe): A 63-year-old man with a pre-existing condition experienced dizziness and an altered state of consciousness during this dual-launch coaster. This is one of Epic Universe’s headliners, and clearly, it’s not holding back.
  • June 24, 2025 – Carou-Seuss-el & Stardust Racers (Islands of Adventure & Epic Universe): Two separate incidents: a 22-year-old woman experienced an altered level of consciousness on Carou-Seuss-el, and a 47-year-old woman reported visual disturbances and numbness (also with a pre-existing condition) on Stardust Racers.

These incidents are self-reported by Universal and only involve situations where a guest was transported to a hospital. Due to privacy laws, the Florida Department of Agriculture does not receive updates on guest conditions or outcomes.

Universal Orlando—especially now with Epic Universe preparing for its grand opening in 2025—hosts tens of thousands of guests daily. Incidents like these are relatively rare, but they remind us all to be cautious, aware of our personal health, and mindful of the physical intensity of certain rides.

If you’re ever unsure, don’t be afraid to speak with a Team Member, check health advisories posted at each attraction, or take a break from the thrills. Your fun should never come at the expense of your well-being.

Injury Report for Walt Disney World: Second Quarter 2025 Highlights Safety and Caution in the Parks

The latest MOU Exempt Facilities Report from the Florida Department of Agriculture has dropped, offering a quarterly snapshot of theme park incidents from April through June 2025. While it’s far from a thrill-killer, it’s a reminder that even the most magical vacation can come with real-world risks.

Related: Site Preparation Underway in Hollywood Studios for Monsters Inc Coaster

Disney World Accident & Injury Report for nd Quarter of

Let’s break down what was reported at Walt Disney World:

  • April 22, 2025 – Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (Magic Kingdom): A 76-year-old female guest fell while exiting the ride vehicle and injured her right leg. While this attraction is relatively tame compared to some of the resort’s thrill rides, disembarking ride vehicles can sometimes trip up even seasoned space cadets.
  • May 3, 2025 – DINOSAUR (Disney’s Animal Kingdom): An 87-year-old woman with a pre-existing condition lost consciousness after riding. DINOSAUR’s jerky movements and sudden darkness can surprise guests—even those expecting a bumpy ride through the Cretaceous.
  • June 21, 2025 – The Liberty Bell Riverboat (Magic Kingdom): A 44-year-old man reported right arm pain while aboard the historic steamboat. While typically a peaceful voyage, it’s a good reminder that even slow-moving attractions can pose challenges for those with medical vulnerabilities.

These reports are self-disclosed by the parks and only include cases where guests required transport to a hospital. Due to privacy protections, updates on the guests’ conditions aren’t shared publicly, and parks only report what’s known at the time.

Also worth noting: major parks like Disney World are exempt from regular state ride inspections due to their size and their own internal safety and inspection teams. Still, they are required to report serious injuries and medical incidents, maintaining a level of transparency in exchange for that exemption.

The takeaway? Disney remains one of the safest places to play, but even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, guests should ride smart. Know your health, take it easy in the summer heat, and don’t be afraid to skip a ride if it doesn’t feel right.

We’ll continue to monitor these quarterly reports to keep you informed about what’s happening behind the scenes at Florida’s top parks.

The Fantastic Four First Steps Lifts Off With Heroic $118 Million Debut

Marvel’s first family has finally received a heroic welcome at the box office. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” blasted off with a $118 million domestic debut from 4,125 theaters this weekend, slightly ahead of industry projections and signaling a much-needed victory for Marvel Studios. With an additional $100 million from international markets, the film’s global launch stands at an impressive $218 million.

The strong opening provides a crucial boost for the comic book empire, which has grappled with commercial inconsistency in recent years. While legacy sequels like “Spider-Man: No Way Home” have soared, attempts to launch newer properties have often faltered, such as this May’s “Thunderbolts,” which ended its run as one of the lowest-grossing entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The key question now is whether the film can maintain momentum, unlike other recent Marvel movies like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “Captain America: Brave New World,” which saw strong debuts collapse in subsequent weeks. “The Fantastic Four” holds a significant advantage: strong critical and audience reception. The film boasts an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and a promising “A-” CinemaScore from opening night audiences, suggesting positive word-of-mouth could give it long legs at the box office, especially with no major competition on the immediate horizon.

The Fantastic Four First Steps Lifts Off With Heroic $118 Million Debut

This success also breaks a long-standing curse for the property. Previous attempts to bring the team to the big screen have struggled to resonate. 20th Century Fox’s 2005 and 2007 films were financially successful but critically panned, while a widely derided 2015 reboot fizzled completely. This new installment appears to have finally struck the right chord with both critics and moviegoers.

Directed by Matt Shakman, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is a retro-futuristic adventure starring Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, as they unite to protect the world from a cosmic threat. Amazon Levels Up Again: ‘Wolfenstein’ TV Series in Development From ‘Fallout’ Producer and Patrick Somerville

Get ready to lock and load, as another iconic video game franchise is gearing up for the small screen. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Wolfenstein TV series, and it’s packing some serious firepower behind the scenes. Variety reports that the new series is being spearheaded by none other than Patrick Somerville, the creative force behind Station Eleven and Maniac. Somerville will serve as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer via his chaoticgood.tv banner. He’s teaming up with Fallout producers Jonah Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham through Kilter Films, the same dream team that brought post-apocalyptic thrills to Prime Video with Fallout (now gearing up for its second and third seasons).

While details are being kept tightly under wraps, the official tagline is as bold as it is brief:

“The story of killing Nazis is evergreen.”

And if you know Wolfenstein, that tagline is pitch-perfect.

What Is Wolfenstein, Anyway?

If you’re not familiar with Wolfenstein, it’s one of the OG first-person shooter franchises—basically, the great-granddaddy of run-and-gun Nazi-blasting video games. The series centers on U.S. soldier William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, a grizzled World War II badass who takes on a twisted version of history where the Nazis are dabbling in occult rituals, sci-fi weapons, and other nightmarish experiments in their quest for domination.

From its humble beginnings as the top-down Castle Wolfenstein in 1981 to the genre-defining Wolfenstein 3D in 1992, all the way through the slickly rebooted games developed by MachineGames in recent years (The New Order, The New Colossus, and the VR title Cyberpilot), the series has maintained a cult following—and a whole lot of Nazi body counts.

The Team Behind the Mayhem

In addition to Somerville and Kilter Films, executive producers include James Altman of Keyframe Films and Jerk Gustafsson from MachineGames, the current stewards of the franchise. This marks yet another high-profile video game adaptation for Amazon, which is already developing shows based on Mass Effect, God of War, and Warhammer 40,000 (starring Henry Cavill).

Somerville, who’s been a longtime fan of the games, is no stranger to genre storytelling. He’s also worked on The Leftovers, 24: Live Another Day, and The Bridge, and he’s an accomplished novelist with a penchant for mind-bending narratives—perfect for the surreal, alt-history world of Wolfenstein.

Amazon and Kilter’s recent success with Fallout proves they know how to translate beloved game IPs into high-quality, binge-worthy television. If Wolfenstein follows suit, we might be looking at Prime Video’s next major hit.
