Get ready to strike a pose with some spooky and silly companions because Walt Disney World has just revealed the full list of PhotoPass Magic Shots for the 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! This after-hours ticketed event, which runs on select nights at Magic Kingdom from August 15 through October 31, is a fan-favorite for its festive entertainment, trick-or-treating, and, of course, unique photo opportunities.

During the party, Disney PhotoPass photographers will be stationed throughout the park to capture your ghoulishly good memories. Orange County, Florida, has achieved a new financial milestone, recording its highest-ever tourist tax collections for the month of June. According to a recent report from Orange County Comptroller Phil Diamond, officials are directly attributing this record-setting performance to the opening of Universal’s new theme park, Epic Universe.

Orange County Sets Record with Highest Ever June Tourist Tax Collections

The tourist development tax, a 6% tax levied on hotel stays and short-term rentals under six months, is a key source of revenue for Orange County. Funds from this tax are utilized for the maintenance and operation of public destinations, such as convention centers and museums, as well as for promoting tourism within the area.

In the newly released report for June 2025, total tax collections reached an impressive $33.7 million. This figure represents a 10.3% increase compared to June 2024, solidifying it as the highest June collection on record. The Orlando Sentinel also reported that this marks the “second record-setting month in a row,” following a strong May 2025 that saw collections exceed $30 million.

Comptroller Phil Diamond highlighted the connection to the new theme park, stating, “The strong collections in June represent the first full month following the grand opening of Epic Universe on May 22.” While Universal’s parent company, Comcast Corp., does not publicly report the specific financial data for each park, the historical context supports the theory. The Orlando Sentinel notes that similar bumps in tax collections followed the openings of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which saw an 8% increase, and Islands of Adventure at Universal, which drove a 2% increase.

Looking to the future, the tax collections for the current fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2024, are already $16.3 million ahead of the previous year. This trend suggests that Orange County may see more record-breaking months ahead. In other news for the new park, Mark Woodbury, the Chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences, has already indicated that Universal is considering future expansion for Epic Universe with new attractions and intellectual property.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic Refurbishment Coming to California Adventure

Disney recently filed a permit for Mickey’s PhilharMagic at Disney California Adventure. This routine refurbishment suggests that the popular 3D film attraction will likely be undergoing some enhancements to improve the show’s overall quality and reliability.

According to a public permit filed with the City of Anaheim (permit #BLD2025-03804), electrical work is being planned for Stage 23 at Disney California Adventure, the location of the Mickey’s PhilharMagic attraction. The permit, which lists the address as 1515 S Harbor Blvd #301, specifically outlines plans to “Replace stage lighting, projector controls and control equipment” and “Add power circuits for new control equipment.” The work is being overseen by Gary Stephens, a professional engineer based in Laguna Niguel.

Disney Files Permit for Mickey’s PhilharMagic Refurbishment in California Adventure

The permit for the electrical updates is set to expire on August 5, 2026. While some fans have speculated that this work could be a sign of a new show or even the return of Muppet*Vision 3D, it’s more likely that these are routine updates to modernize the current equipment for Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Disney has not yet announced a refurbishment closure for the attraction.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic in Disney California Adventure

Mickey’s PhilharMagic first opened in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure in 2019. Two years later, the attraction was updated with a new scene inspired by the movie Coco. This same scene was also added to the original version of the show at Magic Kingdom and other international locations.

The 4D show stars Donald Duck, who is magically pulled into some of Disney’s most famous musical numbers. Guests can follow him through sequences from classic films like Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan, and Aladdin, in addition to the popular Coco scene.

The spooky season is creeping closer, and tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are vanishing faster than a hitchhiking ghost! As of today, seven event nights are completely sold out for 2025.

This year’s frightfully fun after-hours event runs on select nights from August 15 through October 31, transforming Magic Kingdom into a Halloween haven from 7:00 PM to midnight. Guests can enter as early as 4:00 PM with their event ticket—no separate park admission or reservation required—making it easy to enjoy your favorite rides and snacks before the ghoulish festivities kick off.

Currently, the following nights have reached “Date Not Available” status:

• September 19
• October 31

Translating to “Night of the Witches,” this eerie addition will have guests wandering into a realm where dark magic isn’t just a story…it’s hunting you.

Monstruos House Announced for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood

Revealed via the Halloween Horror Nights Instagram, the chilling concept art shows a skeletal-faced witch with flowing hair, sharp fangs, and clawed hands reaching out from a crimson frame. According to Universal, these “evil, cackling witches from Latin American legends will hunt you and ensnare you with dark enchantments.” Guests, consider yourselves hexed.

Noche de Brujas will tie thematically into this year’s Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America haunted house — the third installment in HHN Hollywood’s fan-favorite Monstruos series. Past houses have spotlighted monsters like La Lechuza, El Silbón, El Charro, and El Cucuy. This time, the terror trio includes La Llorona, the weeping woman who lures you to your doom; La Muelona, the toothy predator with a taste for the wicked; and La Siguanaba, the shapeshifter who seduces unsuspecting travelers before revealing her horrifying true form.

The new scare zone marks the second announced for HHN Hollywood 2025, following yesterday’s reveal of Chainsaw Clownz. They’ll join an already stacked lineup of haunted houses: Poltergeist, Fallout, WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Terrifier, JASON UN1V3RSE, Scarecrow: Music by Slash, and of course Monstruos 3. Universal Studios Florida Lagoon Bridge Refurbishment Underway

A major pathway at Universal Studios Florida is currently out of commission as refurbishment continues on the lagoon bridge connecting Springfield to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. The bridge, which normally provides a convenient shortcut across the park’s central lagoon, has been completely stripped down to its structural framework and is now in the process of being rebuilt.

During a recent visit we snagged these photos which show the bridge with all of its decking removed, scaffolding installed along the sides and underneath, and work crews focusing on structural repairs. Wooden planks and construction equipment are positioned at both ends of the bridge, while sections of the water below are cordoned off with floating barriers.

Once complete, the refreshed bridge will once again allow guests to bypass the longer waterfront loop through the New York and San Francisco areas, making for a faster route between two of the park’s most popular lands.

No official reopening date has been announced, but given the extent of the work, it’s likely the bridge will remain closed for a little while longer. For now, guests should plan on taking alternate routes around the lagoon.

How Walt Disney Imagineering Created H.E.R.B.I.E. for Disneyland

For a limited time, you can meet the Fantastic Four at Disneyland park, and they’ve brought along their adorable robot, H.E.R.B.I.E. Walt Disney Imagineering recently shared the fascinating process behind how they created this iconic character for the park.

Short for Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-type, Integrated Electronics, H.E.R.B.I.E. was created by none other than Mister Fantastic himself in the world of the Fantastic Four. Designed to assist the team with everything from scientific analysis to domestic household chores, this lovable assistant has quickly become a fan favorite, and Imagineers wanted to make sure he was right there with the family to greet guests at Disneyland!

Created and developed by Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development, the adorable robotic companion is stationed near the family’s meeting area in Tomorrowland. When he’s not assisting Reed Richards with ongoing research projects, H.E.R.B.I.E. happily greets guests and poses for photos as he goes about his work.

A Feat of Engineering

While studios work to bring viewers’ favorite characters to life on the big screen, Walt Disney Imagineering makes these characters tangible for guests and brings them to life in our parks.

When you meet H.E.R.B.I.E., his most noticeable feature is that he moves and balances on an eight-inch sphere. H.E.R.B.I.E. glides effortlessly due to his spherical base, which allows him to pivot, constantly adjust his angle and roll in any direction with outstanding precision.

To keep H.E.R.B.I.E. balanced – even while waving, dancing, and interacting – multiple internal sensors measure his precise motion, angle, and orientation 250 times per second, providing constant feedback to a series of rollers that constantly adjust his position to keep him upright. This gives H.E.R.B.I.E. his dynamic, lifelike motion that feels straight out of the film.

Full of Personality

H.E.R.B.I.E.’s personality shines through his expressive and iconic face, comprised of tape reels for his eyes and capstans for his mouth. H.E.R.B.I.E.’s voice actor Matthew Wood even worked with Imagineers to record new phrases and conversation starters (including singing Happy Birthday!), to help H.E.R.B.I.E. prepare for his time in Tomorrowland, and all the guests he’ll meet during his visit.

Look closely and you’ll also spot custom decals and stickers on his body, replicating details straight from the film. That’s apparent when it comes to the attention to detail in our characters. H.E.R.B.I.E.’s surface finishes, custom animations and dedicated sounds are unmatched.

Fantastic Fun in Tomorrowland

Guests can find H.E.R.B.I.E. in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, where he is making appearances alongside members of The Fantastic Four for a limited time. In fact, the first family’s park appearance brings everything full circle as it comes to the relationship between our parks and our studios.

Earlier this year at SXSW in Austin, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, discussed his love for the “mid-century, retro-futuristic” design of Tomorrowland, even sharing that it served as inspiration for the world and artistic style in the film. Meaning, it’s only fitting to bring these beloved characters to life in Tomorrowland!

In addition to meeting the family for a limited time, the façade of Space Mountain will light up each evening with dazzling projection effects inspired by their cosmic adventures. Joined by their families for a day of fun at Disneyland Resort, the honorees surrounded the flagpole in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A., hands proudly held over their hearts, as a voiceover paid tribute to “their incredible courage and immense sacrifice while defending freedom.” After the meaningful ceremony, they were each gifted an American flag placed inside a shadow box in gratitude for their service to our nation.

Get ready to meet the Chainsaw Clownz, a demented troupe of evil jesters armed with the loudest, most bone-rattling weapon of all: chainsaws.

The reveal came via the official Halloween Horror Nights Instagram account, featuring an ominous logo — a grinning clown skull with blood-red curls, a round red nose, and two roaring chainsaws crossed behind it. The caption didn’t pull any punches, declaring: “A lot of people are terrified of clowns. Well, we’ve decided to give chainsaws to an entire troupe of evil clowns. You’re welcome.”

Halloween Horror Nights 34 is just weeks away, and Universal has just unveiled a massive lineup of new merchandise collections that will have horror fans reaching for their wallets faster than you can say “boo.” From video game apocalypses to slashers, creepy animatronics, and twisted clowns, this year’s merch covers every fright fan’s fandom, and it’s all dropping on both coasts.

Universal Orlando Shares First Look at Latest Halloween Horror Nights Merch

Fallout Merchandise
For the first time ever, the world of Fallout will come to life in a haunted house, and the merch is as Wasteland-ready as you’d expect. The collection includes a blue-and-yellow Vault-Tec backpack, matching cap, collectible figure, lanyard, glassware, and even a water bottle bag — all perfect for surviving the nuclear nightmares ahead. The house itself is inspired by the first season of the Fallout TV show, sending guests into Vault 33 alongside Lucy MacLean before unleashing them into the dangerous Wasteland to dodge Raiders, Scavengers, and some very large RAD Roaches.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Merchandise
Freddy Fazbear and friends are back — this time in the form of a haunted house and a killer merch lineup. Fans can grab a bomber jacket, snapback, plush character headbands, and more, all inspired by the retro-meets-creepy aesthetic of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Just like in the 2023 Blumhouse hit film, the house will have guests playing night security while fleeing from Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and the ghosts in the machines.

Hockey masks aren’t just for the house — they’re the centerpiece of the new Jason UN1V3RSE merch collection. Expect hockey jerseys, t-shirts, pins, mugs, and more, all honoring the iconic slasher now headlining his own HHN house. This reimagined take on the “Friday the 13th” legend was announced (appropriately) on Friday, June 13.

Terrifier Merchandise
If gore is your game, Terrifier merch delivers in spades. The sadistic Art the Clown grins from t-shirts, sweaters, masks, backpacks, art prints, and even a blood-red popcorn bucket. Shot glasses, hats, and other items round out the lineup. The house promises to immerse guests in all three of Damien Leone’s Terrifier films, complete with Art’s “gleefully grotesque handiwork” and enough twisted funhouse horrors to haunt your nightmares.

WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks Merchandise
The eerie Firefly Funhouse vibes make their way into the Wyatt Sicks house — and the merch — with statement pieces like a “Let Us In” fanny pack, a dark and moody snapback, collectible pins, and a long sleeve tee. Guests entering the house will step into the demented worlds of Uncle Howdy, Abby the Witch, Mercy the Buzzard, Rambling Rabbit, and Huskus the Pig.

Finally, the event’s signature collection ties into the creepy conservatory aesthetic of HHN 34. Expect dark, botanical-meets-macabre designs across apparel and accessories that embody this year’s haunting vibe.

First Original House Announced for Halloween Horror Nights

Where and When to Buy
In Orlando, all of these collections will hit shelves starting August 26 with the opening of this year’s Tribute Store — themed to the abandoned Museum of Antiquities — which will take over Sahara Traders and the nearby arcade in the New York area of Universal Studios Florida. Halloween Horror Nights 34 runs on select nights from August 29 through November 2.

On the West Coast, the merch will be available starting August 22 at the Universal Studios Store, Jurassic Outfitters, and Production Central inside Universal Studios Hollywood, as well as at the Universal Studios Store and Production Central in CityWalk. HHN Hollywood runs from September 4 through November 3.

Between this new wave of merch and the already-released collections for Lil’ Boo, Five Nights at Freddy’s, WWE Wyatt Sicks, and Mel’s Die-In, HHN 34 is shaping up to be one of the most merch-heavy years yet. The real question is… how big is your spooky shopping budget?

The Beak and Barrel officially sets sail on Friday, August 29, 2025, and will operate during regular park hours as well as during after-hours events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This swashbuckling new watering hole takes over the former Pirates League space, which closed in 2020, and transforms it into a cozy hideaway dripping in pirate charm.

Here’s how reservations will work for the holiday party: Disney Resort hotel guests can snag their spots beginning September 3, with booking available for their entire length of stay (up to 10 nights) up to 60 days out. All other guests will get their shot starting September 8.

Inside, guests will have 45 minutes to sip and snack, just like at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The bar’s central gathering spot, “The Mess,” is overseen by Rummy — a colorful parrot and first mate to Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn.
