The Disneyland Paris attraction Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy is closing this fall for a major refurbishment. The ride, located at Walt Disney Studios Park, will get significant updates to its queue and the ride experience itself, including a permanent switch to 2D projections.
When the attraction reopens in 2026, guests will find a newly enhanced queue featuring a Parisian artist’s studio. The concept art shows a space with canvases, paint splatters, and other artistic details, including a fruit basket that may attract the local rats.
Once on the ride, new props, enhanced projections, and larger-than-life set pieces will be added to give the experience “extra flavor” and further immerse guests in the world of Remy.
One of the most notable changes is the permanent move from 3D to 2D projections. The refurbishment will involve a complete modernization of the ride’s technical equipment, including replacing all current video projectors with new, state-of-the-art models. This upgrade is intended to improve visual quality and will mean the attraction’s media will now be permanently shown in 2D.
The Ratatouille attraction is expected to reopen sometime in 2026.
Universal Orlando Introduces “Deathly Afraid” Necklace for Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando is legendary for its bone-chilling scares, but now there’s an option for guests who’d rather keep the creepy encounters to a minimum. Beginning this year, the event is offering a new upcharge accessory called the Deathly Afraid necklace, designed for visitors who want a toned-down scare experience in certain areas of the park.
The necklace, priced at $20 plus tax, acts as a signal to scareactors in common areas and scare zones that the wearer would prefer less direct interaction. While it won’t eliminate all the frights—the sights/sounds of the scare zones will still be there and the experience in the haunted houses remains unchanged—it should help those who want to enjoy the event’s atmosphere without constantly being singled out by performers.
Universal is careful to note that the Deathly Afraid necklace does not guarantee a scare-free experience, but it should make navigating scare zones a bit more comfortable for guests who love the food, shows, and vibes of HHN without all the jump scares.
“Imagineer That!” Reboot Brings Back Tom Morrow 2.0
Paging Mr. Morrow… Mr. Tom Morrow 2.0, that is! Disney has officially rebooted the fan-favorite mini-matronic host for a brand-new series of Imagineer That! and he’s ready to roll back into our lives with his signature curiosity, quick wit, and plenty of corny puns.
If you grew up in the early 2000s, you might remember watching Tom on Disney Channel as he peeked behind the curtain of Walt Disney Imagineering, uncovering the science, storytelling, and tech wizardry that make Disney attractions possible. For EPCOT fans, Tom was also a beloved Innoventions resident until 2007, when he retired to “recharge” at Imagineering’s Glendale headquarters.
Now, in 2025, Tom’s back online with an upgraded look, refurbished ride vehicle, and even more charm than before. Imagineers gave him a full system refresh to help him connect with a new generation of Disney dreamers while still keeping that nostalgic flair.
The rebooted Imagineer That! will once again spotlight the creative minds of Disney Experiences, with Tom Morrow 2.0 acting as your inquisitive guide. Expect him to ask the questions you’ve always wondered (and a few you haven’t thought of yet), crack plenty of dad-level puns, and point out fun hidden details along the way. Fans should also keep a sharp eye on the background of each episode—because Imagineers are known for slipping in Easter eggs.
The first new episode is already live, with more episodes to follow. The next installment is set to drop on September 15, and you can catch the series on Disney Experiences’ YouTube and Instagram channels, as well as the Disney Parks Blog.
Spaceship Earth Temporarily Closes for Refurbishment at EPCOT
EPCOT’s most iconic attraction is taking a brief pause in history. As of August 25, 2025, Spaceship Earth has officially closed for a previously announced refurbishment, with Disney stating it will reopen “later this year.” While the attraction is listed as unavailable through at least October 24, no firm reopening date has been shared.
Guests visiting the park will notice rolling planters blocking the entrance of the beloved geodesic sphere. According to permits filed in July, this refurbishment is for “general construction,” meaning the work is expected to focus on routine maintenance rather than any major storyline or scene changes. Earlier this month, crews also began refreshing some of the exterior panels on the backside of Spaceship Earth.
The ride’s closure does not affect EPCOT’s new Spaceship Earth–inspired bar, GEO-82, which remains open during the refurbishment. So while you can’t time-travel through the history of human communication, you can still sip cocktails under the glow of the giant sphere.
Spaceship Earth has been at the heart of EPCOT since opening day on October 1, 1982. The Omnimover attraction guides guests from the earliest cave paintings to the age of computers and the internet, celebrating how humans have always found ways to connect. Over the years, the ride has seen several overhauls and script updates. A much larger transformation was planned for 2020 but was ultimately delayed and potentially canceled, leaving fans wondering if a full reimagining might still be in the cards someday.

Duffy Month also brings the return of the daily show, “Enjoying the Moon with Duffy and Friends.” The special edition of the show incorporating Shanghai Opera elements will take place every Sunday starting September 7 and throughout the month.
In collaboration with the Shanghai Huju Opera Theatre, this special edition show will feature a performance of the Duffy Month theme song, “Let’s Get Together,” in front of the Enchanted Storybook Castle.
Limited-Time Duffy and Friends Treats
You can also savor limited time treats during this special month, from Osmanthus Mini Dumpling Crepe with Strawberry Ice Cream and Minnie Mouse Osmanthus Muffin at CookieAnn Bakery Café to the osmanthus-flavored gelato and ice cream at Il Paperino.
The fan-favorite Duffy and Friends Themed Afternoon Tea at the Royal Banquet Hall and the Autumn Season Brunch at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel’s Lumière’s Kitchen will also be filled with a selection of treats and seasonal flavors.
New Duffy and Friends Merch to Celebrate
For those wanting to wear all things floral, two new merchandise collections are coming to Shanghai Disney Resort.
Mickey and Friends Garden Stroll Collection will offer plush and plush keychains of Mickey and Friends wearing elegant outfits featuring blossoms, butterflies, and persimmons, or you can buy your very own floral-themed headband adorned with laces, ribbons and pearls.

A Royal Celebration: Disney Princess Concert to Mark 70 Years of Disneyland This Friday
Today marks the start of World Princess Week, and Disney is celebrating with a variety of new offerings. A highlight is a spectacular princess concert performance at Disneyland Park, featuring the voices of some of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ most beloved princesses. The celebration also includes a new musical brand spot and a ride-along video with a Disney Legend. World Princess Week honors the incredible legacy of these princesses and their special connection with fans of all ages around the world.
Fans can enjoy a magical performance during the Disney Princess Concert: Celebrating 70 Years of Disneyland.
