The opening night of the 2025 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Friday, November 7, is officially sold out. This is the first event of the holiday season at Magic Kingdom to reach capacity.

christmas

Once again, the opening night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has proven to be the most popular date, selling out despite its higher price point of $199. It’s a familiar trend, as many guests want to be the first to experience the holiday magic at Magic Kingdom.

With tickets for November 7, 2025, already sold out, all other party dates from November 10 through December 21 remain available. As every night is expected to sell out, crowd levels should be consistently high throughout the season, with no single night being significantly busier or quieter than the others.

This follows the trend from the 2024 season. The opening night on November 8, 2024, was the first to sell out on September 3, followed by November 11, which sold out on October 22.

This year’s party sees returning favorites, including:

  • Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
  • Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
  • Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show
  • Frozen Holiday Surprise at Cinderella Castle
  • Seasonal overlays like Jingle Cruise and holiday versions of Space Mountain and Mad Tea Party
  • Complimentary cookies and cocoa

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Merchandise Now on Sale for Everyone

You no longer have to wait for the party to get your spooky swag! Two popular Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party merchandise items are now for sale for all guests at Magic Kingdom.

During the Halloween season, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party merchandise is usually exclusive to party guests. However, it’s common for these items to be made available to all park visitors later on. This week, we spotted the party’s exclusive Loungefly bag and a special ornament for sale at the Emporium, even before the party began.

The Loungefly bag is a unique convertible design, allowing it to be worn as either a backpack or a crossbody. It’s circular and features Mickey Mouse in front of a spooky, Halloween-themed Cinderella Castle.

Add a touch of spooky fun to your tree with the new ornament! It features the classic ballroom ghosts from The Haunted Mansion, gracefully dancing beneath a “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2025” plaque.

Special MagicBand Tapstile Effects Disappear from Disney World

If you’ve noticed your MagicBand entry at Walt Disney World feeling a little less magical lately, you’re not alone. The special lighting and sound effects that once greeted Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and even select MagicBand designs have mysteriously vanished from entrance tapstiles across the parks.

Special Magic Band Entrance Effects Missing from Walt Disney World

Since November 2021, Passholders were treated to a flash of purple and yellow lights each time they tapped into a park. DVC Members got an extra touch of pixie dust with a signature purple glow and a warm “Welcome Home” sound effect. Even some themed MagicBands would unlock unique lighting and sounds, adding a fun little surprise to the start of the day.

But for the past several days, all of those special touches have gone dark. The Mickey icon now only lights up in the standard green with no fanfare, regardless of band style, Passholder status, or DVC membership. Guests have reported the change at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and so far, there’s no sign of the effects returning.

In the past, Disney would sometimes disable the effects early in the day to help prevent bottlenecks at park entrances. This time, however, they appear to be gone completely, with no explanation as to whether this is a temporary glitch, a system update, or a permanent change.

For now, guests will still see the familiar green glow when tapping in, but without the little extra magic that made the experience feel personal. Here’s hoping this is just a technical hiccup and not the end of a fun tradition for Passholders and DVC Members.

Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated as more details emerge about the fate of these tapstile effects.
