The walls have moved and the bricks are coming down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as Muppets Courtyard continues its transformation into Monstropolis. Construction walls now stretch several feet farther into Grand Avenue, edging into the roadway and sidewalk space, though there is still plenty of room for guests heading between Star Tours and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The biggest change is happening above the former entrance to MuppetVision 3D. Where there were once just a few missing patches, entire sections of brick façade have now been stripped away across several yards of the building. Crews in lifts were actively removing bricks during the latest update, and green markings on the structure appear to outline where more demolition is planned.

Concept art for the upcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed land shows the building keeping a brick finish overall, but with a bold new marquee taking center stage. The current brick removal likely clears the way for that oversized sign that will welcome guests straight into the scream-powered city of Monstropolis.

Up top, the large boxy structures on the theater roof are also being dismantled. One appears to be fully removed, while the other has been stripped down to its support frame as crews continue the teardown. Down on the street, even the gelato stand has relocated, now parked across from Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, thanks to the construction walls pushing outward.

While it is tough for longtime fans to watch the MuppetVision façade slowly disappear, the Muppets are not leaving the park entirely. They are set to take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster this summer, giving Kermit and friends a brand-new stage. Meanwhile, Monstropolis is inching closer to reality, one brick at a time.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach has reopened at Walt Disney World Resort as of February 15, 2026, just as Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon heads into its seasonal refurbishment. If you have been craving chairlift views and a near-vertical plunge down Summit Plummet, now is your time to melt into the action.

Blizzard Beach is currently welcoming guests daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with hours subject to weather adjustments. The park’s reopening keeps at least one water park option available for guests looking to splash between park days, even while Typhoon Lagoon temporarily closes its gates. The tropical storms may be calming for now, but the snow-capped slopes are back in business.

The good news for summer planners is that this water park swap is only temporary. Typhoon Lagoon is expected to reopen in time for Cool Kids’ Summer, running May 26 through September 8, when both water parks will operate simultaneously. That window also marks the return of the free water park visit perk for Disney Resort hotel guests on their check-in day, making it a splashy way to kick off a vacation.

If you are eyeing the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass, it remains valid at Blizzard Beach through May 9, 2026, with blockout dates from March 28 through April 5. It is officially the end of an era in DinoLand U.S.A. Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Aladar Iguanodon statue that once guarded the entrance to DINOSAUR has vanished into extinction and the iconic Dino-Sue T. rex cast has been removed from her pedestal. Fresh aerial photos from bioreconstruct show the entire forecourt stripped down to bare earth, with construction tracks carving through what used to be one of the park’s most prehistoric photo ops.

The space in front of the former DINOSAUR attraction is now an open dirt pad buzzing with heavy equipment. While the building façade and signage are still standing for now, the entrance area has been completely cleared to make way for the upcoming Indiana Jones Adventure. For longtime fans, it is a bittersweet sight. Dino-Sue stood tall for decades as a nod to the real Tyrannosaurus rex fossil discovered in the 1990s, and Aladar’s dramatic water feature gave the attraction a cinematic welcome worthy of its Dinosaur roots.

Love is in the Air: Meet Rare Disney Couples at EPCOT This Weekend!

There’s no better place to celebrate love than at Walt Disney World! Whether you’re on a romantic date or enjoying a “solo-date” weekend, the parks are currently bursting with magic. Our first stop was the Germany pavilion, where we found Snow White and her Prince. The pair were meeting guests right in front of the iconic wishing well—the very spot where Snow White once wished for her true love to find her.

To make the moment even more picture-perfect, a beautiful canvas of their legendary film scene was on display nearby. It certainly makes you wonder: maybe wishing on a well really does work? It might be time to take a page out of Snow White’s book.

Once Upon a Dream in France

Next, we headed toward the France pavilion, where Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip were greeting admirers. We caught them at the front of the pavilion (coming from the Morocco side), looking absolutely radiant.

Seeing them together made us feel like we walked right into a fairy tale. Is it possible to meet your true love “once upon a dream,” or are we just dreaming? Either way, they looked adorable together in the afternoon sun!

A Tale as Old as Time

Venturing deeper into France, near the entrance to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, we found one of the most popular pairs of the weekend: Belle and the Beast.

This iconic duo had quite the crowd—it felt like they had a whole scene of their own! It was heartwarming to see the Beast out and about, celebrating with Belle.

Imagineers Sign Final Steel Beam for Encanto Attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The magic is literally rising from the ground at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as Walt Disney Imagineering celebrates a major construction milestone for the upcoming Encanto attraction in the new Tropical Americas land.

Walt Disney Imagineering recently shared a look at a beam signing ceremony for the final steel beam of the Encanto show building, a long-standing construction tradition where Cast Members and Imagineers leave their signatures on a beam before it is hoisted into place. Think of it as a backstage autograph book… but make it structural.

The first vertical steel beam for the attraction went up in early December, and if this final piece is installed in the coming days, that means the main steel frame for the building came together in just over 10 weeks. For a project of this scale, that is some seriously swift progress in the former DinoLand U.S.A. footprint.

This new Encanto attraction will take guests inside the Casita, picking up with Antonio just after he receives his magical gift of communicating with animals. His room has transformed into a lush rainforest, and guests will explore alongside him in a vibrant, animal-filled environment inspired by the world of the film. Concept art teases colorful Spanish-style architecture surrounded by blooming greenery, with lanterns, exotic birds, and familiar Madrigal family members popping up along the journey.

Plans for an Encanto attraction as part of the Tropical Americas reimagining were first announced at Destination D23 in September 2023, with additional confirmation and details shared during the 2024 D23 Expo. Now, with vertical construction moving at a steady pace, this once-conceptual dream is becoming a very real presence on the Animal Kingdom skyline.

Disney Sends Cease and Desist to ByteDance Over Alleged AI Use of Star Wars, Marvel, and More

The Force is strong with Disney’s legal team this week.

According to a report from Axios, The Walt Disney Company has sent a cease and desist letter to ByteDance over its newly launched Seedance 2.0 AI service, accusing the company of using Disney’s copyrighted characters without permission.

The letter reportedly claims that Seedance was pre-packaged “with a pirated library of Disney’s copyrighted characters from Star Wars, Marvel, and other Disney franchises, as if Disney’s coveted intellectual property were free public domain clip art.” That is not exactly a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boost for relations between the two companies.

Among the characters allegedly appearing in Seedance videos were Spider-Man, Darth Vader, Grogu from Star Wars, and even Peter Griffin from Family Guy. Disney’s outside attorney, David Singer, called the situation a “virtual smash-and-grab” of Disney’s intellectual property and described the alleged infringement as willful and pervasive. According to the report, Disney believes the issue could be far more widespread than what has already surfaced, despite Seedance 2.0 launching just days ago on February 12, 2026.

The Motion Picture Association and the Human Artistry Campaign have also weighed in, with the latter urging authorities to use every legal tool available to stop what they described as wholesale theft.

This is not the first time Disney has flexed its legal muscle over AI-generated content. In September 2025, Disney sent a warning to Character.AI over AI chatbots using its characters. A cease and desist was also sent to Google regarding Gemini’s use of Disney IP. At the same time, Disney has carved out a very controlled lane for AI collaboration through its partnership with OpenAI’s Sora.

During a recent investor call, CEO Bob Iger discussed the three-year licensing agreement with OpenAI. Under that deal, users can generate 30-second videos featuring roughly 250 Disney characters, with clear limitations including no human faces or voices. Characters available through Sora include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Lilo, Stitch, Ariel, Belle, Simba, Baymax, and animated or illustrated versions of Marvel and Lucasfilm favorites like Black Panther, Iron Man, Darth Vader, and Yoda.

In other words, Disney is not anti-AI. It is very much anti-anyone-using-our-characters-without-permission.

As AI tools continue to evolve at hyperspeed, this latest move signals that Disney intends to guard its vault with the same vigilance it uses to protect Cinderella Castle. Whether this dispute escalates into a larger legal battle remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the House of Mouse does not play when it comes to its intellectual property.

No Boysenberry Festival is complete without a boysenberry pie-eating contest, and this year has a twist. The Boysen Bear’s Pie Kitchen Games in Calico Park invites guests to help thwart those sneaky coyote pups, Moxie and Brawny, from stealing all the pies! Once they save the day, they can celebrate on the Calico Mine Stage at the Boysen Bear’s Pie Eating Contest. The adventures continue at the newly renovated Birdcage Theatre with The Great Bank Robbery, an exciting show that will have the audience cheering the hero and booing the villain.

Knott’s Preserved returns and will take guests on a musical journey from the little ghost town of Calico to the Seaside Boardwalk of the Roaring ’20s to commemorate the park’s heritage. Also returning is Old MacDonald’s Barn, a tribute to one of the farm’s original attractions. Guests of all ages can enjoy the cutest critters on the farm, including horses, goats and other furry friends. At the History of the Boysenberry Museum at Town Hall, guests can learn all about the little berry that had a big impact on the Knott family and Southern California.

In the streets of Ghost Town, the yearly Boysenberry Festival Crafts Fair will be back in full swing with unique boysenberry-inspired artisan products from over two dozen local craft vendors. Also, returning to The Factory Store, celebrate all things Boysenberry with fan favorite the “Tied Up in Knott’s” art show featuring pieces by the Knott’s community of artists.
