Baking Spirits Bright with the New Hot Cocoa Flight at EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays
If EPCOT was trying to sweet-talk us this year, mission accomplished because Holiday Sweets and Treats just rolled out one of the cutest, coziest, most sip-tacular new offerings of the 2025 Festival of the Holidays. And yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds. Say hello to the Festive Flight featuring Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s, a trio of holiday-themed cocoas that basically wrap your taste buds in a warm fuzzy sweater.
This $6.50 flight serves up three mini cups of holiday cheer: Christmas Sugar Cookie Hot Cocoa, Gingerbread Hot Cocoa, and Cookie Butter Hot Cocoa. It’s the kind of lineup that makes you want to carol about cocoa, and we’re not even sorry about it.
First up is the Christmas Sugar Cookie Hot Cocoa, topped with whipped cream and festive sprinkles. This one tastes like those nostalgic sugar cookies that mysteriously disappear from your holiday dessert table every year. Sweet, creamy, and just a little magical, it instantly puts you in that “I swear I’ve been good this year” mood.Red Velvet Cookie Funnel Cake Debuts at EPCOT’s 2025 Festival of the Holidays
Then comes the Gingerbread Hot Cocoa, complete with a whipped-cream mountain and an adorable little gingerbread garnish. Gingerbread lovers, rejoice. This thing brings bold gingerbread energy. We’re talking full-on cookie-spice, holiday-market vibes. If gingerbread isn’t your thing, you may want to take a tiny sip before committing.
Finally, the unexpected MVP of the trio: the Cookie Butter Hot Cocoa. Topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of speculoos spice, this cup hits you with that warm, cozy, slightly spicy cookie flavor right at the end. It’s not a hot spice, just a flavorful kick that adds depth and makes this one stand out as our favorite of the bunch.
For $6.50, this flight is an easy “yes.” It’s festive, flavorful, and fun, and you can polish off all three without feeling like you just drank an entire gingerbread house. If you’re making the rounds at the festival, we definitely recommend stopping by Holiday Sweets and Treats to warm up with this holiday trio.
Off The Page! Brings Six Animated Icons to Hollywood Studios in 2026
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting ready to turn the page to a whole new chapter in 2026, and this one is bursting right out of the sketchbook. Disney has officially revealed that the all new Magic of Disney Animation experience, opening in late summer 2026, will feature Off The Page!, a vibrant character meet and greet space where animated icons literally leap from their artwork to greet guests. If you’ve ever wished your favorite characters would step out of their concept art and say hello, this is your moment.
This reimagined area is a collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, and it promises six unique meet and greet locations inspired by different departments inside the animation studio. So far, Disney has teased two big names you’ll be able to meet: Mulan, striking a pose beside an oversized storyboard panel fit for a warrior, and Rapunzel, glowing (as always) amid a setting designed around the classic multiplane camera technique. The remaining four characters are still under wraps, and Disney’s keeping that last page of the sketchbook tightly closed for now. But based on what we know, expect some seriously photogenic spaces ready to fill your camera roll.
The whole Magic of Disney Animation makeover is a love letter to the original attraction that opened with the park in 1989. That version gave guests a peek inside the real Disney Feature Animation building, where films like Lilo & Stitch were born. While the animation studio left in 2004 and the attraction closed in 2015, the spirit of creativity is coming back stronger than ever. The new experience will showcase a Sorcerer Mickey hat façade inspired by the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, inviting guests to step into a colorful world of art, imagination, and a little magic.
Animation Courtyard is undergoing a full glow-up to make space for the new experience. The Hollywood Studios archway has already been removed, and Star Wars Launch Bay is officially closed. Over in the neighborhood, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will open earlier in the summer, making 2026 a massive year for the whole area.
We’ll keep following the story as more characters and details drop, but for now, one thing’s clear: Off The Page! is ready to draw a whole new crowd.
If you’ve ever wandered past the Funnel Cake Stand in EPCOT and felt your sweet tooth summon you like a Christmas spirit, brace yourself, because this year’s festival treat is ready to sleigh your taste buds. The 2025 specialty is the brand-new Red Velvet Cookie Funnel Cake, and yes… it’s as over-the-top and holly-jolly as it sounds.
This booth keeps things simple every festival with a one-item menu, but when that one item is a massive, fresh-fried funnel cake dressed to the nines in festive toppings, who needs anything else? This year’s Red Velvet Cookie Funnel Cake is piled high with powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, cream cheese whipped cream, red velvet cookie pieces, mini chocolate chips, and a generous drizzle of chocolate syrup. It’s basically Santa’s dessert wishlist delivered straight to a paper plate.
At $12.50, this thing is a unit — seriously, it’s dense, it’s decadent, and it’s definitely a share-with-a-friend situation unless you’re prepared to jingle all the way to a sugar coma. The funnel cake itself hits that sweet spot of crispy edges and soft, warm interior, and the toppings layer beautifully rather than overwhelming. The ice cream does a great job balancing out the sweetness, and the cream cheese whipped cream adds that perfect tangy richness that makes red velvet feel so iconic.
If you’re working your way around the festival and want something indulgent, photogenic, and totally worth a pit stop, this funnel cake earns a gold star — or at least a glowing Spaceship Earth projection.
Here’s your sweet reminder: this one’s only around for the 2025 Festival of the Holidays, so catch it before it disappears like holiday magic.
Disney Vacation Club Introduces New $500 Resale Transfer Fee Beginning January 2026
Disney Vacation Club Members, grab your calculators and maybe a comforting Mickey-shaped snack, because DVC has quietly rolled out a change that will definitely make waves in the resale world. Starting January 1, 2026, a new $500 Contract Administration Fee will be applied to all resale contract closings. Yep, even if you were hoping to slip in under the radar like Figment looking for snacks, the new fee is now official.
According to updated language on the Disney Vacation Club website, the fee is tied to the administrative side of processing resale contracts. Disney states that every resale agreement must include key details about pricing, closing dates, dues, commissions, and signatures. Now, beginning in 2026, DVC Management will add the $500 CAF to finalize those contracts. Whether you’re buying or selling, it’s one more line item joining the ever-growing stack of DVC costs.
This comes right on the heels of the 2026 annual dues reveal, which saw increases ranging from 3 percent up to 9 percent across resorts. Between dues hikes and now the resale transfer fee, 2026 is shaping up to be a spendy year to be a DVC Member. Consider it the financial version of trying to snag a Boarding Group during holiday crowds.
If you’re still dreaming of joining the DVC family without paying full Disney-developer pricing, resale remains one of the best ways to save big. Many Members shave off 40 percent or more compared to direct purchases, and marketplaces like DVC Resale Market continue to offer strong savings even with this new fee in the mix.
For now, if you’re planning to make a move in the resale market, you may want to act before January 1 to avoid the extra $500. Otherwise, budget accordingly, grab your favorite blue DVC-logo mug, and brace for a 2026 that seems determined to keep accountants very, very busy.
Disney’s CEO Search Heats Up as the Post-Iger Era Comes Into Focus
The most-watched casting call in Hollywood right now isn’t for a Marvel reboot or a new Star Wars series. It’s the unofficial audition to succeed Bob Iger as CEO of The Walt Disney Company, and according to The Wall Street Journal, the script is finally starting to take shape. After years of plot twists, delayed retirements and more leadership reshuffling than a Haunted Mansion stretching room, Disney is working hard to deliver a smoother, drama-free transition this time around.
Iger’s track record with succession has all the stability of a Tower of Terror drop sequence. After taking over in 2005, he pushed retirement dates back five times and cycled through several would-be successors before ultimately stepping down in 2020. Bob Chapek took the helm just as the pandemic hit, only for Iger to return in a shocking 2022 reversal. Now, with Iger’s contract set to expire next December, Disney’s board says it will announce his successor in early 2026, and this time they’re determined to keep the fireworks to EPCOT, not the executive suite.
At the top of the contender list are two internal heavyweights: Disney Experiences chair Josh D’Amaro and Disney Entertainment co-chair Dana Walden. The pair reportedly met with the board this summer in Orlando to pitch their visions for a post-Iger Disney. Insiders believe whichever executive is chosen will spend time working shoulder-to-shoulder with Iger before officially assuming the role, offering the smoothest handoff the company has seen in decades.
Disney is also locking down the rest of its leadership structure to avoid a mass exodus when the new CEO is crowned. The company recently extended contracts for several key executives, including its CFO, general counsel, HR chief and communications lead, stretching into 2027 through 2029. Other major leaders are also in extension talks as the board tries to preserve continuity while steering into one of the most pivotal chapters in Disney history.
If you follow the fan chatter, D’Amaro is the name that pops up like Tinker Bell during Happily Ever After. As the charismatic face of Disney’s parks, cruise ships, consumer products and games, he’s beloved by Cast Members and fans alike. Supporters call him approachable, analytically sharp, and uniquely comfortable bridging the worlds of theme parks and Hollywood creatives. Under his leadership, the parks have become Disney’s strongest business segment, and he’s been the champion behind Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games and the growing role of gaming within the company. His vision reportedly leans heavily into expanding interactive tech and gaming across creative development.
Walden, meanwhile, brings a powerhouse creative resume that rivals any Disney princess backstory. She joined the company when Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019 and has since become one of its most respected entertainment leaders. With streaming profitability improving and multiple high-profile content wins under her belt, Walden is backed by those who believe Disney’s future must begin with revitalizing its creative pipeline. She has navigated tough negotiations, managed talent relationships and quietly steadied the entertainment division through stormy seas. Her fans argue that nothing else at Disney works unless the movies and shows work first.
Other major Disney players appear to be out of the running. Longtime film chief Alan Bergman isn’t seen as a likely successor, and ESPN head Jimmy Pitaro has reportedly expressed that he’s already in his dream role, acknowledging that he lacks experience in parks and scripted content.
While outside candidates have been floated, including Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson, most insiders think the next Disney chief will come from within. The board hasn’t ruled out the idea of co-CEOs, though the company has never gone that route before. Disney has, however, historically paired a CEO with a powerful deputy, so a two-leader structure in everything but title isn’t off the table.
Whoever ultimately steps into Mickey’s biggest pair of shoes inherits a to-do list longer than Main Street on a Christmas morning. The next CEO must manage Disney’s $60 billion theme-park expansion, rebuild and re-energize key film brands like Marvel, strengthen Disney’s streaming ecosystem against fierce competition, and navigate the continuing collapse of traditional TV revenue as cord-cutting accelerates. It will take a little faith, trust,t and quite a lot of strategic pixie dust to guide Disney into its next era.
As the countdown to Iger’s exit continues, every executive handshake, park appearance, and conference comment is being watched like it’s a D23 teaser trailer. The board may be keeping quiet, but behind the scenes, the biggest leadership story in entertainment is already in motion.
