A New Single-Attraction Express Pass Option Is Being Rolled Out at Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Orlando Resort is quietly experimenting with a brand-new way to skip the lines at some fan-favorite attractions without needing to purchase a full Express Pass! Guests can now purchase Universal Express Single Attraction Access for select rides directly in the Universal Orlando Resort app under the Special Offers section.
This limited-time option allows guests to pay a smaller fee to bypass the regular queue at one specific attraction instead of committing to a full Express Pass upgrade for the day. Pricing currently sits at $24.99 per ride for the two attractions available, with availability shown in-app and valid only for same-day use.
At this time, the feature appears to be available for two attractions:
Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida
Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Universal’s Islands of Adventure
According to the app, these offers are first-come, first-served with limited capacity, meaning quantities will likely sell out early in the day. QR codes promoting the offer have also begun appearing outside eligible attractions, allowing guests to scan and purchase right from their phones.
Universal has not yet announced if or when this feature will expand to additional rides, but the move signals a major test in on-demand, ride-specific Express access — potentially offering more flexibility (and affordability) for guests looking to skip a single long wait without splurging on a full Express upgrade.
So far, the feature is day-of only, with no option to pre-purchase in advance, with no word on if the single-day express will be available every day or if they will eventually be made available in advance.
Whether this single-ride Express option becomes a permanent offering remains to be seen, but it’s clear Universal is exploring new ways to help guests “fast-forward to amazing” one ride at a time.
Universal Studios Hollywood Pass Members Can Score a Grinchy New Magnet This November
It’s beginning to look a lot like Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood! Pass Members are getting an early holiday treat this season with an exclusive new collectible magnet featuring everyone’s favorite Christmas curmudgeon — The Grinch himself.
The festive square-shaped magnet shows the Grinch in his Santa suit, slyly holding a red ornament by the hook of his long green fingers against a snowy green background. “Universal Studios Hollywood Pass Member” is printed across the top, giving it that perfect park-exclusive flair.
Pass Members can pick up their free magnet at the Universal Studios Store inside the park throughout November, while supplies last. You’ll need to show your valid Annual or Season Pass to snag one, and it’s limited to one per passholder.
This collectible ties in perfectly with the resort’s upcoming Grinchmas festivities, which transform Universal Plaza into a whimsical winter wonderland full of Whos, hot cocoa, and heartwarming mischief.

Disney’s Next Act: Could Dana Walden and Josh D’Amaro Share the CEO Spotlight?
As the curtain slowly closes on Bob Iger’s legendary tenure, all eyes are on the next act for The Walt Disney Company. With an announcement expected in early 2026, speculation is swirling faster than a Mad Tea Party teacup about who will take the reins—and whether Disney might try a bold (or risky) move: appointing two CEOs instead of one.
According to CNBC, Disney’s board has discussed a potential co-CEO structure featuring Dana Walden and Josh D’Amaro—two top executives with distinctly different strengths. Walden, co-chair of Disney Entertainment, is a Hollywood powerhouse with deep roots in television and film. D’Amaro, the chairman of Disney Experiences, rose through the parks and resorts side, earning major fan credibility for his approachable leadership and connection to Cast Members and guests alike.
On paper, it’s a pairing that could make sense. Walden’s creative instincts and D’Amaro’s operational savvy cover both halves of Disney’s sprawling empire—from studios and streaming to theme parks and cruise ships. The model mirrors Netflix’s successful dual leadership between Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters, which helped the company thrive after founder Reed Hastings stepped aside.
But this is Disney we’re talking about—and if history is any guide, power-sharing in the kingdom isn’t exactly a fairy tale ending.
A Tale as Old as (Corporate) Time Disney’s succession sagas are the stuff of legend. Bob Iger himself has delayed retirement multiple times, returning in 2022 to “steady the ship” after Bob Chapek’s controversial run. During Chapek’s short-lived tenure, Iger’s lingering creative influence created confusion and internal tension—a dynamic critics fear could repeat itself if he remains as executive chairman while two successors try to co-lead.
Unlike Netflix, where Hastings gracefully moved on, Iger’s well-documented tendency to hover could complicate things. He’s widely respected but also known for being hands-on—perhaps too much so for a balanced co-CEO setup.
Adding fuel to the concern is Disney’s famously political culture. With divisions ranging from Pixar to Marvel to ESPN to the parks, the company is more like a federation of kingdoms than a unified monarchy. A co-CEO arrangement could risk internal rivalries, unclear reporting lines, and corporate chaos worthy of a Disney villain.
As one senior media executive told CNBC, “It wouldn’t work for Disney. There would be so much backbiting. That’s how it’s always been there.”
When Two CEOs Don’t Make a Whole Corporate governance experts largely agree: two CEOs often mean no CEO. “When you create two sources of authority in an organization, that’s never good,” said Charles Elson, founding director of the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. While he acknowledges co-CEO structures can sometimes work with a strong tiebreaker—like a controlling founder or chairman—Disney doesn’t have that. Iger, while influential, isn’t a major shareholder, owning less than 1% of Disney’s stock.
So far, the company is staying silent, with a Disney spokesperson declining to comment.
Still, the idea of keeping both Walden and D’Amaro in leadership roles is tempting. Choosing one could risk losing the other to competitors—just as Disney lost Kevin Mayer, its former streaming chief, to TikTok after being passed over in 2020.
For now, the magic question remains: Will Disney double up on leadership, or crown a single successor to carry the torch into its next century?
Whatever the outcome, the company’s next CEO (or CEOs) will inherit not just a sprawling empire—but the monumental task of steering the world’s most beloved entertainment brand through a rapidly changing media landscape.
The only thing more suspenseful than a Marvel post-credits scene might be this corporate cliffhanger.
Aquatica Orlando UnveilsILLUMINATE: First-Ever Nighttime Lantern Festival
This holiday season, Aquatica Orlando will shine brighter than ever with the debut of ILLUMINATE – A Lantern Festival at Aquatica, a brand-new nighttime experience transforming the award-winning water park into a radiant realm of light and imagination. Expanding upon beloved nighttime traditions like AquaGlow, this limited-time event introduces entirely new realms, interactive elements and sensory surprises that set it apart from anything seen before at Aquatica.
Beginning Nov. 8 and running select nights through Jan. 31, 2026, guests are invited to stroll through glowing walkways, discover majestic animal lanterns and explore five immersive realms of light from 6 to 10 p.m. Each realm features vibrant storytelling, interactive surprises, festive bites and photo-ready moments. During this nighttime event, pools and water slides will pause operations so guests can fully enjoy the immersive lantern experience.
“ILLUMINATE is unlike anything we’ve ever done at Aquatica,” said Bradley Gilmour, Park President of Aquatica Orlando. “From glowing mermaids and candy-colored forests to a lantern safari brought to life on our Serengeti Express train, this festival will light up the night in a way that is both completely new and uniquely Aquatica. We can’t wait for families to create glowing holiday memories in a setting that feels worlds away, yet right here in Orlando.”
ILLUMINATE is more than just a feast for the eyes, it’s an experience crafted to engage all five senses. From the glow of towering lanterns and the soundscapes woven into each realm to the scent of cotton candy drifting through Candy Cascade Falls and the warm campfire aroma in S’mores Alley, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to immerse guests fully. Aquatica Orlando’s entertainment, design, and technical teams have gone above and beyond to blend artistry with innovation, ensuring each realm feels alive with wonder, connection and holiday spirit.
Five Realms of Light, One Enchanting Night
ILLUMINATE invites guests to wander through five all-new glowing environments, each with its own story, atmosphere, and lantern creations. Here’s a Breakdown of the Brilliance:
AquaLuma – Legend tells of five animal guardians who first brought light to the waters: Roa the Kiwi, Papa the Spoonbill, Wae Wae the Takahe, Kata the Kookaburra, and Ihu the Gecko. Their glowing footprints, laughter, and starlight guide explorers through arches of shimmer and radiant wildlife that still shine today.
Candy Cascade Falls – A sugary dreamscape where giant gummy bear guardians awaken the forest of sweets, sparking lollipops to sprout and peppermint paths to glow. Every laugh makes the candy sparkle, every step makes the falls flow sweeter, creating a world where joy itself lights the way.
Enchanted Lagoon – Said to be born of a pearl that fell from the moon, this mystical cove is home to a luminous mermaid who keeps watch over the dreams and wishes cast into her waters. Guests may even catch a glimpse of her sea unicorn companion under a crescent moon.
Myst Wood Waters – Deep in a forest where dragonflies taught the light to dance and macaws painted the skies, a Great Tree of Light pulses with energy. Visitors can feel its heartbeat glow as they step on an interactive mat beneath the tree, activating a dazzling light display while lantern birds, bubbles, and color-shifting chameleons bring the forest alive.
Rivers of Discovery – A glowing tribute to the animals that inspire and the parks that protect like SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, and Discovery Cove — this lantern-lit safari celebrates connection, care, and curiosity. From dolphins and flamingos to giraffes and lions, each lantern tells a story of wonder and discovery, a journey illuminated by those who care.
Festive Fun for the Whole Family
In addition to the glowing realms, ILLUMINATE will feature:
Kiwi Santa Meet & Greet – A whimsical summer-styled Santa inspired by New Zealand traditions, perfect for festive family photos.
Kiddie Alley Express – The Mini Serengeti Express train invites the young and young at heart to ride through a lantern safari of lions, zebras, and giraffes.
Lantern Craft Zone – Families can take part in a magical “wishing tree” experience. Guests will write a wish on a scroll, seal it in a decorative vial, and receive a small lantern to “release their wish” into the water.
S’more Stations & More Holiday Fun – Bring cozy holiday vibes to life by taking part in meet-and-greets with Kiwi (tropical) Santa and his merry elves or writing a letter to Santa at the craft station (included with admission). Don’t forget classic s’mores are available for purchase or can be redeemed with event lanyards.
Limited-Time Food & Beverage Offerings Culinary creativity meets holiday cheer with exclusive menu items available only during ILLUMINATE. Guests can indulge in treats such as Brisket Mac & Cheese, Apple Cider Churros, Pork Belly Tacos, S’mores Pizza, and festive sips like the Cotton Candy Margarita or a non-alcoholic Christmas Tree Punch.
Light Up the Night with Sweet Savings For a limited time, guests can snag ILLUMINATE tickets for as low as $29.99 during this special introductory offer. Foodies can take their experience to the next level with a Lantern Lanyard (available in five- or 10-punch options), giving them the flexibility to taste their way across the event while enjoying big savings. Pass Members can take advantage of exclusive discounts on admission and food lanyards. Standard Pass Member parking rules apply.

Zoom to the Future: Jim Carrey Confirmed for Live-Action Jetsons Movie
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Carrey is currently in talks to star in a live-action film adaptation of the classic cartoon series, The Jetsons. The movie is set to be directed by Jurassic World filmmaker Colin Trevorrow, who is also in talks to co-write the script alongside Joe Epstein.
The Jetsons debuted in 1962 as a futuristic counterpart to the prehistoric comedy The Flintstones. The series, created by legendary animators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, initially ran for only one season of 24 episodes. However, the cartoon was successfully revived in the 1980s for two additional seasons, bringing the total number of installments to 75. The show is perhaps best remembered for its catchy theme song.
While this new project will mark the first live-action film based on the property, there has been one animated movie: Jetsons: The Movie was released in theaters in 1990, grossing approximately $20 million.
The series centered on the domestic adventures of a family living in the far future, complete with a futuristic utopia of flying cars, conveyor belt floors, and robot maids. George O’Hanlon notably voiced the patriarch, George Jetson, in both the original 1960s episodes and the 1980s revival.
The Jetsons belongs to a bygone era when people genuinely believed technology would simplify life and create a future that was fundamentally optimistic. Today, we’re a little more cynical, but that disconnect might be exactly what makes for a good movie. This clash of wholesomeness against modern reality is what made The Brady Bunch Movie so effective—the juxtaposition of an out-of-time, ultra-wholesome family against the grungier 1990s was comedic gold. Perhaps the 21st-century’s take on the Jetsons’ dazzling, but naive, future could lead to some excellent, dark comedy.
They’re Back! Pixar Unveils First Look at Buzz and Woody for Toy Story 5
Pixar recently released the first official look at everyone’s favorite sheriff and space ranger—Woody and Buzz Lightyear—for the highly anticipated film, Toy Story 5.
The first official images from Pixar show Woody and Buzz Lightyear standing against a cloud-filled, blue backdrop, reminiscent of Andy’s classic bedroom wallpaper. While both characters look largely unchanged, there are a couple of small, notable differences following the events of Toy Story 4.
First, Woody is no longer wearing his sheriff’s badge, having passed it on to Jessie. Second, Buzz now sports a new gold star sticker covering the latter half of the “Lightyear” logo on his chest. These appear to be the only major changes to the characters in this first look.
Another piece of concept art shared on the Disney Movies website offers a glimpse of a scene featuring more than one Buzz Lightyear. The accompanying description explains:
“The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and in the case of Buzz Lightyear, “back” is an understatement. Fifty commemorative Buzz Lightyear action figures, stuck in toy mode, are searching for Star Command and they just might make considerable problems for everybody.”
The Disney Movies website also released a second piece of concept art showing Jessie, Buzz, and Bullseye alongside a digital tablet character with frog characteristics. This specific piece of artwork was shared without an accompanying description for context.
In Toy Story 5, the beloved toys are back for a new adventure: Toy meets Tech. The roles of Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang are challenged when they are introduced to the objects of modern kids’ obsession—electronics! The film is directed by Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris, and produced by Jessica Choi. Mark your calendars: Toy Story 5 hits theaters on June 19, 2026.
