Cutting-Edge Technology Powers the Magic

New Cookie Lineup and Treat Locations Announced for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2025

Guests attending the 2025 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will once again be treated to complimentary holiday snacks across Magic Kingdom, but this year’s lineup features several new additions and changes.

Disney has introduced a new selection of cookies and treats for the event. In a departure from recent seasons, each complimentary item will be available at a specific, designated location within the park.

The lineup still appears to be supplied by Cheryl’s Cookies, the event’s vendor for the last few years, and includes a mix of new flavors alongside a couple of returning favorites. These treats are included with event admission and can be picked up at multiple stations throughout the party.

This year’s offerings move away from the previous lineup, introducing a more varied mix of flavors. Notably, the new selection includes a Snowman-Shaped Pretzel and cookies featuring brand-name chocolate from M&M’S and DOVE.

This year’s party will feature nearly 40 new yuletide-themed food and beverage items. Highlights from the new menu include the Santa Hat Brownie Sundae and the savory Holiday Pot Roast Mini Corn Dogs. Guests will also be happy to see returning fan-favorites like the Festive Beignets and the “Christmas-style” Chicken Tamale.

Disney+ Ends Doctor Who Partnership; BBC Confirms 2026 Christmas Special

After months of rumors, Disney+ is officially ending its co-production partnership with the BBC for the main Doctor Who series. The collaboration covered the past two seasons and several specials of the iconic sci-fi show.

Despite the change, the partnership is not over entirely. Disney+ remains involved in an upcoming spin-off miniseries titled The War Between the Land and the Sea.

In a statement reported by The Hollywood Reporter, BBC drama director Lindsay Salt thanked Disney+ “for being terrific global partners and collaborators over the past two seasons, and for the upcoming The War Between the Land and the Sea.”

The new miniseries will focus on UNIT and the Sea Devils, a returning monster from the classic Doctor Who era. Filming for the spin-off concluded last year, and it is still scheduled to air on both BBC One and Disney+ later this year. The two Doctor Who seasons and specials produced under the deal will also remain available to stream on Disney+.

The Future of Doctor Who

For fans of the main series, the BBC confirmed that Doctor Who will return with a Christmas special in 2026, written by showrunner Russell T. Davies. This will mark a significant gap of almost two years since the last episode aired in May 2025.

The BBC also indicated that more information on future seasons, as well as a separate animated show for pre-school children, will be announced at a later date.

Salt reaffirmed the network’s dedication to the franchise, stating, “The BBC remains fully committed to Doctor Who, which continues to be one of our most loved dramas, and we are delighted that Russell T Davies has agreed to write us another spectacular Christmas special for 2026. We can assure fans, the Doctor is not going anywhere, and we will be announcing plans for the next series in due course which will ensure the TARDIS remains at the heart of the BBC.”

The greenhouses at EPCOT’s Living with the Land are starting to glow and grow a little brighter for the holidays! Disney has begun installing festive decorations for this year’s “Glimmering Greenhouses” overlay at Living with the Land, the classic boat ride located inside The Land pavilion.

The beloved seasonal tradition transforms the attraction’s lush domes and tranquil waterways into a twinkling, tropical wonderland. Guests float past glittering lights wrapped around palm trees, hanging ornaments tucked among edible plants, and festive displays celebrating Disney horticulture in its holiday best.

While the attraction is still dressed for the Food & Wine Festival, Cast Members have confirmed that Christmas décor started popping up late last week. Today, lights could be spotted wrapped around several trees and greenhouse structures — though they haven’t been turned on just yet.

In addition to the regular ride overlay, guests can once again book the “Behind the Seeds: Glimmering Greenhouses” nighttime tour, which offers a closer after-dark look at the illuminated displays throughout the attraction.

The Glimmering Greenhouses overlay will debut alongside EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which runs later this fall and features beloved offerings like the Candlelight Processional, holiday storytellers, and festive food marketplaces.

ZIPAIR Launches Historic Nonstop Flights Between Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disney Resort

For the first time ever, guests will be able to fly nonstop between the magic of Orlando and the wonder of Tokyo. Beginning February 23, 2026, ZIPAIR Tokyo will launch charter flights directly connecting Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Narita International Airport (NRT) — marking the first nonstop passenger route between Florida and the Asia Pacific region.

The new service is a monumental milestone in both Florida’s aviation history and the global Disney community, uniting two of the most visited destinations on Earth: Walt Disney World Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort.

Announced during a special event at Tokyo’s Hotel New Otani, the ZIPAIR charter route will operate four roundtrip flights on February 23, February 28, March 5, and March 10, 2026. Each flight will depart and arrive in the afternoon, offering convenient daytime schedules for travelers heading east or west across the Pacific.

Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, called the announcement “more than just a new route,” emphasizing its historic significance for Florida. “This will be the first-ever nonstop passenger flight between Asia Pacific and the state of Florida,” Lyttle said. “We look forward to welcoming ZIPAIR passengers with the warmth and hospitality that both our nations cherish.”

ZIPAIR Tokyo President Shingo Nishida echoed the excitement, noting that the airline hopes this new service will open doors for greater cultural and travel connections. “By operating these charter flights for travelers from Japan, we hope to meet our customers’ expectations when they experience ZIPAIR’s new standard in air travel.”

The flights are being seen as a trial run that could pave the way for permanent scheduled service in the future, depending on demand. For Orlando, Tokyo has long been considered its largest “unserved” international market — making this launch a long-awaited victory for local tourism leaders.
