From Broadway star to the brave, sassy voice of Megara in Hercules, the talented Susan Egan has earned a new, prestigious title: Godparent of the Disney Destiny!
Carrying on a deep-rooted maritime tradition, this honorary role means Egan will bestow a special blessing of good luck upon the Heroes and Villains ship during the christening ceremony, ensuring good fortune for the vessel, its crew, and every guest who sails aboard.
Susan Egan goes the distance with her connection to beloved Disney characters, many of whom are represented on the Disney Destiny. In addition to being the voice of the iconic Megara, Egan originated the role of Belle in the 1994 Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast and was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance. She also served as the singing voice for Angel in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure and is an executive producer of live concert entertainment worldwide for Disney Music Group.

The short, which features the voice of Disney Legend John Goodman as Doodle, launches today on Disney+ and online, kicking off Disney’s “Make Someone’s Holiday Magic” campaign.

This uniquely Disney story follows their budding friendship during the festive season. The film concludes with the powerful call to action for the entire holiday campaign: “Make Someone’s Holiday Magic.” Adding to the Disney magic, renowned Walt Disney Animation Studios animator Eric Goldberg (creator of the Genie from Aladdin) advised on the animation, in collaboration with Untold Studios, hungryman, and creative agency adam&eveDDB.
“What makes this story uniquely Disney is the fact that it’s set in the world of a kid. It’s a kid and her new best friend, navigating the complex world together, and doing it just with the power of friendship and imagination,” said Taika Waititi.
The lovable character Doodle is voiced by Disney Legend John Goodman (Doodle), who has voiced numerous beloved animated characters for Disney, including James P. “Sulley” Sullivan from Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Monsters University (2013), as well as Pacha in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Emperor’s New Groove (2000), and “Big Daddy” La Bouff in The Princess and the Frog (2009), among many other Disney titles.

On November 12, to celebrate A Disney Holiday Short: Best Christmas Ever, Disney is inviting fans to help create a little magic of their own in Times Square. This interactive experience will be a first-of-its-kind to light up the streets of New York.

Santa Claus at Hollywood Studios: The New Meet & Greet
Santa Claus has set up a spectacular new shop this year inside Walt Disney Presents in the Animation Courtyard.
To begin your holiday journey, look for the entrance under the charming “Meet Friends for the Holidays” sign. The queue will lead you down a cheerful hallway, festively decorated with candy cane-striped columns and classic Disney holiday artwork, building the anticipation for your visit with the big man himself.
Once you reach the front of the line, you’ll find Santa holding court in a wonderfully appointed, vintage Hollywood-style Christmas setting. He’s seated comfortably on a green velvet couch, atop a large circular monogram rug. The set is framed by a fully decorated Christmas tree, his classic red mail bag, and a table piled high with presents, classic toys, and, of course, the Naughty and Nice List.
Santa himself is decked out in his classic red suit and hat with furry white trim, complete with black leather boots, belt, and gloves. His coat features a special metallic gold filigree pattern, adding a touch of Tinseltown glamour to his traditional look!

Times: Meeting times are subject to change, so the best way to plan your visit is by checking the My Disney Experience app on the day you visit the park. When we visited recently, Santa was listed as appearing from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM ET.
