The script was written by and is set to be directed by Ryan Landels.

Plot Details: Rivalry Turns to Romance

The story centers on Lindsey (Lacey Chabert), who travels to Walt Disney World with her extended family to spend a magical Christmas together. However, her jolly holiday dream is dashed when she discovers her room is next door to Philip (Travis Van Winkle), a disastrous first date she had recently, who is also there on a family trip.

As their paths continually cross throughout their stay, the initial frost between them begins to thaw. Thanks to the magic of Walt Disney World and the holiday wish Lindsey made in Cinderella Fountain, their rivalry just might turn into romance.

Decades-Long Partnership Brought to Screen

This collaboration extends a long-standing history between the two brands. “The partnership between Hallmark and Disney dates back decades, when a shared Kansas City connection and friendship between Hallmark’s founder, J.C. Hall, and Walt Disney himself led to our first-ever licensed products, including the very first greeting card featuring Mickey Mouse,” said Darren Abbott, Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark. “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship beyond the products we create together and onto the screen…”

Sally Conner, VP Global Content, also shared her excitement: “Storytelling is at the heart of both Disney and Hallmark, and that magic shines even brighter during the holidays. We’re thrilled that Walt Disney World will serve as the immersive setting for a Hallmark holiday movie highlighting the cheerful festivities of the season.”

Lacey Chabert previously made a special appearance live from Magic Kingdom Park during Hallmark Channel’s broadcast of The Hallmark Christmas Experience: A Hometown Holiday, confirming the film’s production.

The partnership won’t stop at the movie screen. Next holiday season, fans can experience the magic with a collection of Disney and Hallmark products inspired by the film. The collection will feature greeting cards, ornaments, gifts, gift wrap, and other unique offerings, available at select Hallmark Gold Crown stores, Hallmark.com, and other retailers.

Universal in talks with Warner Bros to License DC Universe for Theme Parks

Universal in talks with Warner Bros to License DC Universe for Theme Parks

Could DC Heroes Trade Places With Marvel In Orlando’s Theme Park Multiverse?

Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly chatting with theme park operators, including Universal, about licensing DC Comics heavy hitters like Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman for new attractions. It is very early days, and nothing is signed, but if those talks ever turn into a full deal, it could represent a seismic shift in the Orlando marketplace. Right now, most DC-themed rides live at Six Flags parks, while Universal’s big superhero footprint in Florida comes from Marvel Super Hero Island at Islands of Adventure.

Universal in talks with Warner Bros to License DC Universe for Theme Parks

Here is where it gets extra juicy for Central Florida fans. Universal secured the theme park rights east of the Mississippi for key Marvel characters back in the 1990s, long before Disney acquired Marvel. As long as Universal keeps Marvel Super Hero Island open and maintained, it can continue to use those heroes, and in return, Universal pays royalties to Disney for the privilege.

That agreement is exactly why Walt Disney World cannot build an Avengers Campus-style land in Florida featuring characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, and the X Men, even though Disney owns Marvel outright. This also limits what Universal can do in Super Hero Island, which may be preventing the park from innovating and expanding the land.

Universal in talks with Warner Bros to License DC Universe for Theme Parks

If Universal were to acquire the rights to use DC characters in its parks, it would open up a very big “what if” question. Universal could eventually choose to retire Marvel Super Hero Island and reimagine that space as a DC-themed land filled with Gotham, Metropolis, and the Justice League. If that happened, Marvel’s Orlando theme park rights would effectively fall fully back into Disney’s hands, since Disney is Marvel’s owner. That could finally clear the legal tracks for Walt Disney World to bring something like Avengers Campus to Florida, giving Disney a proper Marvel land to match what guests see at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris.

Right now, though, all of that is still speculation layered on top of very early licensing talks. There is no guarantee Universal will close a deal for DC, no confirmation that any potential agreement would impact Islands of Adventure, and no sign that Marvel Super Hero Island is going away anytime soon. But it is hard not to imagine the possibilities. Universal could trade Spider-Man and Hulk for Batman and Superman, while Disney upgrades from one-off Marvel attractions to a full Avengers-scale presence at Walt Disney World. If the pieces ever line up, Orlando’s superhero scene could end up looking very different along I-4.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster Shuts Down Single Rider Line to Maximize Filled Seats

Jurassic World VelociCoaster is racing into a new operational era, but not in a way that thrill-seekers were expecting. During recent visits, guests have found the single rider entrance not just closed but the sign completely covered by a black tarp. Universal has not made any official announcement regarding the long-term status of single rider, so for now its future remains a mystery lurking in the raptor paddock.

Single Rider Line for Velocicoaster at Islands of Adventure Closes

To help keep those trains fully loaded, VelociCoaster is currently operating with a new two-line system, separating guests into groups with an even or odd number of riders. Team Members then sort and load Guests accordingly, all in an effort to ensure no seat goes empty on a coaster that is among the most popular attractions at the resort. The change appears to be Universal’s latest strategy to boost throughput on what is already Florida’s tallest and fastest launch coaster, catapulting riders to 70 mph in just 2.4 seconds at the start of the hunt.

While the single rider line has been a fan-favorite hack for shaving down wait times, it’s clear that VelociCoaster’s massive demand has created challenges for operations. With accolades like USA Today’s Best New Theme Park Attraction and multiple coaster-of-the-year wins, the attraction continues to draw crowds as fierce as the raptors it’s themed to. Whether the single rider closure becomes a permanent shift or a temporary operational tweak remains to be seen, but for now Guests should plan on pairing up or splitting into even and odd groups before entering the paddock.

Magic Kingdom’s Steam Trains Celebrate 100 Years of Whistle-Worthy Disney History

All aboard the nostalgia express, because two of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved steam trains are officially chugging into triple-digit territory. The Roger E. Broggie and Walter E. Disney locomotives are celebrating their 100th birthdays, and they’re looking more magical than ever as they continue to circle the park and carry forward the dream that started with Walt’s love of railroads. Originally built in 1925 for service long before the Florida Project was even a spark, these engines eventually found their forever home steaming past Main Street, U.S.A., Cinderella Castle, and all the moments in between. Their story is steeped in history, but the heartbeat behind them is pure Disney.

Keeping these rolling icons shining is no easy task, but Walt Disney World’s Transportation Engineering team treats each train like a treasured heirloom. Transportation Engineering Service Manager Lou Berkheiser has been lovingly tending to these locomotives for more than 35 years. He grew up loving trains, and says working on the Walt Disney World Railroad lets him live that passion every day. According to Lou, restoration is a full tear-down process that brings the locomotive back to life piece by piece. Every bolt, bracket, and brass detail gets careful attention. Some components are even hand-fabricated because the original parts simply don’t exist anymore. It’s the kind of dedication Walt himself would be proud of.

All Aboard! Magic Kingdom’s Beloved Steam Trains Mark th Birthday

The Roger E. Broggie, which triumphantly returned to service in late 2023, is a showcase of true craftsmanship. Its elegant hand-painted detailing and real gold leafing aren’t just pretty; they honor traditional railroad artistry rarely seen today. Every stripe, number, and swirl was painted by hand, all to preserve the authenticity that makes these trains feel like living pieces of Disney history. As they glide around the park with their freshly polished trim glistening in the sun, it’s impossible not to get swept up in the magic.

These trains are more than transportation. They’re storytellers, memory makers, and timeless symbols of Walt’s legacy. Their whistles echo through Main Street like a heartbeat of the park itself, reminding Guests that Disney magic begins with imagination, hard work, and a spark of passion that refuses to fade. Thanks to the Cast Members who keep these beauties steaming ahead, the spirit of Walt’s railroad isn’t just alive — it’s prepared for another hundred years of adventure.
