While Hollywood Studios is fully reserved, Passholders still have options if they are feeling a little resourceful. Of course, that depends on the park not hitting capacity, so it is not quite a guaranteed hyperdrive jump into Batuu.

May the 4th has become one of the most popular days of the year at Disney parks thanks to its playful nod to “May the Force be with you.” At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, fans can expect themed food, exclusive merchandise, and plenty of galactic energy throughout the day. The construction footprint has expanded slightly in recent weeks, with shrubs and planters now blocking off a small staircase that once served as an alternate exit path. The main exit remains open, but the changes are hard to miss as a large patch of concrete has been removed entirely. This follows earlier work in the area, including the removal of a net shade structure and a themed shed.

The kiosk itself never reopened after the 2020 park closures, and its prop truck was removed back in 2021. Since then, the space has been used intermittently for vending carts and meet and greets, making this latest round of construction feel like a more permanent reset for the area.

Now, with primer applied, the stage is set for a vibrant new design inspired by the Electric Mayhem, the house band of The Muppets.

New scaffolding and scrim have spread across the former Muppets Courtyard, giving us a clearer look at just how extensive this Monsters, Inc.-inspired overhaul is becoming.

One of the most noticeable changes is at the former MuppetVision 3D theater, where scaffolding has climbed nearly to the top of the clock tower. Crews have been actively removing sections of brick from the façade, hinting at a brand-new marquee and updated architectural details. Nearby, the structure that once housed Gonzo’s Royal Flush is now wrapped in a neutral scrim, as it prepares for a full thematic refresh into the world of Monstropolis. While the bones of the building remain, the quirky Muppets-era details like signage and pipes have been stripped away.

Over by the former It’s a Wonderful Shop, the transformation is even more dramatic. The building has disappeared behind scrim as its firehouse façade has been removed entirely, leaving behind scaffolding and framework. This area, along with the rest of the land, is being reimagined rather than fully demolished, blending existing structures with new storytelling elements inspired by Monsters, Inc..

This is all part of the larger Monstropolis expansion, which will introduce Disney’s first suspended coaster and its first-ever vertical lift coaster themed to the iconic door vault scene. The project also includes reimagined dining locations, with Mama Melrose’s becoming Harryhausen’s and a refreshed quick-service replacing PizzeRizzo. While an opening timeline has yet to be announced, the scale of construction suggests this land is far from a quick refurb and more of a full scream-worthy transformation.

The newly announced Good-to-Go dates are April 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, and 23. On these select days, all Annual Pass types can enter any of the four theme parks without needing a reservation. Whether you’re craving a stroll through World Showcase, a safari adventure, or a spin on your favorite attraction, these dates are essentially your golden ticket to spontaneity.

For all other days, reservations are still required, but there’s a little pixie-dusted loophole. Passholders can enter any park after 2:00 PM without a reservation, with one exception: Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays.
