New Baby Springbok born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
A new baby springbok was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! The newest member of the springbok heard was born at the end of September and is just the cutest!
Springbok are a hoofstock species of slender antelope that can be found in the central and western parts of southern Africa. At Walt Disney World, they can be spotted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and n Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney doctor Mark Penning shared about the new baby springbok on Instagram:
“Meet the newest member of the springbok herd at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Born near the end of September, this cute calf travelled to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park last week to spend some time with our animal care Cast Members like Dr. Jen (in blue) and hospital keeper Jen (in green), who offered careful attention and kept her fed every four hours. Even under special circumstances, our team didn’t skip a beat in providing excellent care.

Reservations Now Open for Candlelight Processional Dining Packages in EPCOT
Candlelight Processional dining packages are now open for reservations in Epcot! The Candlelight Processional is part of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays which begins November 25.
Guests wanting to reserve a spot for the Candlelight Processional can do so with a dining package reservation. They’ll enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner at select EPCOT restaurants and guaranteed seating to one of the Candlelight Processional showings that same day. Showings are typically held at 5:15PM, 7PM, and 8:30PM.

Exciting news for retro gamers! During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment debuted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated adaptation.
From Nintendo and Illumination comes a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros.

Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (collaborators on Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru), the film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo. The film will be co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and released worldwide by Universal Pictures.
Super Mario Bros. will premiere in theaters April 7, 2023.
This week’s episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law features the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil!
Jennifer Walters has finally met her match in Matt Murdock. While the character was teased earlier in the season, he’s finally reintroduced to audiences in Episode 8 of Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk — and he’s very much the same Matt Murdock audiences have come to know and love over the years, once again played by Charlie Cox returning to the role.
We’re avoiding spoilers, but something we loved in this week’s episode was all the callbacks to the Netflix series.
In an interview with The Direct, Jessica Gao, series creator and head writer of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, spoke about the approach taken with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
“What was so fun about bringing him and Daredevil into our world is that people have already seen a Daredevil who is very dramatic, little bit on the heavy side, very dark, brooding….And it was so fun to be able to do–and we do this with every character cameo from the MCU–is we take them from the environment that you know them from, which is a much more dramatic and action-oriented role, much more on the serious side, and we bring them into our world and they get to play in the tone of She-Hulk. And they got to explore and we get to see a lighter side of that character.”

Orlando FreeFall ride to be taken down following teenagers death
Back in March 14-year-old Tyre Sampson died after falling from the Orlando FreeFall drop tower ride at ICON Park. Now, that attraction will be taken down.
CEO of Orlando Slingshot Ritchie Armstrong said the company decided to take down the 430-foot drop tower ride to respect Sampson’s family’s wishes, as well as the community outcry over the boy’s death.
“We are devastated by Tyre’s death. We have listened to the wishes of Tyre’s family and the community, and have made the decision to take down the FreeFall,” Armstrong’s statement read. “In addition, Orlando Slingshot will honor Tyre and his legacy in the classroom and on the football field by creating a scholarship in his name.”
There is no timeline for taking down the attraction yet.
The attraction was fairly new when Sampson visited ICON Park in March. Ride operators reportedly adjusted his seat so he could experience the ride. He died after plunging to his death from the attraction. His autopsy showed he was 100 pounds over the weight limit.
In May, a petition launched to turn the site into a memorial for Sampson.

At Disney’s Grand Floridian, the Chef’s have created an fascinating Haunted Mansion display made out of chocolate. Constance Hatchaway features in the giant egg, which features a hatchet on the top, a front side that has the Haunted Mansion logo,and a back side that has the wallaper we are all familiar with.
Sitting beside the egg, is the invisible horse drawn carriage that sits out front of the Haunted Mansion attraction in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Made of chocolate also and is a sight to see. Check out the images below, along with reading the plaque that sits next to the display.

Huge announcement for Disney Animation! Today, Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed that their company is teaming up with Lighthouse Immersive Studios, the producers of the blockbuster Immersive Van Gogh, to develop “Disney Animation Immersive Experience.” It will receive its world premiere in Toronto this December and then can be seen across the United States and other areas of the world in the next year.
Creating iconic animated stories for all ages for nearly a century, Walt Disney Animation Studios will join forces with North America’s top creator of experiential projection exhibitions to present the music and artistry within Disney Animation’s canon of films—from hits of today like Encanto, Zootopiaand Frozen, to all of the classics including The Lion King, Peter Pan and Pinocchio. Audiences will feel like they’ve entered the incredible worlds of beloved Disney characters and become one with them.
Disney Animation: Immersive Experience will debut at Lighthouse ArtSpace Toronto in December 2022, and will subsequently be seen in Cleveland, Nashville, Detroit, Denver, Boston, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Minneapolis and Columbus in the first four months of 2023. Additional cities are currently being scheduled and Tokyo will be the first city outside of North America to receive Disney Animation: Immersive Experience.
“The collaboration with Lighthouse Immersive is a first for Disney Animation,” said Clark Spencer, president, Walt Disney Animation Studios and two-time Academy Award®-winner (Encanto, Zootopia). “It’s a dream to bring the best of animated storytelling together with the top experts in the immersive art experience. Being entrusted with Disney’s rich archive of animation is a great honor, but also a tremendous responsibility. With such a wealth of material and a treasure trove of memorable characters, it will be a thrill to bring the work of all the great Disney animators and performers to life in a 360-degree immersive environment.” Mexico City-based Cocolab is working with Dale and the Creative Legacy team at Walt Disney Animation Studios to develop the program for Lighthouse Immersive Studios. Special Projects Producer Dorothy McKim (Oscar-nominated, Get A Horse!) is spearheading the project for Disney Animation.
The audience experience will be further enhanced by Lighthouse Immersive’s Global Creative Director David Korins, (Tony Award®-nominee whose credits include more than 20 Broadway shows including Hamilton,and an Emmy Award® winner for Grease Live). Korins will develop never-before-seen interactive lobby elements that guests can enjoy before or after entering the gallery.
Ross captures the excitement both Disney and Lighthouse Immersive feel for the project as he describes how it begins: “Just imagine journeying through Zootopia with Judy Hopps, diving to the ocean floor with Ariel, flying on a magic carpet with Aladdin, and stepping into Casita with Mirabel and the family Madrigal. This is where the Disney Animation: Immersive Experience will take you.”
