Disney Lorcana – Disney’s First Trading Card Game Arriving Fall 2023
Ravensburger, acclaimed publisher behind award-winning board games and high quality toys and puzzles, announced an exciting collaboration with Disney to launch its first ever collectible card game, Disney Lorcana. This brand new trading card game will feature beloved Disney characters in both original and reimagined art styles that live in an all-new world with unique and magical gameplay.

Several years of work and development have gone into crafting Disney Lorcana, which is the first trading card game to utilize Disney characters and storytelling. We visited the booth at D23 to get the first look at a promotional set of foils displaying artwork and card design. Ravensburger and Disney believe that this collaboration will be a game-changer in the now million-dollar-plus trading card game market.
Ravensburger has created a game that is easy to learn for trading card game newcomers, but complex enough to offer strategic depth for experienced players to help create a community for more people to enjoy the excitement and fun of trading card games.

Disney fans are sure to enjoy the beautiful illustrations, overarching storyline, and playing with their favorite characters in new and novel ways. The six cards we previewed show an innovative and gorgeous take on six beloved Disney characters; Elsa, Stitch, Captain Hook, Maleficent, Robin Hood, and Cruella de Vil. Visitors to the Ravensburg D23 Booth were also treated to a Mickey Mouse promo card and a trading pin.
The game is set in the rich world of Lorcana, a combination of the words Lore and Arcana. Player take of the role and mantle of Illumineer, a powerful sorcerer, and band together with Disney characters from Lorcana’s “The Great Illuminary,” a treasury of all Disney songs and stories ever made.
Gameplay and specifics have not yet been released. Great care has gone into delivering and unforgettable world and gameplay that is being promised to deliver fun for Disney superfans, trading card game beginners, and advanced and enthusiastic players.
Disney Lorcana is set to release in the Fall of 2023. Ravensburger will release four new card sets annually each year as well as and an organized play program. Ravensburger is the developer for the hit gaming series Villainous and the designer of various robust games, puzzles, and toys.
