Toy Story 5 Becomes the First in the Series to Earn a PG Rating

For the first time in over 30 years, the toys are breaking out of the ‘G’ rating. While the previous four Toy Story films were all rated ‘G’ for General Audiences, this latest installment is making history with the franchise’s first-ever PG rating, suggesting that some parental guidance may be needed for Woody’s newest adventure.

The official word is in from the Motion Picture Association (MPA): Toy Story 5 has been handed a PG rating. According to the MPA’s classification standards, this means the film contains elements that may require parental guidance, often defined by:

“Generally, violence is mild in nature. May include pushing and shoving, fist fights or brawls. Violence may be cartoonish, comedic or slapstick, or fantasy-like. If weapons are used, they are usually unrealistic (i.e. laser guns, glowing swords, magical powers etc.). If guns are present, they are used infrequently and, generally, bullet impacts to characters will not be observed on screen. Usually, there are no real details of lasting harm observed on-screen (i.e. no blood, visible wounds, characters dying onscreen).”

For decades, the Toy Story series has been the gold standard for ‘G-rated’ entertainment. In fact, the first four films share that rare ‘General Audiences’ badge with a prestigious group of Pixar classics. According to the Film Ratings database, Toy Story 5 is breaking a streak held by beloved titles such as:

Monsters, Inc. & Monsters University
Wall-E

A Bug’s Life

While a ‘PG’ rating is new for Woody and Buzz, it isn’t new for Pixar. The Incredibles broke the mold in 2004 as the first Pixar film to move away from the ‘G’ rating, and many of the studio’s more emotional or action-packed stories have followed suit. Toy Story 5 joins an impressive list of PG-rated adventures, including:

Progress Report on the Tropical Americas Land at Animal Kingdom

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and thanks to some incredible new aerial shots from bioreconstruct, we can see that Tropical Americas (officially named Pueblo Esperanza) is officially rising from the dust.

Since the final fossils were packed away following the closure of DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus in February 2026, the pace of construction has been nothing short of breakneck. Here is a closer look at what the current site reveals about the future of this 11-acre land.

One of the most striking developments in the recent photos is the massive vertical progress on the Encanto attraction.

In the overhead view, you can clearly see the sprawling footprint of what will become the Madrigal family’s Casita. Steel framing is now several stories high, including the “Garden House” entrance. This area is designed to transition guests from the lush jungle of the village into the magical, shifting rooms of the Casita. Recent reports even confirm that the original film cast has been recording lines for this ride, which is rumored to be a state-of-the-art boat attraction beginning in Antonio’s rainforest-themed room.

Looking toward the back of the site, work is intensifying on the former DINOSAUR show building. While the structural exterior remains largely intact, the interior is being gutted and rebuilt to house an all-new Indiana Jones adventure.

Unlike the version at Disneyland, this attraction will follow Indy as he explores a preserved Maya temple. The photos show heavy machinery surrounding the entrance area, where the old “Cretaceous Trail” is being reimagined into a new playground and climbing area for younger explorers.

What Else We Spotted

The Carousel Foundation: In the center of the site, a large circular concrete foundation is now visible. This will be the home of the land’s third attraction—a giant carousel featuring wood-carved animals from across the Disney and Pixar libraries (keep an eye out for Kevin from Up!).
The Hacienda Restaurant: The skeleton of the former Restaurantosaurus is being reimagined into a massive, quick-service hacienda. It’s slated to be one of the largest dining locations in all of Walt Disney World, featuring classic Spanish-style architecture.
Pueblo Esperanza Fountain: The central hub of the land is starting to clear out, making room for the large community fountain where “gathering villagers” will tell stories to guests.

While Disney has officially pointed to 2027 for the grand opening, the rapid vertical progress on the Encanto show building suggests that the structural work could wrap by early 2027, leaving the rest of the year for the intricate “character plaster” and thematic detailing Imagineers are known for.

Walt Disney World Rededicates Reimagined Wish Lounge During Disney Week of Wishes

Disney has officially launched its annual “Disney Week of Wishes,” a celebration of the legendary 45-year partnership between the company and Make-A-Wish. To mark the occasion, Walt Disney World Resort held a special rededication ceremony for the newly reimagined Wish Lounge located inside Magic Kingdom.

The Wish Lounge serves as a private sanctuary where wish families can take a break and recharge during their park day. Originally opened in the late 2000s, the space recently underwent a complete retheming. The new design features custom artwork and special touches inspired by iconic “wish-granting” moments from beloved Disney films, providing a peaceful environment for families to soak in the magic of their journey.

The ceremony featured a truly inspiring story from Disney cast member Abigail Hoyle. Abigail’s own connection to the program began in 2011 when she visited Walt Disney World as a wish kid. After spending time in the lounge with her own family over a decade ago, she has now returned to the resort as a “WishMaker” herself, helping to create magic for families going through their own difficult times.

Now a member of the Disney Entertainment team, Abigail finds deep meaning in her daily work. She noted how special it is to help children meet their favorite characters, as it mirrors the kindness she experienced during her own wish trip. For Abigail, being part of the team that grants these moments is a perfect full-circle milestone.

Joining Abigail for the rededication was 6-year-old Paxton from Pennsylvania. Paxton, who is navigating a gastrointestinal disorder, wished to visit Walt Disney World with his family. To make the day even more memorable, Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum and Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle teamed up with Abigail to surprise Paxton with a special appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse, officially opening a new chapter for the lounge.

During the renovation process, Abigail and other cast members who are Make-A-Wish alumni were invited to leave their mark on the lounge’s legacy. They signed a wall within the space, leaving behind messages of hope and encouragement for the thousands of wish families who will visit in the years to come. These cast members are part of the massive effort that sees more than 7,000 wishes granted at Walt Disney World every single year.

The most noticeable shift is happening at the former home of the Eighth Voyage of Sindbad stunt show, which has sat dormant for years like a forgotten relic of adventure. Construction walls recently went up around the theater, and these aerial views confirm that demolition work is now actively moving forward behind the scenes.

Nearby, Poseidon’s Fury is also now surrounded by construction walls, signaling that changes are expanding deeper into the land. The once water-filled pathways and ancient temple facades now sit alongside heavy equipment, dirt pathways, and staging areas that look more like an archaeological dig than a theme park walkway.

From above, you can see pathways torn up, sections of landscaping cleared, and work vehicles moving through what used to be guest-accessible areas. The transformation is not subtle. It feels like the Lost Continent is slowly being rewritten, one stone at a time.

At this point, Universal’s Islands of Adventure has not officially announced what will replace this section of the park, or when the remaining restaurants and shops in the land may close. One detail that had fans raising their wands in concern was the castle’s temporary gray appearance. At first glance, it looked like Hogwarts had traded its weathered stone charm for something a bit too… muggle minimal. But these latest views confirm that the gray is simply a base coat.

Crews are actively layering multiple tones over that base to recreate the aged, timeworn stone look that gives Hogwarts its centuries-old character. Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift Coaster Track Races Skyward at Universal Studios Florida

The next high-speed addition to Universal Studios Florida is officially picking up momentum, and from above, the progress is impossible to miss. New aerial photos from bioreconstruct reveal that the upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster is starting to take shape in a big way, with track now rising into the skyline and construction pushing forward across multiple areas of the site.

The latest images show a bustling backstage staging zone filled with coaster track pieces, steel supports, and construction equipment, all lined up like a pit crew ready for race day. Over at the main construction site, vertical track elements are now installed, and the layout of the attraction is becoming much easier to follow.

One of the most notable details is the dual-track configuration near the station area, hinting at a dual load and unload system that could help keep ride operations running smoothly once the coaster opens. Nearby, a second concrete platform has reportedly been poured for a switch track, which will likely help route trains between the station and the service building.

Speaking of the station, the framework for the load and unload building is clearly visible, along with the adjacent service structure. Crews are continuing to prep concrete foundations that will support additional track sections as construction expands deeper into the ride footprint.

The project is also stretching toward the back corner of the park’s New York section, with visible work extending beyond guest areas into backstage zones. One particularly interesting detail is that parts of the coaster track are expected to pass over an existing utility building, a move that adds a bit of engineering flair to the already ambitious layout.

This new attraction is replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and is expected to deliver a very different ride experience. The Hollywood version of the coaster features over 4,000 feet of track, sound reduction technology, and vehicles capable of 360-degree rotation to simulate high-speed drifting through tight turns and inversions.

While the Florida version will not be an exact clone of the one coming to Universal Studios Hollywood, it is expected to bring similar high-energy theming and that signature drifting sensation to Orlando.

Construction continues to move at a steady pace, with the attraction currently targeting a 2027 opening window. Until then, these aerial updates are giving fans a front-row seat to the transformation as steel meets speed in what is shaping up to be one of the park’s most intense additions yet.
