Cinderella Castle Transformation Hits Final Milestone with New Blue Roofs
The refurbishment of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom continues as painting crews shift their focus to the blue roofing. By moving away from the specialized 50th-anniversary colors, Disney is in the process of restoring the landmark’s traditional appearance.
While the shift in blue tones might be subtle at a glance, the fresh coat is undeniably more vibrant and luminous than the previous shade. A section of roofing near the center of the castle now features a striking patch of deep, dark blue, partially masking the lighter blue zig-zag patterns beneath.
When visiting the park this weekend, we saw cranes and other work vehicles in the empty mote around the castle. They weren’t in use but they weren’t hiding from guest’s view. Hopefully the repainting job will be completed soon!
Disney Files Permits for Maintenance Work Across Multiple Buildings at Art of Animation Resort
It looks like Disney is giving one of its most colorful resorts a little behind-the-scenes refresh. Six new permits have been filed for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, targeting several guest buildings across the sprawling, animation-inspired property. While nothing flashy is being announced just yet, these updates are all about keeping the magic running smoothly, even if it is happening quietly backstage.
The permits, filed on March 20, 2026, cover a mix of fan-favorite themed areas including Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King. Specifically, work is slated for buildings at 1650, 1700, and 1750 Animation Way in the Cars section, along with 1800 and 1900 Animation Way in the Finding Nemo area, and 1950 Animation Way in The Lion King section. If you have ever stayed in Radiator Springs or taken a stroll through Pride Rock, chances are you have passed right by these buildings.
The listed contractor, Ferran Services & Contracting Inc., has been approved to carry out “mechanical work,” which typically points to maintenance involving systems like HVAC, plumbing, or other essential infrastructure. The permits are assigned to Disney’s Facility Asset Management team, reinforcing that this is routine upkeep rather than a major refurbishment or reimagining.
For guests, this likely means minimal impact, if any, during their stay. Disney is known for keeping these types of projects as seamless as possible, so your morning coffee with Lightning McQueen or your late-night stroll past Simba should remain uninterrupted.
Disneyland Revamps Park Operations to Meet Insane Fan Demand
The debut of “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” at Disneyland yesterday proved to be challenging for both guests and Cast Members. While the show was popular, the scale of the Bluey fandom led to shifts in park operations and logistical hurdles as the day progressed.
The high-energy dance breaks that defined Saturday’s previews were noticeably quieter yesterday as Disneyland prioritized getting as many fans into the theater as possible. To handle the overwhelming turnout, the open dance area was repurposed for seating, effectively curbing the “get up and move” vibe of the show. Only the early-morning performance maintained its original capacity; for the rest of the day, increased attendance meant that most families remained seated just to fit everyone in.
Operational issues peaked when the show’s “open-play” design met massive demand. Because the theater offered food and photo opportunities alongside the performance, audiences were reluctant to leave once the curtains closed. Cast Members struggled to implement a clear “exit” strategy, especially as some guests performed a “loop-around,” pretending to head for snacks before jumping right back into the queue for a repeat viewing.
The show’s length also proved to be a hurdle. At 30 to 40 minutes, the runtime was longer than many parents anticipated for a toddler-centric event. This resulted in significant “audience churn,” with families leaving mid-show as younger viewers hit their limit, further complicating the flow of traffic in and out of the Fantasyland Theatre.
The sheer scale of the Bluey fandom was on full display as crowds at the Fantasyland Theatre surged to double their intended capacity for the final four performances. Adding to the confusion, the scheduled rotation between “Show 1” and “Show 2” was scrapped, with the theatre running an unpredictable sequence that left some guests seeing the same show twice.
Lines for the event became a logistical nightmare, stretching from the theatre entrance all the way back to the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Cast Members were forced to close the queue for capacity multiple times, reopening it briefly only to be swamped again. By the time the final show was seated, hundreds of disappointed guests had to be turned away.
Disney Jr. just dropped a new animated short featuring a crossover of truly heroic proportions. By blending the iconic magic of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with the heartwarming charm of Bluey, they’ve created the definitive “must-watch” event for kids and parents alike.
Disney has finally delivered the ultimate mashup: a crossover short where Mickey Mouse Clubhouse meets Bluey. The story kicks off with Toodles activating a mysterious portal that transports Mickey straight into the Heelers’ living room—specifically, right into the middle of their famous opening credits.
As the game of musical statues unfolds, the rest of Disney’s core crew—Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Pluto—join the fray, with each character getting a signature shout-out. Fans will love the silent interaction between Goofy and Bandit; as the two famous fathers exchange a quick high-five, it serves as a “dad-to-dad” acknowledgment that bridges the two universes. This special short serves as a perfect celebration for both series on Disney+, while also highlighting the newest Bluey experiences arriving at the Disneyland Resort.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s Upside-Down Car Gets a Groovy Glow-Up Ahead of Muppets Makeover
Things are getting a little more… electric over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as work continues on the reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets, and now we’ve got a fresh look at one of the ride’s most iconic props. The upside-down car outside the attraction is getting a vibrant new paint job, and let’s just say… it’s starting to look like it belongs on a psychedelic tour bus with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
According to recent photos shared by bioreconstruct, the car’s updated design now features bold swirling patterns in red, orange, and teal, accented with newly added yellow stars that pop against the darker sections. You can also spot fresh airbrushed shadowing throughout the graphics, giving the whole piece more depth and that extra “stage lighting” vibe. It’s a noticeable shift from the previous look and feels much more in line with the colorful, chaotic energy you’d expect from a Muppets-led rock show.
The transformation is still a work in progress, but these updates are a strong sign that Disney is leaning fully into the new theme. The nearby G-Force Records archway still stands, but with the Muppets set to take over the attraction, it is only a matter of time before more visible changes start popping up around the entrance and queue.
“Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets” is currently scheduled to open in summer 2026, and if this refreshed car is any indication, guests should expect a brighter, funkier, and possibly more chaotic ride experience when it debuts. One thing is certain… this limo is ready to jam.
Step Right Up… Halloween Horror Nights 35 Merch Has Arrived and It’s Pure Nightmare Fuel
Universal just dropped the curtain on the first wave of 2026 Halloween Horror Nights merchandise, and it’s giving big top terror in the best possible way. This year’s collection spotlights a sinister showdown between fan-favorite icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow, framed beneath a twisted circus tent that feels like it wandered straight out of your worst nightmare. 🎪😈
The artwork itself is a chaotic masterpiece, splitting the two characters down the middle like a haunted coin toss between madness and mayhem. Neon greens, eerie purples, and carnival reds crackle through the design, giving it that electric HHN energy fans live for. Whether you’re Team Jack or Team Oddfellow, this design makes one thing clear… the circus is in town, and it’s not here to entertain, it’s here to haunt.
The merch lineup spans everything from classic tees and cozy hoodies to bold hockey-style jerseys that look like they belong in a scare zone showdown. There’s even a sherpa blanket for those who like their nightmares served warm and fuzzy. Each piece carries that same striking circus aesthetic, making it feel like a cohesive collection rather than just a logo slapped on fabric.
And if you’re planning ahead for Halloween Horror Nights 35, this drop is basically your official uniform for the fog. Limited-time and likely to vanish faster than a scareactor in the shadows, this is one collection you’ll want to grab before it disappears into the night.
Shanghai Disney Resort Turns 10 with a Sparkling “Magic+” Celebration You Won’t Want to Miss
If there were ever a time to book that bucket-list trip to Shanghai Disney Resort, this is it. The park’s 10th anniversary celebration, “With You, It’s Magic+,” officially kicked off on March 20, 2026, and it’s shaping up to be a year-long festival bursting with new entertainment, dazzling décor, exclusive eats, and enough shimmer to make Tinker Bell jealous.
At the heart of the celebration is a brand-new castle stage spectacular, “The Heart of Magic,” transforming Enchanted Storybook Castle into a multi-stage storytelling powerhouse. Mickey and friends team up with characters from films like Frozen, Mulan, Hercules, Coco, and Turning Red in a sweeping quest to restore magic itself. Yes, Hercules is finally flexing his way into Shanghai Disneyland, and Miguel is stepping into a major park role, giving this show some serious star power.
The beloved “Mickey’s Storybook Express” parade is also getting a birthday glow-up, complete with a charming new Duffy and Friends pre-parade float shaped like a golden ship. Meanwhile, a high-energy Zootopia float crashes the party with Gazelle’s concert bus, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and a full-on street party vibe that practically demands you dance along.
When the sun sets, “Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration” returns with extra sparkle, featuring a new finale where Mickey appears in a dazzling magician look. Add in fireworks, fountains, lasers, and a brand-new Wish-inspired sequence with Asha and Star, and you’ve got a nighttime spectacular that feels like pure Disney stardust brought to life.
The celebration isn’t just about shows, it’s a full sensory feast. Special anniversary menus feature noodle dishes inspired by Chinese birthday traditions, alongside returning fan-favorite snacks and brand-new collectible souvenirs. The merchandise lineup is the largest in the resort’s history, including an interactive Magic Wand that lets guests “collect magic” throughout the park like a real-life sorcerer in training.
Characters are also dressed for the occasion in shimmering new outfits inspired by wishing stars, while décor across the park, hotels, and Disneytown glows with hidden “10” details and magical touches. There’s even a digital experience called “My Magic Star,” where guests can create personalized stars, unlock in-park surprises, and keep the celebration going long after they leave.
From collectible puzzle-piece tickets to surprise cast member interactions and seasonal entertainment throughout the year, Shanghai Disney Resort is pulling out all the stops for its 10th birthday. If magic had a glow setting, this celebration would be cranked to max.
Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro Explains Why Lightning Lane Works Differently at Walt Disney World and Disneyland
If you’ve ever tried to book a Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World and then hopped over to Disneyland only to feel like you entered a completely different system, you’re not imagining things, and now we finally have an official answer why. Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro addressed the long-debated differences during the 2026 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, and his explanation comes down to one key idea: the parks may share magic, but they operate in totally different worlds.
According to D’Amaro, the Lightning Lane systems are intentionally designed to match how guests experience each resort. Walt Disney World is a sprawling vacation destination with four theme parks, dozens of hotels, and guests who often plan their trips months in advance. Because of that, the ability to book Lightning Lanes as early as 7 a.m., even before stepping into the park, helps guests map out their day like a carefully choreographed parade. It’s all about structure, strategy, and making the most of a large-scale vacation.
Over at Disneyland, things move at a much quicker, more spontaneous pace. With two parks sitting side by side and a more compact layout, guests tend to flow between attractions and parks throughout the day. That “on-the-ground” energy is why Disneyland uses a location-based Lightning Lane system instead. In other words, less pre-planning, more go-with-the-flow magic.
D’Amaro emphasized that while the systems may look different, the goal is the same: give guests a flexible, optional way to spend less time in line and more time enjoying attractions. And as always, Disney says they are continuing to evaluate guest feedback and usage to fine-tune the experience.
So whether you’re a rope-drop strategist in Florida or a park-hopping free spirit in California, Lightning Lane is designed to fit your style. The real question now is… which version do you prefer?
Halloween Horror Nights 35 Unleashes an Infernal Carnival Led by Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow
Step right up… if you dare. Universal Orlando Resort has officially pulled back the curtain on Halloween Horror Nights 35, and this year’s milestone event is shaping up to be an absolute scream as it celebrates 35 years of terror. Running select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, Universal Studios Florida will transform into the twisted “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” a sinister spectacle packed with haunted houses, scare zones, and entertainment inspired by the event’s legacy and biggest horror icons.
Leading this year’s frightful festivities are two legendary figures that longtime fans know all too well: Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. For the first time ever, these longtime rivals will join forces as the ringmasters of the event, blending Jack’s chaotic, unpredictable terror with Oddfellow’s calculated, mind-bending horror. Their uneasy alliance sets the stage for a brand-new original haunted house, “Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control,” where guests will step into the eerie origins of their rivalry and witness the moment these two forces of fear decide to unite instead of destroy each other.
The carnival theme will take over the entire park, immersing guests in a decaying midway of nightmares where every corner feels like a trap waiting to snap. Universal is leaning heavily into both nostalgia and new scares, promising a mix of original concepts and recognizable horror properties as additional haunted houses and scare zones are revealed in the coming months. And if you want to start repping your fear early, new Halloween Horror Nights 35 merchandise featuring Jack and Oddfellow is already available both in the parks and online.
With a milestone anniversary, iconic characters teaming up, and a theme that practically smells like popcorn and nightmares, HHN 35 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated years yet. Whether you are a seasoned scream squad veteran or thinking about braving your first fog-filled night, this year’s event is ready to welcome you to the greatest horror show on earth… just don’t expect to leave unchanged.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Will Debut With Early Entry, Extended Hours, and Lightning Lane Access
Cue the cymbals and crank up the chaos because Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is about to get a full Muppet makeover and a VIP treatment to match. When Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels will have a few extra ways to catch the Electric Mayhem before the standby crowd even hits the queue.
Disney has confirmed the reimagined attraction will be available during Early Theme Park Entry, giving all on-site guests a head start each morning, as well as Extended Evening Hours for those staying at Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa Resorts. Hollywood Studios doesn’t often host Extended Evening Hours, so when it does, this coaster could become the hottest late-night ticket in town. On top of that, the attraction will remain a Tier 1 selection for Lightning Lane Multi Pass, meaning it will be one of the most in-demand picks when planning your day.
Inside the story, guests will once again step into G-Force Records for a backstage tour, but this time, things are getting delightfully unhinged thanks to the Electric Mayhem. The studio has been purchased by Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse, who puts Scooter in charge, and yes, he appears in animatronic form in the pre-show. Expect appearances from Kermit, Miss Piggy, and a flock of chaotic penguin audio engineers as the band gears up for their big performance.
To make it to the concert on time, guests will board limousines enhanced by Muppet Labs, blasting through a ride filled with familiar Hollywood landmarks now reimagined with that signature Muppet flair and a soundtrack packed with Electric Mayhem jams.
If this coaster already felt like a backstage pass to rock ‘n’ roll, it’s about to feel more like a full-on Muppet jam session with a turbo boost. Between the added resort perks and the all-new storyline, this is shaping up to be one wild ride that’s equal parts thrill and felt-covered frenzy.
Walt Disney World Casting Call Seeks Look-Alikes for Aladdin, Mirabel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Prince Charming, and The Queen
If you have ever dreamed of stepping into a Disney role and bringing a beloved character to life at Walt Disney World, this latest casting call may be your fairy tale moment. Disney Parks Live Entertainment is holding open auditions for Disney Character Look-Alikes for Aladdin, Mirabel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Prince Charming, and The Queen, with multiple timeslots available on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Kissimmee, Florida.
Auditions will take place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Rehearsal Facility on Sherberth Road, and performers can sign up for one of three March 30 timeslots at 9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., or 2:00 p.m. Disney also noted that auditions will be held again on April 1, but both dates are identical, so applicants should only choose one date and time.
Disney is seeking Mirabel, Belle, Cinderella, and Rapunzel look-alikes between 5’4” and 5’7”, Aladdin and Prince Charming look-alikes between 6’0” and 6’2”, and The Queen between 5’8” and 6’0” with a slender build and a regal, confident, melodramatic presence. All performers cast in these roles will also take part in Character Greetings and Character Sightings as fully costumed Disney Characters throughout the parks and resorts, which means applicants should be prepared to wear large costume pieces including character heads, feet, and body costumes, often in Florida’s warm and humid weather. Disney says auditions will include learning a movement routine, so comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are required.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the United States, and have a valid U.S. driver’s license. Disney is looking for performers who can begin work within the next eight months, with both full-time and part-time opportunities potentially available, and some immediate openings possible. Current Walt Disney World International Program Cast Members and current WDW Character Cast Members are not eligible to audition.
Disney also recommends creating an audition profile ahead of time before arriving, and sign-in will begin 30 minutes before each audition slot. For anyone ready to trade ordinary for storybook status, this could be the chance to bibbidi-bobbidi-break into Disney entertainment.
